Excellent vacation unit Mat S. from Seattle, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in February, 2012 We stayed in unit #1105 for 5 days on a trip to Maui this last week. We had not previously stayed at the Palms but we had a wonderful experience. The location was perfect, being very close to Kihei for groceries, restaurants and other needs. It was a short walk down the hill to a nearby beach or a short drive to some of our favorite beaches such as Big Beach in Makena and Wailea beach. The pool and hottub were good and the grounds of the Palms were well maintained. The unit itself was nicely updated. Really every space had very nice finishes with granite countertops, slate tile, stainless steal appliances - all of it, very nice. The space was much bigger than we expected. The master bedroom was large with direct access to the Lanai and the master bathroom was very nice. Our young children stayed in the second bedroom which has its own bathroom. A previous poster complained that this second bedroom had a series of sliding doors that separated it from the main living area - this was a plus of us as it allowed better circulation to the bedroom and the option of closing off the room at night. The unit also had ammenities for the beach including a series of nice foldable chairs and umbrellas. The kitchen was reasonably well stocked (and had many spices, but not sugar) and had all the necessary appliances. The gas grill on the lanai was a bonus we did not expect, but appreciated. The only complaints we have are minor - the washer/dryer was very loud, the blinds in the second bedroom did not allow the room to get very dark, so it made naps for our kids a bit of a challenge, and the bed in the master was a little too firm for us and all the pillow coverings were stiff. That being said, we would stay here again in a heartbeat. Great place, well priced and all the things you need on vacation. |

The location was perfect for us; we often go into Kihei but also like the beaches in Makena, and this location is very convenient to both. The condo complex is nice - not as opulent or luxurious as some in Wailea/Makena, but not as expensive either. All in all a good value. The unit itself is a nice layout and has been nicely furnished and appointed. Also, the photos don't do justice to the ocean view. It's a bit better than they make it look. In summary, this unit is an excellent choice for a couple or a small family. |
