A guest from Chico, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in October, 2016 We had a wonderful stay at Sealodge E8. I know some people like to sit on the beach, but the cliff view was just as amazing.
Mary W. from Grand Rapids, MI recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in September, 2016 This was a Great Condo. Completely furnished, clean, nicely decorated and very comfortable beds. The owners thought of everything even coolers, towels, beach chairs etc. for going to the beach. The Sun rise and Ocean View from the North East was Awesome. What a way to wake up in the morning. Very Relaxing and comfortable stay. Perfect for our needs. No AC if anyone asks or requests. The ocean breezes keep the condo comfortable all day without AC. The One bedroom and bench area easily accommodate (3) adults for sleeping. No direct access from the Unit to the beach. Driving a short distance to the beach was not a problem at all. Very quiet area for R&R.
A guest from Lindstrom, MN recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2016 The good: Breath-taking views & from every room! Great location. Easy rental/check-in process. Great beach chairs! Didn't use kitchen but looked well-equipped.Room for improvement: Add a ceiling fan to at least the bedroom. It rains often so couldn't leave windows open all the time, & the small fans didn't do much. Lack of air movement has apparently contributed to musty smell, especially when windows closed up. Add a washer/dryer in the unit, please! There ARE hookups... Coin machines inconvenient; can't go anywhere until laundry is done/out. And no change machine. BBQ grills require charcoal, which was never stated; would need to go buy ($). Bedding smelled very sour, like it sat in washing machine for too long. Contract says to leave 1 set of linens for cleaner in order to avoid extra charge. Xtra set in closet smelled a little musty, so we went to coin laundry & washed... Locks on door cumbersome & require 2 hands in order to open--from inside or outside. A fresh coat of paint (maybe soft ocean blue color?) would help it feel not so dated.
Joel H. from Johnson City, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2016 This was a perfect spot for our vacation in Kauai. Sealodge is a great location on the North Shore convenient to everything. As an added bonus, it has it's own "private" beach. A small trail leads to a small beach that has excellent snorkeling. Be careful on the trail and bring bug spray though. We woke to beautiful sunrises every morning. The furnishings in E8 were simple, comfortable and clean. A perfect spot for a great vacation.
A guest from Ridgeville, SC recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in April, 2016 From that pictured balcony and daybed, we watched glorious sunrises, spotted whales, and saw sea turtles feeding in the reef below us. The unit was clean and simple, nothing fancy or state of the art, (maybe even a touch tired) but perfectly adequate. The resort that Sealodge is part of has a back entrance to the Princeville shopping center, which has a post office, grocery store, restaurants, etc., making it convenient. We enjoyed nearby Anini Beach, took a helicopter ride from the Princeville airport, and thoroughly enjoyed the north shore. If you are looking for luxurious accommodations, you may want to go elsewhere, but if you want simple and clean with a spectacular view, this unit may be for you. Bring your binoculars and enjoy! Note: There is no A/C but there is one portable fan, not that we needed it. The wind was constantly blowing from the east, where all the unit's window face.
James H. from San Jose, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in December, 2015 We were absolutely blown away by the incredible views of E8! Accommodations were even better than we expected. Bed was comfortable and all was very clean. This is a perfect romantic get-away or honeymoon accommodation (while the day bed is also comfortable and could potentially sleep another person or two if need be.) It is quiet complex, not a lot of foot traffic, and has a scenic pool with amazing mountain views. (The trees in the parking lot area could be cut back a bit to allow for Bali Hai/mountain views at sunset.) If you are looking at other units to rent at SeaLodge, just be sure the palm trees aren't impeding these perfect, pristine views (or just insist on renting E8! We will definitely be back!
Jane F. from Long Beach, NY recommends this property. Stayed for 12 days in October, 2015 It was totally excellent I had two criticisms:The barbecue area had charcoal devices: No one mentioned you had to go and buy your own charcoal and lighter in order to use it, this should have been explained in materials. The absence of a washer dryer was inconvenient.
Kathleen K. from Wilmington, Illinois recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in October, 2015 We were pleased with the rental property we stayed in during October 2015. The view was spectacular, the location quiet and private, which we desired and the condo was clean, although a few minor things were noticed, such as kitchen blinds/ window not working properly. We appreciated the extras that the owners provided, and thoroughly enjoyed our 7 days. We would definitely return.
