A long week! A guest from Flintville, TN does not recommend this property.
Stayed for 6 days in September, 2014 This was not what we expected after viewing this condo on line. It looked beautiful. It was no doubt at one time. On the positive, we very much liked the layout of the unit. There were many things that just needed to be replaced. The refrigerator had rust on the side and nothing could be stored in the door. All the bars were gone. The carpet was dirty and had pulled away from the wall in places. The sofa was worn out. No one wanted to sit on it. The loveseat was in better shape. The bed in the master bedroom was very hard. Had a plastic cover on the mattress and no mattress cover. Both bathrooms had ceiling tiles that needed replacing. I cannot recommend this condo. I have never written a review, but I felt cheated with the condition of this unit. The pool was green and under repair. Lots of noise from repairs being done on the building next to us. Could not get Wi-Fi reception in certain places. So ready to come home.
Long Beach 2 Unit 1103 A guest from Sheperdsville, KY does not recommend this property.
Stayed for 7 days in July, 2014 At first glance the unit is appealing with great floor to ceiling views of the beach/ocean from all rooms. The pictures show just enough to satisfy most. However, the carpet was in poor condition (stained, worn, didn't fit to the wall in the family room) throughout the unit, the king mattress was as hard as the floor, the refrigerator is in bad shape (rust on the side, broken drawers, non-functioning icemaker) the master bathtub holds water so as you shower water accumulates up to your calves and leaves a nasty ring around the tub, the shower curtain rod was unstable and fell twice, and the bedroom television's were seriously outdated and small. The pool was nice but not nearly as big as the picture suggests and the pool "hang-out" was only open during the day.The cost for beach chair rental was a little pricey so we chose to buy a couple of beach chairs and umbrella for less than the cost of a daily rental. This was our second trip to PCB and I booked well in advance this time around because we were traveling with others and fearful that we would not find a resort if we booked last minute. Our first trip to PCB I booked the day we left and managed to get a 3-bedroom condo in a new resort for less than #1,300 for the week. Beach chairs were provided along with several other nice amenities. The price for the 2-bedroom condo @ Long Beach was significantly higher @ $2,200.
Overall Reveiew Lisa M. from Owensboro, KY recommends this property.
Stayed for 7 days in April, 2014 Condo was not very clean..Sheets and blankets were still wrinkled all up in ocuch bed from previous use!! Blinds were all down in bedroom, but did get fixed. Kitchen did not have pot holders to kitchen rags or towels.. Went to Wal Mart to purchase them! Overall, it was nice with the few issues listed above!
Disappointed in the condition & should not be rented until fixed A guest from Roundrock, TX does not recommend this property.
Stayed for 3 days in November, 2013 To start w/ a positive note: Great location & gorgeous sunset views! That being said: I have NEVER had a bad experience w/ an VBRO rental and we have our own properties that are listed w/ VBRO. The photos of this unit, as compared to other identical units, were so updated and looked like the place was well-cared for. When we arrived, not only were there no paper products (paper towels ,etc) there weren't trash bags or soap. The management company begrudgingly brought some over, but explained they only provide 1 and we have to get any others ourselves. The refrigerator was rusted & broken. It had NO trays in the door and only one working shelf in the fridge & 1 drawer. We had to lay everything down on the top shelf. I was surprised there was no blow dryer in the unit (although 3 irons!) and only 4 towels for a week's stay w/ a condo that says it holds 6 people. The vertical blinds had many missing slats so you couldn't block out the sun in the master bedroom. The molding in the bathrooms was rotted, the tub faucet leaked, etc. You get the idea. All I can imagine is that the owners have not been to the place is a while, or they would never allow the photos to lead someone to believe it was a unit in good condition. With repairs and some TLC, this place would be great.
Needs some minor attention A guest from Eugene, MO recommends this property.
Stayed for 7 days in September, 2013 Kitchen could use an update, new garbage disposal, some touch-up paint on the walls, new shower heads, carpet repair in living room along with a good cleaning, and second bed in the one bedroom needs leveling. Overall, love the condo and furnishings.
