Happy Bear Visit Kenneth F. from Decatur, AL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in May, 2013 I have been staying in the Wears Valley Area for about 17 years. This cabin was not Clean, only one dish towel, no salt and pepper, no extra garabage bag, the blankets had a very peculiar odor, the yard was grown up, all of the spring pollen was still on the bottom porch, we had to clean it just to sit down. Although the cabin was suffient and the location was O.K, it should not have been rented in this condition. Like I said we have been renting for years and I would have to rate the readiness of this cabin to be on the bottom of my list. American Mountain should do better than this. |

It had everything we wanted and was perfect for our vacation. The view overlooking the riding stables and pastures was phenomenal. The only complaint we had was someone had set parental controls on the master bedroom TV so at night most of the channels were locked out. We called the management co to see if they could fix it. They sent someone out to see about it but it was never fixed and they never mentioned it again. |

Not very secluded A guest from Mason, Ohio recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in February, 2013 This was a nice cabin if you aren't looking for a lot of privacy on your vacation. We could hear all the traffic going by and everyone driving by has a perfect view of the cabin deck. We stayed in above the clouds a few months ago and it was much more secluded (but had an extremely steep driveway). We also had several maintenance issues at Happy Bear, but I will say we have always had an excellent response from maintenance. They are prompt and except for one of the issues we had this weekend they were able to repair the problem within a few minutes. I am still looking for the perfect cabin, but I plan to keep looking with AMR. |

An AMAZING Get Away Franklin F. from Hosford, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in November, 2012 It was perfect and felt so much like ahome away from home. Very peaceful with a BEAUTIFUL VIEW. We highly enjoyed the game room as well as the hot tub :). The most part of our vacation was actually spent at the cabin. We didnt want to constantly be on the go, we just wanted to hang around the cabin and relax and that is exactly what we were able to do. It was very clean and everything was working perfect. I would definately recommend American Mountain Rentals to all friends and family and i've already recommended two friends sinse my stay at A Happy Bear. |

Stayed for 4 days in October, 2012 Check-in was very easy and directions were excellent to get to the cabin and inside the door! The cabin A Happy Bear was basically clean. The place could use renovating with newer appliances. There were plenty of dishes, silverware and glasses. The biggest disappointment was having the hot tub on the bottom level. The only way to get to it was to go outside, walk down steps and across a porch. Although people rarely looked up, there was a road in front of the cabin. We did enjoy watching the horseback riders across the street and it was very careful. We never went into the gameroom on the lower level, but I imagine if you have kids, they would enjoy it because it is downstairs as well with an outside entrance only. |

Stayed for 3 days in October, 2012 Got the virtual keys from the office, drove to the cabin and enjoyed a 3 days get-away from the city in a nice, quiet environment.Make sure to have an AWD vehicle in the winter as the driveway is steep. Also drive slowly on the main road or you'll miss the sign to enter the driveway. Cellphone signal (AT&T) way pretty much lost in the area but that way a good thing for us. There is a land-line phone in the house for emergencies and free wi-fi, which is nice.Everything was in working order except for the shower in the second bedroom. Everything was also clean with a few dead bug exception but that's expected in a forest environment where they are abundant. Keep the doors closed when not used and you'll be fine.Loved the hot-tub and jacuzzi. Kids wanted to stay in them all day.Cabin is stocked with books, movies and board games, which is great.Enjoyed our stay very much. |

It does not provide privacy, some of the furniture was old. The "grill" was less than what you would get at a picnic spot or campground and we didn't even bother using it like we had planned. It rained during our stay and we saw the clouds dancing over the field across the street; it was very beautiful. You can see clouds traveling right from the deck area through out the day. The cabin is very clean and well maintained. This is the first time we rented a cabin and the experience was great. It is very close to all the Tennessee attractions. If you like the ?Country? side; Tennessee is a must see. Money well spent. |

Missing a lot in the cabin A guest from McDonough, GA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2011 The management company was great, but the cabin left a lot to be desired. The guest shower was broken (water did not make it up to the shower head when you turned that on).They had an HDTV, but it did not have HDTV signal, so the picture quality was bad. There was only essentials like kitchen utensils and cookware/plates/silverware. The silverware was also very cheap and I know it sounds odd, but the forks were tiny. Almost like baby forks. There was only one set of extra pillows and blankets.The hot tub was quite small and barely fit the 4 of us (all average sized adults).I may have read incorrectly, but it looked like (or we expected) 2 master bath and suites, if you will. There was only one master suite and the hall bathroom doubled as the guest bath. Maybe we read wrong in the description, but that was our belief, so it may have been our fault. Overall, I liked the management (and we did not try to have the shower fixed, but we could have possibly).Our problem was just with the cabin amenities. |

Stayed for 7 days in July, 2011 We were with a group of 80 for a family reunion. Your website advertised a covered area next to the pool and our organizer was told that we would have use of the lodge for our group. We arrived to find no structure next to the pool but a slab of railing around it for the little ones, no fireplace, 2 picnic tables (for 80 people) and no cover over it. The lodge was in litigation and not available for our use. My brother's cabin had a tree fall on it and you placed him a mile and a half OUTSIDE THE PROPERTY, with no financial reimbursement. Needless to say, I was very disappointed in this trip and we won't be having any more family reunions here, I can guarantee that. The woman in the office was rude, saying that my brother was on the property when, in fact, he was not. The only person who was helpful was Tom, he was very friendly and a big help to us. It was perfect for anyone with children, when you stay in a hotel you are constantly trying to keep the kids quiet because there are people right next door. It made for a much more relaxing experience when the kids were able to be kids. The cabin was very comfortable, clean and close enough to everything in Pigeon Forge. I would suggest an exterminator, there was a slight lady bug problem. But that is the only fault. Loved it, I will never stay in a hotel again when I visit Pigeon Forge. Thanks for helping to make this a wonderful experience for my family!!!!! |

Then it turned cold and we used the living room couch as a bed. I understand that the owner wouldn't want to put a space heater in the area because it might not get turned off. We really didn't use the game room in the basement. It seemed like it could have been aired out. You could tell it had been closed up for awhile. |
