Welcome to our beautiful Lake Dillon mountain retreat ? your home away from home! Built in 1999, this is a quiet one bedroom lock-off apartment attached to a house in the desirable lakeside Dillon community. We do allow well-trained pets, and we have a fenced yard for them to play in if you wish to leave them outside.
The location of this apartment can?t be beat! You are a short walk to the marina, Lake Dillon Reservoir, tennis courts, playground, and the Dillon Amphitheatre where summer concerts are held every weekend. There is also a Farmer's Market held every Friday that is a 2 minute walk from the apartment. Bike rentals are also a 2 minute walk from the apartment, so you can enjoy the many paved bike trails during the warmer months. You can also enjoy some incredible hiking, fly fishing, and golf - awesome courses in the beautiful Summit County and the surrounding areas including picturesque Vail. Other activities include fishing on the Gold Medal Blue River, Lake Dillon Reservoir, and the many high mountain lakes, hiking, or biking miles and miles of scenic trails, tennis, four-wheel driving, horseback riding, and much, much more.
Summit County has some of the best skiing in the world at Keystone, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, A-Basin, and Vail. This apartment is centrally located in Dillon, so you can easily enjoy other winter activities including cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating, tubing and snowmobiling. Of course, shopping is available at the Silverthorne Outlet stores for those who don?t care to play in the snow! Just outside your door is a FREE ski area shuttle if you don't care to drive to any of the activities.
You will enjoy breath taking views of the mountains from the living room windows and just outside the front door.
The master bedroom features a king sized bed with a high quality mattress and new bedding. Connected to the master bedroom is the bathroom. You will also enjoy the large, full-sized kitchen with all of the essentials you need to cook a meal away from home. The dining room table will comfortably seat 5 people. Stayed for 5 days in December, 2012 Great Location for accessing Keystone, Copper, Breckenridge, etc. The kitchen has all the amenities that you would need, crock pot, rice cooker, blender, etc. I enjoyed having the convenience of those being away from home. If you stay here though, bring your own sharp kitchen knives if you can. They do provide some, just not the kind that you can sharpen so it makes for difficult slicing of onions, carrot, etc. I will say that it was mildy frustrating that we were on vacation and at about 6:30 in the morning the tenants would be stopping upstairs or speaking very loudly to each other down the halls. I completely understand that this is someones home, and I get that they can't interrupt their lives for a few vacationers, it just made for early morning for us. Overall we enjoyed our stay and appreciated the cleanliness and amenities of the home. |

Stayed for 4 days in November, 2012 LOVED everything about it and would return again but the renters dog is a BARKER! Our dog didn't respond and bark back, but at random hours 2am, 11pm, etc. on all four nights their dog would bark and growl to "fight" with our dog. Otherwise the place was perfect - clean, well stocked, fab location! If you don't have a dog, and their dog doesn't bark (?!?) I would happily return. Disappointing since it was sleep deprivation for all. |

Comfortable Stop-Over in Dillon A guest from Lincoln, NE recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2012 We needed a two night stop over in Dillon on our way to Utah...this was a great place to unpack and settle in with our dog. We were able to cook meals, walk to the lake, walk to the art festival, and also be close to grocery stores, the outlets, and fun places like Breckenridge. The only drawback was that we could hear the people in the house adjoining the apartment and their dog barking, but that was minimal--since we are dog people, the barking was only a little bothersome when we were trying to sleep. Parking is also an issue as getting in and out of the spot is tricky with the curve in the driveway. The shower itself is small, but we didn't have any issue with the hot water that previous renters have commented on. Prospective renters should be prepared to pay a lot in cleaning and pet fees as they added up to be almost 1/2 the rental total. Nevertheless, we will keep this place in mind for future visits as we liked that it was tucked away, had a great view, but still close to walking paths and shopping. It is true that in your particular case the cleaning fee was a large percentage of the total cost of the stay. However, this is due to the fact that you only stayed 2 nights and during the summer. My complaint and the reason I would not recommend the place to a friend is the neighbors were extremely noisy. My wife and I didn't sleep well because the neighbors (in the attached unit) were literally screaming at their kids both early in the morning - 6am and late at night after 11pm. They also had a large Labrador that barked constantly throughout the day and night. It is difficult to enjoy your anniversary weekend with constant noisy distractions and little quiet time for sleep. |

Buffalo.... except the bursts of cold water while taking a shower. The water system is hot-water-on-demand, but there are pockets of cold water in the line. I always read the instructions pretty closely when I get to a place and this detail wasn't mentioned. So I struggled with the shower for 20 minutes while my husband called the management who said they never had problems in this unit. However, we called again the next day and it did seem to be a reoccurring issue. The last thing you want on a ski trip (especially on storm days) without a hot tub is a cold shower. The folks on the phone were really polite and helpful, which made the situation bearable. |

Stayed for 3 days in March, 2011 We did experience the issue with water in the shower, make sure it's the temperature you want BEFORE you get in. The pin for the dog is nice but it needs to be cleaned. A large collection of various past dog residents sitting there. Overall the location was perfect, good restaurants and nice areas to walk the dog and get to the slopes quickly. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2010 I did not get the combination code in my email and had to call for it, but the person was very helpful. It might be nice in the description of the back yard to include that there is no access from the house itself to the back yard. It wasn't a problem with my dogs that don't run away, but you did have to get dressed to let them out. It would have been nice to have had some ice cube trays, large sauce pan and wine glasses. |
