Location is great but condo needs work.
Reviewed by: Jamie B. does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2016 In need of updating, paint is peeling and outdated. The beds are not comfortable nor the bedding. We had a big problem with ants and some roaches. This unit should be sprayed on a continued basis. Also no air (just 2 very old fans) it was so hot and humid. Too hot to sleep. We had to purchase 4 more fans just to sleep. We packed 2 fans and gifted the other 2 to the condo. The ceiling fan in living room barely works.
Reviewed by: Denise S. recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in February, 2016 Perfect spot to sit on the lanai for coffee in the morning, before walking on the beach on property, and or enjoying an adult beverage at sunset. The BEST sunsets directly in front. High tides offer excitement; spray and an infrequent splash. Nice pool, tennis courts. Convenient and private location - to shopping, beaches and downtown (without all the congestion). Unit needs some updating - but well stocked for entertaining and relaxing.
Reviewed by: Dan B. recommends this property. Stayed for 21 days in April, 2015 We stayed for 3 weeks and had a great time. Did not even have to leave the resort except for groceries. We enjoy cooking and used the facilities to their max. The beach within 300 feet provided us with plenty of ocean serenity. The ocean sounds at night were soothing from the second floor bedroom. We found the condo provided plenty of space for two.
A guest from Sequim, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 34 days in February, 2015 We had a great time this winter in Kona. The condo is nice, a little dated and a little new.Overall OK.High surf causes a problem , the entire ocean side of the building is protected from the waves that hit the building. A few go completely over the building. Load noise when they hit the front of the condo. In 9 weeks we were only boarded up for 6 days. The view is awesome, perfect for watching the whales breach. We saw a mother and a baby whale having a learning experience. It was fun to watch her teach the baby to do the tricks they do.
A guest from Sequim, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 30 days in January, 2015 Best view in KONA!!! This condo is right on the ocean, 35 feet away. Nice 2 bedroom 2 bath. 1 bath upstairs and 1 down , both bedrooms are upstairs. Very clean, Only 1 problem when the surf get high the entire ocean front is boarded up.The surf has hit the second floor hard and even goes over the top of the building. That said we are coming back foe 2+ months next year.
Way above expectations, beautiful setting, definitely oceanfront!
Dorian M. from Sunnyvale, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in December, 2014 I didn't expect much, I booked really late and was surprised by a beautiful, well appointed town house. There was a "surprise" high surf on our second night and the storm windows were not in place, so at 2:00 am I felt a wave splash on my face in the second floor bathroom; the kitchen was flooded! Ground crews came out in the morning and secured the place for a day while the surf quieted, and then we were back to normal. No chance to snorkel inside the house. Really nice place, and we did see dolphins! Close to groceries, fine snorkeling areas, etc.
A guest from Chandler, AZ recommends this property. Stayed for 22 days in November, 2014 We booked this condo since it showed the ocean breaking a few yards away. Absolutely true! Wave sounds all night were wonderful. Afternoons the sun was too hot to sit on ocean side but plenty of other places in community and in the area. The community is very quiet, much more so than other places we've stayed, and the pool is large and very nice. Two ancient Hawaiian ruins are on the property, along with much beautiful and mature vegetation. Adjoining are a nice golf course and a great, quiet beach. Cindy at Kona Rentals was extremely responsive to any issue or question. The unit needs a little bit of TLC, but nothing at all serious and it must be very difficult with the ocean salt and humidity so close. Saw a whale family close offshore with daddy whale making big leap. One full bath is upstairs along with both bedrooms, but the other was downstairs...a bit difficult for our friends. Overall, we had a wonderful time and loved the place.
A guest from SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in May, 2014 Our cozy "hale" had an ocean-front location with spectacular views of the surf and Kona coastline from patio, living room, kitchen, master bedroom and bath. Our accommodations were sparkling clean, very comfortable, well-provisioned and quiet. The pool and tennis courts were close by and we greatly enjoyed the ambiance and serenity of the beautifully landscaped and immaculate premises on morning and evening strolls. Keauhou Surf and Racquet Club forever remains, after many years, our favorite destination and place to stay on Big Island. Many thanks again, to Cindy, for her efforts in our behalf and another FABULOUS stay in Keauhou. Our visit couldn't have been better!!

Gene C. from Sequim, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 13 days in December, 2013 Great condo, 50 feet from the water. Everything is close by, Costco 15 min away. Nice beach 5 min walk away, BEST snorkel beach on the Big Island 10 min walk away.GREAT VACATION.Gene from Sequim, WA
Reviewed by: Jim C. recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in November, 2013 We try to stay at the SURF AND RAQUET on each trip. You can sit at the table on the lanai and watch the sunset each night with an adult beverage, but I enjoy my Kona Coffee in the morning while the birds are waking up. Other than the WiFi not working this unit was everything it claims to be! We will stay again!!
