Vacation Home Rental Description:
1886 Victorian home with 2500 square feet, hardwood floors throughout, vaulted ceilings, central air and heat, deck leading to picnic table, charcoal grill and a fenced yard! The living area offers 2 full size sleeper sofas, a desk and lots of books and games to occupy down time. The dining area offers an 8 person dining table w/ extra chairs for additional seating, a keyboard and a record player, so take those old fashion records off the shelf! The kitchen features a 6 burner gas Viking stove top, 42 cup percolator, Wolf convection oven, beautiful marble countertops in addition to being fully equipped.Upstairs you will find 4 bedrooms, 2 baths and the stacked washer/dryer. The 1st room sleeps 2 in a queen size bed, has a TV to play VCR tapes (children?s movies provided) and a built in ironing board. The 2nd bedroom has 2 twin beds with an additional twin air mattress. The 3rd bedroom sleeps 2-4 with a king sized bed and a portable queen sized ?Anywhere? bed. The 4th bedroom also sleeps 2 with a queen sized bed. Bedrooms 1, 2 and 3 are conjoined and separated by large, wood pocket doors. 1 bathroom features a claw foot tub and 1 has a stand up shower. This home is very family oriented, having a pack n play, high chair and some additional baby necessities. Located across from a school with a park and close to local restaurants, The Strand and the beach.

Beautiful and completely furnished A guest from Austin, Texas recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2013 We weren't sure just what utensils and appliances we'd need to bring with us. Turns out -- none of them. Coffee maker? They have it. Coffee maker with grinder? They have that too. Flatware, mugs, even seasonings. The microwave wasn't connected to power, which was a mild disappointment. But overall a beautiful house, beautifully furnished that leaves the guest wanting very little. |

Galveston Vacation A guest from Claremore, Oklahoma recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in April, 2013 The house held a lot of people comfortably for sleeping and eating. Nice big kitchen. Unfortunately microwave did not work and the house was dirty when we arrived (frig dirty, floors dirty, one bed with dirty sheets). Mainly a good experience and great time had by all. Was unable to get the property management company personnel to return phone calls, even though I was told on arrival that someone would be available over the weekend if needed. Left 2 phone messages with no answer back. Did not even get a return phone call on Monday or Tuesday during regular business hrs. Did mention these things on departure to company. Hope next tenants will have better customer service. |

The central location of the house was very close to many of the attractions. It is a very beautiful home. Being a very old house it was drafty so some of the doors slam and rattle but that could be expected of such an old home. The kitchen had anything we possibly could have needed (other than food, obviously)the only recommendations I could suggest would be a few of the mattresses could definitely use replacing and there should be a small TV in every room. The room with the twin beds is an obvious choice for kids but there was no TV for them to watch movies. Luckily we did bring a small TV and dvd player of our own just in case. Over all I would say the house was fantastic for our large group and everyone enjoyed the house and the vacation |

The Yellow House A guest from Elgin, Texas recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in March, 2013 The property was a cool place to stay while we were there but the house need a deep cleaning. The windows needed to be cleaned and the shutters wouldn't close on some of the windows. People could see in the house at night when the lights were on. Downstairs was always cold and upstairs was comfortable. I guess overall it was alright for what we paid. |

Vintage Triumph National Show Robert S. from Austin, Texas recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in October, 2012 The house had a great location just off Broadway, but very quiet. Friendly neighbors and a safe neighborhood. The kitchen was very nice and appointed with good appliances. The porches in front and rear helped us gather outside and enjoy the late October weather. I gave the property a 3 on cleanliness because the A/C return air grate was dirty as were the ceiling fan blades (nice high ceilings and hard to get to, but must be maintained). Bathrooms in this old house were clean and very nice. We had one problem with an electric recepticle overheating and we took the recepticle off and separated and taped the wires to prevent further problems. We notified the management company and they asked if we needed it fixed right away ... we declined and they said they would schedule an electrician to take care of it before the next renter moved in. Billie Archuleta with the Home Compnay was very helpful and professional in the reservation process. |

The home seems to have older furniture except for the kitchen, which seems to me more updated. The only thing we were not satisfied with was the old tub with shower. Its very slippery and hard to get out of at times and the shower in that tub did not feel nice. However, the other shower was more up to date and was very nice. Overall, we were very pleased with this home and its Victorian look! If we ever visit Galveston again, we would most certainly stay here again!! |

Stayed for 2 days in June, 2012 Our family and friends gathered for a weekend farewell "party" for our son who was leaving for boot camp. We were a party of 12 who slept comfortablly in the spaciuos 4 bedroom home, however we did try to inflate the "anywhere bed" but could not get the compressor to work. We are a family who loves to cook, and the kitchen was fully equiped! I loved the historical area, we were only blocks from the Strand and maybe a mile from the beach, it was nice to be able to go in any direction and find interesting activities. I wish we could have stayed longer, we really enjoyed our stay. |

Our stay at 1886 A guest from Sealy, Texas recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2011 our stay at the 1886 house in Galveston was for the most part a very enjoyable experience! Billie Archuleta was an amazing represenative of your company and it was a pleasure to work with her!The only downside I can think of, is that the floors were very dirty, and there was quite a bit of dust in the corners, baseboards, under and on the furniture, etc. The throw rugs were also dirty. I only bring this up because I think this is the ONLY thing that would have made our stay more comfortable.Again, we enjoyed our time in Galveston and it was great to have such an accomadating home away from home.Thank you! |
