Vacation Home Rental Description:

IMPORTANT: THIS PROPERTY WILL BE TAKEN OFF THE VACATION RENTAL MARKET ON AUGUST 23, 2014.

This charming, immaculate 3 bedroom home is ideal for the business traveler or family. At Mount Pleasant and Eglinton Avenue, it is centrally located in a classic Toronto neighbourhood. Fully equipped house with on-site parking. 2 minute walk to the bus, 5 minute ride to the subway. Details, Rates, and updated Availability Calendar below.

Perfect for anyone planning to stay in Toronto, whether for business or pleasure. This 1925 home in Davisville Village/ Leaside has recently been beautifully furnished and decorated with the traveler in mind.

The neighbourhood is in mid-town, and has always been popular with singles, couples and families. 'Davisville Village/Leaside' is known for its excellent recreational facilities, outstanding shopping districts, and active nightlife.

Leaside's main shopping district is on Mount Pleasant Road. This stretch of stores is highlighted by a large group of antique and collectable shops that attract people from all over the city. Home decorating stores, children's clothing and toy stores, and an excellent selection of restaurants all add to the ambience of this street. A pharmacy and grocery store are within walking distance.

Leaside residents also shop on Yonge Street and Bayview Avenue. These two streets contain a plethora of gift shops, clothing and accessory stores, bakeries, specialty food shops, restaurants, and cafes.

This area also offers motorists quick access to downtown Toronto via either Bayview Avenue or Yonge Street. Toronto's highways and expressways are located within a short drive of Leaside.

One is close enough to the heart of the city without the hustle-bustle and city noise.

This two storey house has a charming, private back garden with flagstone patio and lush perennial growth. Here you can relax in the spring and summer planning your next day’s adventure. Or sip an after dinner latte from the local café while lounging on the large front porch under the shade of the tree and watch the neighbourhood in action.

There are two private parking spots in the back.

The living room is tastefully furnished with a comfortable, large leather couch, coordinating chairs, and nesting tables. There is a slim, flat screen LCD with cable television and DVD player for your use. The expandable dark wood dining room table can seat eight and has a matching buffet; perfect for entertaining. Floors are elegant, dark hardwood. A safety gate has been installed to prevent young children from accessing the front basement stairs. Built in pot-lighting and chandelier light up the main floor in the evening.

The kitchen is large, with a small eat-in area. It is bright and fully stocked with a microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, oven, flat-topped stove, toaster, coffee maker, and electric kettle. All kitchenware is supplied including cookware, cutlery, dishes, glasses, dish towels, and placemats.

There is a convenient two-piece bathroom leading from the kitchen area.

Off the kitchen, facing the patio, is the sunroom. It is furnished with a futon couch, plush floor cushions, and an AM/FM radio/CD player with separate speakers and a subwoofer. This is a nice bright room for relaxing. There are large windows, and sliding patio door. The two skylights add extra light. The futon opens to provide a comfortable double bed for extra sleeping space.

The upper level features three bedrooms and the main, four piece bathroom. The stairs, upper hallway and bedrooms have been newly carpeted for warmth and comfort. Each room is painted a different colour, and is warmly decorated for your enjoyment. The entire upstairs has excellent lighting. A night light is also provided.

The master bedroom provides a very comfortable, supportive queen-size bed. There is a built in closet with full length mirrors, dresser, and night table with clock radio and telephone. Extra bin space is available under the bed for belongings. There is a television on the dresser.

The second room provides an exceptionally comfortable twin bed with built-in drawers, dresser, full-length mirror, and built-in closet. NOTE: one bed in this room.

The third room has a queen sized Murphy (wall) bed. There is a dresser, and plenty of wall hooks for hanging things.

I have comfortable futon mattresses to increase sleeping space.

The newly renovated basement is a comfortable sitting/play area with a desk as well as sleeping for three. The washer, dryer, iron and board are located here.

The bathroom has bath, shower, shower caddy, shelf, and drawer space for your toiletries.

A portable crib is available. It includes a change table attachment and bassinet options. It also doubles as a playpen. A fully adjustable high chair as well as a booster seat are available as well.

There are plenty of fresh bed and bath linens plus extra blankets, and pillows. Kitchen portable and master bedroom phones are available for local calls.

The central heating and air conditioning units work well and can be easily adjusted for your comfort.

I am certain that your accommodation here will contribute to making your time in Toronto a wonderful and memorable experience.

COMMENTS FROM PREVIOUS GUESTS:

August 9, 2013 "We rented this spacious, clean, well-equipped and smoke-free house for a week during our daughter's wedding. It was ideal for our family of 6, including a toddler. There was plenty of room for the bride and her attendants to dress and have their hair and makeup done at the house before the wedding. Having a Starbucks and Sobey's just half a block away made entertaining before and after the wedding much easier. We stayed for several days after the wedding to sight-see and found the house to be conveniently located in a quiet, tree-lined neighbourhood, close to shopping and within an easy walk to the subway. The owner was helpful, flexible and very accommodating . We would rent this property again and would recommend it unreservedly to friends and family."

