Everything we hoped for!!
Todd S. from south hadley, MA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in November, 2015 From the time we booked until the day we left every detail was taken care of. Terri, Doris, Miguella and all the staff were outstanding. We felt at home in our B4 unit. What ever excurision you wanted to do was handled at the office. They took care of everything for you. Miguellas food was the best. The resort is walking distance to other restaurants as well. We rented a golf cart whch was right there for us. Great way to spend a day exploring. Lamini ruins was a great day also. Great resort and crew. Thanks!!
Travis S. from Chicago, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in September, 2015 We had an amazing time at White Sands! We loved how peaceful and relaxing it was. The entire staff was so helpful too. Terri would set up any excursions or make any reservations. Since it was the off-season there were not many people at the resort or on the island. If you are looking for peace and relaxation, definitely go during the off-season. Only drawback was that some restaurants were closed. The resort was very well maintained and clean. I would highly recommend white sands to anyone. We will definitely be back!
kenneth k. from tucson, arizona recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2015 The experience at white sands was great, I would highly recommend staying at white sands when traveling to Belize. The staff is awesome, if you need anything the staff will get it for you. My girlfriend has to eat gluten free, the staff went above and beyond to ensure she had except food while we were there.
Patrick O. from Ferndale, Washington recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in May, 2015 Everything about this trip was amazing. From Doris behind the bar to Miguela rocking the kitchen to the housekeeping staff. This was my (now) wife and myself second trip here and to top it off we got married here! Connor and Angie went above and beyond and through hoops for us and for that we will always be loyal to WSC. Thank you so much for everything everyone!! You made our trip and our friends and families trips unforgettable!
Gail R. from Bettendorf, IA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in February, 2015 White Sands is a home away from home that we will return to when we go back to Belize. Terri couldn't have helped us any more with making arrangements to arrive and once there Connor and Angie were the best. We fell in love with Doris right away and always enjoyed her wit and wisdon. Dennis in the office and Louis around the pool made us feel like family. Edwin has made the grounds into a paradise. White Sands is close to many restaurants but Miguela the cook make probably the best dishes on the Island. She is known by many as the sweetest and best cook around and they are lucky to have her. If you want laid back atmosphere and taken care of by special and caring people this the place to be when in Belize and on Ambergris Caye. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would.
Sweet spot 2.5 miles north of the bridge in San Pedro
A guest from ATLANTA, GA - Georgia recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in February, 2015 Sweet little spot 2.5 miles north of the bridge.Great food from a limited menu ...we tried almost everything.Bikes and kayaks available and very friendly, helpful staff.Rated it 3 * on Trip Advisor because of 2 significant incidents ...if corrected we would rate it a 4*.1) Our valuables were entrusted to an office safe that was not locked!2) A unit owner( some rent ...some don't) was apparently inebriated and shouting obscenities repeatedly at the pool bar on Saturday afternoon...not cool ... 2 families on property...luckily not present. To their credit the manager comped our dinner that night after my complaints..Room Tip: Spacious and well equipped unit (B4). Nice one bedroom condo on 2nd floor had great ocean view.
Melanie C. from Austin, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in January, 2015 We stayed at White Sands Cove for our honeymoon and couldn't have found a better place to stay. The staff was beyond helpful and went out of their way to make our week very special. The grounds were well taken care of and we had a front row view of the clear, blue ocean. There are bikes available to check out for exploring the island and kayaks for exploring the reefs not far from the condo. The food at the WSC restaurant was the best on the island in our opinion. We still dream about the fish tacos for two and the conch fritters. We can't wait to stay at White Sand Cove again!
Amanda F. from Rehoboth, DE recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in November, 2014 Room as expected, clean, close to water with great view. Grounds spotless and management helpful. Only wishlist items were newer cookware and king size bed!
Josianne P. from Ottawa, Ontario recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in February, 2014 We spent 4 nights here recently, and were extremely pleased with all aspects of our stay. Jenna & Ward were excellent, offering very useful advice and always being on top of things. The units themselves were very well appointed, and were perfectly located close (but not too close) to San Pedro itself. The restaurant on-site served excellent food, and everyone was genuinely friendly and laid-back. I would not hesitate to stay here again, or to recommend to a friend. Many thanks for everything!!!