Kareem S. from Oakland, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2015 Amazing value and some of the best views ever. Downside is that it is located in Princeville which is sort of a rich enclave in Kauai.
Jason B. from Nashville, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 25 days in June, 2015 The furniture was a little tired and there's no washer/dryer in the unit-- but that view and the breezes more than made up for it.
Sonja I. from Fort Collins, Colorado recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in March, 2015 Our stay at Sealodge E8 was great! The ocean views were fantastic, the unit was secluded, quiet and peaceful. We cooked most of our meals butthe fish tacos at Kauai Fish Market will not disappoint!
A guest from Calgary, AB recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2015 We had a truly memorable stay in E8. The view is jaw-dropping beautiful, pictures online do not do any justice. The place was immaculately clean when we arrived, and fully equipped with all the little details you can think of to make our stay very comfortable. It is a bit expensive compared to other places in Kauai but totally worth it!
Donald P. from Castle Hill, NSW recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2015 The condo was everything we expected and more. Spacious, quiet and all the necessary amenities. The condo was close to shopping, and the beautiful scenery you would expect to see on such a beautiful island.
A guest from Clinton, IA recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in October, 2014 The honest-to-God best part of each day's adventure was returning to E3, opening the door to the most magnificent sea breeze and view of the ocean below, refreshing you, revitalizing you, welcoming you. This was a clean, wonderful comfortable unit. The only thing missing was washer and dryer, but we used our traveling companions in their unit. That would not ever prevent me from choosing it again. The bed was great, even tho' a couple nights I slept in the window seat and that was as good as a bed! I would never come back to any unit but this one because I LOVED it!
A guest from N. Chesterfield, Virginia does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in September, 2014 This condo was perfect for a 4 day stay for a couple. Beautiful view, in a quiet complex, however, we were extremely displeased with the presentation of the condo (i.e. the reasons we rented it), and the service (maintenance/housekeeping)was less than acceptable. The posting for the condo stated that it had a washer and dryer. It did not. While the complex does have washers and dryers onsite, they were not even in the same building, let alone our unit, and they were not free. This was one of the main reasons we rented a condo as opposed to a hotel. There also is no air conditioning of any kind in the condo. We called maintenance and were promised fans that were never delivered. We got over all of the short comings, but we did not get what we paid for, nor did we get what we were promised.
Property Manager Response: Response from Ahh Aloha Kauai Vacation Rentals Sealodge E8 does not have washer/dryer in the condo, as is noted in its listing: "Washer & Dryer located in nearby building." There are coin operated machines in the building next door. Our apologies that maintenance did not deliver your fans.
A guest from Poway, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in August, 2014 It was totally awesome. We loved waking up in the middle of the night to crashing waves. Nothing beats the view from the balcony. We will be back again. :)
Morgan S. from Beverly Hills, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in August, 2014 The view from this place is unbelievable. Being able to wake up to this view, and coming back at the end of the day to this view was truly a blessing. This is not a fancy place, but it has absolutely everything you need. Having breakfast and watching the sunrise on the balcony is something I would do every morning if I could. Thank you.
Jessica I. from tustin, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in May, 2014 We spent two glorious weeks in Kauai and it was great to have this condo as our home base for our trip. The weather on the north shore is unpredictable, so we did spend a bit of time driving south to sunnier locales, but we loved the quiet location of this unit. When the weather did behave, the close proximity to Hanalei and Princeville were wonderful. The views from every room were incredible! The photos do not lie!! We woke up with the sun each day -- not only because we were on California time, but also because the unit points east! (Bring an eye mask if you're not an early riser.)The condo provided good amenities, though we did have to purchase some cooking basics (salt, pepper, oil) and convert one of our bath hand towels to a dish towel (so as not to use up a bunch of paper towels). The fan in the bathroom was horrifically loud and the bed pretty darn uncomfortable, but those were really our only complaints. We loved hanging out on the window seat, reading and enjoying the breeze and ocean view. Our neighbors were practically non-existent (even though they were there!). It really felt like we had the whole place to ourselves.Bonus: there's a beach behind the property known as Hideaways that you can hike to for a truly remote beach experience.Overall, we highly recommend this property. It fit our needs perfectly, was enough space to lounge in when we stayed at home (which was rare given all the outdoor activities), and being able to cook a few meals at home was wonderful.