Reviewed by: Garry F. does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2013 Great location, superb view, clean and tidy property. It can get very hot inside unit as A/C downstairs struggles and is very noisy and ceiling fan was not working. Could not get into pool - no keys. Internet WIFI in pool area rather than inside apartment which was inconvenient. Needs cooling upstairs as fans were not functioning correctly and no A/C upstairs so sleeping is hard when its hot. Otherwise, if these issues are addressed, it would be a great place to stay, instead I would rate as above average.
A guest from Bothell, WA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 8 days in April, 2013 We were disappointed and our impression of the condo is that very little maintenance or upgrades are done. Condo is worn, dated, neglected. We made the best of our stay but would not stay here again. Temperature ? it was uncomfortably hot and difficult to cool down the condo. ?Lanai? is concrete. Condo receives direct western exposure sunlight. Curtains are inadequate (low cost single panels) or missing. Curtain panels did not close or move easily on the oversize curtain rods. It was hot inside the condo from noon until after midnight, so difficult to sleep. We tried the air conditioner one day but it made the problem worse; AC unit is poorly located near ground level so hot air output superheats the ?lanai? rises to upstairs bedroom; AC unit missing seal/weather stripping; cool air escapes out ?Florida Type? windows; fins on back of AC unit are bent and need repairing; AC unit is too small for condo.? Writen Instructions needed inside condo; location of key needed for pool access and Check-out instructions.? Broken windows cranks so middle bedroom windows don?t open.? Various patched unpainted drywall.? The internet connection was not set up properly bc fax machine (?!) was plugged into network jack disabling both internet and phone; we had to purchase our own network cable. ? The condo was dirty; top of the fridge is filthy, sticky dirty; Dust bunnies/dirt on the floor; downstairs closet jumbled mess crammed full of items including empty sunscreen bottles, broken plastic camera case, etc.? Various remotes do not work or were missing.? Light fixtures and fans are old and rusty.? Living room furniture is uncomfortable, cushions are extremely dirty, need to be cleanedWe didn?t contact mgt about these problems bc these things should be checked and/or fixed prior to tenant arriving and shows owner/mgt company don?t monitor on a regular basis between each rental and don?t care about condition when tenants arrive.
A guest from New Westminster, BC recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in February, 2013 We and two other friends enjoyed a two-week stay at the Keauhou Kona Surf and Racquet Club. We snorkeled, went sightseeing, travelled the island and swam the ocean; mostly, though, we enjoyed our ocean spot, loved evenings on the lanaii watching the sunset, swam and sunbathed in the pool every day and played tennis for the first time in years! All-in-all, a terrific experience and we will DEFINITELY return!

Bonnie B. from Victoria, BC recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in January, 2013 This condo has everything! The ocean is just steps away and the kitchen is fully equipped - complete with some ketchup and soya sauce in the fridge. It is well appointed but not fussy. There are 4 full sets of snorkel gear, tennis rackets and boogy boards. The pool and tennis courts are both just outside the door. And the snorkel beach is a 5 min walk away!!It does not get much better than this. A perfect place to spend you Kona Vacation.Mahalo and A hui hou
A guest from Bellingham, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in November, 2012 The unit we stayed in did not have a guest book, so we didn't know how to hook up to the internet, what we were expected to do as far as clean up at end of week, where to find pool key, etc. Well stocked kitchen and had beach chairs, mats, cooler for beach and mats. Not enough basics like bar soap, kitchen wrap, napkins. Had to purchase many of those things. Good view of ocean. Place was not very clean - twin bed had sand and pills under covers, guest room smelled like dirty ocean toys - very sour odor. Hard to get response from rental agency after hours. Never responded to two email inquiries I sent.
A guest from Healdsburg, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in January, 2012 Sat on our lounge chairs each morning with coffee and watched the flying fish, dolphins and whales go by...quick walk to the tide pools (on property) or short drive to one of the best snorkling beaches on Allii Drive - pickup fruit at farmers market or fruit stand and back to sit and enjoy the sunset with a favorite cocktail. Best Sleep...pounding surf. Inside furnishings...not so comfortable; needs updating (couches aren't designed to be cozy).
A guest from Pittsburgh, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in December, 2011 The location of this condo was perfect! The porch is ocean front and you can snorkel right there by carefully climbing down the lava. Clean, sleeps 4-5, well stocked kitchen, comfortable space. Great location for daily excursions to some of the island's best snorkeling and beaches.
