White Sand Beach House looks directly onto the beach in front and the Matanzas River in back. Watch the sun rise (and dolphins cavort) at dawn over the ocean, and the sun set (and birds wheel by) at evening. The views are absolutely unbelievable! And you can enjoy them from wraparound decks, sundecks, the lanai ? there are outdoor spaces everywhere at White Sands, and you?ll love exploring them all.
This house may look traditional from the outside, but inside it is completely renovated and thoroughly modern, with all the conveniences and little luxe touches that make a vacation rental even more special. Sloping ceilings with high windows, outdoor access from many rooms, and decks and balconies galore create an indoor/outdoor feeling you?ll love, enhanced by sea foam colored walls, polished hardwood floors, and plenty of sunshine.
Step into the living room and sink into one of the ultra-comfortable beige leather sofas. One faces the big flat-screen TV, while the other looks onto the fireplace and double sliding glass doors leading to a balcony. This is a room to snuggle into for an evening of entertainment and fun.
Between the living room and the kitchen is a sun-filled dining area with a big table and great ocean views. This is clearly Family Central, the nerve center for everything from the laptop (you have free wireless Internet at White Sand) to heated games of Go Fish. Station the camera and binoculars here; there will always be someone around to grab them when exciting things occur!
The kitchen at White Sand is thoroughly modern, with big windows over the sink and all the space you need for food and drink. You'll find everything here to prepare and serve meals, plus time-savers such as a microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, and blender. You may mostly be packing picnics for the beach or carrying snacks out to the decks, but everything you need is here -- just add the groceries!

Pretty Close to Perfect A guest from bensalem, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in May, 2013 The location cannot get any better. Any closer to the ocean and you'd be swimming. Actual beach access was not very convenient but easily overlooked. On 2nd day woke up to house completely covered outside by mosquetoes. Seems they do this twice a year and we picked one of them. If the screen to the lanai had been repaired, we could have still gone outside, but the missing screen allowed the bugs to fill the space. When the maintenance guy came out to fix, he also shoveled up the dead critters and from that point we were able to relax and enjoy the view from the lanai. Beds were super comfortable and the majority of the house was cleaned fairly well; the exception being too many dog hairs throughout. We ate all of our meals out but the kitchen seemed to be well-stocked for cooking. The house seems to be booked out the rest of the year or I'd be reserving for another week over the summer. We'll definitely be back for more. The location is 's literally across the street from the ocean (woke up to ocean sounds every morning....). It's a short drive to the nearest grocery and about 20 minutes from the full action of St. Augustine. The bedrooms, esp. the master, are spacious, and the beds are comfy! The living space is also incredibly roomy. There were 5 adults, and we never felt crowded. The weather cooperated, so we were able to take advantage of the ample decks, both front and back. This would be a great home for a family with kids. The third bedroom has bunk beds, and the beach is almost private. We've already discussed visiting this wonderful home again! Many things not maintained, window treatments not working,sliding doors don't function,appliances not working (dryer/toaster/fridge,etc.), beds and furniture rough. Maid service shows up and tries to enter before checkout time, then accuses you of not returning a key. Cleanliness was only so so, used pizza boxes left on the stairs and the stove burners smoked from spills, etc.. The icing on the cake is the fact that after several attempts no representative from the company has made any attempt to return my communications. They've sent me several invitations to rent the house again, but have not addressed my requests to contact. A full week since we rented and not one call or e-mail. We are experienced vacation home renters, and have never experienced this lack of attention to maintenance or our requests.Will not rent from this company again! MAINTENANCE NEEDED BADLY A guest from Lawrenceville, GA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2012 We received a phone call on our drive down stating that Maintenance wanted to do some repairs before we arrived, but didn't have enough time. Upon arrival we became immediately aware that the repairs needed would take MUCH LONGER THAN A DAY!!This work needed to have been done over the winter break, not over the 4th of July! We also had to go out and buy an inflattable bed the first night, as one of the sofabeds was broken. We also had to spend a lot of money we had not planned on spending for the kitchen, as it was the most ill-equipped kitchen we have ever stayed in (the only can-opener was electric and so rusted, it didn't even work/there were no tupperware containers/the only broom must have been bought the year the house was built/etc.)