Mary P. from Winston Salem, North Carolina recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in April, 2014 Great condo. Wish we could have stayed longer for a week. Great view from porch. Flexible with check out. Only drawback was no washer dryer in condo, one available in next building.
A guest from Burlington, Vermont recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in March, 2014 We were completely satisfied with our stay at Sealodge E8. We had a problem with the TV and someone came to fix it right away. We would definitely return. Especially loved the fantastic view.
A guest from OTLEY, Iowa recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in March, 2014 It was good experience even though we were not thrilled about accommodation. It needs a lot of updates. I do not even understand why I had to pay damage insurance. What to insure? However the bed was comfortable and the pillows were good for us. We like small pillows. Location was nice and quite. I We really enjoyed Kauai, surfing, exploring the island. Hawaii is awesome and we would like to come back.
Property Manager Response: Response from Ahh Aloha Kauai Vacation Rentals We agree that Sealodge E8 is not one of our more updated condos. However it is clean, has all the basics, and the view is amazing. If you come back to visit again, we suggest you look at our premium Sealodge condos instead of a budget unit, as you will find they have the updates and amenities that the discounted bargain units lack.
Linda R. from Santee, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in February, 2014 The unit did not have AC and unfortunately, it rained many days and we had to keep windows closed. It was like a steam room when we returned late in the afternoon and smelled very stinky from being closed up. View was incredible. Please remove "BBQ area" from your advertisement. It is a brick shelf with a make shift grill rack; if you want to cook, you must provide everything else. And, if it is raining, you could not grill with no overhead coverage. I noticed someone heading for the BBQ area with a huge stack of steaks. I could only imagine his disappointment when he saw the make-shift grill. It would take very little to add a cheap propane grill for guest use. Also, update prices and time on laundry machines. Prices and machine times listed are inaccurate. Beach access would be almost impossible, unless you are an avid hiker. Pool was ice cold. However, I would stay there again for the price. Very private, adequate parking, nice views all over.
A guest from Quebec, Quebec recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in January, 2014 My wife and I really enjoyed our week in the sealodge E8. The amazing view, plenty of space and the impecable cleanness of the place made our stay unforgettable. The only downfall is the lack of a beach. There is a little trail going downhill to a sandy creek 50 feet long but don't expect sun rays there. The closest real beach is the St-Regis (1h30 walk...)
A guest from Vancouver, BC recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in November, 2013 Beautiful view and location. The room had a musty smell to it as you are to keep the windows closed whenever you are no in it. Being right beside the Ocean and the damp air with all the rain had caused a bit of a smell. Other than that I was happy with my stay
A guest from Anchorage, AK does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in October, 2013 I understand when we rent a condo for more than a few days we MAY need to do a load of laundry but we were faced with a serious lack of towels.NO Beach towels, meant we had to go BUY them. NOT planned for!NO extra BATH towels/hand towels, wash cloths meant we had to stand in line at the laundry facility to wash them. It was rediculous!Your condo is in Hawaii and most people come to play in the sand and surf, which means taking showers multiple times each day.We contacted the housekeeping and said they would drop them off -- nothing. When I got upset with her, she dropped off floor mats, which we had None of anyway. There should be extra towels (AND beach towels)in the condo just as there are extra sheets, blankets, pillows and quilts.I will not stay at these units again.
A guest from Kamloops, BC recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2013 Great Location! Awesome View from deck, bench seat and bedroom!! My only suggestion is the resort needs to purchase a large propane BBQ so we could enjoy bbqing our fresh fish
A guest from Cherry Hill, NJ recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in May, 2013 I would recommend this location to anyone who wants a peaceful relaxing vacation. There are many pretty beaches within driving distance.
