Needs Some TLC
Scott E. from McDonough, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2016 The cabin was very spacious and roomy .Supplies for cooking were perfect. We could hardly wait to get there to fish in the creek. A bit disappointed when we got there and the grass was very high and had to wade through it to get to the creek, a bit snaky looking. The floors definitely needed sweeping and mopping. The mop in the closet is broken so we could not mop it ourselves or we would have. The trash cans were already full so we had to keep the trash inside until we left on Sunday. There were cob webs all over the house. My nephew got stung coming up the steps from the lake as there were numerous wasp nests attached to the cabin. Bulbs need replacing on the outside of the house for sitting on the porch or in the hot tub at night. None of these things ruined the trip or the beauty of the place but I would want to know as an owner how things are looking at my place. You charge a cleaning fee and are not getting your money's worth.
Natasha M. from Snellville, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in March, 2016 My husband and I come to the cabins at least 4 times a year!!! We come alone to refresh and relax, and we also come with our family, for a great family and fun filled get away. We have been coming now for 7 years and always, always enjoy our stay and our property manager Holly takes GREAT care of us!! Our youngest son is in the NAVY and can't wait to visit to have a family vacation at the cabin. At this cabin,we hoping for a few fish but the enclosed balconies and hot tub were amazing as usual!! Thanks For The Great Memories..See you in a few months!!
Reviewed by: Macon R. recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in March, 2016 We had a wonderful experience, started with picking up they keys. She was so helpful and friendly. The cabin was exactly as described. The only issues and they were small nothing that would keep us from renting again was some black ants in bathrooms and near trash can in kitchen and the smell out back was unpleasant but, it only was there at dusk and didn't last long. Other than that it was wonderful. Would definetley stay again. We had 2 families there as well 2 adults and 5 children ages 17-8 they loved it!!
A guest from Eustis, Florida recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in March, 2016 Very peaceful and quiet. I needed a quiet weekend away to unplug and this was the perfect place. Had no issues really and the one minor one was taken care of by the staff very quickly. If you're looking for a nice quiet getaway this is the place!
connie a. from District Heights, Maryland recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in October, 2015 Peaceful relaxing and green.Just need to some fish in the lake behind the house so you could do some fishing.
Penny M. from Ducktown, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in October, 2015 We chose this location for our daughter's wedding. The landscaping and the creek gave the perfect venue for an outdoor wedding. We loved everything about our stay here and would highly recommend this rental to anyone either for a venue for an event or for a relaxing getaway in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
A guest from Jefferson, Georgia recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2015 This cabin was very clean and a great location for our needs. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, dishes, and pans, but if you stay here, don't forget salt and pepper. The beds and sofa beds were a little uncomfortable, too hard for us and a little aged. Overall, a satisfied customer.
Derek H. from Columbus, Georgia recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2015 This cabin was exactly what we needed to have a great weekend. The TV was great for watching football, we grilled out multiple times, the bedrooms and kitchen were awesome and we even spent some time in the garage playing pool and yard games.
LESLEY N. from Naples, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2015 Rockaway was a really nice cabin. My friend and I enjoyed the stream out back. The kitchen was well stocked and fully loaded. The only thing that was not good was the wasps, they were annoying, We had a hard time trying to go in the hot tub and just being outside on the deck. My son and my best friend were stung. Holly the manager was sweet and did send someone the ame day. The spray tech was really nice and took care of us. Holly was awesome from the time I booked the cabin all the way to the end. The grass was very high when we arrived. That was not so appleasing but they came and cut it our third day there. Other than that its a good cabin.A few cob webs that could have been cleaned but we managed.
Mark D. from Douglasvillle, Georgia recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2015 Great place to stay, but we have some suggestions: 1 the porch is in bad need of a pressure washing. Too much bird poop on it! 2 it rained and the porch roof had several leaks. 3 gutters were overflowing directly over the steps of the front door.We enjoyed our stay other than that.
