Stayed for 5 days in March, 2013 Cons- I made a reservation for pigeon forge, but was placed ina different city, ans was not told that prior arriving. The check in office was 40 min from the cabin. If you needed more linen or towels you have to exchange it yourself and drive 40 min. Driveway very steep and nowhere to turn around. Dont pull in forward. Arrived, had no cell service, and cabin phone didnt work.Pros- clean and nicely located cabin. Has everything in it you need for few days of stay. Has a washer/ dryer. Nice Jacuzzi and a clean hut tub. The view was ok. |

However on saturday morning we woke up to a very cold cabin cause we had lost our power and we didnt even get to sleep in because it was like 20 degrees on the mountain and we had no heat , so we had to leave and find something to do all day until the power came back on. Stayed for 4 days in October, 2012 Bear Hug was a nice stay if you want to be 25 to 30 minutes off the main road. A beautiful drive in the day time, but a little scary at night. The driveway is not one you would want to go up in the winter. Very clean, but smaller then it looks in the pictures. Nice fireplace, and furniture. Just don't bring clothes to hang up, unless you want to put them on a hook. The view was beautiful from the bedroom as it has a glass wall. No curtains or blinds to block the light, so if you need to get a little extra sleep forget it ! Two other cabins close enough to hear, and see the people from the door or porch. |

We love Wears Valley but probably wouldn't stay with this property again. |

We were unaware of the rental properties location, and it was a "slight" variation from our previous rental locations between Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge. It ended up being a good change from our "usual". We enjoyed the cabin, and the view. The cabin needs a "thorough" cleaning!! Windows had spider webs across them, inside/outside. Windows dirty. All baseboards/shelf tops had a covering of dust. This did not do very well for our allergies. The deck faceboard over the hot tub has a structural issue, and is pulling away from the upright support post. This issue was communicated to property management. The other issue was there was no local tv channels to keep updated on weather. |

The place was clean and cozy and had everything needed for a comfortable and relaxing weekend away from home.... but still felt like home. It was about a 10 - 13 minutes drive off of the main strip in Pigeon Forge which made for a quite spot in the woods, yet not too far from reaching town. I have already spoken with friends to head back down there sometime in the near future and have recommeded it already to multiple close friends and family members. ... there is a little Pizza place and Grocery Store on the way to the cabin from town, Its a good spot to grap a quick breakfast in the morning and the family run pizza place makes tasty pizza's !! |

Stayed for 2 days in March, 2011 The driveway that leads up to the cabin is at a bad angle to the road and difficult to enter. When leaving you have to back out blindly into the main road. We got absolutely no sleep on our first night because of a tree on the roof that was very noisy all night long due to the wind. The Hot tub jets did not work well and the water at the cabin was dingy both in the hot tub and jacuzzi. On our second night we were set to watch the Duke vs UNC game only to find out that local channels (CBS,NBC,etc) were not included so we missed the game. (First time in 25 years). Later the noise from the tree still kept us awake so we left around 10:00 p.m. on the second night and came home. |

Bear Hug #18 Kathy M. from palm bay, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in December, 2010 This is our 2nd time at Brother's Cove. Each unit has their own unique location so we chose Bear Hug #18 this time for the mountain view and price. We stayed at Bear Paw Trail before and loved it. Bear Hug #18 has a fantastic view! It snowed on Christmas morning and we woke up looking out of our 2nd story windows to a white blanket of heaven. So that was lovely and what a real Christmas blessing. The Cabin was quaint and homey. Only a few suggestions to help others. The drive way is extremely pitched upwards, so you will need a snow shovel and chains to get out(we used the dust pan,lol) I'm a housekeeper by trade so it was alright but needed a real good dusting. Also, this is so minor but we were told we would have a Christmas tree and it was as big as our 2 month old. Cute, just wish we were told. Other cabins usually have taller ones. Loved the rockers, swings, jacuzzi, and fire place! Oh and we did get snowed in so plan for that because you'll be on your own...which was fine by us. However, no cell coverage, or WI-FI, and you'll need a phone card. Plus roads get iced over so becareful. Lovely, lovely view and time overall just pre-pare that's all. No VCR, or blue ray for the kiddos so pre-pare for that. Oh and bring IRON OUT for your whites and Lemon Juice for the tubs for the well water. Oh & Whaley's supermarket has cheaper firewood. $3.50 compared to $5.00 at Brother's Cove. Although Brother's Cove helps you load it and delivers it to your door. They are nice people and you will have a wonderful time. |

Stayed for 10 days in October, 2010 This was the third time that we have stayed in Bear Hug #18 since it was built and we enjoyed it as we have enjoyed many others at Brother's Cove, however this time I was extremely disappointed in the fact that the TV had Direct TV reception but NO local stations were on the package and for the 10 days that we were there, we could not get any local news or precise weather conditions and worst of all I could not watch the World Series or any weekend football. No excuse for not supplying local stations. Other than that and the cabin not being as clean as it should have been, our stay was fantastic and relaxing. |