! All in all we ended up spending several hundred dollars more on this vacation than we had budgeted for, just for items for the house. The location was great, but the house was a disappointment! Stayed for 7 days in June, 2012 The location of the house was perfect, right on the ocean and very close to the intercoastal. The house itself however needed some work. The house needs some major mantience work as a whole. The dishwasher, washing machines, shower all worked but everything was run down. They need to do a lot of repair work and then this house would be much better. The water also tasted terrible (and I drink tap water where ever I go). We ended up having to by bottled water from the store for the week. The only thing negative that I would say was that the AC vents in the master bedroom didn't work properly so that room was a little bit hotter while the other two were really cold and the front room should have some kind of shade in the top so when the sun rises at 8:20 it doesn't hit you in the eye. locks and toliets don't work A guest from Easley, South Carolina does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in May, 2012 We had major issues with this house. One toliet flushed and smelled horrible, the other toliet took 4 tries to flush. We called and left a message and no one answered us, so we had to deal with it. The back door lock to the deck, DID NOT LOCK! It appeared to, but did not. None of the doors to the bathrooms or bedrooms worked. The decks had not been cleaned, nor the windows. I tried to call someone and it said press 1 or 2 but the numbers, DID NOT WORK! I emailed the man who was in charge, he never bothered to even answer me. The mattresses were ancient as well as the sheets, if you tried to sit up and watch tv, the top mattress would slide down. The TV's and remotes were really old and hard to work. I rewashed the towels because they smelled. This rental is in a beautiful location with great views, it really needs some work,etc. mattresses, door locks, toliets serviced. Oh and the garbage from the people before was left and animals got into it each night. It was a Chevy Chase vacation nightmare! Stayed for 7 days in May, 2012 This house is in such disrepair that, at best it is totally frustrating for someone trying to have a relaxing vacation. At worst, it is dangerous. The front porch is filthy with ripped screen and rotting wood door sill. The back bedroom windows leak, floor covered with water after a storm, wind whistling so loud that sleep was a problem. Overhead lights, several lamps, some electric outlets, blinds, doors not functioning. Saw 2 repairmen. Neither brought tools or materials to fix anything. Nothing was repaired during our visit. Clean but Run Down A guest from St Marys, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in April, 2012 The location of this beach house is wonderful. It is a very short walk to a lovely, almost deserted beach with crystal clear, clean water. Only a short drive from Palm Coast for groceries and restaurants. The house is ok. The house was clean and had everything you needed. However, the house is in need of some repairs on the back deck, doors, windows, paint on the outside, etc. The furnishings are all dated but functional. You can tell there have been recent attempts to update some things like the new hardwood floors. It was a very poor job of installation and it may have made it worse. I would not hesitate to stay here again it's just it could be so much better if it were some updated and repaired. Typical of rental homes on the beach, the exterior could use some work (peeling paint, rust stains, etc), but that did not effect our stay whatsoever. The views from the wonderful decks are outstanding front and back, the area is very private and quiet. You can not do better for a quiet stay. There is a small road and a dune between the house and beach, but this did not effect our view our enjoyment. Check-in, check-out couldn't be easier. White Sand Beach House Review Cheryl T. from Jacksonville, Florida does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in October, 2011 Check in process was relatively smooth other than fighting briefly with the lockbox. Love the location and the view from both decks (ocean and intracoastal). A rep called soon after checking in to make sure there were no immediate problems and left a contact number via voice mail. Upon arrival, a load of dirty dishes were in the dishwasher and had to be started and then put away. The deck facing the intracoastal side had numerous cobwebs/spiders that could have easily been handled with the sweep of a broom to the area but had obviously been there sometime. The ocean front deck had several boards that were warped causing pinching when walking in that area. Could not figure out why a large container of flat latex paint was sitting on the deck? The visitors also experienced splinters from the peeling paint and wood from this deck. Loved the ocean view but very disappointed that oceanfront windows/sliding glass doors could not be opened to enjoy the breeze and pleasant weather this time of year. The master bedroom has a wonderful private screened in deck that was wasted since half of the screen was in disrepair. Would have loved to keep the patio door open at night but too much debris and bugs came in through the damaged screen. Unable to get the DVD in the living room to operate after numerous attempts following instructions exactly as written. Also could not get a reception on the tv in the master bedroom again after following printed instructions near tv. Small annoyances but they affected the overall stay. Had a lovely week in this relatively remote location but would not rent this home again. Loved the view of the ocean! It was exactly what I was looking for when I started planning this vacation. Also, I am very appreciative that we were able to bring our 2 dogs with us. Most places don't allow dogs and this was a HUGE factor when I was deciding where to spend our vacation. So thank you! As for the house, I have to be honest and say it wasn't what we expected. We did not find it as it was portrayed in the web site. Examples: Most of the blinds didn't work, the decks looked bad and there was a screw sticking up thru the front deck that my husband scraped his foot on, the deck off the master bedroom & back deck were very dirty and we did not sit out there, the windows could have been cleaned or replaced in the both front bedrooms, a good portion of a screen was torn on the master bedroom deck, there was a messed up kitchen drawer. So basically the house needs some upkeep. We realize it's a rental beach house, but we really expected the house to be in better shape. The furniture wasn't that comfortable in the living room and for a master bedroom that size, it could definately use a king size bed! Some of the kitchen utensils were rusty.The TV in master bedroom didn't work and the outside umbrella