IF YOU ARE TRAVELING WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY, WE CAN ALSO HELP YOU RESERVE MANY OTHER UNITS IN BUFFALO LODGE.

From the windows in the living room and from the balcony, you can see views of the Gore Mountain Range and miniature golf course below.

Buffalo Lodge was completed in the late 90?s and is one of the more exclusive buildings in the resort. This means there is less congestion in the building during busy times and all units are a short walk from the elevator. There are two high speed elevators that service only 90 units. Enjoy no hassle parking in the heated parking garage under the building. Laundry facilities are located on both the first and fifth floor. After a day of activities, come back to the exclusive BUFFALO CLUB located on the ground floor of Buffalo Lodge and enjoy the hot tubs, pool tables, or enjoy a good book in one of several sitting areas. Our guests also have exclusive access to the heated swimming pool and sauna at the adjoining Dakota Lodge.

A short walk (150 yards) allows for easy access to the new, high-speed, 8 person gondola, You are also steps from restaurants, shops, ski rental facilities, and a small grocery store.

DISCOUNTS YOU WILL USE!

All of our discounts are listed on our website at . All discounts and services are provided by local independent businesses. No huge corporate markups!

1. 25% discount on all ski rentals and 1 FREE kids ski rental with an adult rental!

2. 20% discount on Door to Door VIP ski rentals

3. 35% discount on ground transportation from the airport

4. 10% discount on bike rentals and bike trips, white water rafting, zip lining, horseback riding, spa services and sleigh rides.

5. $10 off snowmobiling

WATCH OUT FOR GIMMICKS!

The NUMBER ONE QUESTION we get is ?Do you offer discounted lift tickets?? We do not and the reason is this: As long as you do not buy your ticket at the ticket window, ALL the discounts are the same. Do yourself a favor and stop at the kiosk at the grocery store or go to and buy your tickets. We do not offer tickets because we cannot offer a better value than you can easily get using one of these options.

You might have heard of a gimmick called ?Kids Ski Free? from the big corporate outfit. There are very few instances that this deal actually makes sense. Why pay twice as much for your accommodations and a $15 per day ?amenities fee? to save $45 on a kids ski pass. Don?t take our word for it. Do the math and it will be obvious that ?Kids Ski Free? is not a deal at all!

Nice stay despite some drawbacks
Seth P. from Cumming, GA recommends this property.
Stayed for 6 days in March, 2014
Good little condo but there were a few drawbacks keeping it from being a Great little condo. 1. The larger of the two closets in the bedroom is locked and I presume an owners closet. The closet that was left is stacked full of extra blankets, pillows, other misc things, and only a couple hangers. Leaving it essentially unusable. There was no dresser to compensate for this. End result is living out of my suitcase at the foot of the bed and having clothes draped over chairs. I was staying there alone for one week. I can't imagine where anything would go had my wife accompanied me. 2. There are three washing machines available for the entire building. Two of the three were broken when I went to use them and coin operated at that. (I've stayed at other Lodges in River Run at Keystone where no coins/payment to use them was needed.) This obviously made laundering my clothes a difficult and a late night endeavor.3. The unit was very lightly stocked with any food prep basics. At most properties I stay at people leave behind little things like olive oil, foil, or misc items of that kind. There wasn't much beyond salt and pepper. While it's not an expectation you can hold a rental property to, it's always a nice and welcome surprise when it does happen. I don't know if the housekeeping crew is instructed to remove such items in this case? Hopefully the items I left behind will be found useful to those who came after me and people continue paying it forward.Overall, I did enjoy my stay. I would hope issues like the broken washing machines aren't the norm. I know the monthly association dues for the owner a quite high and I doubt they would be happy knowing things aren't being taken care of. A lack of dresser and closet space wasn't a deal breaker for me but might become irritating to renters with multiple people. This condo is just a few minor improvements away from being a truly outstanding option for anyone visiting Keystone.

It was very nice. Walking distance to the slopes ,shopping and restaurants. They had small wagons you could borrow for free to help carry skis and boots to and from slopes. Short driving distance to ski rental shop. The condo was in the center of it all and had it all.

Great location; easy improvements needed to interior
Rebecca B. from Rosemount, MN recommends this property.
Stayed for 3 days in February, 2014
Stayed 3 nights in #8396 and loved the location, staff on-site were excellent. Property mgmt needs to revamp policy on cleaning. For >$225/nt, nobody should expect to have to take out garbage, sweep floors, and pay extra for soap or towels. The view was wonderful, pull out bed good, kitchen equipment well stocked. Carpet needs replacing, king bed needs replacing as sore muscles and backs need a good mattress. Vent in bathroom was clogged completely and the mantle above fireplace had 1/2in of dust! Otherwise, property was well-kept, but towels needed replacement/more at hot tubs. Ski locker room was very handy! Skating prices WAY too high for a rink w/o a Zamboni. Had a lovely time overall and will return for sure.