Bob A. from Wainwright, Alberta recommends this property. Stayed for 16 days in January, 2014 we are for sure going back, White Sands management and staff were very helpful in every way and we also met extremely nice long termers at white sands. San Pedro very friendly people no one ever in a rush they call island time, always felt safe, never had a bad meal and all sorts of places to eat and drink of coarse.
A guest from Straubenhardt, Germany recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2013 We had a wonderful and relaxing time at WSC. The people working there were extremely friendly and service was excellent.
Peter R. from Brookline, MA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2013 White Sands Cove is delightful. The upstairs ocean front room was large clean and well stocked with kitchen items. It has a superb view of the waves breaking on the barrier reef. The grounds are very well maintained, the pool nice and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful.
A guest from Dallas, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in July, 2013 We had an enjoyable stay at WSC. The staff, especially Wade, was wonderful. Marlon, Doris and Miguela were great. Housekeeping was excellent. Pool and bar area are very nice. We loved having a bar and restaurant on site. Drinks and food were excellent. View from unit B4 was fantastic. Room was somewhat dated, but nice. No A/C in front room and the ceiling fan would not run very fast, so the room was warm. Need to install a new ceiling fan. Stove was older and worn, but it worked ok. We cooked several meals, mostly breakfast. No complaints with the bedroom and bathroom. Our biggest and only major complaint may be beyond WSC's control. The area immediately to the south of the resort along the seawall is disgusting. Sea grass and trash collects in this area and creates a very unsightly view and a disgusting, nauseating smell. We had to cover our noses each time we walked past this area to eat at Aji. If the wind is blowing from the southeast, this smell could blow up into the WSC units on the south side of the property. We would not consider staying in those units because of this. The units on the north side of the property are far enough away where they would not be affected by the foul smell. The stench is most concentrated in the lot directly to the south of WSC. A house is there and I don't know how the people that live there can tolerate the smell blowing into their house. Once you get past this house the next lot to the South is a vacant lot and the beachfront area here is just filthy with garbage, much of which has washed ashore. Both of these issues - the garbage on the beach and the stench from the adjacent sea wall, make walking south from WSC a very unpleasant experience. These problems don't occur if you walk to the north. I believe it would be in WSC's best interest to work with the property owners to the South to address these problems. Nice stay overall. We owe a special thank you to Wade for helping us in a time of need. He is a class act.
charles m. from birmingham, AL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2013 Marlon and Doris are like family and made our second trip to WSC more memorable than the first! We will be back!!
william b. from west linn, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 15 days in April, 2013 After reading others reviews, we decided to stay at White Sands Cove Resort. The entire experience, from initial booking to the day we left went very well. Marlon was very gracious and helpful. He booked us the various side trips, from Hol Chan to Shark Alley to Lamanai. The resort was very well kept up and sunning by the pool was very relaxing. We spent the entire two weeks eating out at the various local restaurants ... out favorites being Capt Morgans, Capricorn, and Elvi's. All the people were friendly. We booked during the Apr/May off season, and had excellent weather with no crowds anywhere. The water taxis to town were convenient and we went to town several times to shop. The only disappointment was lack of a nice sandy beach in front of the resort, but we knew there was a sea wall and turtle grass, so it was not a surprise. We met several nice people at the resort that were repeat visitors.
A guest from Novato, California recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in August, 2012 Picturesque location + clean and comfortable accommodations + friendly and helpful staff + amazing reef snorkeling + swaying hammock + crystal blue sea + peaceful environment = a beautiful vacation
Rhonda N. from Fort worth, Texas recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in March, 2012 The only thing that I would suggest that needs to be improved is the overall quality of the food at your resort. If you food was better I think that your resort could make a significant profit. There are not a lot of restaurants up in that area to choose from.
A guest from Menlo Park, California recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in November, 2011 Had a great time, enjoyed everything about the White Sands, though it was a bit further to town than i realized.
William H. from Statesville, NC recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2011 The bar tender was constantly playing with her phone. Rarely offered to help guests at the bar, and never offered to help guests around the pool. We always had to ask to be served even when we were the only people there, and it was if we were rudely interrupting her when we asked for help. She was constantly complaining about something in her personal life or another guest. One of her biggest complaints was that she felt as if the guests treated her like a servant. While nobody treated her like a servant, I believe she does not understand that we save our money for a long time to go on this vacation and we do expect service with a smile. It is not a class issue - it is a service issue, and point of fact she is a server. Many guests had similar complaints and she seems to be a very bad problem in an otherwise outstanding resort.