July 13, 2013 We stayed in this house for 3 very enjoyable weeks on our recent holiday in Toronto. We're a party of 6: 3 adults, two 16 year old boys (both over 6 feet tall) and a 9 year old girl. The house was very comfortable. Our first week the temperatures outside were in the mid to high 30's Celsius and being from Ireland we sorta needed the air-con and it kept us comfy. 2 of the kids slept int he basement, and although even in the heat this can be a little chilly, there are heaters provided and they loved being down there. The kitchen is a good size and well equipped, and there are several grocery stores (including a Sobeys) within 5 minutes walk. The large dining table was brilliant. The location is fantastic. We chose to rent a car as we like our independence, and a quick run down Mt Pleasant takes you right to the Eaton Centre (it was less than 12 minutes going in and about 15 going out). That said, the subway is a short walk away on Yonge Street as are some bigger stores, banks, cinemas etc. There are a lot of options for eating out within a short distance from the house, and our boys made great use of Starbucks which is just on the opposite corner from the end of the street. Location could not be better. There are 2 parking spaces but we had rented a pretty big car and managed it easily parking diagonally across them. The back garden provides a great little spot for sitting out to eat or just relax in the evening. Our daughter loved the park just down the road which is well stocked with play equipment and there are tennis courts and plenty of shaded seating. Caroline is organised and very helpful, and there are clear instructions provided. Linen and towels are provided in abundance. We would be very happy indeed to stay here again. We have traveled extensively in Europe and Canada and found the facilities and convenience of this property hard to beat for a Toronto visit.

Testimonial: We travelled from Nova Scotia to spend Christmas week 2012 at Soudan Avenue and to visit with our children and grandchildren. The house was spotlessly clean, warm and comfortable, and we were particularly impressed with the very well equipped kitchen where we cooked Christmas dinner for 8 with no difficulty! Kudos as well to the Camerini Ristorante around the corner which you recommended. Heather Watts, Wolfville, NS.

Excellent location, and nice stay!

We spent a week in this house while visiting family, and the location was excellent. Walking distance to MANY shops, stores, etc. 2 adults and 3 young kids, the layout of the house was perfect, and there was plenty of room had we had other family stay with us. Kitchen was well stocked with necessities and plenty of linens available for use. Would stay here again and recommend to anyone who needed a place to stay in TO.

We have just had a wonderful week at this house. It is very comfortable, well-equiped, well-maintained and very clean. It worked well for us as a family with three daughters of young-adult age (18-23). The house is also in an excellent position, close to the subway and bus services in all directions, making it an excellent base for the city. All very positive. Would highly recommend.

As a family of 6, we stayed here just 4 nights while visiting family. The home is only a few houses in from a main street, and I felt quite safe walking to the grocery store at night for supplies. The TV did not get great reception for the hockey channels (we did not check into correcting this as my husband went out to watch the games anyway) but other channels were fine. There is a very nice bar for hockey watching just a half block away. Also, my husband easily navigated the bus system back to this home after a night out in another neighborhood. We did not do downtown sightseeing, so I can't speak to location for that. For parking, be ready to be an accomplished driver. There are two parking spots, but a minivan is the largest that will actually fit. If you are using two cars and can go for smaller vehicles, do so. The home is a duplex, but the neighbors are quiet and you won't really notice. The home is very cozy, plenty of hot water, plenty of bedding and extra blankets, lots of room to get away from each other if you need it, nice kitchen. We had a great stay.

My husband and I, along two small children had the great pleasure of staying at the home on Soudan Avenue. We spoke with Caroline upon arrival and she was a wealth of information and assistance. The home was perfect for my family, and even had a high chair and baby gate. We were steps to wonderful shops, grocery stores, cafes, parks, and the list goes on. We couldn't have picked a better place, and we look forward to our next trip back to Toronto,

Our family contacted Caroline when we discovered that we needed to be in Toronto on very short notice to attend my grandmother's funeral. Within a couple of days we were able to make arrangements. We found her home to be impeccably clean and ready for our arrival. We are a family of 5 with and were very comfortable in her home. The wireless access was most helpful with all of the arrangements that we needed to make. The location is outstanding with walks to everything - coffee shops, grocery stores, shops to simpy browse in as well as an amazing selection of restaurants. We enjoyed our walks even in the winter weather. We recommend staying at Caroline's in all seasons and on all occasions.