Eric B. from Kent, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 12 days in May, 2013 Sealodge E8 was affordable and the views were amazing. Right on the coast of the north shore and we loved watching the sunrise from our bed each morning. It was peaceful and quiet. The condo itself was simple, very clean, and well stocked (dishes, cookware, plenty of towels and bedding, beach towels, beach bag, boogie boards, beach mat, beach chairs). Even though no air conditioning it was cool from the ocean breezes. The Sealodge beach was neat to visit but not easy to access (steep hill, crossing a stream, hopping down rocks), though we had fun getting to it. This was our second time to Kauai and we enjoyed the simplicity of staying at a condo versus a resort. So many beaches, waterfalls, hikes, and sites to see, who wants to stay on a resort anyway?
Christine D. from Maplewood, MN recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in May, 2013 Overall loved Sealodges for the location and views. We only used condo to sleep, eat and shower so did not spend a lot of time there. Only two complaints, a few cockroaches and no easy access to outdoor water to rinse of sandy/muddy shoes. The outdoor water was locked (no handle) so I had to have the maintenance man get a hose and turn on the water for me, the second time I needed to use the water I could not find him so was out of luck. Shoes are to be taken off outside the unit so it would be very helpful to have easy access to outdoor water to rinse off dirt and mud.
A guest from Toronto, ON recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2013 Beautiful apartment with great views. Well kept. A few minor repairs needed and were done quickly. I missed having a washer/dryer and internet access. Don't know if I would book it for a long stay for that reason. Overall it was a good experience.
A guest from Kandern, Baden recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in April, 2013 Our stay was really great. The apartment is clean, comftorble with a beautiful view. We enjoyed our stay really much which was 5 nights.
Lynette M. from Covina, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in March, 2013 We had such a wonderful, relaxing time in Kauai. It was probably our best trip there yet even though it rained during half of our trip. On rainy days we took advantage of our beautiful view of the day bed bay window and sat there for hours, sipping coffee/tea and reading a good book. It was heavenly. The location was calm, peaceful and quiet. The "secret" beach just down from the property was gorgeous with wonderful snorkeling. The whales were migrating along the north shore while we were there and we could see pods playing in the water just beyond the reef from our window. Again, heavenly!
A guest from Fargo, ND recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in March, 2013 The view from E8 is spectacular! We spent many hours just watching the ocean from the lanai overlooking the cliff. The whales alone were great entertainment. The view includes the beaches between Sealodge and the lighthouse at Kilauea, the breaking waves, the reef below the cliffs, and the Makai golf course. The furniture and decor are in need of some imaginative updating, but the unit was clean. We have rented with Ahh Aloha before and always found them to be pleasant and responsive.
A guest from Salem, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in February, 2013 Thank you Ahhloha Properties for taking the initiative to fix up an aging complex to a condition of allowing a WONDERFUL stay at accomodations that are clean, well equipped, functional, and especially AFFORDABLE! Unit E8 has a most spectacular view! One can easlily get lost just in watching sunrises and moon rises. Thank you again for the affordability; please keep it that way! Most world travelers, unless they have all the money in the world, rarely choose a place more than $90 a night to stay in.
Have low expectations and be satisfied with the gorgeous view!
Kay S. from Camano Island, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in January, 2013 I would recommend with reservations. You must be aware that this is a very old property that has not been updated; bathroom is tiny, exhaust fan very noisy; refrigerator makes noises like someone is knocking at the door (I answered it twice!)...and this has been mentioned in the reviews as long ago as May; it is now February! The kitchen is poorly equipped, and you can hardly see to use the stove; no light above it. Altogether, the unit is very poorly lit. Neither the management company or the "concierge" followed through with our requests. As long as you are prepared to put up with the shortcomings, the view is to die for. Hopefully the bedroom screen will not fall out of the window! and what's with all the dead flies in the unit? They re-appeared every day, after we had cleaned up the ones already fallen on the floor.
Joanne A. from Puyallup, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in January, 2013 We loved everything about Sealodge E8: the view, the pool, the grounds, and the comfort of the unit. A couple of small things were the lack of bbq (it is part of the description, but when we went to use it, found it is not gas and requires charcoal, which most people are not going to buy for a week's stay. Also, the kitchen did not have a pitcher for making juice, nor a cheese grater. These are not that important, and I mention them as suggestions for improvement, not as criticism. We definitely plan to stay here again in the near future!
