Stan L. from Chesnee, SC recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in November, 2016 We had an amazing time. We got married while we were there and the accommodations were awesome! We left the doors open and heard the sounds of the ocean 24/7 and felt secure. Everything was clean and we love the lanai and sitting out under the stars at night. We had dinner next door at the St. Regis resort on our wedding night.
Teresa L. W. from Belmont, CALIFORNIA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in September, 2016 Condo has spectacular views: Unobstructed view of the ocean from the living room and the hallmark Bali Hai peak. Kitchen was well stocked with utensils and dishes. Easy walk to the St. Regis hotel and short drive to Hanalei.
Couldn't of asked for a better place for our honeymoon!
A guest from Ames, IA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in September, 2016 We absolutely loved our stay. Beautiful condo and location. Close to a lot of sights, restaurants, beaches, hiking, and grocery store. Will definitely be staying here again.
Katherine E. from Boulder, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2016 We had a lovely time relaxing at Puu Poa 401. The lanai's are large and inviting. The views are spectacular. The interior is well appointed and the kitchen is adequately equipped. As mentioned in another review, the 2nd bedroom did not have air-conditioning and cross ventilation was difficult. Fortunately, we only used the master bedroom which was quite comfortable. I loved the large Jacuzzied tub. If we were traveling with another couple, we would choose another unit with air-conditioning throughout.
John B. from Seattle, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2016 We heard that the unit had just been shown the weekend before we arrived. That explains why so much of the "rental" setup had been tucked away and the place didn't seem too "renter friendly" at first. The WiFi name and password were incorrect, the stereo had been disconnected, lightbulbs were missing, one lamp was broken, lots of bird droppings on the deck railings and chairs. A vase was broken and when we went to move it, it fell apart. The layout of the place is lovely for one couple although we found the set up of the glass shower enclosure and the master bath to be problematic when there others are staying in the unit - when you open the door to the master bedroom, anyone in the kitchen or dining room have a full view of the someone standing in the shower or sitting on the toilet! Yes, it happened twice. Yikes! Design flaw! Because of that, you had to walk outside to enter the bedroom if your husband was using the bathroom. We almost bought thumbtacks so we could hang a sheet but then thought better of it. The horizontal pivot windows in the master don't close all the way which was problematic when it rained (like every night). We got the feeling that the owners hadn't taken the time to update and repair some of these issues. But apart from that, the unit is lovely. We're a bit spoiled because the other Ah Aloha properties at Puu Poa have been so great, so renter-friendly, so well thought out. The folks at Ah Aloha were wonderful as usual.
RJ B. from Reno, NV recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2016 The management company's staff was very friendly and helpful both via e-mail and by phone. The unit was clean and ready to go. When we arrived, we had to wait for the realtor to clear out, as the condo was being shown. (Yes it's for sale for $1.9M and grosses $100,000+ a year in rental revenue. I highly doubt new owner wouldn't honor new reservations) It was very awkward and I worried that the unit was going to be dirty because so many people had passed through. Someone came by to make sure it wasn't. Though, I still think that the cleaning fee is outrageous for the size of the unit and the fact that it was only two of us. Now, for the pros and cons: I wouldn't recommend this property for two couples. It would work best for one couple or one couple and children. It does have air conditioning, however, only in the living room and the master bedroom, which means a very hot second bedroom. The second bedroom is also rather small which would be difficult to maneuver if there were more than 1 or 2 people staying in it. There is a small washer and dryer that comes in handy. We didn't do much cooking so I don't know if the BBQ or the kitchen worked - but it looked like we had everything. Beach toys like chairs, rafts, and snorkel gear were a big plus. There is great beach just below the condo property. However, oddly there weren't any beach towels. Also the plumbing is a bit quirky and we had a lot of issues with the water pressure and toilets. The two balconies were great, but definitely could NOT "sunbathe in total privacy." It was also awkward because the balcony overlooks into the balcony of the unit below. It was hard to enjoy a romantic sunset while hearing the conversation of the people below. Chalk that up to condo living, I guess. All in all I want to give credit where credit is due - it was a dream to be there and would go again in a heart beat.
A guest from Albuquerque, NM recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in May, 2016 Nice location, end unit, great views. This unit is for sale, and when we arrived for our 10 night stay, the real estate agent was hosting an open house to show the unit. He knew we were arriving that day, and I didn't appreciate the fact that people were coming in and out after the unit had been cleaned prior to our arrival.
The best of Kauai, a wonderful vacation destination
Lyle N. from Danville, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in April, 2016 Fantastic property, needs a little TLC on patios, removing weeds and possibly having some planters like neighbors properties. Overall fantastic and would strongly recommend.
Scott G. from Golden, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in March, 2016 Puu Poa 401 is an outstanding vacation condo. The place is plush with remodeled kitchen and baths. Great views. Yes you do see the St Regis Hotel parking lot out of one side of the condo. This is not a big deal though. It is a very quiet place except for the relaxing surf crashing ashore. Air conditioning is a definite plus, as many of these condos don't have it. The bedding was great and made for a good sleep. My only suggestions are the internet never did work. The router address "pp401" which was provided in a welcome email was not an option to select. We send a couple of emails we heard back from Dave on our last day, but it was no help. We survived but it is nice to have to have wifi. The floors in the master bath are beautiful but I fear the tile when wet is a fall risk, as it is very smooth. Plus you step down from the shower and tub. Lastly, the shower glass in the master bath is clear and one can see someone in the shower when the bedroom door is opened .Thanks for a nice ren
A guest from Castle Rock, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 11 days in March, 2016 Overall was very nice. Would suggest updating the coffee maker, alarm clock, possibly having cable TV would have been nice, on those rainy days. For such a high end property, seems like it could use a little more love and care inside. Would have been nice to arrive with a porch light on, to get a key out of the Lockbox. We learned it is for sale when we got there. We would recommend it with those small changes.
