Facing the shores of Crescent Beach with its back to the Intracoastal Waterway, Amazing Grace is a huge, luxuriously appointed Mediterranean-style house. Watch the sun rise from the front deck and set from the back deck at our magnificent oceanfront house! And, the house has an elevator and high-speed wifi inside. And as of January 1, 2012, Amazing Grace has a new private heated pool!
Set back from a beautifully landscaped, sloping garden and with a new private pool, Amazing Grace greets you with a formal entry set in tile with a decorative mosaic. You have your choice of stairs or an elevator to transport you to the second floor, where a huge living and family room area awaits, replete with ocean views and ultra-comfortable couches and chairs. Build a fire in the coral fireplace or just enjoy the game on our LCD TV between glimpses of the blue Atlantic out the windows!
Or, if you're eager to get the gang moving, propose a game of billiards! We have a lovely game room, also surrounded by ocean views, with a slightly smaller pool table just waiting for some action. The table swivels to reveal an air hockey table on the other side. There is also a full sized ping pong table in the garage!
Our kitchen and dining areas may just inspire you to prepare a feast . . . but even if nothing more time-consuming than takeout is on the menu, you'll enjoy serving it from our gracious wood-and-tile kitchen. It's got full-sized appliances, a walk-in pantry, and all the time-saving gadgets you could desire, plus a full complement of cookware, dishes, and utensils.
Dine in the sun-washed room with tile floors and a formal table for 8. Spacious and restful, this is a room to linger in long after the food is gone and the wine poured. Let the outside light illuminate the room as long as possible, then turn on the soft modern chandelier and enjoy a long discussion or break out the board games.
The master bedroom is upstairs, an enormous room with a ultra-comfortable king-sized bed, HD TV, and a pair of easy chairs facing the beautiful picture windows. The views are amazing at any time of day, and one morning you may just have to watch the sunrise from the comfort of your bed!
An en-suite master bathroom adjoins the bedroom, with a Jacuzzi tub as well as a shower. The windows are opaque for privacy, but light still shines through, bathing the area in a golden haze. What a relaxing way to wake up or wind down!
There are 3 more bedrooms on the first floor, plus another bathroom and two sleeper sofas to accommodate up to 4 extra guests in addition to the 8 for whom there are beds. The first bedroom contains a king bed and HDTV, plus plenty of bureau and closet space. The 2nd bedroom also boasts a king bed (who wants to share anything less?!), while the 3rd contains two twins with nice large windows and lots of floor space. A 2nd full bathroom is convenient to the bedrooms on this floor, and a washer and dryer are tucked away for loads of towels and swimsuits!
But the inside of Amazing Grace is just the beginning of its charms. A large front deck looks directly out at the beach, while a back deck offers great views of the Intracoastal Waterway. Our two-car garage keeps your vehicles out of the punishing sun, and our private railed walkway leads you over the dunes and onto the beach. There is even an outside shower.
And there more fun begins! Crescent Beach is a lovely stretch of coastline, with many treasures for beachcombers, soft sands for digging and playing, and rolling waves. Try a bit of fishing in the surf, boogie-board the waves, watch the sunrise, and sunbathe on the sand. Just a few minutes in the opposite direction is the Intracoastal Waterway, with a maze of inlets and fantastic hiking and nature trails. Perfect for watercrafts.

