A quickie vacation on Belize @ White Sands Cove
David K. from Cardiff, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in December, 2015 I found WSC through TripAdvisor. I was traveling alone and need a nice place for 4 nights. The reviews and pics looked nice so I booked it. Very pleased with so much of my time at the hotel including meeting the other guests. WSC must attract a certain type because guests were as open as the morning coffee under the palapa. I loved the short stroll to enjoy my cup(s) of coffee each day. Sometimes I drank it there and others I took it back to my room. A strong wifi allowed me to catch up where I sat at the resort.I would enjoy listing all the ++ but I just say the staff were great, greeting me by name. WSC was kept clean (especially for a small beachside resort) with the sand raked each day. I think everyone took advantage of the complimentary bikes and kayaks. But I have to say you will miss out if you don't walk to the end of their dock and sit under the palapa. The lapping waters, warm breeze or evening give you time to think, meditate, pray or have a simple conversation with someone. I did them all. Finally, Terri makes your arrival feel like you are at the Wailea on Maui. I reached out to shake her hand and she pushed it aside and gave me a welcome hug. Didn't read that on TripAdvisor but it was sweet and genuine. Oh yea, WSC uses Belize Pro Divers which I thoroughly enjoyed. Picked me up on the dock, boated to their "office" in town and on the water. I know good dive masters and they are good.Sure there are a few things to improve on but to me, they are minor and I choose to consider the good not look for ?ways to improve?. I do that in my job?..
Joe K. from Manteca, California recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in May, 2015 If This is your first trip to San Pedro, then White Sands Cove is the place to book. Staff took care of all the arrangements to get to the island from the airport in Belize City to their resort. The flight to San Pedro is worth the small charge and a fun trip. The food at White sands is great- try the Tacos for two- just bring a crowd cause they feed 5-6. Really good and fresh! Our condo was clean and comfortable- bed was great. They have the bedroom door closed because the AC unit is located in there (almost too cold)- we closed the windows to the kitchen/living room and opened the bedroom door and it cooled the entire place really well.Biking was the best way to get around- we walked into town and to the north- both easy walks - a little hot when you had to use the roads and not getting the breeze from the beach. Rented golf cart for 4 hours one day to explore- that was plenty of time and costs about $40. Rented the cart right at White Sands. Angie, Doris, all the staff and the owners that were there during our stay- can't say enough about how great and helpful they were. You won't lack for eating choices on this island-we will be back soon.
Ned M. from Grand Junction, Colorado recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in October, 2014 Our second stay at White Sands. Great location, close enough to San Pedro for convienance but far enough for peace and quiet. Great staff and good food on site. It is a small development so it's quiet and your not surrounded by other vacationers. A great value for a nice place.
A guest from Fort McMurray, Alberta recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in December, 2013 The keepers of White Sands are very helpfull, always one step ahead of us regarding cabs and flight schedules.Places were very clean and well kept, every morning the sand was raked In the entire complex to give it that groomed appearance. The only thing that really was unsettling, was the amount of ocean garbage pulled up on shore. I asked locals and it seems common. Not Whitesands fault at all, but is probably the only thing that will keep me away from returning. If laying on a beach and wading out and swimming is what you want, Ambergris Caye is not the place, all beach areas are turtle grass and garbage on the whole Eastern side. It's still a nice place, and the people are great, beaches suck is all.
natalie n. from CONROE, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in May, 2013 We stayed at White Sands Resort for 10 days in May and we loved Belize and we loved White Sands. The grounds were kept very clean and the staff was more than helpful in so many ways.I would like give my best review for Doris, the evening bartender. She was so helpful and informative and very friendly. You have to try her famous margarita, they were the best I have ever had and her rum punch was the best also. Ask her any questions about anything to do with the island and she will give you all the scoop. We didn't know that until close to the end of our trip so ask early for the best results.Miguela, the evening cook is a well kept secret of WS. Don't go by the menu offered only. Ask for special items and she will not disappoint!! We brought back fish from our fishing excursion and she made a wonderful dish for us with all the trimmings. Then she made us conch fritters the next night and conch chowder for my husband by special request. Loved, loved both these ladies.Would stay again here for sure. Quiet, peaceful but only a short bike ride to town for needed items.
