Pu'u Poa 403 is exceptional in every way. Jeff C. from East Orleans, MA recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in May, 2013 We rcently spent 8 nights vacationing and getting married in Princeville, Kauai and stayed at Pu'u Poa #403. We are from Cape Cod, ardent travellers and I'm a Realtor so we are no strangers to vacation property. From the moment we opened the very cool etched glass doors to our rental condo we enjoyed the most fulfilling, beautiful and hassle-free vacation experience of our lives. Our top floor unit (and top-floor is definitely the way to go) was, for eight nights, our dream home. The unit offers smashing ocean views from enormous windows and sliders and is spacious, airy, bright, superbly appointed, professionally and tastefully decorated, completely remodelled and pretty much exceeded our expectations at every turn. Tremendous master suite, great walk in shower, both the covered and open lanais are fantastic (covered lanai is handy as it rains pretty often in Princeville). The place was spotless and had every thoughtful amenity you could ever want in a vacation rental, from the very well appointed kitchen to the closet full of beach toys and brand new outdoor furniture. Hideaways Beach right below the unit is a "10" on the beach meter: gorgeous, reef-protected for safe swimming and lightly used. The pool area is nice and the grounds are lovely. In short we loved it, can't wait to return and simply have nothing negative to say about the place or our experience. |

Fantastic stay at Pu'u Poa 403! Jason P. from Seattle, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in April, 2013 We (two adults and two kids) spent 5 terrific days at Pu'u Poa 403. The condo was perfectly appointed and maintained. Furnishings were comfortable and tasteful, The appliances were high quality and look quite new. The deck furniture mentioned in other reviews has been replaced and are now very nice. The location is lovely. Pu'u Poa is at the end of the road to the St Regis hotel making it feel a lot more quiet and private then other parts of Princeville. Being able to walk to Hideways and snorkel instead of having to drive somewhere, park and walk was definite bonus, Finally, the grounds of Pu'u Poa are meticulously maintained. The onsite manager (I forget his name) does a terrific job keeping the place in excellent shape. He is also quite friendly and helpful and had good suggestions for area. All in all this was an excellent condo, inside and out, and exceeded all of out expectations. |

This unit has a sit up "barrel" bath which they call a "jacuzzi". Very unpractical thing for us. "Penthouse" is the same space and shape as other units. Next time I would stay first or second floor and look for cheaper deal without hot words like "penthouse" and "jacuzzi". |

The top floor was very private and provided a great view of the ocean. It was very tastefully designed and decorated. Enjoyed the electric grill on the lanai -- grilled ono and mahi mahi for dinner, yummm. The enclosed atrium was spacious and a good place to retreat when it rained. Nice little beach below (wear sneakers going down) and an easy to walk to beach next door by the St. Regis. The PuuPoa condos are a good location to start exploring the north coast. NaPali hikes were amazing. Highly recommend. |

Perfect if you will spend VERY little time actually in the condo. A guest from Palo Alto, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in November, 2012 Stunning views from this top floor condo. The rest is mediocre. The furnishings seem to have been purchased in the 70's and feel/look that way. Sparse, worn overall, leaving the living room with a somewhat empty feeling. Deck furniture is the very cheap, uncomfortable plastic chairs and the chaise lounges were both broken. Feels like this unit has had NO attention whatsoever for years and is able to keep renting because of location on top floor. Property Manager Response: Response from Ahh Aloha Kauai Vacation Rentals Metal rusts and wood rots, so the climate dictates plastic outdoor furniture. And one man's "sparse" is another man's "light and airy". |

Puu Poa is the perfect location, the unit was nice, although it needs a little attention. The toilets are old and don't flush well, need replaced with the low water usage ones. The chaise lounge chairs need fixed or replaced, some straps were broken and very uncomfortable to sit on. The screens need repaired, the patio door screen has tape at the bottom to keep bugs out, not a good look. Air conditioning would be nice too. |

It is so pretty , and being on the top floor is so worth it. The place is beautiful - nice kitchen, comfortable beds, good sized bathrooms. We loved everything about it, enjoyed relaxing on the spacious lanai and watching the waves and occasional outrigger canoes go by. I imagine this is a great spot during whale watching season. Wish we could have stayed longer!The second bedroom has two twin beds, perfect for a family but not the best for 2 couples (we were a family, so didn't bother us at all). Condo was furnished with everything we needed. Only minor complaint I have was that the dining chairs on the lanai were the cheap plastic kind you buy at Wal Mart. Would have expected better considering the rest of the unit, but maybe there was a reason for this.There are 3 great places to dine - the lanai, kitchen area and also a table looking out on the ocean (but protected from the occasional sprinkle that occurs on the north shore).Location is good - we enjoyed being close to Hanalei, Princeville golf and also liked Hideaways beach (right below the condo). That is one steep hill though!!This is a great place, will definitely stay here again next time I am in Kauai. |

Stayed for 7 days in May, 2011 To be ULTRA picky, the only sniggling detail was the fact we were told that there was no wireless. Because of this, we spent lots of brain cells looking for an ethernet cord, then finally deciding to only take one computer with us -which turned out to be challenging because we did have some work to do. When we arrived: Voila! Wireless! THAT would have been great to have known beforehand. But, again, that's being picky. We just love it there. Thanks for another great vacation.Oh! One more thing: For until 403, there was no information regarding clean up. In the other units, there was a sheet letting us know what was expected (wash sheets, etc.). For 403, there was no information provided. We cleaned as best we could, washed dishes and towels, but did not wash sheets. Again, small detail. Thank you. |

Even constant rain, a child's illness, and next-door remodeling couldn't stop us from LOVING this condo! Edward W. from Santa Monica, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in October, 2010 Okay, this was our first trip to Kauai, and as all other "firsts" in life, there's always great expectations. Unfortunately, mother nature didn't cooperate it. We landed during one of the rainiest times ever, plus our granddaughter got sick. We ended up visiting the docs and hospital in Lihue more than the beaches. In addition, the condo next door was undergoing major remodeling, so the sawing and hammering put a damper on the afternoon naps. Even so, the view was incredible and the spaciousness of the condo felt yummy. Also, Jeanie Riccardi was FABulous! We learned to trust her to book the right stuff. As a local with a big heart, she knows what she's talking about. Three suggestions to improve from a four- a five-star are: fix the small window screen in the kitchen; change the too-plump-foam pillows (we ended up buying more comfy ones at WalMart), and add some lighting to the deck (lanai). Would stay at any Ahh Vacation Rental spot again! Cathy and Sandy were so genuinely caring and concerned about our happiness! |

However, an attention to a few little details would have vastly improved the quality of our stay. For example, some sort of low, outdoor lighting on the lanai would have added atmosphere to that area AND prevented us from tripping on the shallow (invisible at night) stairs. A working stereo or CD player (or instructions for how to make the existing equipment work) would have also helped us create more of a festive ambiance. And someone should have thrown away the broken glassware that had just been placed back in the cupboard. That said, though, I'd go back in a heartbeat. |

The CD player was broken, the tub was broken would not hold water the fan was also broken in the same bathroom. The candles were completely burned down there were two lights out as well. The maintance man did replace the CD player. It is still a remarkable place to stay in Kauai. I am already planning my next trip back. |