We have just returned to the UK after a trip to Toronto. We had a great stay at Caroline's house in Soudan Avenue. Our party consisted of an 84 yr old, myself and my husband and our teenage children. Everyone was comfortable. In particular, having wifi and a huge basement meant my children were never bored. They had laptops with them and were able to keep in touch with friends etc. The house is exceptionally well equipped, all utensils and appliances you could want. It is also very well placed with shops just on the doorstep and great transport links to downtown. The house is well insulated and very quiet. Communications were all very prompt and efficient. We spoke to Caroline on the day we arrived and she provided us with lots of local info and was always available if we needed help or information. My relatives in Toronto were very impressed with the area the house was in, it obviously is a well regarded neighbourhood. We definitely recommend the house and will return again.

Just back from 2 weeks in Toronto, stayed at this house and had a great holiday with very comfortable accommodation.House has all you need form washing machine+dryer to hair shampoo and toilet paper! We were very lucky with the weather in October so used the air-con and the heating when it was a bit cooler, both very easy to use. We are a family of 5 with kids aged 17,15 and 11 so plenty of space for all of us.We used public transport predominantly,so the sub-way was a 10 minute walk from the house then you have access all over the city. The area the house is in is very safe, houses mostly but with a small supermarket 2 minutes away on Mount Pleasant Ave,quite a few shops in the vicinity,we didn't explore as much of local area as we should have . My Canadian friends all commented on the area as being recognised a nice area to live,we quite often walked back from subway late at night and never felt our safety was compromised at all, especially when with two teenage girls. So I would definately highly recommend this holiday home. All communication with the owner was prompt and precise.

We stayed in this house for 11days with our extended family, 8 adults in all for our son,s wedding. the house is tastefully decorated. We especially loved the closeness of the shops. Even though some of the bedrooms were on the small side, we managed well. The living area is nice and roomy with a lovely big table which we had many a gathering. the outdoor area at the back of the house is great for relaxing in the sun. we recommend this house and would stay here again on another trip to Toronto.

We rented this house to attend our daughter’s wedding and decided to combine a family vacation with the special event. The house has perfect and immaculately clean. There were 6 of us and there was plenty of room for everyone. The location was perfect. By day two we were transit pros taking a short bus ride to the subway station and heading downtown on a regular basis for shopping, theatre, rehearsal dinner etc. The neighborhood was perfect. We were able to get our hair done, manis & pedis all within a 5 min walk. The bakeries were amazing and the grocery store is literally just around the corner. The home is well equipped for making all meals and the dishwasher made clean up quick and easy. With our daughter making Toronto her home we hope to have the opportunity to rent this home again. I highly recommend it!

My husband's family stayed for 2 weeks for our wedding here in Toronto. His parents, his son, brother and sister-in-law and their 3 month old baby came over from Scotland. The house was perfect for them, it was clean, comfortable and fully equipped. We made good use of the BBQ and spent many hours on the front porch in the shade. The location could not have been better, everyone quickly learned the subway system and explored Toronto on their own. The convenience of all the shops and restaurants within walking distance was fantastic. Homeway was a great breakfast spot and we all enjoyed fish and chips on our last night at the The Olde York. I expect they will all be back and want to stay in the house again soon! Thank you Caroline for everything! Mr. and Mrs. H

My wife,3 grown children, their wives and my 3 granchildren spent a wonderfull week in Toronto. We were there to witness the wedding of my 4th son and could not have asked for better accomodation the weather cooperated and we were most comfortable in the house. Everything is provided except food- it was superb. We certainly intend to use it again when we visit as a family. The convenience of having everything and I mean everything within walking distance made it even more pleasurable. From the supermarket, the dry cleaners, the hair/nail salon, the barber, the chinese restaurant, the pizza store, etc you were but a short walk to everything you needed. The pictures on the website do not begin to give justice to the property. It is clean, well maintained and totally modernized. Caroline and Mitch the owners were a pleasure to meet and made sure our every need was met. I have already been spreading the word and will continue to tell as many folks as I can of the incredible value that this property offers. It has both a front and a back garden with a gas BBQ and parking for 2 cars if needed. I will be sure to recommend it to anyone visiting Toronto with a family as it certainly makes your visit more pleasant. My wife and entire family share my views. 5 stars for sure!!!!

This is a great house to rent, a good part of town, very well presented and equipped and near the subway. We had a great holiday and the house managed to adapt to increasing numbers of people effortlessly. At 1st glance it does not seem enormous but 8 of us lived happily there! Dealing with the landlord was very easy, with full details being provided and contact if we needed it.

The house was just perfect. It lived up to expectation from the photographs and information provided and was spotlessly clean. Everything we could possibly need was provided and the owner went out of her way to ensure that we were comfortable. The house is in an ideal location, being only minutes from shops and only a short walk from the Metro. We would love to stay there again and highly recommend it.