A guest from Mt Carmel, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2015 We had a great time. The cabin was very clean and nice. We went to relax and get away from the stress of life, and this was the place. The creek was nice but not to good for fishing. 4 people stay really good, but more would be hard.I would recommend this cabin getaway for anyone.
A guest from Atlanta, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2015 Beautiful cabin with everything you need. It was very clean and well kept. There's a tranquil stream in the back with soothing sounds of water and a nice fireplace. The hot tub was very spacious too. Management was very attentive, as inclement weather approached. Overall great experience. I will definitely return!
A guest from Jacksonville, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in December, 2014 The cabin itself is nice...just bring earplugs or you won't sleep if others are in the house. And if you want to fish...DON'T go here. There was not even a sight of a fish in the creek and we only found fish at 1 other location (we drove to quite a few). Disappointed in the gameroom...should mention in the ad it's not a full-sized one & don't advertise the dart board if it's not hung up & there's no darts, or the fuseball table (it's extremely small) if there are no fuse balls to play it w/. Hot tub was nice, grill was nice, house was stocked well-had everything we needed, plenty of rocking chairs, porch was awesome, didn't mind the power station view (2 of us work for a power co.), babbling stream was beautiful to listen to). Overall, the experience was good, just not quite everything we were looking for w/ 4 kids in tow.
Charles P. from Grayson, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2014 This was my wife and myself experienced a cabin and it was great. We are both stickler's for being clean and the place was very clean a well kept. The pilot light wasn't lit when we arrived but they sent someone out right away to handle it for us and he was very nice and courteous. We are definitely returning in the future and would recommend this company to everyone we know.

A guest from Newnan, GA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2014 The lady I rented from was real nice. I think she should. have told me how run down the place was. I rented in July she had plenty of time to tell it was not in great shape.
Reviewed by: A guest recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2014 What a great place to vacation! Kids loved the stream and the view was just serene! Would recommend it to anyone!
Property Manager Response: Response from A Blue Ridge Vacation, LLC Matt,
Thank you for staying at Rock Away. We are glad the kids enjoyed the wonderful creek this cabin has and that your family had a great vacation. We hope you are able to visit us again and remember as a return guest you will receive 10% off your next booking.
A guest from Griffin, Georgia recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2014 Location was great for rafting on the Ocoee which is what we were there for. Nice cabin but we had problems with the hot tub and TV. The hot tub was ice cold and was not set on the required temp. There were no instructions on working the two TVs and we could not get them to work. The screen on the back porch was pushed out but was not a problem. I reported all this and was not even offered an apology nor any type of reduction in the rent or fees. That would have been nice. Probably not renting this one again.
A guest from Smiths, AL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2014 THE ONE PICTURE THEY LEFT OUT IS THERE IS A BIG POWER SUB STATION RIGHT ACROSS THE CREEK. THE GRASS WAS SO THICK AND TALL, IT WAS HARD TO WALK. TO THEIR DEFENSE THE NEXT MORNING A VERY NICE GUY WAS THERE TO CUT IT. HE SAW WE HAD A CROQUET SO HE WENT BACK AND CUT IT A LITTLE LOWER SO WE COULD PLAY. HE WAS GREAT, WISH I COULD REMEMBER HIS NAME. THE BUSHES ON THE FRONT OF THE CABIN HAS GROWN UP SO HIGH THEY WERE ABOVE THE ROOF ON THE MAIN LEVEL. WE WERE ALSO NOT AWARE THAT WE WERE IN A SUBDIVISION. NO ONE BOTHERED US BUT JUST WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO KNOW. WE DID HAVE TWO VERY FRIENDLY NEIGHBORS TWO DOORS DOWN, A BLACK DOG AND A YELLOW LAB. WE DID CALL THE CELL NUMBER AFTER HOURS ONE TIME BECAUSE WE COULD NOT FIGURE OUT HOW TO USE THE TV. WE NEVER GOT A CALL BACK. EVEN WITH THESE FEW PROBLEMS, WE HAD A WONDERFUL TIME.
