Vacation Home Rental Description:
Large 2 story, 1900 and Hurricane Ike survivor with 1966 square foot home, 4 bedrooms, 2 bath, tall ceilings. Entering the home, you'll find the inviting hall leading to the living, dining and kitchen areas as well as the downstairs bathroom with a stand up shower. Hardwood floors throughout with warm neutral décor, full kitchen w/ breakfast bar, washer, dryer, central air and heat. The stairwell leads to all 4 bedrooms upstairs. The 1st bedroom has a queen and entrance to the upstairs deck. Bedroom 2 offers a queen bed and a TV and is adjacent to the 3rd bedroom where you will find 2 pyramid bunks to tuck the kids into. The 4th bedroom also has a queen as well as a workspace. Located across from the Rosenberg Library, minutes from The Strand and Historic District as well as The Seawall, beach, restaurants and all the happenings in Galveston!

Gas Leak and other issues Barbara W. from Bastrop, Texas does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2012 The house was nice and roomy, but the kitchen extremely small. Noticed a gas smell when checking the hot water heater to see why there was no hot water. After a couple of calls to management company, a couple of men showed up to fix it, but were unsuccessful and left saying they would report they couldn't fix it. No one else showed up to fix it. Ice maker didn't work. Curtains were nice during the day, but did nothing to shield the many security lights from neighboring properties. |

Great location, service and cleanliness very poor Michelle L. from Pearland, Texas recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in February, 2012 We were very excited for our second weekend of Mardi Gras. The location was fantastic but, for a house who's cleaning fee was equal to the rental it was not very clean. The upstairs bathroom cabinet and the floor to the right of it, was filthy. We found a water bottle from previous guests under a bed and we were not sure what was in the front closet.The tv downstairs would not play. We called the rental agent and she said she would contact the owner but, we never received a return call nor was the problem remedied. I called and left a message for someone call me to discuss the problem with the TV and the issues with the cleanliness of the house. I never received a response. We rented a different house for the previous weekend and had a very different experience. A little customer service would have gone a long way to making this rental experience more favorable. The service stopped when they got my money. |

Weekend in Galveston A guest from Houston, Texas recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2011 Historic home with many original features. Transitional neighborhood ...semi-commercial but not unpleasant. In process of being fixed up. New paint, appliances. Close to the Strand, drive to the beach. Across from the Rosenberg library parking lot, but no overnight parking allowed there. Limited parking..three spots available. Nice furniture downstairs. One bed was most comfortable, others not so much. One upper bunk bed broke right away. May not have been put together properly since it was alleged to be new. Rated for 10-12 guests, but only hot water for 2 showers. Next door neighbor unpleasant at arrival. Unfairly blamed us for broken beer bottles on sidewalk next morning. TV wouldn't work (may have been cable out), but would play DVD's. A grill was promised, but was new and unassembled. NOTE: paper goods, garbage bags and soaps not promised. Most were available this trip. Save and buy before you go. Probably best for in-town activities. Not for anyone with mobility issues...steep stairs. Limited outdoor space...brick patio out front. |