Thomas H. from Sinzing, Bavaria recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in January, 2013 We were very happy with our choice! Will definitely recommend to friends and famil. We would love to make it again. Absolutely great location, great value. Onlz downside was the paperwork to make the reservation. But, it was def. worth the effort!
Bob H. from Hercules, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in January, 2013 This a nice older but well maintained condo with a great view. We enjoyed our stay and will be back. One negative was that we had high winds when we were there and it was impossible to open the windows without getting high winds inside the unit. There are no ceiling fans and it got a bit stuffy. Also, the fridge compressor makes a clanging sound from time to time and needs to get fixed.
A guest from Mill Creek, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in December, 2012 We had a good time staying at Sealodge. We really like the north shore so it is a great location for us. The rental process is very smooth. The unit had wonderful view of the ocean. The unit is in good condition considered that it was built in 1960s. All in all, we highly recommend it to anyone who wants to stay in the area.
Wendy L. from Midland, MI recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in November, 2012 When I walked through the door of this condo, I almost cried for joy. Seriously. The gorgeous ocean/cliff views and the continuous roar of the waves comprise my best memories of our entire four-island trip. My husband and I liked the north shore location; it is the most beautiful part of the island--more secluded but not too far. The deck was nice and private, and we spent a lot of time out there looking at the stars, listening to the ocean and watching night snorkelers. We also appreciated the beach supplies that were available (cooler, umbrella, beach chairs, mats, towels, snorkel gear, bags, etc.). I definitely would rent this condo again.
A guest from Davis, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in October, 2012 We enjoyed our stay at E8 and would definitely come back ! The views from this apartment are amazing, actually more than amazing and we already miss having breakfast on the balcony overlooking the ocean. The apartment was clean and well equipped with everything that you may need. On the other hand, the furniture is somewhat old but functional so if you are high maintenance this may not be the perfect place for you.
Leah O. from Calgary, Alberta recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in September, 2012 We loved our week at Sealodge E8! The view was amazing, and sea breezes kept the unit cool. The unit was well set up - full kitchen, beach supplies, and plenty of storage space. The kitchen and bathroom are a bit dated, but still very clean and functioning well.
A guest from New York, NY recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2012 Located on the north shore, our rental had a fantastic view of the sunrise every morning - truly breathtaking! Great location not far from the Na'Pali Coast. Our condo was simple and clean, exactly what you need for a restful and recharging vacation.
Paul J. from Livonia, MI recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in August, 2012 Of all the places we stayed on the islands on our last trip this was by far our favorite. We woke up to and got to watch the sunrise every morning from the large bedroom window over the bay. The unit had just about every amenity that you'd need and it was very quiet/private.Our only complaint is that it could have been a little bit cleaner but for the price you are getting a great value. We loved the north shore but don't expect there to be much to do after sundown, Kauai is not really known for nightlight compared to other vacation destinations and the north shore is even a ways away from hotspots on the eastern shore.Overall I'd recommend the Sealodge and specifically this unit, but not when we want to go :P.
sonia l. from New York, NY recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2012 There are no words to describe our staying there ...... amazing, absolutely addicted to the view from our room window, and the beach, so secluded, so gorgeous..... definitely recommended!!!