A guest from Spring, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in February, 2016 Puu Poa 401 is a beautiful condo and the views from this condo are spectular. The condo is fully equipped with everything you will need to enjoy your vacation. The photos of this property are spot on and more if your thinking of a condo this is prefect for a party of four. We would highly recommend this condo.
NANCY b. from evanston, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in February, 2016 My husband and I have stayed on Kauai five times previous to this trip, but always at the Princeville St Regis Hotel. This time we were staying for five nights and wanted to find a condo, but one with a similar beautiful setting and view of the amazing Napali coast. Many condos were already rented when we found unit 401 at Puu Poa, and we are delighted to have found it. While many condos are not air conditioned, this two bedroom, two bath unit has two thoroughly modern, quiet wall units that keep the unit comfortable when the afternoon sun makes it stuffy. We never kept the a.c. on for more than a handful of hours during the day. We were lucky to have had very sunny weather consistently, which is often NOT the case in Princeville, where it is cloudy and rains frequently. The condo development is very nice, the unit is absolutely gorgeous and has a spectacular view
A guest from Fairbanks, AK recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in December, 2015 We had a great stay, 8 nights. This unit has comfy beds, comfy furniture and a nice dinner table. The master bath was wonderful with a great jacuzzi tub and large open shower. When entering this unit, the parking is on the 2nd and 1/2 floor and no elevators so be ware that you are lugging your stuff up 1.5 floors. The views are worth it though. Amazing ocean views, A/C in both master and living room a bonus. The beach in front is nice but treacherous trail. St. Regis is 1 minute walk with nice restraints, beach etc.
Maryella F. from North Hills, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in November, 2015 The condo was beautiful from the moment we stepped in. The views are incredible. The home was very well kept, and I appreciated the fully stocked kitchen which made our personal shopping expenses much less. Even the little things like spices and herbs were great because we grilled steaks on the lanai one night. Although it is an end unit, being next to the St. Regis parking lot does not take away from the beauty of the view AT ALL. Nor is there any noise pollution from the parking lot. It was nice that their was beach equipment for use as well, we almost bought our own boogie boards at wal mart before we realized the condo already had some. And we were able to request a late check out with no problems as we had a very late flight, and were given no problems, we greatly appreciated that as well. Great experience and will definitely be back.
A guest from Henderson, NV recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2015 Puu Poa 401 was a last minute add-on to our 7 day trip to Kauai for our 25th Anniversary. At the last minute, we added 3 more days to the trip, and needed a place to stay. This condo was available, and it didn't disappoint! The views are spectacular! Yes, it had some maintenance issues (sliding screens wouldn't stay on the tracks, louvered window was broken in the bedroom, etc), but the location more than made up for these minor issues. I loved having A/C, especially after not having it for the 1st seven days of our trip. The condo was fully stocked with everything we could possibly need and Hideaways Beach right below was a real treat! But...if you don't like geckos, you probably shouldn't stay here...they were everywhere!!(but only outside) We loved it and would definitely stay here again.
A guest from Lake Worth, Florida recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2015 This was the second time we stayed at Puu Poa 401 and it was everything we remembered. The apartment is beautifully situated and has the most amazing views. It was spotless when we arrived. We had no hot water the first night and immediately contacted the on-call person. He he had someone come over the next morning who fixed it right away because all it needed was to be reset. We had no other issues the remainder of our stay. We love the location and highly recommend this apartment for a Princeville stay!
Jason H. from Oxnard, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in August, 2015 This unit is in great condition, tasteful upgrades, the AC is a nice touch! We have stayed at 4 different pu'u poa units (due to its prime locaton on the north shore) and this one is our favorite! We will definetly come back to this one!
A guest from Shorewood, ILLINOIS recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2015 The condo was very nice. Only complaint was that the bedroom window was stuck cracked open so you could hear traffic noise.
home away from home, only a better view and location.
scott s. from greensburg, pennsylvania recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in March, 2015 This was our 6th trip to Kauai, we have stayed at the major resorts in the past,Its more enjoying having your own private space, Puu poa 401 exceeded our expectations, beautiful..
A guest from Los Altos, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in December, 2014 The Condo matches with the photos shown by the Property Management Company. We enjoyed the convenience of the location (two minutes walk from St Regis Hotel), access to beaches and a Foodland close by in Princeville. The Condo has great oceanfront view both from the living room and the Master BR. Overall, we had a great time and will stay here again. Two negatives were: when we first arrived there were still wet towels in the washer and dryer. We called the maid service and she came over to take care of them within an hour. She told us that she didn't know we were checking in that day. She was very professional and took care of the issue for us. Another negative was a few of the light bulbs were missing, especially the main entrance lamp. We had to use our smartphone's light to work on the lock box. This need to be fixed. Other than that, this is a great rental.
A guest from Vadnais Hts, MN does not recommend this property. Stayed for 14 days in November, 2014 My wife and I stayed at Pu'u Poa 401 for two weeks in Nov 2014. Never again. The condo is promoted as a "luxury penthouse that guarantees an unequalled experience! The epitome of gracious living, capturing panoramic views of the azure ocean and Bali Hai. The best of the best!" It is true that the front ocean views are great, however, it should be pointed out that the Bali Hai views are from the side windows overlooking the large St Regis parking lot. But it is the condition of the condo that is the problem. I can't list everything we found but the major items in need of repair, replacement or cleaning were the lanai tile flooring, the sliding screen doors, the air conditioner, numerous light fixtures, the dishwasher, DVD and ants. We spent days 1 & 2 trying to get some attention to fix the numerous problems. Late on day 2 we were successful after calling the Ahh Aloha office in Texas. The rest of the week was spent staying out of the way of the repair and cleaning people. Week 2 we just accepted the temporary fixes and enjoyed the weather and the views. Although the place was better when we left, there were several permanent repairs yet to be made. Nearly all the people working for and with Ahh Aloha were very nice and helpful. Some even told us that many of the deficiencies we found had been complained about by previous renters. Strangely enough, we never did hear from Sandy, the owner of both Ahh Aloha and 401. This condo needs lots of attention and we hope it gets it. We've stayed at Pu'u Poa before and it is a beautiful complex but right now 401 is not "the best of the best".
