03/02/08 Positive. We have just returned after a mammoth 4+ week trip to Canada, US etc with our two little boys (2 and 3.5yrs old), of which we started at your great house on Soudan. We spent a fantastically white christmas week with plenty of snow for the kids first taste of winter. The house couldn't have been better with very cosy beds, living space and fantastic kitchen. The location was perfect, being only steps away from great restaurants, grocery store and public transport. When we make our way back to Toronto again we will definitely be hoping that this house is available!! Many thanks again. The Wood Family, Sydney, Australia (findjeremy@gmail.com) 11/14/07 Positive My family and I had the pleasure of staying at the house on Soudan for ten days. We had a wonderful time. The neighborhood is perfect. Halloween was one of our best yet! I would highly recommend staying there. Beautiful house, lovely nieghborhood and the owners are great! Heather Jablonski, Kaslo, BC (shsinclair@hotmail.com) 11/04/07 Positive I stayed at this beautiful vacation rental for 5 days in October 2007 with my husband, 1 year old daughter, brother and sister. It far exceeded our expectations. Not only was it centrally located with several convenient and unique shops, but the house had everything we ever needed and more! We were worried that my daughter would have a hard time sleeping in an unfamiliar place but this place provided a crib which ended being a life saver! If we go to Toronto again, we will definitely stay at this place! It was like being in our own home. A good alternative to a hotel. Anonymous, San Francisco, CA (lng1160@yahoo.com) 09/10/07 Positive This lovely house is as comfortable and well-equipped as the photos show. Situated on a quiet, leafy avenue, within two minutes' walk there is the bustle of a neighbourhood shopping street, with useful supermarket, drug stores, take-out pizzas and friendly bars and restaurants. It was very pleasant to stay for a week among the local people, rather than a centrally-located tourist hotel. The location was a ten minute walk from the Eglington Subway into Downtown Toronto and a short easy drive to the freeway for out-of -town day trips. We were a party of two parents and four "kids", aged 16 to 22 and everyone enjoyed it. We would definitely stay again if we came to Toronto. Christine and Noel Adey, Dorset, UK 09/01/07 Positive A really well positioned and lovely house with very good facilities. Only 2 or 3 minutes walk to local bars, shops and subway/bus routes is only a few mnutes further on. Parking available for the rental car. Overall an excellent holiday. Peter & Madeleine, Bristol, UK
08/31/07 Positive Nicely located situation for city trips. Davisville has a small town feel. Caroline made sure that we had everything we needed. Facilities good, clean, comfortable. WiFi very useful.Provisions stores within walking distance (supermarket 5 mins), cafes and ice cream bars nearby. Most highly recommended. We would certainly arrange Soudan Ave if in Toronto again. Julian, Sue & Family, Norfolk, England 08/22/07 Positive Our stay lasted two weeks, during which we made the most of the central location of the house. Tennis courts, restaurants, metro, are all within easy reach. The house was clean, comfortable, our host most accommodating. Everything necessary for a trouble-free holiday is here. We'd definitely come back! Thanks very much, Caroline. Elizabeth Tilley , Galway, Ireland (elizabeth.tilley@nuigalway.ie) 07/26/07 Positive We stayed for a week in July and had a fantastic time. The house is ideal for families ( we were a party of 4 including a baby and his grandpa!)beautifully decorated with plenty of space. Toronto was experiencing a heatwave when we visited, but luckily the house has a great air conditionng system! The house is fully equipped for a very comfortable stay, its very handy not to have to bring towels, linen etc. I would highly recommend this house, and its considerate owner. Sarah McDonald, London, Uk 07/21/07 Positive This house was fantastic! We stayed here for a week while in Canada for a wedding. Caroline was very welcoming and provided everything we needed. We have a 6 month old son and she made sure we were very comfortable. Close to so many things, great gelato and adorable children's stores! It truly was a home away from home! Sarah Edwards, Chicago, IL 07/12/07 Positive We stayed in this wonderful house for a family reunion, and found everything to be perfect. The owner had thoughtfully provided us with everything we needed for two toddlers, and the house felt like a home away from home. We had everything we needed. We did not lack for any amenities or necessities, and the house was very clean. We had seven people staying in the house, and there was plenty of room. We also hosted additional family members for meals during our stay and the house easily accommodated us all! The home became the hub of our reunion. We all agreed that the experience just wouldn't have been the same if we'd stayed elsewhere. Also, the location is fantastic. The area to one side of the house is bordered by other single family homes, and you are within a block or two of everything you need - restaurants, pubs, ice cream and coffee shops, grocery store, drug store, tailor, dry cleaner, etc. It is also near the metro and bus stop and convenient from and to all parts of Toronto. Can't say enough good things . . . F. Schmid, Los Angeles, California (Fernandalai@hotmail.com) 323.951.1031 06/14/07 Positive My husband had to work down town and me and the kids visited all our old friends, the CN Tower, Science Centre, Centre Island etc. A perfect location. The house was also just perfect, very clean, everything provided, close to all the little shops on Mt PLeasant and Bayview [especially the new icecream place which my children loved], and a very good hostess that would make sure you were happily accomodated. We will definitely come back. Thanks Mirjam Govaerts, Fetcham/UK (mirjamgovaerts@aol.com) +1372 750413 05/02/07 Positive We so enjoyed our stay in the house. The house itself was perfect; beautifully decorated, clean and outfitted with everything we could possibly need. It did not feel like a vacation rental at all but like a home away from home. The location of the house was great; close to both downtown and easily accessible to the airport as well. There were great restaurants close by and even a grocery store around the corner. The two parking spaces were a great asset. We would stay here again and highly recommend this beautiful home. Leanne Walters 02/23/07 Positive We stayed in this welcoming house for 5 days during Feb 2007 for a family event (my mother's 80th birthday reunion). There were 5 people sleeping there at any one time and there was plenty of space and comfort. We arrived the day after a snowstorm and the owner was extremely kind in making sure that the walkways were shoveled clear of snow and that I didn't get stuck in the parking space at the back. She also helped in setting up the beds and advising on sleeping arrangements in advance. Everything is provided and there were enough dishes and silverware for us to host a brunch for about 15-20 family members during our stay. The open downstairs arrangement and large dining table were great for this event which was attended by many elderly people. There is a grocery store very close (on foot) which helped when we had to run out for more eggs at the last minute during the brunch. I found the owner to be very considerate and helpful in making sure we had everything we needed. Thanks! I was glad to have found such a lovely place for my family reunion: my husband and I live in Norway, my grown up children, in Canada. Toronto was our choice: easy to get to for it’s great international airport. The house is centrally located, near the subway station, shops, restaurant and movie theatre. We were surprised to find pleasant walking trails not far away and we used the free local skating ring for work out. At Christmas we were a total of 7 people. Mrs. Newman’s house turned out to be perfect for us with a great kitchen for the preparation of our many meals. One great plus was the wireless Internet service; at one point we had 3 laptops! The beds were comfortable, the house warm and cozy. We all like to thank Caroline, Mitch and Sarah for the great holidays. The home is ideally located in a wonderful neighbourhood. We enjoyed the choice of many excellent restaurants and coffee shops and walking the safe, tree-lined streets. The house met all of our expectations and was very comfortable and clean. The owner has shown a lot of attention to detail and was very responsive to the needs of her guests. I would recommend this house to anyone looking to stay in Toronto and experience it from one of its nicest neighbourhoods. Anonymous