Property Manager Response:
Response from Summit County Mountain Retreats
Thank you for staying with us. We do not ask guests to take out garbage except for obvious reasons related to long-term stays. We also do not ask for floors to be swept. This would be impossible as we do not provide brooms. We provide an initial supply of all consumables at no additional charge. This includes two rolls of TP per bathroom and two rolls of paper towels. This should be more than enough for a 3 night stay. Having said that, we have never in 6 years charged guest when they have asked for extra supplies. The ice rink has a Zamboni. It can be seen cleaning the ice rink every day and when it is not cleaning the ice rink it is parked in the house next to the rink. We will certainly look into the other issues that you brought to our attention.

Our Dream Vacation... Still a Dream
Bridget M. from Danville, KT recommends this property.
Stayed for 4 days in October, 2013
After losing a baby in 2011 and welcoming our second living child in 2012, we were looking toward our first family vacation this October 2013. We arrived to the spectacular beauty of Keystone, CO and knew we picked the right spot to experience a most special and rejuvenating time as a family. Unfortunately, our baby developed hypoxia/altitude sickness and we were given doctors' orders to take her to lower altitude in Denver. Summit Co staff were wonderfully helpful in referring us to an Emergency Room where our baby was treated for dangerously low oxygen levels and treated with exceptional care. We are thankful for this referral. Before departing Keystone, we briefly visited the condo in Buffalo lodge to retrieve a few non perishable groceries that Peak Provisions so kindly delivered and to distribute perishables to some vacationers we met in the lobby (we hated to see such beautiful food go to waste). During our brief encounter with the condo, we found it to be immaculately clean and well furnished with a marvelous view of the resort and mountains. It was cozy and would have made the most lovely vacation home away from home. We were very disappointed to have to leave it unoccupied; however, we were thankful for our daughter's health and stayed focused on taking her to lower ground. The only negative aspect in re to the rental is that we will not be refunded our money. We failed to purchase the trip insurance. So we lost our $400+ rental and fees and also had to pay another $400+ for accommodations in Denver. We saved for a year to take this trip, so we are disappointed that something couldn't be worked out per the emergent nature of our departure. We have no doubt, though, that if our baby had not developed hypoxia/altitude sickness this trip would have been perfect! We hope to return someday for our dream vacation per our children's and financial health. We highly recommend Summit County Rentals, and we highly recommend trip insurance.

We were just married and can't get away for a longer time for several months. We decided to drive up to Keystone. We were there 4 nights but in such a short time we totally relaxed, hiked and walked. It's so close to Lake Dillon which is a short drive and is spectacular. The condo was comfortable and the balcony was so nice to sit out and have our coffee in the morning. I would recommend this property to a couple wanting quiet time away.

This single bedroom with a pull out is a little tight on space, but it is adequately equipped to accommodate a family of four. We stayed at the Buffalo Lodge in the River Run Village at Keystone from March 6-10, 2013. The condo was very nice and comfortable for the three of us. Looks just like the pictures. The location is perfect and we enjoyed the village and shops. The building was not crowded and was very quiet. The underground parking, ski lockers, and hot tub facilities were all convenient and easy to access. Everything was as represented in the web site. The only challenge we had was accessing the WiFi at night. Signal was not real strong. A good experience and we would stay there again in the future.

Pretty Decent Stay
A guest from Gilbert, Arizona recommends this property.
Stayed for 3 days in February, 2013
My first experience was with the property mgmt. I called regarding the rate. Was told they would call RIGHT BACK. An hour later, no call. I called again and was told 5 mins. No call. So, I booked the room online instead. Not a good start. On the down side: the carpet was, surprisingly, quite dirty. I understand skiing season and the dirty garage contributes to this greatly. The internet signal strength was miserable. 2 to 3 of 5 bars at best. Unusable 70% of the time. Couch was very uncomfortable as it is a sofa bed. On the upside: Great location, only a few minutes walk to gondola or shuttle, great gas fireplace, nice view of mountains and overlooking skating rink, kitchen well supplied but bring own cooking oil, butter, condiments, etc...only thing there was salt. Comfortable king bed. Had queen sheet on, sideways...kinda strange. Many, many channels on tv. Excellent access from underground garage to ski lockers and rooms. Very nice rec room with two pool tables, usually available. Nice hot tubs. Rate was great! Overall, I would certainly stay here again. With a few minor improvements, I would have no complaints at all!

