Cabin Cove Gary A. from Paola, KS does not recommend this property. Stayed for 6 days in September, 2012 The property needed painting in all the rooms. There was dog hair on the sofas and in the corners of the rooms (there was cleaning supplies there which helped but after paying almost $4,000 for the week it was disappointing to not have it spotless on our arrival). Also, the carpets were dirty -there were several stains. Our time outside was limited as well because the bugs (flies and mosquitoes) were biting horribly (even with us using repellant). Outside landscaping was in need of care - half dead tree and tall weeds in the front yard.Also, didn't know the property was "for sale" until we picked up the keys. We were thankful that there were no showings while we were there but it was on our minds. |

2 Weeks at Cabin Cove Elizabeth D. from Bedminster, NJ recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in July, 2012 We spent two weeks in July/August. The house is great - The dogs loved the large yard. We had friends and family come and go over the two weeks and there was plenty of spaces to spread out inside and out. The house was in good condition and very clean. The dock was great and we caught crab as well as some small stripers. One note though - the tiny sandy beach only comes out when the tide is low and really couldn't be used other than to launch the canoe and kayak (which were great to have), so just keep that in mind if that's a big thing for you. And a couple of umbrellas around the pool for shade would have made it even better. As usual, ESVR was AWESOME and the process from start to finish could not have been easier. Can't wait until next year! |

Well designed and furnished home. Very comfortable for relaxation and family activities. Abundant wildlife including, geese, ducks, and deer. Even a friendly tree frog that enjoyed the spacious deck along with us. Pool, canoe, bicycles, and crabing / fishing dock a very nice bonus. A great and memorable time was had by all. |

Worst Luck! A guest from Clayton, NJ does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2012 My family was looking forward to this vacation all year. When we arrived the house and grounds were more beautiful than in the pictures. One thing- If you plan on swimming in the bay, don't, there were hundreds of jelly fish floating around the dock. The pool was the best part, it was gorgeous. We were enjoying our stay until the 3rd night when the toilets and master shower started flooding the first floor quickly. We thought it was the septic backing up into the house and with a baby in the house we quickly packed up our stuff before we were completely flooded.(Ended up being a major grease back up) We drove 3 hours home at 10pm. Eastern shore offered to put us in a new house but by that time we were frustrated and tired and just wanted out. Unless the homeowners installed something to prevent this from happening again - I would not take the chance with this house! Property Manager Response: Response from Eastern Shore Vacation Rentals LLC Thank you for the feedback. The home has been completely fixed, cleaned and deodorized and has had several successful rentals since. There was a clog in the septic line that caused this to happen, and while there is no way to prevent this from happening, it has been repaired and addresssed. We are sorry that you had this experience and we did have property management on the scene immediately to help move you to a new home to keep your vacation on track. We do several preventative maintenance checks per year on our properties, however, the unexpected can still happen. We feel that it is those times when ESVR is set apart from other firms or "by owner" homes, we have emergency 24/7 on call service, and a large portfolio of homes so if something mechanical does fail, can typically move you to a new home and keep the disruption of your vacation to a minimal. |

OUR FAMILY STAY AT CABIN COVE MANOR IN SHERWOOD, MD. Janet M. from Pittsburgh, PA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in September, 2011 We stayed at this rental two years ago and the upkeep of the property was very good. There was a stone driveway to enter the property. This year there was no driveway visible to enter the property. However, this stay we did encounter a few problems. When we arrived we were greeted by a huge amount of mosquitos and bees. My son-in-law had bites all over his legs, my grandson had bites on the top of his head, etc, etc. I did call and was told that there was nothing that they could spray for the mosquitos, but they would leave us a can of bee spray. Because of this, we were unable to use the pool, grill, or the back porch, which we do enjoy. Upon entering there was a musty smell in the upstairs bedroom and the carpet was wet. We were told that was due to the weather before we came. I would have thought that they would have this taken care of and dried upon our arrival. The house itself is a beautiful house, but does need some repairs. If the outside bushes were trimmed and the grass cut, I do not think that the mosquito problem would have been so bad. My husband and I are in our late 60's and there was no railing from the back porch to the pool area. Also no railing to get into the pool. Two of the bottom wooden steps off the back porch were broken, which in itself is a hazard. Our family does like this area and would hope to come back in the near future, but I would hope that some necessary repairs would be made to this property. We have also been in communication with the lawn service at this home, and a new service provider will be in charge of landscaping in 2012. ESVR attempted to steam clean the upstairs carpets after some water damage as a result of the Hurricane in early September. We thought we had propertly communicated this to guests, but we apologize for the inconvenience. We occassionally steam clean carpets mid-season to assure our homes are properly cleaned, but we rarely have a situation where carpets remain wet during a guest stay. |

Wonderful Week! A guest from Winfield, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in July, 2011 My husband and I, along with our two adult daughters enjoyed a wonderful week at Cabin Cove Manor! The property is large and private with no houses even visible from the pool. Our view of the bay and the deer who visited the yard created a peaceful atmosphere for our vacation. The house is large, yet cozy with lots of windows...a delight. We biked for miles (there are 3 bikes in the garage), the canoe and one person kayak (also in the garage) were fun on the bay. We were able to get Internet access for two computers by rebooting the wireless router. Our dogs loved the large area to run and play. All of the ESVR personnel were a delight, and went out of their way to ensure our stay was perfect, thank you! We will do business with you again! |

Stayed for 7 days in June, 2011 Only complaint my family had was the slow Internet and cell phone service. It was very frustrating to say the least. We improvised as best as possible, but if there is someway to speed up the service it would make this property an ideal vacation spot. One other minor note was the lack of protection from the sun near the pool. An umbrella was missing from the table along side the pool. Overall, a very nice house on a beautiful piece of property. Because of the location of some of our homes, the only internet available is satelite internet, and this service can be compromised by weather or issues connecting to the satelite. However, there were some things that should warrant attention to the agency and owners. The table on the deck was damaged and also the outside umbrellas rendering them useless. On the dock the crab traps that were available were not in usable condition. Two lounge chairs were severely damaged and placed next to the trash cans. Inside most rooms were delightfully decorated and pleasant but some needed repainting due to marks on walls. The biggest issue was the internet. Slower than dialup and not very reliable. The value for our money was in the size, location, amenities, and comfortablilty. A little tlc would make this property a real gem. A wind storm prior to this guest's arrival damaged the table on the deck, and the guest was notified that a suitable replacement was on the way. This was also the case for the lounge chairs, which were replaced prior to the guest's arrival. Because of the rural location of the home, internet is provided through a satelite service. Also, please be aware that crab traps may be provided as a courtesy by the owners, but are not required amenities maintained by Eastern Shore Vacation Rentals throughout the summer. We ask that our guests take care of them, so others may enjoy them. |

Great place for a family vacation Richard S D. from Columbus, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2010 We really enjoyed our stay. It was a perfect size for eight of us: two grandparents, four adults and two children. The pool is not large but was perfect for playing with the kids. The grounds are very large and isolated from neighbors. We rented kayacks for the week, did a lot of bicycling, and did some crabbing off the dock. The rental agency was very nice and responsive. |