Tara T. from Cordova, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2012 My husband and I are teachers so naturally we were looking for a nice place to stay that wasn't going to cost an arm and a leg. When I came across The Sealodge I read every review and looked at every unit and thought this place looked great! Boy were we blown away! The view was spectacular, we could see the ocean from every window. I could watch the sunrise from my bed. The place was super clean and kept up nicely. The place isn't super modern, but that doesn't bother me. Think wicker furniture. It was so quiet too, we felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. The grounds are nicely kept. There is a pool but we went to the beach instead. There are dishes, pots and pans, towels, boogie boards, games, extra sheets and blankets, etc. The Princeville area is very nice and close to Hanalei which is wonderful. Lots of resturaunts and shops and a great beach. I would stay here again and again and I would recommend it it anyone. I think it's one of Kauai's best kept secrets. Can we keep it that way? :)
A guest from Aurora, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in May, 2012 We had a terrific stay at Sealodge E8, really enjoyed our time there and would definitely go back. The location is perfect if you are visiting the North and East side of Kaua'i. Very convenient to everything yet it allows for privacy. The views from the condo are amazing. The surises and sunsets beyond compare. Yes, the hike to the beach is a bit steep and would be slippery if wet, luckily it was dry when we were there and we actually enjoyed hiking to the secluded Sealodge beach where there were no more than 10 people at any one time. The snorkeling there is pretty good too. We didn't bring ours, but it would be a great beach for the kids. We appreciated the beach mats provided. There was no one scheduled to come in after us and the housekeeper let us have a late check-out which allowed us to enjoy a full day before heading to the airport for our late flight. That was much appreciated! In previous reviews folks have mentioned the spotty WIFI - we had no problems catching a signal when we needed it. Overall the condo is in good shape. There are a couple of minor things that need attention. We also noticed the "knocking" sound from the fridge although it was infrequent. The light switches by the front door do not work. A few more regular water glasses would be nice, otherwise the kitchen is well stocked. The upholstery, curtains, blinds and fans could use a good cleaning at some point. We did not see any "critters". Sealodge E8 is a great place to spend your hard earned vacation and believe us, you will be relaxed by the time you leave. Go check it out and have a wonderful time.
A guest from Anchorage, Alaska recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in April, 2012 I left a not about this when we left. The refrigerator has a knock that I think is the cooling fan but it sounds like someone is hammering on the wall in the next unit. It happens a lot and is enough to wake you up. It needs to be looked at before the fridge burns up.
bradley c. from penshurst, nsw does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in March, 2012 we entered the room and it smelt of was coming from the spare linen in garbage bags underneath the daybed by the window.3 hours and $20 of air freshener later it was only bearable.wtf.great view.quiet spot.outside of building is in very poor condition.apparently the room under us could hear every footstep we made and at 1 am he knocked on our door to say please stop walking around.oh,what we can't walk around? old design timber building lacking any refurbishment.really we would have preferred to pay another couple of hundred and had a better experience elsewhere.if you can put up with the above then i will say the main bed was very comfortable and the shower was great.the kitchen was ideal.thanks.hope this helps future travellers.
Frank B. from Pleasanton, California recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in February, 2012 It's always a pleasure when my family and visit Kauai. Are stay at the Sealodge was relaxing and fun even with all the rain and road closures. The Sealodge staff vary supportive and professional and the chemistry with the guest vary friendly that's not always case. Lady luck shined on us. Aloha until next time.
A guest from North Rocks, recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in February, 2012 The views from the condo are fantastic. We mostly just relaxed and stayed in the condo looking at the view and enjoying the surrounds. It was peaceful and listening to the ocean at night was lovely. There is no easy beach access but we are not swimmers so it didn't worry us. The condo furnishings are out of date but it has been well maintained. Overall, great for us. We'll be back.
A guest from Sacramento, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in January, 2012 Fabulous view. Condo needed a good scrub, fresh paint, and updating. Bulb burned out in entryway so hard to enter door code after dark. Mold and mildew on bathroom ceiling and shower curtain.
A guest from Sonoma, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in December, 2011 We loved this place so much. We are very grateful for the experience, would so love to come back. The sunrises were glorious, the birds and sounds of the ocean were so serene. Appreciated the snorkel and mask provided. Overall experience, a dream. Only suggestion, more towels, cover for the sofa, one more set of sheets.
A guest from Ft Carson, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in December, 2011 WE LOVED OUR STAY IN SEA LODGE E8!!! The pictures do not even begin to show the beauty of the views. It was so incredible waking up every morning to a beautiful sunrise view from the comfort of your bed! The condo was very clean and had everything that we needed for our stay. We cooked a lot of our meals and we had all the utensils we needed to do so! There were also beach chairs, boogie boards, some snorkeling gear, movies, books, games, etc etc that made the stay a lot of fun too!My favorite place to hang out was the bay window in the front room. The view was so beautiful I couldn't believe it! Princeville is a quiet, peaceful town compared to the rest of the island-- perfect for a relaxing vacation! You are given a code to the door at the condo so you never even have to deal with checking in, and we never heard our neighbors-- we felt like we had it all to ourselves! Close to serene beachs and great hikes! Bring change for the laundry on site; we packed a little baggie of laundry soap and dryer sheets to save on buying it there. We are very pleased with our stay if you can't tell from this review; we'd stay again!