Property Manager Response: Response from Ahh Aloha Kauai Vacation Rentals We are so happy to report that the air-conditioner is being REPLACED this week :-) The DVD was replaced at once. While it is true that the St Regis valet parking area is in the same direction as the Bali Hai view (out the dining room windows), it is four floors down! You really don't notice it. And the views out the front of the condo (from living room and master bedroom) are amazing white-water ocean views. Maintenance went through and replaced missing light bulbs, and the lanai was power washed. We hope future guests will have a top-notch experience, and we do appreciate that this guest brought these matters to our attention so we could correct them.
A guest from Waunakee, WI recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in October, 2014 The condo is beautiful and the views are gorgeous. The unit has two patios that directly overlook the ocean. Both the living room and master bedroom have patio doors onto these patios, so the sounds and breezes from the ocean are always available.
A guest from Sturbridge, MA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2014 Awesome interior. The patio was great for stargazing. Easy to park (you did not have to mess with car registration). Great walking paths for morning walks. Also the best part was the proximity to Hideaway Beach. The only negative was the keypad that unlocks the actual key to get into the property. Seemed archaic. Please update that to a code system that unlocks the property and does not involve a key. We constantly had to triple check that we had the key on us. Also would prefer a 11 am checkout time vs 10:00---we did leave the property very clean being the responsible renters that we are.
A guest from lafayette, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in September, 2014 Overall, a great condo for a couple or a family of four. The views were spectacular and it was nice to have snorkels, tennis rackets, beach mats, etc. right there available to use. We were there at the end of September/early October and the A/C was a life saver as we were in the corner unit with no shade in the midst of a heat wave. Very quiet location and it was nice to have beach access (albeit down a steep climb but manageable if you are moderately fit). Do not suggest for two couples as the second bedroom is much smaller, no TV (if that matters) and no AC. My wife and I along with our two adult children enjoyed our stay and we're sad to leave paradise.
Judith S. from Edina, MN does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2014 We arrived very late (11 pm) after many hours of traveling, and found two things quite disconcerting:1. The access into the unit is poor. There is not a parking lot in front of Building 4, so you have to park in front of Building 3, walk up and down several 2-3 step configurations the path, and then walk up 3 flights to the condo. No elevator. It would have been helpful to see a map of the building layout, where to park, etc. And to know about the access.2. The unit was stifling hot once we got in. Again, this was after several hours of travel, and then walking up and down stairs on the sidewalk with luggage and then up 3 flights of stairs. Not a pleasant intro to the unit. It took a full day to cool things down. It would have been nice to have walked in to a/c.The unit is better for young families, young groups, etc. As we are in our late 50s/early 60s (in good shape, but want the comforts of a/c, an elevator, etc.) we would likely not stay there again, nor recommend to friends OUR AGE and stage in life.
A guest from Mountain View, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2014 the condo is in excellent condition: new furniture/appliances, well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, plenty of towels, 2 beautiful balconies (with amazing views!). Pool at the condo was decent but nothing spectacular (the tiles were a bit slippery so watch out if you have kids).the location in Princeville is perfect. 5 min walk to the St. Regis where you can take the elevator down to the beach on Hanalei Bay. If you want a mini-hike walk to the start of Queen's Bath trail and go down to the wading pool in the natural lava rocks (be careful this trek gets muddy/slippery).
William G. from Palm Springs, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 36 days in July, 2014 Great condo with magnificent ocean and mountain views. Ahh Aloha Kauai Vacation .management did a great job! We highly recommend using them. We booked a rental thru them next year for 3 months!
James C. from Warrens, WI recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in June, 2014 We loved this condo! Plain and simple. The only problem we had was the dishwasher rack was not good. It seemed to be either missing rollers or it was from another kind of dishwasher and didn't fit.
Lovely unit and fabulous location but lacking attention to detail
A guest from Meridian, ID does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2014 The unit is very nice and the views (with the exception of the parking lot) were spectacular, but many issues, light bulbs missing, TV instructions incorrect, no return call from maintenance company, stains on towels, microwave and dishwasher had issues. Lovely location but would not use Ahh Aloha again
Property Manager Response: Response from Ahh Aloha Kauai Vacation Rentals Maintenance was in Puu Poa 401 when this guest checked in two hours earlier than the standard check-in time on a Friday afternoon. Maintenance was unable to complete tasks because the guest did not want him to stay. Also, due to early entrance to the property, our housekeeping inspector was unable to inspect, at which time the two missing light bulbs would have been noted and replaced. Our maintenance man went over with the guest how to operate the TV and internet. He said he would return with two light bulbs which he did on Monday. The television reception issues was unfortunate, but was the result of programming from Time Warner Cable, not the TV itself. New linens have been purchased. We were unable to find any problems with either the microwave or dishwasher, which appear to be working properly.
The side dining room window does overlook the seldom-used valet parking lot for the St. Regis hotel. Most guests don't stand at the edge of the window and look four stories straight down, but out to one of the most magnificent views in the world, the famous Bali Hai sunset view.

A guest from Marietta, OK recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in May, 2014 Kauai is absolutely beautiful!! We completely enjoyed our stay and everything went smoothly with the rental from start to finish. The location of the condo was excellent. The amenites were very adequate and the condo was very clean and beautifully decorated. My only complaint was that the air conditioner in the living room did not keep the condo cool especially in the afternoon hours but we had an excellent ocean breeze. The high end sheets and beds were fabulous! I appreciate the owners sharing their beautiful condo with us and would definitely recommend it!
