Beautiful Cabin with 100 Feet of Flathead Lake, New Theater Room, and Wifi!
Escape to Whetstone on Flathead Lake where the setting is like stepping on to the page of a magazine. The home is located on Canal Bay, one of the most popular, sought-after vacation spots in the area. Flathead Lake is known for its pristine and clear water, but Whetstone?s 100 feet of lake frontage are exceptional. This cedar sided cabin welcomes you with floor to ceiling windows that capture you with their panoramic views of the lake and Wild Horse Island.
Just steps from your door, the water seems to call to you. A morning spent on a paddle board or kayak can bring peace to the core of your being, while boating and other water sports offer endless adventure. Wild Horse Island is just a short boat ride away and is a 25 square mile Wild Life Refuge open to the public. Intrigue all your senses with the wonder and magic of an island that has wild horses, big horned sheep and deer. It?s an explorer?s paradise.
An outdoor staircase brings you to the home?s entry way and Great Room. The floor to ceiling windows are spectacular as you walk through the door. The area is cozy, quaint, and spacious with vaulted wood beam ceilings and a new wood floor. Open to the kitchen, it offers an ideal place to cook, eat and laugh together. A sweeping deck around the front, lures you outside to indulge in your surroundings. Outside there is an encompassing lawn and a large dock to enjoy.
From the Great Room, stairs lead up to the Master Loft. This room offers a queen bed, views of the lake, and a flatscreen TV. The bathroom is en suite for your convenience.
Two additional bedrooms are located on the main level, as well as a common bathroom. One bedroom houses a queen bed, and the other a twin. Downstairs, we find a second Family Room and a brand new Theater Room. Walk right out to the lake from the family room through glass sliding doors.
The Theater Room is ideal for relaxing after long days on the water and in the sun. It is designed to seat five people comfortably on leather chairs. This is a unique amenity, offered in very few of our homes.

Reviewed by: Kathy G. recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in July, 2015 Whetstone was great! Beautiful house, beautiful views, great location on the lake! Loved every minute of our stay there! Benji gave us great tips on what to do, where to hike, and great restaurants. We took him up on most of his recommendations and were not disappointed. Would love to come back and would definitely recommend to friends!
alison s. from boulder, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in June, 2015 We had a fantastic stay at Whetstone. Everything was as described in the listing, and more! The home was so comfortable and easy to settle down in immediately. I had read all excellent reviews of Whetstone, with the exception of one or two that mentioned there was a road that was not seen int he listing. I wanted to add that this is ONLY and access road around the lake, with a 15mph speed limit. It is only used for residents and did not interfere with privacy at all. There was also mention of construction next door, which also did not disturb us in the least. Don't hesitate to rent this home. It's perfect!
Peggy R. from Evanston, IL recommends this property. Cam D. from Calgary, Alberta recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2014 House was very nice. Dock was terrific. Grounds were very nice. Location on lake was perfect. Very nice holiday, will book again for next year.Could use a little nicer deck furniture, but everything else was first rate.
A guest from Huntley, MT recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2014 Whetstone was the perfect size for our family of 5. The open floor design was spacious while the multi-levels allowed teenagers to have their privacy. The location was perfect! It is near Wild Horse Island and away from the crowds. We would definitely rent it again!
John C. from Loveland, Colorado recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2014 Our son graduated from high school this Spring and we wanted to do some kind of final family road trip before he headed off to college. We asked him to search for a place he would like to go, and Whetstone is what he found. The pictures on the website are what sold him. We were so happy when we found the house to be for the most part exactly like the pictures. Only deceiving part was the road that ran between the house and the lake. On the pictures, it looks as if the lake is directly off of the yard. We found the house in excellent condition; very clean and stocked with all of the things we would need for the week. We've stayed at rental houses before and ended up having to buy everything from salt and pepper to toilet paper, so we brought a bunch of supplies from home and really didn't need to. We loved the views, the option of using the air conditioner (which we rarely needed), the outdoor gas grill, and the kids especially loved the movie room! They even had a ton of movie choices! We also liked all of the little signs posted by the owners to help with the use of the cabin including location of cards and games, which we fully took advantage of, and suggestions of best places to visit and eat. The only things we would have changed would have been a larger kitchen (only one person can fit in it at a time) and not having the road in between the lake and the house (we were amazed to see how many cars go through there). One note: there is construction of a new home being currently built adjacent to Whetstone. We were luck in the fact that nobody came to work on it while we were there, so no construction noise, but I can imagine how loud it could get when they do work on it. Otherwise, a great place to stay. Flathead lake is gorgeous and so many things to do up there, including Glacier National Park! The 16 hour road trip for us was worth it! Be prepared for all kinds of weather.
Charles H. from Marana, AZ recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2014 My family and I had a wonderful time! We did a lot of sight seeing, but when we were home this place offered a very peaceful environment. It's a charming house with GREAT view. We would definitely rent this place again.
Andria W. from missoula, Montana recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2013 We had a blast! Our week went by so fast we didn't want to leave. The house was so nice, it had everything we needed! I will rent this property again!

A guest from Camarillo, California recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2013 This cabin was perfect for our family of 5 and gave us access to all the activities it advertises -- Glacier, islands, water sports, tranquility, etc. It was beautifully maintained and well managed. We couldn't have asked for more and will definitely be back.
Property Manager Response: Response from NW Montanas Best Vacation Homes Thank you for your great review! I am glad we could share the home with you.
A guest from Chestermere, AB recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in June, 2013 A group of us rented the Weston for 5 days to celebrate Canada Day weekend and we couldn't have asked for a nicer plan let alone the prefect weather. The house was amazing and literally two steps from the lake with a large dock to enjoy sunrises to sunsets and lots of swimming. Will defiantly rent the house again.
Melinda K. from Great Falls, MT recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in August, 2012 We loved the house and the location. It did get hot in the late morning early afternoon, but we figured out a plan to keep the heat down by strategically placing fans throughout the home.
Melanye L. from Lewisville, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2012 My family really enjoyed our stay at Whetstone. It's in a beautiful area of the lake, we loved swimming off the dock and taking long walks along the road. We also enjoyed trips to M&S Meats for smoked elk jerky and wood fired pizza at the Tamarack in Lakeside. The house is very nice, and it was great to have a separate living room downstairs where my teens could relax. The front of the house is all windows, with a gorgeous view... the only downside we experienced was the house getting pretty warm inside since there are no shades on the front windows to mitigate the summer sun.
Joni H. from Hussar, Alberta recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in August, 2011 The only complaint we have is there isnt any air conditioning but the house really does cool down quick in the evening. Lunch and supper times were still very warm in the house. I think maybe even a few window coverings on the front windows would help.
Gary R. from San Diego, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in July, 2011 This is our third time at the Whetstone house and we love it! We have been coming up to that bay for 10 years and it is heaven. A few more towels would have been nice however :-)
Review of Whetstone home on Flathead Lake, Rollins, MT
A guest from Canbury, CT recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in August, 2008 Very, very nice shades on the front windows so the house can get pretty hot by afternoon...neighbors teenagers could tame their language down a bit...quite a few boards on the dock need to be replaced...we were told that there was a docking station; (which on Flathead Lake is almost a necessity for someone with a boat), but there is not one...
A guest from Tumwater, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2007 We had the vacation of a lifetime at Flathead Lake with another couple. The house was pefect for two couples, giving enough privacy to each. The lake is just across a quiet street right in front of the house. We spent a lot of our time down by the lake reading and enjoying the water. The only problem we had is that it was over 100 degrees and the house is not air conditioned. Besides that, it couldn't have been better!