Dianna S. from San Francisco, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 15 days in November, 2011 The location is perfect for us. The condo is very clean and comfortable. The view looking out over the reefs and to the lighthouse and the sunrise are about as beautiful as it gets. It's always nice to have chairs and a cooler to take to the beach. The one thing that we both noticed were the cushions on the couch, the chair and the large blue cushion next to the window. They could use a good washing. Other than that we would like to return sometime and stay at E8. Thank you very much,Dianna and Alain
Calvin P. from Victoria, BC recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in October, 2011 The view was incredible! Location central to all activities. Watching rain storms come in was awesome. No wifi was the biggest deterrent to being 'very satisfied".
Andrew H. from Milford, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in September, 2011 This condo is in a perfect place on the North Shore. It is out of the way, yet convenient for Hanalei and grocery shopping. Little places to eat and shop near by too. A bit far if you are spending lots of time on the South or West, but a one day trip that way is not bad. So worth it for the spectacular view. We woke to wonderful sunrises over the Kilauea Lighthouse and Anini Beach. Peaceful. Lack of Air conditioning was not a problem for us since the sea breeze cooled everything off fine. Great little condo for two trying to lay back and rest and spend time together.
Bruno H. from Watertown, MA recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in August, 2011 We stayed at Sealodge E8 for our honeymoon, and the condo was more than we expected; it was simple but included everything we could possibly need for our stay. It was organized and clean when we arrived. The oceanfront view from the bedroom window, the Lanai, and the porch was absolutely breathtaking. The advertising pictures totally understate the views. It was very relaxing to listen to the ocean and feel the breeze every night. Sealodge beach is a great place for snorkeling, and is never crowded. Would definitely return to Sealodge E8 in the future!!
Sarah J. from Roseville, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2011 The place is perfectly located right on the edge of a stunning cliff overlooking the ocean. The views, from EVERY window, are breathtaking. Nothing beats watching the sunrise from a bedroom window! Perfect size for a couple in love.
A guest from Greencastle, IN recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2011 We were amazed at the beautiful views out our bedroom and familyroom windows! We felt like we were the only ones on the beach! It was not commercial or busy, just what we were looking for!!
A guest from Vail, Arizona recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in May, 2011 This is a very nice property although it is a not "fancy" or plush. The views cannot be beat and the unit was comfortable. It is well equipped (although the blinds were broken in living room and kitchen - a bit annoying) and has everything you will need for your stay. Nice bedding, towels, shower - even had beach chairs and boogie board. I wish the beach had been more accessible - very steep walk and it was rainy for the first couple of days so very muddy and slippery. Close to shopping and only 15 minutes to Hanalei Beach so location otherwise was great! I would stay there again but if you are looking for something plush this is more standard fare. They were very accommodating and overall it was a great experience!
A guest from Anchorage, Alaska recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in April, 2011 This was our 14th trop to Kauai. We have stayed in another Sealodge unit many times but this was our first time in this one. The only things that dropped the score a little was the lack of on-site WI-FI and no fan. As we read though, in the info, there were a couple of WI-FI signals in the area so that wasn't really that big a deal. We answered "yes" to the question about recommending this unit to a friend to show our rating of the place but we aren't telling anyone about it. We did exactly that with the unit where we normally stay and it ended up rented at the time we normally use it. So you got us in E8 and we will be back. Thanks for helping make this an incredibly relaxing two weeks.J & KAnchorage, Alaska
A guest from Marion, MT recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in March, 2011 Kitchen dishes and utensils surprisingly cheap - thrift store variety. Two drinking glasses were cracked upon arrival. Living room furniture uncomfortable, but clean and looked nice. Incredible views, great lanai, good bed, very clean, condo very quiet, very nice grounds. Would return.
Bonnie C. from West Sand Lake, NY does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in February, 2011 the property had cockroaches and zillions of ants. Mosquitoes were breeding under the shower mat. the property was missing little but helpful things like cutting boards. did not have a washer/dryer. Mattress pad was old, ripped, the pillows were old/musty, etc. the unit needed sprucing up!
Terry B. from Glen Carbon, Illinois recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in February, 2011 Unbelievably beautiful view out our windows and from the lanai. A very good value for a very reasonable price.