Security issues A guest from Dayton, OH does not recommend this property.
Stayed for 7 days in August, 2013 When we arrived at the condo, the door was unlocked and one key was laying inside. Someone was somewhere with a second key. I expressed my concern to the rental company and the lady who answered said it was a safe area and didn't seemed concerned about the second key issue. She said we could get one on Monday. Three hours after we had arrived and settled in, 2 guys came to the door, unlocked the door, identified themselves as housekeeping, gave me the second key and asked if they could get their beer they had left in the freezer. We were stunned that someone actually opened the door on our time. My wife was scared to death. He said they were spending the night on the beach. I'm sure if we had not been home, they would have come in and gotten the beer and we would have come home, not knowing who took the beer and been quite scared. After the office supervisor found out about all this, he called and apologized and I told him the story and tried to emphasize what a serious situation it was and how it could have ended and felt we should receive a partial refund. He continued to apologize, said the housekeeper(s) had been fired and said he would see what he could do for us and would be back in contact on Monday after they had a meeting at the office. He never called. I had to call him. He said he thought about the incident some more and said they would refund us one night's stay. They did do that but we felt like that didn't come close to representing how serious the incident was. Anything could have happened to us. The condo has only one lock on the entry door and we had to keep a chair propped against the door, especially not knowing if the housekeeper might come back and do something if he did indeed get fired. All units should have no less than 2 locks on the entry door. The condo was beautiful, the area was nice and the beach was awesome. We would like to rent it again but we won't be going back for obvious reasons.
Tower 2 -1103 A guest from Chattenooga, TN recommends this property.
Stayed for 7 days in July, 2013 Very pleased with the location of the tower. Beach was not too crowded like other spaces in Panama. The condo was very nice and decorated pretty. The kitchen could be a little better stocked. Overall, good experience.
Beware A guest from Louiville, KY does not recommend this property.
Stayed for 7 days in June, 2013 Long beach is a great place to stay if you rent from the right people. I have stayed here previously and had a very nice clean condo. Definitely not the case with 1103 in tower 2. Worst part of it was the condo had bed bugs. It also was in need of a lot of maintenance. Paint was peeling off the walls in every room. There were several pieces of broken furniture. The whole side of the refrig was rusted. Ice maker didn't work very well. Dish washer not was not screwed to the cabinet and was falling out every time we opened it. Kitchen not well stocked with needed things ie. no scissors,, blender etc. Overall this was the worst condo I have ever stayed in. They said the manager would be in touch with me but I have yet to hear from management.
Dirty, Dirty, Dirty A guest from Nashville, TN does not recommend this property.
Stayed for 4 days in April, 2013 A picture is worth a thousand words. Look for pictures posted by Empress30 on Trip Advisor. The condo was in need of a major overhaul. There was exposed pipes because of missing tiles over the bathtub in Master. The carpeting was filty!! The sofa is old and dilapidated as well as the bedroom furniture. The toaster and coffee maker were rusty. The microwave door and oven door were smeared and you could write with your finger in the smear. It appeared that several areas had been prepped for painting. I was told by Matt that they intended to paint the end of the month and that the paint that was missing in several areas did not make the condo unlivable. The condo shows well on the pictures. The balcony and the location were wonderful!
air conditioning "a must" Jill B. from Hamilton, OH does not recommend this property.
Stayed for 7 days in August, 2012 We did not have air conditioning for the first 4 days. After our first full day without air, we called the maint. # on the rental agreemt. They told us that we would be responsible for the $140 serv. call. The next day we called a different phone #. Cindy said they would get someone out there immed. Then late the next day (after 6 more calls..all with recordings) maintenance showed up & fixed a sensor on one of the doors that had fallen off. By now our salt shaker was a solid, cereal boxes, napkins, tissues were almost damp from the humidity. Not to mention how uncomfortable we were. It took WAY to long to fix a problem that we were not even aware of (sensors). I had contacted my credit card company to start a dispute on the 4th day of no air conditioning. We enjoyed the rest of our stay after this MAJOR issue. The views were amazing, love the location. Mattresses were incredibly hard.
