That was a big plus and once we arrived it was very inviting. The lights were on so we could see our way in.The cabin was awesome with the bible opened up on the coffee table and the place settings set on the table. It was rainy n chilli when we arrived but that to had been taken care of temp wise in the cabin. It was extra special having a choice to stay in one of the pet friendly cabins due to the fact We don't stay anywhere that our poodle can't stay. It was very peaceful during our stay n everything from the washer n dryer to the fridge worked wonderfully.We look very forward to another stay in any American Mountain Rental. What an absolute delight when we walked in to Mountain Laurel #9 and it was exactly what the photos showed and a true cabin rental!!!! Stayed for 7 days in August, 2012 If you love the mountains but also want a location that is close to a lot of activities, this is it. I have stayed here 2 times previously and it keeps me coming back. It is perfectly located between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg Tennessee, but is surrounded in a secluded hideaway of trees and mountains. Some of the cabins are nicer than others, I would recommend going on the web site and do the virtual tour. Remember, what you see in the picutes may have changed some as far as the furniture and/or accessories go. The personnel were very friendly and willing to make any corrections as far as maintenance issues go. |

Stayed for 3 days in August, 2012 All was very nice, except 2 things:1 - location is not perfect, due to over an hour drive to popular locations (Cades cove, Grotto falls...)2 - office is located in Pigeon Forge and they did NOT give us password when we arrived at ~1. We had to WASTE ~45 min, to drive back to Pigeon Forge from National Park area and then drive to the cabin. it is a waste. I see no reason why passwords can't be given at 1 with a word to not go to the cabin until 3. or you can set it up the way that passwords only start working at 3p.m. |

All of the pictures, except the view. In the pictures on the web, the trees are not in full bloom so it appears that you would get a mountain view and that is really what I was was wanting to wake up to each morning and all we really had was a wooded view. We were disappointed in that, but overall our stay was very private, quiet, and peaceful. If you are traveling with young ones, be aware that you will need to bring along some child-proofing devices to keep them safe. We brought along our safety gate for the top of the stairs and that helped a great deal. The banister is not exceptionally sturdy, but the bed was comfortable and there was always really hot water available and lots of clean towels! We did have the intention of cooking several meals there, but once we saw the condition of the pots, we opted out of that! The pots need to be replaced, so we just just used the oven and microwave or ate out. The washer/dryer came in very handy! We also loved seeing the wildlife right off our decks and enjoyed the wonderful views from the pool area!! |

Next day, the upstairs functioned and the downstairs did not. Stayed for 5 days in December, 2010 Cabin itself was quite lovely, with a pleasant view.Hot tub did not work when we arrived, and was not repaired until the day before we departed. This was disappointing. When we discovered this, we also discovered that the land-line to our cabin did not work (nor do cell phones in the mountain) so we had to drive back down to the office to let them know about the malfunction. We were told that this was an "owner issue." It was only one example of the buck-passing that occurs in these rental places. It's always an "owner problem" or a "satellite-office problem." This can become frustrating. For the most part, Brother's Cove (satellite office) were as helpful as they knew how to be, and very pleasant.If you are an easy-going vacationier who doesn't mind when things don't go exactly your way, you will be quite content on this vacation. We enjoyed ourselved even through the inconveniences. If you are not an easy-going vacationer, you probably won't enjoy your time here.Also, no DVD player in this cabin. Again, for us, not the end of the world. We made do with the lovely view, cozy fireplace, and indoor jacuzzi. If these are not adequate to your vacation purposes, you might prefer somewhere where they're a little more on the ball.In summation, I don't know if we will come back. We adored the cabin, but would have appreciated a bit more attention to detail, and for the rental place to recognize and acknowledge that we were promised amenities that were not delivered. We certainly would not have asked for a full refund, but some sort of compensation would have been nice. |

Stayed for 4 days in December, 2010 Brothers Cove is beautiful. The only flaws we had with our cabin was: The cleaners need to move furniture when they clean. We had to move the couch to open it up to sleep. They flipped the cushions over and they were full of long dog hair. The cabin was full of love bugs. (that could have been worse) and the TV in the one bedroom just rolled. Couldn't watch it. Easy problems to deal with but some people for the money, won't !! The staff, snow plow man and salt truck man were very nice and friendly. It snowed for Xmas and thats all we cared about !! Wonderful !! We heard it hasn't snowed in TN since 1992 so we feel very lucky we got what we prayed for !! Thank you Jesus !!! What a great birthday it was for him !! |

Understanding that other pet owners used this cabin before us was a given. What we didn't expect was to be overwhelmed by the smell of urine. We understand accidents can happen, but when you are led to believe that a unit is cleaned before a new arrival, you don't expect to be overpowered by an unpleasant smell. We try to be responsible pet owners and wished others would too so that we can continue to bring a member of our families with us on vacation. However,the term pet friendly shouldn't give the rental company/owner the right to rent an unit that hasn't been thoroughly cleaned/freshened for the next occupant. |

Stayed for 2 days in August, 2010 it stunk when we first walked in... didnt think much of it.. no view other than trees right in front of the decks.. went to use the jacuzzi the second night and the water was brown!! How disgusting... who wants to lay in brown water. When i called the next day all they kept saying was its well water. Well if thats the way it is then they should let customers know before hand how nasty the water is.( Especially when you tell them its your honeymoon!) I couldnt even shower! And then while i was on phone complaining the lady had me talk to a manager who said he would see what he could do and then call me back... and guess what he never called back!! Oh yea I forgot to mention the cobb webbs that you get to lay in bed and look at.. and how dirty the windows are!! Will definately not ever stay anywhere with them again.. |