Nora L. from Ross, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in May, 2014 We felt very fortunate to have stayed at the Puu Poa, Unit #401. The condo was perfectly situated and even though we could see the St Regis parking lot from the kitchen (as we were informed prior to our stay) we were never bothered by any noise or inconvenience since we were on the top floor. The layout was perfect and provided us privacy, ocean views and all the amenities of home. Cathy was superior in her customer service prior to our arrival, patiently answering my myriad of questions. She was knowledgeable about the area and the unit itself and even made very helpful suggestions regarding shopping for food and basics and such. To sum it up, when my husband first walked in the unit and then saw the view from the lanai, he said, "Wow, this is amazing. Great job, dear!" Need I say more? A happy husband = a happy wife....and vice versa!
Jasmine B. from Livermore, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in March, 2014 Had a great experience staying at this condo. Its very upscale and has lovely ocean views. Bedrooms are luxuriant and spacious!
Barry T. from Edmonds, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in March, 2014 We've rented 5 times in Pua Poa over the years and Unit 401 is our favorite, its a top floor end unit with a lovely view of Bali Hai out of the dining room and Kitchen, yes your overlooking the Princeville Resorts parking lot but it is the one used by the Valets so no loud music or drunkards getting out of their cars or setting off alarms. This unit is remodeled unlike some in the complex and has AC but its rarely needed. One complaint would be that if your a cook like me it needs more in the way of Kitchen gadgets, specifically a cheese grater but thats minor, Love the Unit, Love The Complex and love the location, best value for the $$ in Princeville in our opinion, Barrya nd Kurt
A guest from Regina, SK recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in March, 2014 Fantastic views, beautiful condo, great location. We would recommend the property to our friends. Looking forward to a return visit.
David G. from Pleasanton, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in January, 2014 there was a note on the dish washer that it was not working and no attempt was made during our 9 day stay to repair it. I believe the management company that the owner uses is quite lax and unresponsive to the renters.
Property Manager Response: Response from Ahh Aloha Kauai Vacation Rentals We apologize for the inconvenience of the broken dishwasher. The appliance repairman had to order parts shipped in, takes about a week, and we felt it would be too disruptive to the guest to have a technician in the condo pulling out the dishwasher and repairing it during their stay, so we waited until they had departed. We hope the guest enjoyed this beautiful luxury condo with its remarkable views, and their visit to Kauai, despite the inconvenience of the broken dishwasher.
Gillian H. from Vancouver, BC recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in January, 2014 We thoroughy enjoyed our stay at Puu Poa. We will come back again, for sure. The 2 lanais were a real treat and the well stocked kitchen made it so easy to cook our favourite meals.
A guest from Issaquah, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in November, 2013 This vacation rental sets the bar. It?s well located (right next to St. Regis), tastefully furnished (loved the fans), with modern amenities, and views to die for. This is probably the best unit on the property - you get privacy, uninterrupted view of sunsets over Hanalei Bay from the dining room, and sweeping views of the ocean from its two lanais. Stargazing at night from the lanai was phenomenal too. The (mildly) heated pool was functional, but good. Air-conditioning was a good plus. This rental set the tone for a memorable vacation!
A guest from Rocklin, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in November, 2013 This is a wonderful condo on the most gorgeous north shore! This condo is ocean front in one direction and then behind the complex are the incredible mountains with waterfalls in the distance. 401 is spacious, clean, comfortable, and you can't beat the views! The pictures on the website are 100% accurate. The Bali Hai views add so much and the St. Regis parking lot (which 401 is next to) is quiet, I didn't hear one door slam or car alarm. I would stay in 401 again if I ever come back!
Katherine L. from San Diego, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in October, 2013 From the moment we walked into this place we knew it was going to be a great trip. The views were spectacular. The beds were comfortable. Two great decks facing the ocean. We will stay here again!
cory M. from Loma Linda, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in October, 2013 On our honeymoon we stayed in Puu Poa 401. Overall we couldn't have asked for more quality. The view was magnificent, the bathroom/master bedroom looked right out over the lanai to the ocean. Easy check-in, parking, and very clean/well-stocked with anything you'd need to cook. The owners were kind and communicated well. The only negative was that the landlord on site was a little grumpy. When we had trouble with one of our keys (turn the lock twice to the left more than you think), he gave us a hard time. Nothing major. Truly the view, quality and ease of access made it all worth it.Of note...don't stay in Princeville if you want to see the whole island. It's quite a drive to Port Allen and Poipu and traffic through Kapaa is frustrating. However, if you want to kick back, go on island time, and just enjoy "aloha" this place is ideal.
A guest from Sanford, Florida recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in October, 2013 Puu Poa #401 was the last stop of our 3 island, silver anniversary, second honeymoon trip. We saved the best for last! Beautifully decorated with comfortable furniture, especially the bed! Loved the big tub and open shower! Since it was the 2 of us we just used the extra bathroom for extra privacy. The views from the twin lanis were amazing! Our only complaint is the outdoor chaise chairs should be replaced, the air-conditioner worked great but was quite noisey at night. Sunsets were amazing & blinding from the wonderfully large windows. We hope to return someday and would love to stay here once again!
Nancy A. from South Windsor, CT recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in August, 2013 A very-well appointed condo...especially the kitchen. Spectacular views. Must have a rental car to get around however as most activities except for snorkeling weren't close by.
David L. from Orange, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in June, 2013 The fabric on the sofa is worn in a few spots and a number of tiles on the lanai off the living room are broken or have "popped up."
A guest from Rancho Santa Fe, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in May, 2013 Everything was great, but I would suggest window coverings on the second window in the family room as the glare makes it very difficult to view the television. I would also suggest a new remote control for the television.
A guest from Golden, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in May, 2013 Wonderful location, beautiful views, very clean, the only negative comment is the sliding glass doors need work, couldn't lock probably not in the right tracks.
Andrea R. from Tucson, AZ recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2013 I don't want to alarm you but I think I should let you know that we saw some sort of bed bug on the couch. My kids used the pull out and I could see what may have been remnants of bugs. Hopefully, we did not bring any home. I also looked on the regular beds but saw nothing. Anyway, we love the condo and hope to come back. You might need to spray the couch and/or replace the pull out mattress.
