More than Pleased with Majestic View Gerry B. from Lake Villa, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in March, 2013 It was our fist trip to the Smokey's, and for first timers, we got it right booking Majestic View. We only ended up with 6 of us in the large cabin, but it was perfect for the 4 kids and parents. The kids loved the hot tub, decks, having their own rooms, and exploring the hillside. There were so many plates and utensils. We could have served 30 at least. There was also plenty of pots, pans, and everything else you might need. We didn't use the coffee maker, but it looked new (we didn't know there was one so we brought our own).We liked the location. When we weren't enjoying the cabin (we spent more time here than expected and ate all but one dinner here), we went zip lining, hiking and visited the caves. The kids loved it. I even didn't mind that this cabin does not have wifi or much of an AT&T signal. I would go back to this cabin again in a heartbeat. |

Majestic View 42A - Brothers Cove A guest from CLEVELAND, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in January, 2013 Had a wedding in this beautiful cabin in early January 2013. Awesome views from this spacious facility with a great open kitchen and family room area. Excellent for hosting a small event. Chef's Catering ( ) did an outstanding job with the food. The only negatives were 1) not enough hot water, 2) master bedroom fireplace was not operational. Note also that this cabin's parking area is shared by a smaller unit located to the side. Might get congested if both units are occupied. |

TN rental A guest from Charlotte, NC does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2012 In the condition we fond the rental, I would not recommend. It was not clean, hairballs on the carpet and furniture, floors were filthy (we washed them twice after washing the black mop) cobwebs in the lamp shades and fireplaces. The hot tub never worked and while we were given access to the adjoining cottage for the hot tub, it wasn't as convenient as having it on our porch. The throw rugs didn't look clean and the shelves in the bathrooms hadn't been cleaned in a while. It was not so bad as to make you want to leave but close. We scrubbed and cleaned everything before we used it. It was difficult to find the rental after entering the front gates, better markers would help and a map of the area inside the gate since GPS doesn't work there. The branches along the road going out should be trimmed making access to the highway safer. Our family had a good time, the view was nice especially down by the pool but if these things had been better, it would have made for a more pleasant experience. |

Our departure wasn't as great though, every time I stay in the mountains I would clean the place to leave it the way I found it. This time it took longer because the family that was with me didn't share that same value. My daughter went to the office and the clerk on that day was very rude to her, she only wanted extra trash bags. she didn't want to let her back in the gates. maybe it will get better on late check outs. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2011 The house was nice however there were linens (particularly towels) with stains and blood on them. The carpets were not clean in the bedrooms. There was a draft coming through the walls from the outside of the house. We enjoyed the location, you couldn't ask for a better place however there were a few things that could have been better. Carpets was dirty walls were water stained, porches needed staining really bad. We may be looking for different cabins next time we visit. This cabin was always one on our list to stay in, what a disapointment. |

Stayed for 5 days in June, 2011 The cabin was overall in great shape. However, I would like to make some suggestions. The cookware needs to be replaced. Most of the skillets had all of the non-stick surface worn off making them very hard to cook on. Additional utincils for cooking also need replaced or added too, like spatualas, etc. We have very few complaints because most everything was great. The biggest complaint though is that the hot tub needs servicing extemely bad. The water was very dirty and needed treatment and the controls did not work properly. Other than that, everything else was fine. |
