Stayed for 3 days in November, 2012 I will first say that the management location I dealt with in Severville were fantastic! The cabin it's self was small.. It had not been rented lately, (I'm guessing,) because the upstairs toilet to some flushing before it looked clean again in the bowl area.. The upstairs shower had dead bugs in it.. The sound level in that cabin is LOUD, meaning, you could b in upstairs bathroom with the door closed and carry a conversation, by not yellin, with a person in the living room on the first floor.. It has big beautiful windows, not tinted, and so if you do not wish to get up with the sun on your vacation then take a sleep mask, otherwise you're up.. Plus, you will also be awakened if the upstairs toilet gets flushed because the tank refil process is abnormally loud. Plus take ear plugs because if even 1 person in your party is an early riser you will be too because the cabin is so "open" you hear everything. There is no such thing as quiet or being quiet. The cabin advertizes a max occupancy of 8 so when we had a total of 7 I figured we'd be fine, table only seats 6, living room seats 5. If you had 8 and 2 had to be on pull out sofa, then you definately would all have to wake at the same time as to be able to function. The dusting and vacuuming could be more thuro than it is because it's wood, basboards and behind bed post etc were dusty/unvacuumed. Also, hot water for 8 is a DEFINATE issue. Maybe if all showered 2 hours apart you'd be fine. |

Beautiful Location A guest from Louisville, KY recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in October, 2012 We were very pleased with the cabin location in the secure beautiful Brothers Cove. This cabin with its totally glassed in dining room is perfect for SHORT stays with no children because there is NO yard at all, no closets and no kitchen cabinets for your food if you stay a week like we did. It says 3 car parking but 2 small cars is really all that should be parked there. We did sweep and vacuum upon entering because is was not very clean. We wish the hot tub had been in a covered area because the leaves and branches were falling in the water so we were unable to use it. The staff was very nice and helpful. |

It is best suited for a family of 4. Brother's Cove is well kept and quite. Most cabins feel like they are in a remote area. Alpenrose (as spelled on the cabin signage does overlook one cabin at some angles from the deckbut still has a remot feel. The pool is nice with an amazing view. |

Missed the Mark A guest from Liberty Township, OH does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2012 Upon arrival, was very disappointed in the cleanliness of the place, for the cost. We spent (total price) over $560 for two nights. Windows-dirty!, no blind on one bedroom windown, outside deck-filthy!, a dish inside-dirty (but put on shelf), dead bugs and spider all about (to be expected, but still part of our experience), dishes put out in dining room-dusty!, tv on, but remote does not work, at all!, hot tub-water was too low and it STUNK! Called service for both hot tub and tv. He was very nice and helpful, however on hot tub, stated it is emptied EVERY time guests leave (i would STRONGLY argue that, as i have a hot tub and do NOT think this has been emptied nor cleaned in a LONG time). I asked that he chemical it while there-was told it has chlorine and is too costly for the company to PH and maintain chemicals in all the hot tubs all the time-considering again i paid nearly $600 for 2 nights there, i was FULLY expecting to have a clean and conditioned hot tub. Beyond that, there are notes ALL over the place that if you have a party, use the fireplace(which is advertised can be used), leave a mess, all sorts of things, there is an additional charge for each and every thing. BUT-there is also an envelope from cleaning asking for a tip?!??? You have to bring any used linens down to the office in order to get a replacement. Toiletries or any other needs - you are on your own beyond a very basic supply. For the price - this was EXTREMELY disappointing for many reasons. |

Mountain getaway (Might be better in the winter) Ruth W. from Jonesboro, AR recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in March, 2012 Nice view of the woods. Bumble bees will drive you crazy anytime you step out the door or on to the either deck, they had built nest inside the wood of the cabin and were very protective of it. Wasp kept getting into the cabin from upstairs somewhere, was told that the csbin had settled so that the cbins tend to have cracks in them. And it seemed that the air was not working properly it stayed close to 80 in the daytime in the cabin. It seemed that it was not well insulated the outdoors temperature greatly affected the indoors temperature. I did love the full size washer and dryer and they had spray available for the wasp and othe pest that found their way in. This cabin would probably be better for a winter getaway, seeing how it stayed so warm in the cabin. We rewashed our complimentary dishware, it seemed that whoever used it prior to our stay did not wash them very well but when I mentioned it to house keeping they did offer to wash them but chose to do it myself, who better cleans than yourself. The extra oillow in the droor was badly stained. I had wiped up some water from the floor on our first night there and the floor was in definitely in need a good mopping. So house shoes were a must. We spent most of our time out of the cabin during the day time since it was so warm in the cabin regardless of the A/C being on. Night time was a little better since the sun was down cooling the outside temp. |

There are rodent fecies in underneath and you can tell where rats are chewing it up. 2) The blinder didn't work. They need to replace the blinder. 3) The pool is described to be right there. That is false, you had to go up the entire mountain to get to the pool. Overall, the place is great and we really enjoyed the stay. |

Stayed for 1 days in June, 2011 Alpen Rose was a very "cute" cabin, but it is quite a distance from activities for people with children. The cabin was MUCH too small for a family of five to stay for a week. There was no counter space for groceries and no counters or cabinets for dishes. Also, the bedrooms and bath were tiny, and there was very little living room seating for our family. However, I was very pleased with the office personnel, as they heard our concerns and moved us to "Snuggle Inn" which was delightful - ample room and comfortable for our family. (It had room to store food - yeah!) I thank them for allowing us to move to another location. Alpen Rose was "cute" and clean, but much too small for more than a weekend stay. Lisa |