Property Manager Response: Response from Ahh Aloha Kauai Vacation Rentals They were NOT bedbugs. Bedbugs are serious, and we treat them very seriously. Our staff is trained to identify them. They are also incredibly tiny, you would not see them as an identifiable bug, you know they are there by the blood traces they leave. We will certainly insure that the sofa bed is opened and cleaned, as any type of bugs are where you are going to be sleeping. But at least we can assure you that you did not see bedbugs.
A guest from San Jose, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in March, 2013 Overall, it's a great condo. The view is fantastic, it is clean, fully equipped, and quite spacious. A couple of minor criticisms:- Lack of a door on the master bathroom was not our cup of tea.- We only found shampoo/conditioner in one bathroom.
A guest from Lake Bluff, Illinois recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in March, 2013 Puu Poa 401 is an end unit on the top floor with great views. The location in Princeville is ideal with a short drive to anywhere on the North Shore of Kauai. The beach below the complex (although not easy to get to) is beautiful with great snorkeling and not as crowded as many of the other beaches, particularly early and late in the day. The unit itself is well maintained and very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay and if back in Kauai, would stay at 401 Puu Poa again.
A guest from Mokena, IL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 14 days in March, 2013 This property was very tastefully decorated and the kitchen was fabulous! No door for privacy in the Master Bedroom. Shower beautiful and clear glass, so guests could see you from the living room and kitchen while showering! What's up with that? Also the Lanai(s) could have been a bit more on an upscale side. A lean to over the air conditioner unit made of just would and two two by fours holding it up. Patio furniture needed to be replaced, at least the lounge chairs and the table where the umbrella does not stay straight. Plastic planter pot filled with sand to hold the umbrella, there are umbrella stands! Also, a dirty green garden hose on the lanai, not a pleasant sight. Could also use some plants around to make it more tropical! For the price of the rental I think these few updates would be most necessary! Otherwise the inside was beautiful and the view spectacular. Oh, and yes, the noise in the parking lot and cars was a bit noisy. We have stayed in another unit in Puu Poa two years ago, not as nicely decorated and could have been updated, but overall that unit was pleasant!
Rhonda H. from Seattle, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in March, 2013 We loved the views of the water and Bali Hai (though you must overlook a parking lot to do so). Very clean, very nice furniture, great soaking tub. Biggest issue was there was no door on the master suite, so the glassed-in shower, tub and toilet were all observable from the kitchen and dining area. AWKWARD.
Donna P. from Parks, AZ recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in February, 2013 This condo was amazing! From the beautiful interior design to the privacy & solitude of the location to the obvious highlight: the views! The online photos do not do it justice - we knew it would be beautiful but it was so much more spacious and private then we had expected. The kitchen was amazing and we actually ended up cooking almost every night, since no restaurant could compete with the romantic ambiance of our lanai(or my husband's culinary skills). Special mention also for the glass enclosed shower and jacuzzi tub with ocean views! Oh, and watching whales from the lanai! We enjoyed every moment of our 7 day stay! Puu Poa 401 is simply the best!! We are in our mid 40s and were here celebrating our recent 'empty-nester' status and 25th anniversary. Thank you to Sandy and Ahh Aloha for a perfect experience!
James W. from Hilton Head, SC recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2013 Great place. Well furnished. Two very minor criticism suggestions. It was unclear whether we were to use the gas grill. There was one instruction that indicated we shouldn't, but there was gas in the grill. If the grill is open to guests the Weber flavorizer bars need to be replaced. The 10:00 AM checkout time is too early, and the instructions from the cleaning company made us wonder why we were paying for cleaning as opposed to cleaning ourselves. Otherwise, great experience.
Bob M. from Henderson, NV does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in January, 2013 1.kitchen faucet was broken for 2 days after arrival and the work order was "lost".2. hard to climb steps to top where unit is located. a distant from parking. wouldn't recommend for older couple of young family.3. Emergency backup didn't return calls and we were locked out without support. Neighbor help us get in after hours.
Ginette B. from Gatineau, QC recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in January, 2013 Unit 401 is the end unit closest to the St-Regis hotel. The negatives: we had no direct sunset view except through the dining room window; this side view, that of Hanalei, was marred as it overlooked the St Regis parking lot, the tap in the second bathroom shower was loose and the sink pipes would occasionally groan. The positives: great view of the ocean; privacy of the penthouse; proximity to the heated pool ; great decor throughout the unit with modern amenities; beautiful master bedroom with lovely ensuite (with minor plumbing problems) ; very quiet environment; queen size bed in the second bedroom. I fully recommend Puu Poi 401
Leslie R. from Palisade, Colorado recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2012 Everything about our experience with this rental was wonderful - the management, location, views; beautiful, well equipped condo. Highly recommend.
Claus P. from Chicago, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in October, 2012 We picked this apartment because we were looking for a nice, affordable two bed, two bath apartment with ocean view. It was clean, spacious and had nice furniture. There was A/C in the living room and in one of the bedrooms. The bedroom with the A/C had no bathroom door, so if one of us needed privacy, the other person had to close the blinds to the balcony and leave the room. That was the only part that really bothered me. The location was great but I didn't think how long the drive to the airport or other parts of the island would be since there is basically just one road that get's you somewhere.
A guest from Houston, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in October, 2012 Puu Poa 401 has amazing views of the ocean and Hanalei bay, is within walking distance to a fantastic snorkling beach (one of the best I have found in my five trips to Hawaii), and is in very good shape. It also has air conditioning in the master bedroom and in the family room, and this made our stay extra comfortable. (It is not the best air conditioner, mind you, but it worked sufficiently during our stay.) The dishwasher did not work very well, however, and the microwave definitley needs to be replaced. But these are minor complaints -- overall the condo is fantastic and we were very pleased.