Property Manager Response:

Thank you for staying with Summit County Mountain Retreats! We appreciate fair and honest reviews. We agree that most of your issues should not have happened. By way of an explaination (not an excuse) you booked during the absolute peak time and this year was much busier than the past several. Thus, this pushed our staff to the limits and some things were not as good as the should have been. We apologize for any inconvienence! Regarding a couple of your specific comments, we are working on improving the Internet. The sofa bed was recently serviced, but we will check it again. We do clearly state in our rental agreement that cooking supplies are NOT provided due to saftey concerns. Overall though, we completely agree that you should have had a better experience with our service. We can and will do better!

Stayed for 3 days in January, 2013
The condo was dusty and the sofa bed was broken so the kids had to sleep on an air matress. The carpet was very dirty, which made sleeping on the floor unpleasant. The condo amenities were good though. The only complaint I had is that every day when I went downstairs to the common area, the cleaning staff was cleaning with a very strong, odorous chemical, so I couldn't stay down there too long. Downstairs was the only area where I could get the wifi to work.

I started skiing about 10 years ago when I was old enough to pick and pay for my own vacations. I fell in love with the mountains and have been going to different resorts since. This year was my first time in Keystone and I have found the perfect combination of everything. The mountain is amazing. The condo was very nice, even without ski slope views it was great to look at the mountains and watch the ice skaters. I found the management company to be friendly and helpful. Dawn, Kate and Kris was especially helpful. I will be back next year and will most likely request this condo.

Hi, The only issue I had with the rental was that I did not realize "Summit County Mountain Retreats" was a rental company. It was very unclear to me that our hotel was actually by a different name. This caused frustration when my husband and I tried to use our GPS to get to the area. The address you offer does not come up in a Garmin, your "resort" was not the resort name, and when I look back at ALL of my paper work I do not recognize the resort name at all. It would be very helpful to sight the physical address and formal name of the hotel on the receipt. This would eliminate the frustration. Also, when frustrated on a Sunday afternoon there is nobody to contact as your direct number has limited coverage. We felt somewhat helpless! We finally figured things out and enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you.

Property Manager Response:
Response from Summit County Mountain Retreats
Since this property is located in the mountains, navigation systems do not always show proper directions. We e-mail detailed directions to each guest, and the e-mail asks the guest to make sure to print the attachment as directions are included. The lodge name and number are included on your rental agreement and receipt. We are sorry this was not clear. We do have 24/7 maintenance, but after hours calls are taken by on call staff, and thus it is possible that on a Sunday afternoon a return call will be delayed. We do have staff in the office during regular business hours 7 days a week. Just to clarify, Summit County Mountain Retreats is the manager for the owner, and we do not rent hotels. We rent privately owned condos in the Keystone resort. We are always happy to assist our guests, but the service and experience we offer is different from a hotel.

Our condo was awesome, the ability to have my son walk out w/ his boarding gear and go right to the slopes was so covenient. The Condo fit us perpectly and was very pretty. If we had to say anything it would be; clean the furniture and cushions more, I dropped a pillow on the floor from the chair and so much dust came off of it, the shower head definitely needs to be updated and the vent in the bathroom was covered with dust as though it hadn't been cleaned in years. Thank you for the ability to let you know these things.

We have stayed in the River Run area many times and always rent a 1 bedroom condo. This is by far the smallest unit we have ever rented. You couldn't walk around the bed without running into a dresser. The heat didn't work right until near the end of the stay. The fireplace put out no heat. The description says it can sleep 4, that would be a real feat! The size (or lack thereof) should be mentioned in the unit description.

Property Manager Response:
Response from Summit County Mountain Retreats
The size of the condo is the standard size of all normally sized condos in the building. There are certainly oversized condos, and penthouses that have more room, but there is additional cost for this. The condo ASBSOLUTELY sleeps 4. There is a master bedroom and a queen sleeper sofa, as advertized. If you wanted everyone to have their own room then you should have selected a 2 bedroom. Fight I suggest you rent a 2 bedroom in the future to give yourself and guests more room and additional bedding o[tions

Our stay in this condo could not have been better! We were so comfortble and relaxed, and we were so close to all the excitement. We will definitely try and stay here the next time we visit.

This was a last second reservation, and KeyStone was not my preferred location, but I can't say anything negative about my experience. The condo was clean and comfortable. And, Keystone is a pretty neat little enclave, even in the summer.

Sofa and TV's could be upgraded. Not enough seating for 4 people.

The slew of LSU college kids partying in the nearby rooms was unfortunate and noisy. Otherwise the room itself was great.

Coming from Southwest New Mexico, the Buffalo Lodge is perfect for summer getaway. Located in the middle of the River Run Village, one could not ask for a more perfect place to spend the last of the summer. Absolutely gorgeous views, fresh air, beautiful blue skies, clean and friendly atmosphere. I am in love with Keystone, Colorado and the River Run Village! This is my 2nd summer and i'll be back next year! Thank you so much!