was broken. We called and reported both on Monday and then didn't hear anything until Wednesday at 8PMish when the property mgr knocked on the door. He said he's get back w/us the following day but we didn't hear back from him. It's all about the location A guest from Naples, Florida recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in August, 2011 If you focus on the location of this property and realize that that's its biggest asset then I think you will be pleased with this home. The home needs some work, and from what I've seen from prior tenants comments, the issues are not being tended to,and for what reason I don't know why. The second bedroom's sliding glass door does not open. As in, there is a sign on it that says Don't open. Why advertise that this bedroom has access to the front deck when it doesn't? The back deck screen door needs a pull. It is a struggle to get out and watch the sunset back there, as you have to pry the door open with your hand. All of the sliding glass doors are a struggle to open. The deck needs finishing. I used some junk blankets from my car and laid them around the deck so we wouldn't splinter. There are many broken vertical blinds as well, and the louvre linen closet needs a pull. And finally, it's not fun arriving to prior tenant's garbage. While it's bagged and put in the cans by the stairs, it creates a smell and attracts the flies, and the last thing I want to see when I check into a place is someone else's trash. I don't know the solution for this as garbage pickup is only Mondays... Some major pluses are, the appliances are all near new, and again, you really can't beat the location if you are looking to be on a near secluded beach with your home being steps away from the ocean. Thankfully, that's what I'll take away from this house! Stayed for 7 days in August, 2011 first of all everyone that works for the amount of money paid for this rental works hard!!! once we arrived there we noticed that the windows were verrry dirty. the ants were just about running us out of the place. the shades were most broken and not hanging up. furniture was in poor condition.. the master bedroom only had a full size bed.. it should have had a better quality and at least a queen size bed.. and to have rabbit ears on the t.v.?? really??? and to be a vhs player??? this was ridiculous!! the tv wouldn't even stay on!!! we even tried playing a movie and guess what??? it didn't even work!!!! and the air conditioning.. we had to buy garbage bags also.. i know we were on vacation but this was silly... and i want to know why we weren't informed prior to our arrival of the construction on the beach in front of the house... all hours of the night... we had to either climb over the humongus pipes or walk around them... we should have been given some kind of advance knowledge of this... so we could have maybe picked another location.. my son and daughter in law has rented alot of "vacation" rentals that are homes and were very surprised about the condition of this house for the amount of money we paid.. we also have been to some other rentals, wether we paid more or not, that was in better condition and we had absolutely no complaints about them.. so over all we didn't like your "vacation" home!! sorry to say we will not recommend your vacation rentals to any of our friends here Property Manager Response: Response from Vacation Rental Pros Hi Susan - I just received your feedback and wanted to personally thank you for taking the time to fill out our survey. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2011 The location was excellent and the place had a nice layout. From the moment we walked in, the place was crawling with large, hairy spiders. I killed 6-10 in the week we were there along with ants, beetles, etc. Also, we didn't use the screen porches much due to how dirty they were and the spider issue. Another issue we were not told about was the Army corp of engineers were working on the beach just a few houses down (when we arrived) and made it in front of the property when we left. They were re-beaching and pulling sand / mud across which had some effect on the beach and working through the night with heavy equipment that beeped all night took its toll on sleep. It would have been nice to be warned. If anyone came in right after us, they would find the work taking place on the beach in front of the rental. Not cool and I'd be asking for a refund at that point, but we narrowly missed it. On the plus side, you couldn't beat the location. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2011 The house was pretty, just like the pictures......inside and out. The beach was private with wonderful sand and refreshing waves in the water!!!! Three things, however should be fixed which would improve it immensely. 1. refinish the awful tub in the second bathroom; the rust spot looks like mud.2. Replace missing blinds in master bedroom and 2nd bedroom as sun rises and there is not shade.3. REFINISH or REPAINT the deck; it's peeling off in a terrible manner and a few boards need fixing. 4. Change out the matts in the bathroom; these minor repairs, maintenance issues would truly make this a perfect beach home.As is, I would rate it 3 1/2 out of 5 stars. Great location, rental company left a little to be desired A guest from Atlanta, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2011 This place is right on a very quiet and peaceful beach - amazing. We had two complaints with the rental company. First, the trash (including a urine-soaked mattress pad) were overflowing and not pulled to the curb when we got there, so it was smelly and we had nowhere to put our trash. When one of our group called, they asked her to take it to the curb herself. After a few more phone calls, they finally sent someone to take care of it for us. Second, it was sea turtle hatching season and the rental company didn't make it clear that we couldn't have any lights on outside, and we ended up getting a citation. Other than those things, this place was great. It had plenty of spare towels and sheets and the location was unbeatable. We enjoyed our stay.