A guest from Glen Burnie, MA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in September, 2012 We loved the condo. Only issue was that the latch on the glass door to the master was broken before we arrived so we could never really securely lock our belongings in when we left. It always made me a little nervous while we were out exploring. Particularly with the workers on the roofs. Only other complaint was that the roofers kicked us off the lanai one afternoon and they got it quite dirty with debris/paint (or some other beige liquid). Other than that it was great & made moving to the hyatt a disappointment. Great location, great view, great condo.
Lisa W. from Cincinnati, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2012 We were very impressed with the decor. Professionally decorated and maintained. The place was impeccable. Gorgeous views, very quiet and private. Very high end. Highly recommend!!!
A guest from minneapolis, MN recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in August, 2012 Puu Poa 401 is a truly luxurious condo - beautifully renovated with very lovely furniture. When we walked in, the view definitely took our breath away on all sides of the unit. The kitchen is well enough equipped (on the sparse side, but sufficient). The wi-fi worked very efficiently. The condo is very large, has two very comfy beds, two very big lanais. The views from the lanais are uninterrupted ocean views, and since it is a top floor unit, there is no one looking down onto your lanai, unlike the lower floor units. Since it is an end unit it has an extra bonus view of the famous "Bali Hai'. It is a stunning view to be sure - be aware that that view also over looks the St Regis Valet parking lot. Since it is valet, there isn't much commotion down there. Since very few Puu Poa units have a lanai view of Bali Hai, I was still very happy to have that beautiful view of paradise, and I made the decision that it was better to have an added view of paradise overlooking a calm parking lot, than having that view cut off completely by a wall, like the next door neighbors. We would stay there again gladly!
Gary R. from Concord, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in August, 2012 A perfect location; steps from Hida-a-Ways Beach & Hanalei Bay. Amazing views from inside & out. Beautifully furnished.
A guest from New York, N.Y. recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2012 That's what every single one of us said when we walked in to Puu Poa 401! The view was spectacular and the apartment was absolutely beautiful and well maintained. It was everything advertised and more!! The location was great and gave us easy access to everything. I know we enjoyed our family vacation all the more because of the "at home" feeling staying at the condo provided. We would definitely return for our next visit to Kauai!!We did not need to contact the site manager for anything during our 7 days, however the one thing I would suggest something be done about is the outer door lock - it sometimes took several minutes to lock or unlock it. There were a few times I wasn't sure we were getting back in! Otherwise, no issues.
Tom C. from Phoenix, Arizona recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in July, 2012 My wife and i stayed for 8 days with our friends in july. The condo was great and had some of the best views on the island. There was only two small problems. The entry door is hard to figure out. Turn the key to the left to open the door and to the right to lock it. We left two message for the management company to help us get in, but nobody returned any of our calls. The master bathroom could use a door for privacy.
Kasi K. from Fort Wayne, Indiana recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in July, 2012 My husband and I just got back from our honeymoon in Kauai. I am so happy I picked this condo for our stay while on the island. It is as beautiful as the pictures. We would love to get the chance to stay again in the future if we are ever able to visit again.
Julie S. from Ft Wayne, IN recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in June, 2012 The second we stepped through the door- the first words out of ever ones mouth was, "Wow!" Continuing on to the well appointed living space, the next sound was "Ahhh! - so relaxing!" After a long day of hiking, snorkeling, sight seeing it was wonderful coming back to continued "beauty and comfort".
A guest from Calgary, Alberta recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in June, 2012 My husband, mother, daughter and I stayed here for a week a had an absolutely amazing time. The view is spectacular and the unit is upgraded and beautiful. The pool on the property was perfect when we wanted to be in the water since my daughter was only 6 months old. Beautiful walking paths, golf, beaches, park, and little shops made this the perfect relaxing vacation.
Thomas H. from Meridian, ID recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in June, 2012 We celebrated our 40 th wedding anniversary with our kids. We had a wonderful time ond the codo was very nice. only issues were that the main door was very difficult to lock at times. The toilets water kept running but that being said itwas a beautiful condo and we just loved sitting out in the lanai with a glass of wine, the view was just fantastic and the sun set was out of this world
A guest from Lake Villa, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 13 days in April, 2012 We have stayed in Puu Poa 401 for a few years now. It could use some updates. The property is looking a bit outdated now. Staff is always wonderful and prompt.
A guest from Broomfield, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in March, 2012 The location and views are simply awesome. Walking distance to our favorite places - Hideaways and Sea Lodge Beaches, Queen's Bath. Laid back and quiet. This unit was clean and well appointed and served our family of 5 well. You can easily cook in if you like and eating as a family on the lanai as the sun was setting was surreal. We found some binoculars in a drawer and there were several days with whales playing just offshore. There are two nice TV's (which we never used, but might be important to some), a DVD player and a couple beach chairs and mats in a storage closet. To be nit-picky we found a couple spider webs the cleaning crew missed and the on-island contact can be a bit slow to respond (we had no emergencies, just wanted to try and book some activities at a discount). But, hey, you're at a fabulous location on Kauai with breathtaking views. We really had no bothersome issues whatsoever.
Don C. from Ft Worth, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in March, 2012 One of the best vacation condo's my wife and I have ever stayed in. Great view. Decorations and furniture the best. Would definitely stay here again.
Shona N. from Parker, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in February, 2012 Another great vacation working with the Ahh Aloha team! Every year we go, we always call them to extend for a few more days. We have daily runs throughout the neighborhood and there is no other property that has a better view. The condos are all modern, clean, updated, and amazing! I hate to share our secret but, know the feedback is helpful.