Not so "Amazing" Grace A guest from Aurora, MN recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in April, 2013 The location of "Amazing Grace" is "Amazing". Beautiful location and right on the ocean. The house was not as nice as expected. It needs TLC. Carpet is spotted and dirty. Windows open, but with quite a bit of effort. The biggest problem we encountered were the huge spiders we found roaming around the house and dead under furniture, a few **** roaches and ants. We contacted management 3 times, but nothing became of it. Also, this is not a small child friendly house. There is a 15-20 foot drop-off from the edge of the deck. We immediately went and purchased a gate,(we have a 14 month old grandchild). Wish we had known about this before we rented. We had to be very careful with the older kids, making sure they kept the gate closed at all times. We had to contact housekeeping for bedding for the extra sofa sleepers, which they promptly brought the following day. Property management was very friendly and prompt about getting us anything we needed, (except bug spray). I would recommend this home for adults with older children. The beach and location are wonderful! However, I really think it is overpriced for the condition the house is in. Disappointed John W. from Northville, MI does not recommend this property. Stayed for 35 days in February, 2013 We were greeted by dirty dishes put away in the kitchen by the cleaning staff because the dishwasher was not working properly and a broken swivel chair that a furniture repairman could not fix in his allotted one hour service call. The dishwasher was repaired a week later, but the furniture guy never returned despite promising to do so when he had more time. The pool heater didn't work properly for the duration of our 5 week stay. Smoke alarms went off one morning at 5 am and every 30 minutes after that because of an electrical issue. The fridge leaked water on the kitchen floor and the microwave stopped working in the last week. Service often did not return calls to deal with these issues unless we called 2 or 3 times and they were slow to respond when notified. Nancy Burns tried but the rest of the staff did not seem to care. When they brought us a replacement microwave they left it in the box in the kitchen for us to unpack and install. I wouldn't stay with VacationRentalPros again after 3 years with them. Their service has gone downhill. This was not the relaxing 5 weeks we were looking for. A third bathroom would have been more convenient for 3 couples but 2.5...not bad. Rapid response from property personnel in having the outside garbage removed that was left from the previous renters,and the outside grill cleaned. There were a few minor problems upon our arrival. I won't go into detail of what those were but will say that once we stopped and talked to the staff they did take care of these issues immediately. The house was very nice and in a great location. We were out far enough to be away, but close enough to drive right in and have a great time when we wanted to. I would definately recommend this to any of my friends and family. Made it possible to provide a great vacation for our family!!!!!!!! Can not wait to return!!!! We actually hope to return to this area some day as residents. I have visited St. Augustine for many many years and my husband and I got married on Crescent Beach 6 years ago. Absolutely LOVE IT!!!!! Amazing Grace Review by Peek family Lynda P. from Ocala, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2012 The house was "amazing". The floor plan was perfect for our family. We loved the pool table/air hockey table. The kitchen was great with the portable island and I loved the raised dishwasher and the large pantry.The pool was very hot, it needed some circulation but fortunately for us, it rained a couple of afternoons and cooled it off. The roaches were plentiful, you turned on the lights and they skittered. The really gross thing was the master bath jacuzzi tub. We put the little ones( our 1 and 3 year old) in the tub the first night, all excited with the huge tub filled with toys, and then for fun we turned on the jacuzzi and out of several jets, not just one, out flew the roaches followed immediatedly with the tons of roach feces. We jerked them out of there so fast and tried to sterilize them in the shower. Everyday I would run the jets and out came more fecal matter. On the 5th day it ran clear. There were roaches in the dishwasher also. You really need to get a good pest control company. May I suggest A-2-Z Termite and Pest Control. Ocala, FL. Then there was the night that my daughter and son-in-law had to find a ladder, thank God you had one there, and disconnect the smoke alarms because the signal was going off at 2:30 in the morning, with the kids asleep on the adjacent wall, to replace the batteries.They are very light sleepers, we didn't get much rest that night.The Wi-Fi connection was a problem because it was easy to get disconnected being on the electrical switch. You were very great in helping us get it on and so promptly, thank you. I would love to have brought the master bath home with me, very workable plan. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2012 Everything was great, the only 2 minor things first the house was extremely clean as long as you didn't look under the furniture, wasn't to bad but obvious hadn't been cleaned under for a while. In fact we stayed here because we could bring our pet and there was no way you could tell this was a pet friendly place it was that clean! Second you couldn't use the outside private shower because it was full of beach stuff, didn't really enjoy washing off after the beach with a garden hose. Other than these two minor things it was one of the best beach vacation places we have stayed at and we go to a beach every year. The house is located on a beautiful beach and only minutes away from Old St. Augustine - which is a must see. The house had way more than we imagined, from all the space to all the cooking utensils. The only draw back was that there was no gas in the grill and we thought it was rather small for a house that sleeps 12. Also, I would recommend posting the garbage pick up days as we luckly were venturing out one day and noticed our neighbors had their trash cans out, but we did miss the second pick up and left a few garbage bags when we checked out. We would