A guest from ORLANDO, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in December, 2013 This cabin was clean, and in a fabulous location! Every window had a beautiful view, and it is right on a creek! There was plenty of space inside and out! Some of the furniture and quilts smelled iffy (I was able to wash the quilts in the washer & dryer in the cabin), the seats at the patio table were falling apart and unusable, and some of the light bulbs had burned out. But really, we had a wonderful time there and would recommend it to anyone!!!
A guest from Springviille, AL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2013 Cabin was spotless, convenient, easy to find, had a well-stocked kitchen and an abundance of bath towels and wash cloths. The only negatives were the fact that the view is a power substation; there was NO bath soap (not even the little hotel mini bars of soap); gas grill didn't work; gas fireplace kept dying; and the main floor bedroom needs blinds to keep the morning light out. Otherwise, we had a great stay.
Leslie P. from Caryville, TN does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2013 We were happy with parts of the cabin. We liked the location and enjoyed the sound of the creek. However, the view was not the best and we were a little close to other houses (neighbors had a loud party one night of our stay). I thought the staff was professional, but we had a problem with the air conditioning not working and were not assisted during business hours. I spoke to someone at the office around 2:00 on Saturday and didn't receive any assistance or update. I called Holly three hours later and finally had someone sent. We were disappointed because we wanted to spend most of our day at the cabin. With the temperature at 80 inside, it wasn't a possibility and we had to leave. I appreciate Holly's quick response to the situation. I wish that it could have been resolved when I called the first time so that we could've enjoyed the cabin more.Thank you for asking for feedback.
best romantic getaway for me and my husband we will be back
Kara H. from Marietta, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2013 Omg our very first vacation ever and it was the best time ever. The cabin was very clean and the location couldn't have been any better . The over all experience was awesome the hot tub was a great and not having to bring dishes or even having the opportunity to wash and dry your clothes while your there. We loved it best money we ever spent .
A guest from Atopka, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2013 First let me say this is a beautiful, well maintained property. It was ready on time and the directions were accurate. On the downside, it is not on the Toccoa river, a stocked trout stream. It is on Hot House Springs, a small tributary to the Toccoa River and is not stocked. The second thing is the view from the front porch is to an electrical substation and the road it is on. The property is also on the edge of a subdivision. All that aside, we had a wonderful time. One other note, I think its time to upgrade the TV sets. They are the old tube style with a marginal quality picture.
Dale M. from Forsyth, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2013 Beautiful cabin with all the upgrades necessary for a comfortable vacation. Located on the banks of a beautiful stream just steps from the wrap around porch. Shallow for anyone to walk in . The gas grill was perfect for preparing dinner. The wild flower meadow was filled with song birds nesting. Located only 10 minutes from town made trips to visit the shops very easy. Can't wait to return to this true gem in the blue ridge mountains!
WENDY B. from CANTON, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2013 The cabin and location were lovely. The only reason I didn't do all 5 stars was b/c we fought fruit flies from the moment we got in the door. Was challenging to eat for the first couple of days. The other key thing was the lack of fans on the deck. We go to sit on the deck and read (write my novels) & the heat with no fan made that unpleasant. I've just never rented a cabin that didn't have fans on the deck so I never thought to ask.Still, those were fairly minor & the trip was lovely. I managed to finish writing my trilogy there which was very exciting and 2 & 1/2 years in the works.
Reviewed by: Pat & Dick S. recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2013 Lovely bubbling brook, view left a bit to be desired. Comfortable, easy use cabin. Easy drive to town. Restful and relaxing.
A guest from Birmingham, AL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2012 Our trip was wonderful!! We were not expecting the home to have a view of the power station, but other than that it was great!!
a wonderful place to stay and we will definately be back.