A guest from Calgary, ALB recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in February, 2012 Kauai is a beautiful island with Princeville the nicest area and the Puu Poa condo?s in the best location of Princeville. The condo truly is very nice, roomy, and has an amazing deck overlooking the ocean. We were able to watch whales every morning over coffee. We did find that simple things were lacking which, for a condo of this cost, and value, was unfortunate and not necessary. The phone is broken ? the number 8 button does not work ? with every number beginning with 8 in Hawaii that makes it useless for local calls. Coffee maker has to be 15 years old, cutlery was missing, had to wash one of the 3 knives after each meal, dishwasher bottom rack broken, no DVD?s whatsoever and no HDTV. All little things however with just one or two nights rent spent on fixing them this condo would be 5 star all around. Also, as others reviews have stated, no info sheet at all left on using items in the condo. Most can be figured out (what key is for what, AC, jetted tub, remote ceiling fans, TV, etc.) however an information sheet would certainly be helpful. The one sheet left on condo association rules states absolutely no BBQ allowed on the Lanai however there was a BBQ on the deck ? somewhat confusing but I?m glad it was there as we used it often!Location is amazing, Princeville Centre for groceries & shopping, St Regis, and a few beaches all within a 20 minute walk along beautiful walking paths. Views from the condo and lookout beside the condo are simply the best in Hawaii.
Jennifer B. from Mequon, WI recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in February, 2012 We stayed at Puu Poa 401 from Feb. 5-10th and it was fabulous. Gorgeous views, very clean, and beautiful decor. Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better accommodation! I would definitely recommend this condo to anyone.
Jeff H. from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2012 A really great place to stay. We had a group of heavy smokers camping out on the lanai of the unit directly underneath #401..and the way it's situated the wind from the shore pushes smoke right into the unit if the windows are open. It's rare to see a bunch of old smokers in Kauai..especially truly dedicated smokers like we the odds are you won't have the same experience as us. I would try it again.
A guest from San Diego, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in January, 2012 This is a comfortable, attractive, upscale unit with a fabulous lanai and a gorgeous view. It's maintained well, and the one small problem we had was taken care of quickly and efficiently. The only reason I didn't give it five stars across the board is that we would have liked HD TV reception to go along with the quality of the place. We'd certainly come back.
A guest from Chicago, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in January, 2012 Lovely 4th floor condo with views of Bali Hai from the side windows (over the St. Regis parking lot) and out at the ocean from main and bedroom lanais. Quality furnishings. No instructions in the condo about how to use anything so it took awhile to figure out what the extra keys were for (the pool and I guess the other was for the tennis court, but didn't try it) and how to operate the ceiling fans. Very comfortable bed in master bedroom. We didn't cook but kitchen looked well furnished. Didn't use the a/c but wouldn't have known how if we wanted to. Wonderful jacuzzi but the master bath has no door and glass walls so no privacy. Fortunately there are two baths.Overall a very nice condo and great location. We had a wonderful time and would return.
Gerry P. from Saugatuck, MI does not recommend this property. Stayed for 9 days in November, 2011 location was excellant, condition of unit was worn, and information on property was not good long walk to unit and three floors to walk up with luggage plus bad or no information on how to unlock unit later found unit next to us had detailed information on how to unlock door as we could not get in to unit and had to call for help at 11:00 p.m. after long flight.
Elisabeth S. from Placencia, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in September, 2011 We had such a wonderful time in Kauai and I can honestly say that our accomadations were one of the main reasons. From the momment we walkeded into our condo, we knew we were going to have a fantastic week. Hideaway beach was amazing and it was soooo close. We found ourselves at the pool several times cooling off after a relaxing day at the beach.
Ronald H. from Sierra Vista, AZ recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in September, 2011 The condo was great. The amenities were outstanding and the location was superb. We were able to relax and recharge during our wonderful time in Kauai. Can hardly wait to do it again.
A guest from San Luis Obispo, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2011 Beautiful, well appointed condo. Everything was amazing. The only problem was that the air conditioning didn't work. It looked old and rusted out. But, overall, absolutely amazing place, and I would go back in a heartbeat.
bill and linda B. from palos verdes estates, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in June, 2011 This was our 3rd stay at Puu Poa 401 so we obviously like it. Location and quality of furnishings are the attraction. We were pleased to see the new patio furniture. The biggest negative continues to be that it gets hot. The bedroom is fine, but the living room air conditioner and fan are not strong enough to offset the afternoon sun. It might help if the owners would consider adding window covering which could be opened and closed. I am not sure why, but flies, bugs and insect bites were also an issue this time.
A guest from Chehelis, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 15 days in June, 2011 We had a lovely vacation, and this condo was the icing on the cake. Beautifully appointed, spectacular ocean front vistas. I would suggest providing more information about beach access. THe access adjacent to the property is very steep and treacherous when raining; the access between the Regis and Westin is longer, but more passable and safe.
A guest from Indianapolis, Indiana recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2011 We enjoyed three nights at this condo and would return. It was close to activities, restaurants and stores. The condo is beautiful, furnishings were the nicest I have experienced in a rental and the kitchen was well equipped.
A guest from Ottawa, ONT recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in April, 2011 This unit was the perfect "homebase" while we explored Kaua'i. I wish my real home was as nice! We have already recommended it to a friend and would stay here again if the wind brings us back to Kaua'i.
Eric V. from Bonita Springs, FL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 16 days in March, 2011 Only 4 plates? Are you kidding me? I have to wash dishes every time I eat @ the condo? Broken silverware. Dirty dishes and glasses in cupboard, but we found the dishwasher didn't do a very good job of cleaning, so... Filthy rubbermaid storage containers in drawer. Ants everywhere. Literally could not put a dish or glass down for long without getting ants in them, including stove top-food in cooled off pots were invaded rapidly. Inside fridge was only safe place. Dining table and coffee table to sticky to sit at, don't even think of resting your elbows on the edge. Location is fine, if you don't mind 200 cars outside your dining room window. Oceanfront is great. Overall, unit is OK- but much better deals elsewhere in Princeville, even in Pu'u Poa. The towels and washcloths get very smelly just sitting in storage. Never had that issue @ other waterfront homes/condos before.
A guest from Clarency, NY recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2011 Condo has been updated, is nicely furnished and has incredible ocean views. Could be improved by better equipping the kitchen (plates, bowls, pots and pans, etc.
