Patricia S. from Cambria, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in February, 2016 The condo is perfect for our family. We've finally figured out the microwave, and everything worked perfectly. Loved the new upgrades - furniture, fireplace with gas unit. Location is great. We'll rent it again!
Reviewed by: A guest recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in January, 2016 Very clean townhouse. The property is as described. Three spacious bedrooms with a large loft space. Great space for 3 couples or large family. Easy access to grocery stores, shops and ski resorts.
Joseph L. from Alameda, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in January, 2016 I booked the cabin for a family vacation and I am more than happy with my choice of picking the town house in Carnelian Bay. It was clean and the place was updated for the most part. The rest of my family loved the place as well.
Debbie C. from Concord, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in December, 2015 This was a perfect spot for us to celebrate with friends! We had 8 people comfortably stay in this home, with quick access to Squaw for skiing. The view on a snow weekend was breathtaking, and playing games in front of the warm fire was exactly what we needed. The kitchen had everything we needed, was roomy for us to cook together, and the closets for storing our skis kept everything organized. The property management was incredibly responsive and exceeded our expectations. I hope to return and highly recommend this rental to anyone!
David C. from Newark, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2015 Very pleased with the cleanliness and modernization of this unit. We have visited Carnelian Woods since the 70's and were pleasantly surprised to find the old charm combined with upgraded amenities. We will be returning next summer for a longer stay.
Jeanette P. from Chino Hills, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2015 Our Condo was beautiful! We enjoyed all that was offered to us and made our stay feel like home. Will recommend family and friends
Reviewed by: Karen B. recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in June, 2015 What a perfect spot for our family! We had three generations (grandparents, two kids (+partners) and two grandkids) all here and it was perfect. The kids took the loft (which did mean we all had to be quiet in the kitchen/living room at bedtime, but we kept them up late so it didn't affect too much), the grandparents and kids-free took the downstairs, and the parents took the room on the main floor. Everyone had their own space, but the common area was perfect for all coming together. The location had absolutely everything you could need - walk to the water (about five minutes), a few great eats in walking distance, mini-golf, pool, running trails. Plus, even though it's a townhouse, when you are sitting in the main room, you can't see a single other building - you feel like you are completely secluded in the forest. The townhouse also had everything we needed. Heads up: if you have little kids, the spacing on the rails/stairs could be a little tricky (we definitely had to drill into our four- and five-year-old not to stick their heads/body parts through), but it really wasn't an issue for us since they are big enough to listen! All in all - loved it! The grandparents made sure that I would save this spot so that we can go back!!
Marlon F. from Tracy, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2014 It looks like the bedsheets was never replaced, counter top was not clean and I felt like I had to clean the place when I got there.
Patricia S. from Cambria, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in March, 2011 The unit was perfect for our group of 8 and we will rent it for next year. Just a couple of things: When we got there all the silverware in the drawer was dirty so I hand washed everything, including dishes and pans, before using them. We discovered that the dishwasher soap dispenser was clogged and, after removing a solid soap cake, it worked perfectly. Seems housekeeping should have noticed this. Also the TV in the living room did not work, but we don't watch much TV anyway and the other TVs gave us the weather and news we needed. We had three cars and were only allowed two car passes. They allowed us to park one car in the lodge parking lot even though the unit parking lot was practically empty except for us.Were surprised that in a unit that accomodates 10 people for 4 days we were only provided with 2 rolls of toilet paper. Again, not an issue as we just purchased additional, but was just a small inconvenience. Other than these things, we had a wonderful time and loved the unit. Kitchen was spacious and open, which we liked.
Tanya M. from Rancho Santa Margarita, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in January, 2011 I would have given this rental 5 stars in every category, however upon arriving we discovered the dish washer was broken. We had to call for maintenance. Also no dish towels were provided so we had to call for those as well. The nice part was someone was sent out right away for repairs and to send dish towels.
Kevin J. from Dixon, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in December, 2010 The owners BOOK on the table for comments, from the person who left the morning before we left, talks about "FLEAS" and the bed sheets not being changed, we found no such problem. We were very satisfied. We have only 1 request. In the DVD Player, my 7-year old son left a Christmas Present, the DVD "Despicable Me". May I request that you "knock on the door" with the current people and ask for this DVD. We would be happy to reimburse you office for postage. Please confirm found and send regular mail. Thanks so much!Kevin Johnson Cell
A guest from La Canada, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in August, 2010 Great layout and easy for our family. Nice remodel! Couch was in bad shape - hard to sit because all of the cushions were pulling off.
A guest from Wayne, PA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2010 We enjoyed our stay at Carnellian Woods and the space in the unit was fine. The kitchen had been redone recently and was well equipped. However there were some problems which need to be addressed by the owner.1) The carpet was very dirty. There were black stains on three of the stairs we saw immediately when entering the unit and the whole living room rug needed cleaning.2)The dishwasher seemed to run but made no washing sounds during the cycle and the dishes were consistently dirty when we took them out of the dishwasher. We often had to wash the dishes again by hand before eating. On the last morning we had nine people to get out of the house by 10:00. We put the dishes away from the dish washer and hand washed breakfast dishes since no dish was to be left in the dishwasher. We did not have time to rewash dishes from the dishwasher. First Accommodation complained and want to charge us $60 for dish washing.3) Twice on our stay the toilets would not flush. We corrected the problem using the plunger which fortunately was available.4) The lockbox worked fine except that the little black tab that hold it in the box fell out twice. We were able to replace it and it worked. A third time it fell out and we were unable to locate the tab as we had done before. We reported this to the management before leaving. The management was helpful and pleasant when we had questions or problems to solve and the pool and hot tubs were enjoyed by our group.
Property Manager Response: Response from First Accommodations Unfortunately the stains were caused by these renters and the dishwasher works fine, as we tested it. The toilets would flush but were overloaded by the renters, which clogged them. The lockbox was working until the renters returned the keys 6 hours after their departure time.
Seth S. from Sunnyvale, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in March, 2010 My alumnni group has stayed in this complex a number of times over the years on ski trips, and once again, everything was great.Only minor complaint is the parking pass hassle ... especially as we were about the only cars there that weekend.