Douglas B. from Huntington Beach, California recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in December, 2012 A great place to get away from it all. So calm, so peaceful. The staff is very friendly and willing to help with any of your tour needs. Biggest downfall of the area is the water taxi system (not Dave's) is that they are very rude.
Dawnelle P. from Longview, Texas recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in November, 2012 I loved the atmosphere and everything about White Sands Cove. It is a perfect place to stay if you want to be on the island, but be prepared to rent a golf cart or take a taxi into town!
Geoff P. from Stafford Springs, Ct. recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in May, 2012 We had a great time. poolside with an ocean view. Staff saw to our every request. WSC booked out air travel from the International airport and had a taxi pick us up and take us to a grocery store. Great restaurant and bar on site. Walking distance to other places to eat. Dive site at the resort was easy to book a days adventure. If we wanted to go to town Marlon would book a water taxi for us. Would not hesitate to go back. Only drawback I can think of is to far to walk to a grocery store. You would have to have a golf cart or take a complimentary bike.
A guest from Campbell River, BC recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in March, 2012 On our arrival Marlin met us at the driveway, took our bags to our room and even unpacked and refrigerated our food items. Then he came out and served us a delicious rum punch. A very nice welcome. Why would we recommend the White Sands? Marlin, the housecleaner, groundskeepers and the dive shop employees make this a great place. The unit we stayed in was spotless as well as the pool and surrounding area of the property. The office has a great library collection which was a plus. For 2 people the unit is fine, but if you want to visit inside with more, then there really isn't comfortable seating or space in the unit. Hopefully the futon in the livingroom/eating area gets replaced. A quick walk away to the Aji restaurant for a meal is highly recommended!
This is our 3rd time staying at this resort. We love it!
Reviewed by: A guest recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in February, 2012 Absolutely perfect! We love the location, rooms and especially Marlon! Everything is always taken care of and the rooms are immaculate. The grounds are perfectly manicured and the pool pristine. This is our third visit and we always come to White Sands!
Greg F. from Princeton, Ontario recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in February, 2011 Our ten day stay at the White Sands Cove resort was top rated. It began with the driver picking us up at the San Pedro airport almost immediately after landing. The driver assisted us in renting a golf cart, then drove us to the local grocery store to purchase our supplies. We were then transported to the White Sands resort where Marlon immediately welcomed us and supplied our group with a complimentary rum punch. Marlon then transported our luggage and supplies to our condo and even placed our cold supplies in our fridge. Within an hour, the remainder of our group of sixteen arrived and were also welcomed. Throughout our 10 day stay, Marlon and the staff ensured that all of our needs were taken care of. Our condo was very tastefully decorated, and was stalked with all of the kitchen utensils required, even a blender. Housekeeping services were conducted daily, and the ladies were very trustworthy. The gardens and pool area were immaculately groomed.Bicycles, kayaks and snorkeling equipment were provided for guest use as well.I would highly recommend this resort. It is very quaint, and situated on the north side of the island, which is less congested than the resorts in the town centre. We have only been home for two days, and already miss San Pedro. We will be returning in the very near future!
A guest from Carmel, IN recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in February, 2011 We loved our stay at White Sands, the facility was so clean and it was very evident that the entire staff takes great pride in the condition of the grounds, rooms and overall facility. Marlon was very responsive to our needs and a great resource in regard to excursions, restaurants and San Pedro in general. We found very quickly that if we needed anything at all just to ask. Doris, the bar tender and server was so helpful and so much fun to get to know. It seemed that everyone was there to assist and enhance our vacation experience. The excursions lined up through Marlon were excellent as well and I would recommend using Marlon for setting up snorkeling or mainland tours--we found the companies he used to be safe, reputable and the guides to be very personable. The only negatives would be that there isn't a swimmable beach (which I think would matter more if you brought children) and the proximity to town. We ate dinner or lunch in town each day, so a golf cart was a must. However, to me the cleanliness and beauty of the location outweighed the slight inconvenience of having to rent the golf cart. If we return to Belize in the future, we would definitely stay at The White Sands again.