A guest from Laguna Hills, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in January, 2011 We had the best time in this condo. The views of the ocean and Bali Hai is to die for. The lush north shore location is out of this world. The condo is huge, plush and well-maintained with excellent, quality furniture and appliances. With a jacuzzi, fully equipped kitchen and bbq, it was something to look forward to after a hard day at the Kalalau trail or a day of beach fun. The only problem we faced was we couldn't figure out how to open the lock box where the keys were, the first day (some directions would have helped immensely). Another small issue was the remote to the air-conditioner was well-hidden and we found it after three day. Other than these, we would definitely go back and stay here again.
A guest from San Francisco, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in November, 2010 My wife and I decided to spend our 40th birthdays away from our 2 kids. Staying here was a treat and allowed us to relax, sleep with the sounds of the ocean, lounge with views of the ocean, and recover from all of the nearby hiking and kayaking. I would come back without hesitation.
Marc A. from Marietta, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in October, 2010 My wife and i couldnt have picked a better place to stay for our honeymoon. The condo was decorated exquisitely, had a jacuzzi tub in the master bathroom, full kitchen with granite counters and two balconies overlooking the ocean-one from the living room and a private one from the master bedroom. We slept every night with the glass door open and the screen closed and woke up to the sound of the ocean
A guest from Olathe, KS recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in October, 2010 THREE FLIGHTS OF STAIRS, NO ELEVATOR...BEAUTIFUL VIEW, BEAUTIFUL CONDO,.DOES NEED NEW PATIO TABLE (OLD ONE RUSTY) MSTR. BATH, NO DOOR and GLASS YOU HAD TO SHUT DOOR OF ENTIRE MASTER BEDROOM.CONDO STATED AS HAVING A/C, ONLY WALL UNIT IN LR AND MSTR. BDRM., , WOULD STAY HERE IN A HEARTBEAT AGAIN IF WASN'T FOR STAIRS..
A guest from Everett, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 11 days in September, 2010 One recommendation would be to switch the styrofoam cooler with a plastic one with a handle for ease of toting down to Hideaways.
A guest from Seattle, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2010 I was surprised at how gorgeous this unit really was. The furniture is amazing. The kitchen has absolutely everything. The pool is very small but also very empty and quiet. This unit is on the end so you can watch the sunset from the west windows. And the property managers made things very easy for me. I had trouble getting others to return my calls but Ahh Aloha was great.
Seongje A. from Bunbang-gu, Seongnam recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2010 I stayed at Puu Poa 401 from July 16 to July 26 in 2010. The condo was immaculate. I was more than satisfied. All the furnishings were upscale. Even the coffee table was made by Tommy Bahama. The views from livingroom, kitchen, master bedroom were beyond my description. You can see pacific ocean and sky. The beautiful colors of the ocean and sky are changing every hour. It was my dream vacation! I want to say thanks to Sandy who recommended this to me.
Chris P. from Lowell, AR recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2010 Thank you Sandy for allowing us to stay in Puu Poa 401, it is an amazingly beautiful place in Kauai and the condo was very well maintained and nicely appointed. We thoroughly enjoyed the spectacular views out of every window and will definately be back.
Bill B. from Palos Verdes, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in June, 2010 The Pua Poa complex has a great location. The furnishings of 401 are very good for a rental unit. The patio furniture is the only area which is not up to par. It is one of the few to have air conditioning which is a big plus. However, air is only in two rooms and in the living room it is overwhelmed by the afternoon sun. The top level location provides good views but also several levels of stairs to carry bags.David the handyman was excellent and quite responsive. In all, we hope to stay in 401 when we return to Princeville.
Nancy K. from The Woodlands, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in May, 2010 My sisters and I took our brother to Princeville to celebrate his 40th birthday, and we had a fantastic time. The condo (#401) was even better than the pictures promised it to be! Absolutely perfect -- no complaints whatsoever.
A guest from Orange, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 11 days in May, 2010 We have stayed in unit 401 four different vacations and absolutely love the unit, its fabulous views, furnishings and amenities, and the Puu Poa location. The folks at Ahh Aloha Kauai Vacation Rentals (Sandy and Cathy) are great - very responsive and helpful.
Susan M. from El Cajon, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2010 Pros: Location, view, and quality of furniture (nice ambience ? Tommy Bahamas style). I would like to thank Ando for quickly providing propane for the gas grill! Cons: Cooking pans are not usable and everything sticks?purchased two non-stick pans in order to cook breakfast. No literature on how to work the A/C unit, as it froze-up during our stay and after speaking with maintenance, turned off for a few hours, left at 72 degree and it worked find for the remaining of our stay. They need to add blinds for the south entry, which would help the glare on the TV in the morning and curve the heat from penetrating during most of the day. Cable is standard, no HD and there is no stereo system. Not sure who?s WiFi we were using, but don?t believe it?s the units as the cable modem wasn?t plugged in until we plugged it in?
Property Manager Response: Response from Ahh Aloha Kauai Vacation Rentals We're not sure whose wireless you were using either, but glad it worked for you! (Check-in instructions advise bringing an ethernet cable, since you need to physically plug your computer to the modem to access the condo's internet.) Air-conditioners, if run for too long at too low a termperature setting, will freeze. We have asked maintenance to replace the missing instruction sheet explaining this to guests. We hope that despite non-digital TV, and a kitchen equipped with stainless steel cookware, you enjoyed yourselves and the beautiful island of Kauai. May is normally a lovely time of year to visit, and Puu Poa 401 is always an amazing experience.
Jonathan G. from San Francisco, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in May, 2010 Dream condo newly rennovated to make you feel like you are in paradise. Every detail is perfect. From the bed, and the sheets, to the tub, the kitchen and the two magnificent lanais. Try to beat this view from anywhere else.
A guest from Baltimore, MD recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in March, 2010 Puu Poa 401 was a beautiful place to stay--the location was wonderful and we had a fabulous time. We did feel that the person (Joe) managing the property was MUCH more helpful than Jeanne the concierge. She was nice, but erratic and not very helpful with regard to planning activities on the island. Overall, however, we had an absolutely wonderful time. Highly recommend Puu Poa 401!
