Resort: Small, family friendly resort directly by the sea, 30 km west from Plymouth, 60 km east from Newquay, 80 km south-west from Exeter. All shops, restaurants etc. in the resort. Access: motorway A38 Exeter - Plymouth. Then road A387 Plymouth - Looe. Railway station "Liskeard" 13 km. Harbour Plymouth 30 km. Car ferry Plymouth / Roscoff - Plymouth / Santander 30 km. For arrivals by plane: airport Exeter (EXT) 80 km. The town developed around a former fishing and smuggling port. With its narrow streets, the town is traditional and has a nice atmosphere. It is also a major centre for shark fishing. Attractions: The Monkey Sanctuary, home to a colony of Amazon wooly monkeys, to the east of Looe, East Cornwall Discovery Centre with photographic, video exhibitions on marine life and countryside with local crafts and guide books for sale.