Janet H. from Petal, MS recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in October, 2012 it was a beautiful view, easy access for our trucks and motorcycle trailers as well as storage room in garage for our bikes. We will definately us again. The only problem was the ants. I know they had sprayed but they were everywhere and we could not leave anything out.
Brandon K. from Birmingham, AL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2012 We shared this cabin with 2 other couples and had plenty of room. Property was well taken care of and minutes away from Blue Ridge, GA. Would defiantly make the same choice in the future.
Carlene A. from Stockbridge, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2012 I enjoy Kaylor Cabin Rentals, they are always very nice and professional, their cabins are beautiful, and maintained, and the experience of a quiet relaxing romantic vacation, is definitely what you will get. I feel safe and comfortable in their cabins. This is my second rental and I will definitely be back this year to rent another one.
Lisa m. from hephzibah, georgia recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in March, 2012 My vacation was one of the best vacations I've had in years. You don't have to leave the states to enjoy the beauty of the land. The quietness. The location was perfect. Secluded enough to spend time away from city life but close enough to everything you need. Grocery store, shopping, site seeing. The town was warm and welcoming. We've decided to have our wedding there.
A guest from Cedartown, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in December, 2011 We were without heat for over 3 hours. Lots of ants upstairs and down. The sheets were dirty. But it was a beautiful cabin in a great location. Just minor stuff to contend with.
Maria N. from North lauderdale, Florida recommends this property. Gregory B. from Bartow, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in September, 2011 We absolutely loved our vacation and the Rock Away cabin. If the cabin were for sale we would be interested in buying it we loved it so much - seriously. There were a few imperfections with the cabin but overall we were extremely happy.
Brenda K. from hazel hurst, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2011 We enjoyed it so very much this is not the first time we have stayed at Rockaway and we will return again. This place is like home to us. We also have 2 wonderful friends that go with us. what more could you ask for than friends & a great place to stay!!!
James R. from Watkinsville, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2011 Yard needed to be better maintained. Grass needed cutting to tall for my small kids to play in. But scene and cabin were perfect.
A guest from Flowery Branch, Georgia recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2011 The location was beautiful and on a creek but we were not able to spend anytime near the creek as it smelled like there was something dead near the creek. It was so bad it was even hard to stay outside to use the hot tub. The management did not respond to the complaint and it was disappointing since we were not able to fish and that is what the purpose of our visit was and why we wanted to be near the creek. We also did not have any water for a period of time as apparently the well pump is on a timer. They fixed that situation pretty quickly but overall it was not what we expected for our get away.
Marie D. from Douglasville, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2011 Since my husband and I grew up in the area, we were thrilled to be able to stay on Hot House Creek. My husband used to mow the field there. And we both were baptized in the creek. Brought back a lot of old memories. The cabin and location are beautiful! ThanksMarie Dockery
Joan B. from Palm Springs, FL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in April, 2011 The outside of the property left a lot to be desired and I wasn't sure what I was going to find inside. However, the inside was beautiful and clean and cozy. The pilot light on the fireplace was not lit and so we did not use the fireplace. The hot tub was at 77 degrees and so we didn't use the hot tub. The description of the property failed to mention that across the wonderful brook is a large section of power lines which really took away from the ambiance. The surrounding area is beautiful and of course, the people of Georgia are very welcoming and friendly which made the trip worthwhile in inself.
Heather M. from Orlando, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in April, 2011 I had a GREAT time, and my 2 year old son LOVED it!. I did not want to leave! Such a peaceful place!. Only one small thing....There were 2 coffee pots and neither worked, had to go buy one, but thats all...Thank you for such a wonderful retreat
Anthonly S. from College Park, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in February, 2011 We completed the survey, and gave your cabin all 5's. We would recommend this cabin to relatives and friends. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you for allowing us to share your home away from home with us. It was the best anniversary get away that we have ever experience. Thank you again, Anthony and Constance Stanley
A guest from Cartersville, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2010 Cabin was located close to main roads making easy access to and from local towns, however still hidden enough to relax. Great spot with a great creek with trout. Relaxing weekend.
