Home of the sea
A guest from Corvallis, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2014 The place is in a good location. All in all we had a good time and enjoyed ourselves. There were however several issues (mostly minor) with the property. The hot water heater did not work and provided enough water for one semi-warm shower a day. We ended up boiling water for baths. There was also shoes left in the house, one of the trash cans had not been taken out, and we were not sent the email containing the lock box combination until I called people the day of. There was also no cell reception or long distance phone at the house which was unexpected. The blinds on the windows in the picture used batteries and only two worked. The house was very close to being really nice but missed on several items.
Leslie W. from Ashland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2014 Chateau Del Mar was very nice. There was room for everyone in our family. Kitchen had everything we needed with lots of counter space for serving up meals to our large party. Beds were very comfortable. Beach was lovely.
Had a great family reunion, and would rent it again!
A guest from Claremont, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2014 We all met for a family reunion that also included my 80th birthday party. One thing I noticed that there seemed to be no insulation between floors, so sounds were very loud. The house had everything we needed. Smoke detectors needed batteries and the wonderful window coverings, while battery operated, only a few worked. But the view is gorgeous, so it didn't really matter much! We would rent this house again!
Heidi S. from Newman Lake, Washington recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2013 Our group of 11 people loved this home. We had plenty of space and the location could not be better. A quick walk down the path to the beach was the highlight for the children, it made daily visits to the beach easy and enjoyable. The kitchen in this home catered to our group of aspiring chef's. We ate in during the entire vacation and never lacked for utensils or cook ware. The only down side was the confusion for our garbage. The home features a lovely recycling sorting system in the kitchen, but no containers in the garage to place the sorted recyclable items into. The people of Yachats couldn't be friendlier! We enjoyed the Green Salmon coffee shop and Ona during our "in town" adventures. Friendly people abounded, and the best pastry on this planet was consumed :-)Overall, this was the best home we have rented for vacation, which speaks volumes as we typically rent a home twice per year. I highly recommend this rental for anyone looking to enjoy the ocean in a large group near an extraordinary town.
James B. from LAs Vegas, NV recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2013 The home was amazing and a great deal! It has a great layout for a large group and all furniture was very comfortable. Overall, it was very clean. We were concerned about the remote location, turned out to be wonderful. Not being on the beach may have been a good thing, and the view was breathtaking. The beaches and tidal pools were off the charts amazing. On the down side...The home is in a cell phone dead zone, and that was an unpleasant surprise. You have to travel 2 miles to get in-zone. On all of our GPSs the address was wrong, it shows as being in Florence not Yachats. We arrived in a rain storm, and the given address put us 4 miles north of the house, and without cell phones, caused a lot of unnecessary confusion. You should point out it is at Mile Marker 171 as, in the rain, the address is very hard to see. The downstairs had a great many spider webs and spiders. No mouse traps were set, and there was a downstairs mouse that caused much anguish with the children. The trash in the garage was overflowing when we got to the house. The upper deck hose bib needs a washer, as it sprayed everywhere. The grill is a bit of a joke considering how nice the rest of the house is. It is falling apart and in need of cleaning.