Bob J. from Estes Park, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 20 days in December, 2010 We enjoyed our stay tremendously in E-8. Everything was good, except that we had two light bulbs burn out, and someone brought us exactly two replacements. We thought an extra one or two would have been good! And, having to buy our own TP seemed kind of cheap.Really enjoyed our stay!
Matt B. from South Boston, MA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in December, 2010 Although the interior was dated, the Sealodge E8 was a clean and affordable place to stay. (The furniture looked like it was pulled from the set of Golden Girls. The owners should upgrade the furtiture and fixtures to something more modern. The only real issue was that the lights/outlets in the bedroom weren't working.)Kaui was beautiful, but Princeville is so sterile I felt like i could have been in a retirementment community in FL or AZ. The only way you will see a local is if they are working on the property.
Marilyn C. from Anchorage, AK recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in September, 2010 Great cross breezes within the unit, terrific views, comfortable bed, and clean unit. We will look forward to staying here again.
Jamie N. from Warren, MI recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in September, 2010 Location was awesome! Beautiful backdrop, very peaceful. Very friendly people, guests and locals. Very clean and updated. I would defintely recommend to family and friends. Very affordable considering the area. Please keep it that way so people like myself can afford to enjoy your beautiful place.
A guest from Ravenna, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 13 days in August, 2010 This vacation rental in Princeville exceeded my expectations. Princeville, in my opinion, is the ONLY place to stay on the island, and SeaLodge is in one of the most ideal spots with both ocean and mountain views. The condos are kept in pristine condition and our unit was simple yet clean and functional. The view was tremendous--just how it looks in the pictures! I would recommend this unit in a heartbeat. Some things you should know:There is no air-conditioning, but the unit is kept fairly cool by the natural ocean breezes. There is very limited wireless internet connection in this unit. The Sealodge Beach involves a fairly treacherous hike, but it's worth it. If you're interested in easy beach access, several great beaches are a short drive north in Hanalei.
A guest from Laguna Niguel, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in July, 2010 Our view for the price we paid was AMAZING! I would sometimes just lie in bed and stare out the window at the vast Pacific Ocean. My ONLY complaint was that our specific rental wasn't as clean as it could be--the carpet hadn't been vacuumed (there were small pieces of lego toys, and food particles on the ground), and we did find a couple of ****-roaches on the counter the first night. No big deal to us; they never reappeared. Like I said, the view and location could cancel out anything bad about this place. We also loved having use of the beach chairs and extra beach towels in the closet.
Greg B. from Denver, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2010 Sea Lodge E8 was a perfect place to stay! Great location on the north shore, great view of the coast and Kiluaea Lighthouse. Wonderful beach just down the trail (a nice hike). Close to Hanalei and several beaches and sights on the north shore.
A guest from Veneta, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in April, 2010 I stayed w/a friend for 10 nights and we loved the location overlooking the reef. It was a good location for us in that our main interest was to explore beaches and the surrounding area. It was cooler than usual and windy as heck most of the 10 days. The unit was pretty clean on the surface, but lots of food crumbs in cupboards and on top of frig. We did a catch and release of 2 roaches. They had pretty good kitchen tools, except: a warped cutting board and a rusted can opener. Our only real problem w/the unit was the smell of mold. The exaust fan in the bathroom was clogged and not venting out. We left windows closed during our time away, as instructed, but the place had a very moldy smell to come home to.The units vary in decor and upgrade, so I would stay here again, just in another unit. We found our stay to be mostly pretty quiet, except for some construction in the unit above. We used the small pool once, but too windy to enjoy much of that. We were glad they had laundry on the property. Be sure and get the codes for the pool and laundry before you arrive, we had to ask around to get them. We were quite taken by the beautiful views. Be sure to check out the island farmers market schedule~they are well worth going to.
Property Manager Response: Response from Ahh Aloha Kauai Vacation Rentals We now have a new cleaning service for Sealodge E8, which has resolved the problems you note. Come back again, you'll enjoy the difference!
Caitlin W. from San Francisco, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in March, 2010 Great view. Great kitchen. Loved Princeville, very close to everything, yet secluded and quiet. Would love to go back.
