The living area has a full-size sofa bed and wall-mounted flat screen TV; the bedroom has a comfortable queen bed. A long hallway and bathroom with large walk-in shower and hand-held shower wand (no bathtub), separate the bedroom from the living area.

Small but great unit

Aside from small inconveniences like coin op laundry and an outdated key fob system to use the elevator it was great. The futon wasn't great or comfortable but did the job for our 7 year old daughter. It has a good view and a lanai that looks over the pool. Captain Cook was very professional and were always available to help if any issues came up. We'll definitely be using them again.

Very reasonable at around half the cost we would have paid for a resort. The reason being the bed was very very uncomfortable and the bed linens needed to be updated. In fairness the last day when we told the property manager she said she could have brought us a foamy for the bed.

We have teenagers and found the sleeping arrangements a bit tight as the sofa bed is small and not very comfortable. This was really the worst comment about this rental, as everything else was great. Condo is clean and newly renovated, shower was HUGE and lots of water pressure.pool area was nice too and not over crowded! Would reccomend this Stay to anyone, not super fancy by any means but served the purpose! :)

We were able to walk to the beach, dinner etc. The balcony was lovely. We would sit out in the evening and take in the view and the beautiful warm air. We particulatly loved that this was a corner apartment. The price was very reasonable. We were extremely happy and wish we had known about Captain Cook rentals before. We absolutely will be back again!

It is located close enough to the beach, stores and restaurants so we did not have to hire a taxi. We enjoyed eating breakfast on the patio while watching the ocean. We bought a trolley pass which enabled us to see different parts of the island. Trolley stops were close to our condo. We thought our trio to this beautiful island would be a once in a lifetime trip but we are already planning our next trip!

The security guards are very friendly and always open the door for us. This is the perfect location in waikiki. Close to everything and great view of the beach. Stayed for 7 days in September, 2012 Apartment well located and good views from our room, only one block from the beach and one block from the main strip. There was a problem with our sliding door not working & it was fixed straight away. Did not like the fact that the photo's of the apartment on the internet give us the impression that is it was much larger than it really was, even that there was no door to the bathroom. It was advertised to sleep 5, but that would only be possible if you were travelling with little children, we were 4 adults and just fit, with 1 of us sleeping on the sofa bed. The kitchen (electricity) in our apartment (No. 1012) was a joke, you are only able to use one appliance at a time (and it was very slow) so trying to cook anything in your apartment was very hard. It took us 1 hour to cook some pasta! :(

The unit also needs blinds, not just thin curtains as it is too bright in the unit even at night. I had to wear an eye patch to sleep because it was so bright. My wife does not like the fact that there is no washer-dryer in the unit as she felt unsafe going to the basement to do laundry. (This did not bother me.)Aside from the problems with unit 1012, I really like Waikiki Park Heights. It has a nice, salt-water pool and is very convenient to the beach and Foodland.
Property Manager Response: Response from Captain Cook Real Estate This unit doesn't advertise a full kitchen, many people have managed to cook with the single burner in the counter or with the two burner hot plate, we do not advertise blackout drapery, and did not advertise insuite laundry. These guests have stayed in the building for many years using a hotplate and know that none of the one bedroom condos have laundry. No one has ever had a problem with the laundry that we are aware of. This is a secure building with 24 hour security.