Visit Belize if you have no health issues and you do not mind extremely large, I am talking truely revolting, quantities of petr
Rachel L. from Bozeman, MT does not recommend this property. Stayed for 11 days in March, 2011 Be sure to do lots of research about Belize before you choose to visit. I did not do enough research, I trusted the person I rented the condo from, and was unable to partake in almost all of the activities in Belize. It is a 3rd world country. If you have a place you already love to visit, go there. The staff at White Sands Cove Resort, why it is named that I don't know, there is no cove, is very friendly and helpful, they are not to blame at all. Be prepared to not, I repeat, not have very good snorkeling at the resort. I was told there was good snorkeling in Belize, but was unable to do so because I was not told how physically painful it would be for me to go anywhere from our resort due to the methods of travel. I recently had neck surgery, I did tell this to the woman I booked our condo from, and was told I would have 'no problem' This was untrue. I was also told we could get to the reef at the resort, using a sea kayak, which was only 1/4 of a mile away. This too was not true, it was at least 3/4 of a mile in choppy water with very fast boats crossing to and fro in front of me as well as behind me. Needless to say, for a couple of reasons, we left sunny Belize 4 days early, cost a pretty penny to do so, and returned to frigid Montana early. If anyone knows me, I do not leave sunny and warm tropical areas for any reason, even a funeral. Yes, there was a funeral we attended, but if I had been in love with Belize, and been given a much more truthful description of the area, I probably would have decided to stay. I was given the option of 4 nights credit or 2 nights refund, I took the refund. I am extremely disappointed with my trip, I would have been happier spending $6000 elsewhere. I was completely disgusted with the amount of garbage, about 8 to 10 feet from the shore, which you could not swim from anyway, although I was told I could. I could jump into the water at the end of the dock, but that was pretty gross as well. I have traveled all my life, and have neve
Mike M. from Coppell, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in February, 2011 We very much enjoyed our stay at the White Sand Cove. The condo was very clean and well kept. The staff, Marlon and Doris, was very friendly and helpful with suggestions and booking excursions. The location was a couple miles north of town, so if you want to be in the middle of the action, it might not be the place for you, but town was very accessible by golf cart and the location allowed for more relaxation than the business of San Pedro. There even some very nice restaurants within an easy walk. They no longer have a dive shop on site, which they still advertise, but the Scuba School Belize outfit they use was very friendly and picked us up at the dock, so it worked out well for that. Overall a very nice place. We are definitely going back!
Vivian C. from Washington, DC recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in February, 2011 I couldn't have had a better experience. The room was clean, nicely decorated with a terrific view of the sunrise. The grounds & condo were extremely well kept and tidy. The property manager was pleasant, friendly and accomodating. All arrangements and recommendations were excellent - no issues whatsoever. The place was a short bike ride to excellent breakfast and dinner places. Free bikes & kayaks as well as a limited selection of snorkeling gear helped defray costs. Recommend highly.
Bill W. from Boyce, LU recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in January, 2011 My wife & I just returned from an 8 day stay at White Sands Cove. This was our third trip to the island & second time to stay at WSC. We stayed in a beachfront condo both trips here & had a wonderful time. The complex grounds are immaculate & the condo unit was spotless! Marlon, the resident manager is the best. Whether you need dinner reservations or recommendations or a dive trip to the Blue Hole, he can make it happen. He even arranged a side trip to Tikal, Guatemala for us before we arrived at WSC and it went off without a hitch! We looked at many places before deciding on WSC & after 2 trips here we would not stay anywhere else. Looking forward to a return trip soon!!
aaron a. from brooklyn, NY recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in December, 2010 a nice cozy place to stay. marlin and his staff were very helpful in finding us our own private guides for some fun day trips. we moved on to another hotel halfway through the trip just for variety's sake and wished we hadn't left white sands.
Ivan B. from St. Petersburg, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in August, 2010 This was our second visit to the White Sands. We had a very relaxing time. The resort was in great shape. The property manager, Marlon, was fabulous. He went out of his way to make sure all of our needs were accomodated.