A guest from Baxley, GA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2010 The location was easy to get to compared to other mountain cabins. The cabin was nice on the inside. We enjoyed our time of R & R at Rock Away. However, the cabin's exterior needed some attention. The lawn, trees, & shrubs were a bit overgrown and there was a leak in the roof over the balcony. The grill also needs to be replaced.
Chad H. from Garfield, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2010 Cabin was very clean and very well stocked with essentials. All you need to bring is food and clothes. The creek out back was beautiful. If I had to complain I could only say that the TV remote downstairs wouldn't work the TV volume. The DVD player wouldn't work either and the grass could have used mowing. Beyond that, the place was awesome and we would gladly stay here again.
A guest from Ormand Beach, FL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2010 I was disappointed with the view. Instead of mountain views, we looked at an electrical substation plant. The hot tub did not function properly. The smoke detector's batteries needed to be replaced, consequently we were awakened by the low battery signal. The remote control for the tv needed new batteries.
Reviewed by: Susan D. recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2010 We had a WONDERFUL time and are looking forward to booking a cabin with you all again this fall. This time the kids want to come!
Troy A. from Sharpsburg, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in June, 2010 At first sight, we were a bit concerned. The outside of the home is weathered. It needs pressure washed and restained. There is not much to the landscaping. Once we walked inside, we were very satisfied. It is nicely furnished and very clean. We had to call to replace an outside light bulb, and had someone out immediately. Also, had to call for assistance on the television dvd set up and was assisted right away. The management company was on top of things! Great service. The home is very comfortable. All in all, we would recommend this property.
A guest from Warner Robins, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in March, 2010 Cabin was in good condition except that I had my 9 year old son with me and he was wanting to play in the recreation room but the pool table was in terrible shape only 1 cue stick had a tip and there were no darts for the dart board and no ball available for the foosball table.
WONDERFULL, IT IS A GREAT EXPERIENCE, NICE PLACE, THE CABIN IS BEATIFULL, IN EXCELLENT CONDITIONS, A PLACE TO REMEMBER FOREVER
CARLOS M. from TAMPA, FLORIDA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in January, 2010 WONDERFULL, IT IS A GREAT EXPERIENCE, NICE PLACE WITH A VIEW TO THE MOUNTAINS, THE CABIN IS BEATIFULL, IN EXCELLENT CONDITIONS, IT IS A PLACE TO REMEMBER FOREVER. EXCELLENT ATTENTION IN THE RENTAL OFFICE.
A guest from Norcross, GA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in December, 2009 Every pot and pan was burnt or rusted! The Decor looked as if it was all the leftovers that one in the family wanted in their "home".
Whit M. from Snellville, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2009 Very clean, quiet, and comfortable; generally in very good condition. Staff at Kaylor was very easy-going and friendly. Kitchen was very well stocked. There were a few items that need maintenance attention including the upstairs toilet seat, screen door closer, missing smoke detector. There are plenty of trash bags and dishwasher detergent - for other consumables (toilet paper, laundry supplies, toiletries, etc.) plan to supply your own.View is pleasant enough, except for the power substation across the stream, which is not all that intrusive (no bright lights or noise, just ugly). But if you were wanting lots of trees or a mountain view, this is not it.
Farooq B. from Orlando, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in November, 2009 Nice location, enjoyable stay. Probably will stay here next time also. However:-Ran out of toilet paper, no spares were found, had to purchase additional from local supermarket. If you are wondering, we did not use any extra, their was just not enough to begin with.-Hot tub needs cleaning. Yellow areas. Probably just old.-2nd Floor toilet seat in bad shape, needs replacement.-Need new pots and frying pans.