definitely recommend this house for a vacation. An additional full bathroom on the ground level would have be helpful - it was somewhat awkward to have to walk through one of the bedrooms to access the bathroom. On the first day that we checked in we noticed that the microwave oven did not have a door handle, it appeared to have been ripped off. Contacted both housekeeping and maintenance to report the issue. I asked how housekeeping was able to clean the inside of the microwave when you could not even open it. Stayed for 42 days in February, 2012 Amazing Grace was a delightful place to stay with wonderful views of the sunrises over the Atlantic Ocean and the sunsets over the Intercoastal waterway. It is ideal for 2 couples as guests of the folks living in the main floor master suite. It has a fourth bedroom suited for a couple of children as it is connected to one of the King bedrooms on the lower level. One drawback is everyone on the lower level has to share one full bathroom. The house is well furnished with the only things we found missing - a kettle and a teapot. We found the bar-be-que to be very functional for outdoor cooking and eating on the rear deck. A perfect vacation... A guest from Caledon, Ontario recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in February, 2012 We searched online for weeks from Canada to find the perfect winter escape for our family. Which includes our older much beloved dogs. When we arrived at "Amazing Grace" we were thrilled.VIEWS on BOTH SIDES. Ocean on one side,Intracoastal on the other!I believe we were the first guests to use the newly built pool. It looked small when we first arrived, but that was actually due to the bean shape and view from the driveway. When you get in it's plenty of room. It was great to have the heated pool in winter!We had the most incredible time, we actually extended our stay. Crescent Beach is conveniently located. Just a short drive to St. Augustine where we loved walking on St. George Street. The white sand and incredibly nice people we came across were added bonuses to our visit. As a side note,the Publix just up the road about 5 minutes(Anastasia Plaza) has probably the most helpful incredible employees I've ever come across. Very clean, nice store as well. Also,Vacation Rental pros were very helpful with our booking. Victor and Cher were very helpful to us. We hope after this review and more people find out about how great this house is,that there will be room for us for next year! We already miss it.A few tips:1. We drove from Canada and brought some workout equipment with us. Morning workouts on the deck are incredible!2. The barbecue is rusty and we never used it. Having lived on the beach before, there's not much they can do as everything rusts. Unless they get one and keep it in the garage. But, even then guests will leave it out and it will rust in a week. So,I advise bringing a portable barbecue or just eat out and cook in the kitchen like we did.3. DO cook in that kitchen! We had some gorgeous meals at the house. The Sun sets beautifully on the intracoastal during dinner! They provide so many dishes, cookware, etc. it was so nice.I'm sure there's so much I'm forgetting to mention. Cresent Beach is a treasure. Our only snafu's were the trash leftover from the previous vacationers in the hot and smelly garage. We got there on Saturday and my husband eventually took the trash to the street for pick up on Monday. The master bed was a complete let down. Your advertisement said the bed had a plush foam mattress (paraphrasing). Not so. We got curious about the sheer discomfort of sleeping on the "foam" and lifted the sheets to find an ill cut piece of foam that was not intended for bedding at all. The foam was for a boat or seat cushion. It felt so weird and did not fit the size of the mattress. Your body was half on and half off unless you both slept in the very middle of the bed. That was a biggie. For the money... the bed is a deal breaker. The house is quite spacious (5 adults 4 kids) and with gorgeous views and easy access to the beach. The only downfall it could use another full bath but you can make it work. We had an issue with the doors not opening to the deck (rusted locks) but the property manager Jim came and fixed the problem right away and on the weekend of the fourth that was impressive and he gave great tips for where to view the fireworks. The only other suggestion we would have is to leave a note as to when the trash pickup is we had no idea until we asked. Overall we had a great stay and would rent this house again! The inside of the home is spacious and cozy, while full of conveniences.The access top the beach itself is unmatched - just a couple of steps off the back porch.The amenities are impressive - especially a fully equipped kitchen, they have evertyhting you need , we spent a week cooking 2-3 meals per day for 12 ppl, and we never wanted for a utensil or appliance.The beds are large and comfortable.The only complaint we had was the two back doors that open up to the upstairs deck area had rusted over due to the marine environment, I assume. They were very hard to open and close - one stopped working altogether.Other than that one small issue, Amazing Grace beach house is truly that - Amazing!! The air hockey/pool table and foosball table saved the trip. The beach not as close as I expected and thus the views of the ocean are not impressive. The house was very well equipped and it is easy to get to St. Augustine. We had a good time despite the weather, Two complaints: 1. The Wi-Fi didn't work and no one from the management was able (or interested?) in fixing it. 2. Property was perfect for a "Special" Spring Break with our family and friends. A guest from Orange Park, FL recommends this property. He and his friends had the "best Spring Break ever!", largley due to the home, property, location and support of Rental Pro's. We appreciate the sensitivity the owner and our RP Agent had when we requested that our vacation not be interrupted for the installation of a kitchen island. WE WILL BE BACK! You may want to remind your cleaning crew to check the outside shower when cleaning as we found an old rusty beach umbrella and some broken beach toys when we went to use it. It also was NOT clean and we had to scrub it out. Glad to help, but based on the spotless nature of teh property upon check in, just wanted to let you know.
