Honeymoon Suite - Great View - Convenient location A guest from Leeds, Alabama recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in March, 2013 Stayed for a week. The view was awesome. Everything in the cabin worked and it was very clean and well maintained.Just a few minor issues - Pool Cues weren't in best condition. Only one was usable and the tip was glued on it incorrectly. Mattresses were showing their age. Especially the one on the sofa bed downstairs. Biggest issue was with the heat - It was very cold when we went and there is only one central heating unit. The heat would rise to the top floor causing it to be like an oven and the downstairs was freezing. We kept all of the ceiling fans on to help move the heat downstairs but it only helped a little. The temp in the upstairs hallway would literally reach 85 degrees although the air was set on 72. Had to rely a lot on the downstair fireplace and kitchen fireplace to keep it comfortable downstairs without cooking the upstairs. As the outside weather warmed up later in the week, this wasn't as much of an issue. I can imagine that during the summer though, the AC probably can't keep up with the upstairs.Great place otherwise and we would stay again and actually plan to in a few months. |

Stayed for 4 days in December, 2012 We arrived later than we hoped, therefore we couldn't see the beautiful views til morning. The layout of the cabin is great! Loved that they had a washer and dryer. Our only disappointment was that there apparently had been a water leak in the downstairs bath and the floor had buckled some. The mattress on the bed also needed some updating, but was fine overall. I wish I had known that the tv channels did not include NBC, ABC or CBS. When I called the office to find out why we couldn't get this information the lady seemed uncaring and insensitive to our situation. If we ever return I will make sure to ask before I plan my trip. We did have a great trip and the views were unlike any other I've ever experienced. |

In fact we liked it so much, we planned on going out for dinner one night but instead decided to stay in! The view was breathtaking ? we so enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the sun rise over the Smoky Mountains. The cabin felt hidden away in the mountains but yet was not too far from Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge to do sight seeing and shopping. It was very comfortably furnished with everything one could need and VERY clean and neat. The décor was beautiful and very fitting. Directions were easy to follow and all other information regarding things we need to supply if needed and how to handle trash etc. were very helpful. We will most definitely return to Brother?s Cove next year and we look forward to rent from American Mountain Rentals. |

The view is fantastic from it's stunning wrap around porch. In fact, with the way the cabin is set up, the views are stunning from every room. The amenities are nice and the cooking and dinning. areas are very nice. Very peaceful and serene place for a couple to be.The bad:Easy to get to in good weather but if you visit in the winter you will need 4wheel drive and/or chains for your tires. There was actually a car that flipped upside down a little below us on the mountain during our stay. The floors of the cabin are in pretty poor condition...obvious water damage, and the bedding and sleeper sofas are not very comfortable. The thermostat is upstairs so if your down stairs it freezing cold when its nice upstairs, or its burning hot upstairs when its nice downstairs. If it's just two of you here its not a problem....but if you have kids...keep this in mind.The Ugly: No Football Games on TV! No local channels at all like...FOX, ABC, NBC, CBS . This is a deal breaker for the sports fan who wants to relax after a long day out in the mountains..... and watch his college team play on national tv ....oops sorry they don't get that channel!!! What???? |

I found a roach in my tub, and one later in the bed when stripping it. This was the last day so I didn't report the roaches. Another thing was the TV in the bedroom. The remote would not work with it. I reported it and they said maintenance would come, but they didn't. The direct TV box for that TV was in the stairwell, and the remote couldn't reach it. One person had to stand in the bedroom, and another in the stairwell to yell out if the channel was turning to the right one. When you stay in the honeymoon suite you expect the tv to work. Overall ok I guess, but it was a lot of money for the problems we incurred. |

Stayed for 2 days in February, 2012 2 complaints: - the windows were very dirty - sheets and mattress cover would not stay on the bed while sleeping, very irratating. Property Manager Response: Response from American Mountain Rentals Thank you for the tip on the windows and mattress pads, we will address that. We schedule routine cleaning on the high windows and fixed glass quarterly. It is an extremely challenging endeavor considering the steep drop off from the windows to the ground since this unit is on an elevated platform off the ridgeline. It requires special safety gear and harnesses in order to reach them. The crew that handles that will be making their scheduled cleaning in March. I will talk with our laundry crew about the mattress pads. We look forward to seeing you again soon! |

The drive to the cabin is a bit much if you get car sick easy. Long twisty two lane road but once you get to the cabin it is all worth it. There was TOO MUCH chlorine in it which burned our nostrils and ruined my wife's new black bra. Also the pump was very noisey. That was the first and last time in the hot tub. Next the living room couch had a stale odor of urine. Apparently someone had slept on the couch and wet the bed. I advised the lady in the office upon our departure of the smell. There were cob-webs on the dining room light fixture so apparently the cleaning people don't do a great job. Also the bathroom floor mat was dirty and had to be sent out to be washed. Other than that, the cabin was very nice and had a great view. We enjoyed sitting on the porch and looking at the mountains. I would suggest bringing your own pillows though. There were enough there but not that comfortable. |

The view from the cabin was breathtaking, the cabin had more than enough room for 2 people, and it was decorated very nicely. I wish the hot tub would have had more water in it (it was barely above the jets) and the water was pretty brown but I understand that this really can't be helped. In fact, we enjoyed the cabin and the view so much that we had pizza delivered 2 nights and just stayed in! (Capelli's and Stone-house deliver pretty much anywhere). The flat-screen TV's and new kitchen appliances were also very nice. When we return, we will try and get this cabin again. |

NO SURROUND SOUND, WHICH WAS ADVERTISED IN THE AMENITIES!! (WE LOOK FORWARD TO THAT) WITH OUR MOVIE COLLECTION! AND THE CABIN DOWNSTAIRS IS EXTREMLY COLD NO INSULATION AROUND DOORS HAD TO SPEND MOST OF TIME UPSTAIRS WHERE THE FIREPLACE WAS NOT LIT FOR OUR CONVIENCE!! WE WERE VERY DISSAPOINTED WITH THIS STAY WILL LOOK AT OTHER COMPANIES NEXT TIME NORMALLY I NEVER CONSIDER NO ONE BUT BROTHERS COVE BUT AFTER 9-10 STAYS ITS TIME FOR A CHANGE, TIMES ARE HARD AND THIS STAY MADE US FEEL LIKE WE SHOULD HAVE STAYED AT HOME!!!!! Outstanding Romantic Getaway A guest from breaux bridge, LA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2010 I booked this cabin for my wife and I's 10th anniversary. The cabin was outstanding and the view was absolutely beautiful. My wife said it was the best surprise I had ever given her. It was very peaceful and serene. We stayed for a full weekend and only left the cabin for dinner. It was so nice we didn't want to leave. I would definitely recommend this to a couple looking for a quiet getaway with a beautiful view. |

Sept. 2010 A guest from Harrison, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in September, 2010 Roof leaked in living room.Tripping hazard in foyer (warped boards) and pool room (ripped carpet). Weather was cool but maint. would not turn on gas for heat. Maint. person said they would be up to turn on gas but never showed up.Overall cabin was not cleaned very well although there was a $40 cleaning charge added to our rent.TV in pool room had been removed but not replaced.Bugs under kitchen counter and in silverware drawers.Sheets did not fit bed.Unfriendly employee at front office (check in).Good things:Really neat cabin construction.View was great.Peaceful/private.Nice decor. |
