A guest from Round Rock, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2016 We enjoyed staying here with our friends for the weekend. We did have any problems with kitchen utensils like other reviews mentioned. This unit is next to the pool, short walk to the beach and overall cozy condo!
A guest from Austin, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2015 This rental is fine. The location is great but the kitchen is cheaply stocked and the it needs a new rug because the currently one slips and you can easily trip on it. The grounds need a bit of upkeep but if you are looking for the basics this has it. Close walk to the beach and a clean place to stay.
A guest from San Antonio, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2015 We really enjoyed our stay at Beachhead! This is our second summer staying here and we plan to come again next year.
A guest from Coppell, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2015 The condo was very cute. It has been updated and had very comfortable beds which was a plus. Kitchen was adequate but we didn't cook much. Just had breakfast and lunch at the condo. My two dings would be one.....the shower in the second bathroom did not drain well so we all took showers in master. Also the couch Which was white had many stains. They also could use a DVD player. Not bad for price and a quick getaway.
Kathy W. from Longview, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2015 The condo was super clean. If you plan on cutting up any food, take a sharp knife; otherwise, the kitchen was well equipped. The beds were a little rickety but comfortable. The boardwalk to the beach was handy. We plan on returning in the future!
Theresa S. from Kyle, Texas recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2015 Perfect for our family! Within walking distance to the beach. Property was great! Just as described online. No complaints.Greta family getaway to destress and unwind! Thank you!
M.S. S. from Frisco, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in March, 2015 This was my first time staying in a condo. It was great. The condo was very conveniently located and furnished with everything we needed.
Reviewed by: Adelita N. recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in February, 2015 Me and my girlfriends loved it! We working mommy's never get a chance to have just us time to relax and escape the daily work and chaos of life! Thank you so much! It wasn't long enough!
Lauren J. from Katy, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2014 We had a great stay! The furniture was a bit worn, but the condo was very clean and you can't beat the September special at $99 per night! As always the staff at Port Aransas Escapes was very nice and helpful. We will be doing business with them again and again!
Laurie M. from New Braunfels, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2014 We were pleasantly surprised to know that they had done major renovations to the outside of their property. Since this is an older condo complex. Didn't know what to expect but we were very happy with the grounds and pool area. The condo that we stayed in was newly renovated also so it was nice but they still need to work on a few minor things and update the furniture. Overall we were happy with our stay.
A guest from Austin, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2014 The rental was very clean and had plenty of room for our family of 4. The television was a little outdated with the sides of the screen having a greenish tinge. It didn't bother us much - we had a good laugh about Food TV's Alton Brown's green face. The tub and sink in the master bath were slow to drain but again, not too much of a problem. Great access to the beach and very convenient shower/rinse-off location on the boardwalk to rinse off before entering the condo. The pool was clean, well-maintained and had a great view!
Reviewed by: connie o. recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2014 The beds were very comfortable. The a/c was great! The location to the beach was very nice. I took 2 granddaughters and we loved the "3" twins in one room.
Gina D. from San Antonio, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2014 Our stay at these condos was just amazing and the place was so clean, great location and we had an absolutely wonderful time:)
This Suite was ok, we did liked our last one better.
Daren O. from Little Elm, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2013 Overall we are satisfied with the management company and the property and it's location. Our last experience the roomed was a little nicer and had a better view, plus it had all of the kitchen utensils.
Property Manager Response: Response from Port Aransas Escapes Thank you for your review! We hope to see you back at Beachhead.
A guest from Round Rock, TX does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in November, 2013 We booked this condo to celebrate our wedding anniversary. While the property's location was just perfect, there were a bunch of little things that completely ruined the experience for us.1. The keys to the property that we picked up from management company's office didn't work. Imagine trying to open the door with keys that don't work in freezing wind and rain after a long drive from home! The onsite contact person used her master key to let us in, and the management company folks refused to come over and give us the right keys to us. We were told to wait until following morning to go pick them up from the office again!2. The central heater in the unit didn't work. Again, it was freezing cold outside and no heater inside. No fun.3. We were told by management office staff that the kitchen would be fully furnished. But there was no salt/pepper/cooking oil. Had to make do without them.4. The furniture in the home (beds/sofa etc.) are really really old and make a lot of squeaky noise. Pretty linen can only cover up so much!Given the perfect location, our vacation could have been so much more enjoyable, but I'm disappointed it was messed up by these little things.
Paula Ann H. from SouthLake, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2013 Celebrated my brother,s 60 th birthday with a 3 day stay in Port Aransas. Our condo was perfect in decor and location, We ate some terrific seafood, found beautiful shells, bird watched and wave jumped. Folks and the weather were friendly. Walked the beach at dawn and dusk. Plan a return trip. My brother sister in law and husband also gave the experience a thumbs up. Only problem ! The door key required hooduin lock skills. At one point we thought we would be spending the night on the porch. My hubby built apartments and finally was able to give it the right jiggle. I geat a blue ribbon as a sister!
A guest from Manchaca, TX does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2013 The condo smelled like some kind of chemical the entire stay. We assummed that it was bug spray. We did not see any bugs and that was a good thing!! :-) There was no hangers in the closets and there was only 1 television. We really liked the wall decor and the colors in the unit. The beds were comfortable. I think it was worth the price of the Groupon, but would have been extremely over priced if we had to pay the full rate.
A guest from Austin, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2013 The condo was lovely and the view of the beach was great. Getting our key after the office was closed wasn't very easy. I was given a code when I called the office but they never told me it was three distinct numbers. So, I had no idea how to open the locked box in order to get my key. Once I got the keys, the lock on the condo wouldn't open, it was stuck. It took a good while to open it. At this point my partner and I were completely frustrated. So it wasn't the best start to our vacation. (they need to fix the lock, seriously) Once we got into the condo I felt a lot better. It was clean and relaxing. I'll probably stay here again because of the view and the price. And, because I know the trick to opening the door now.
Thomas P. from Spring, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2013 We had a wonderful time @ Port A. The condo was perfect! I loved the layout and the cheerfulness of the bright colors. The beds were so comfy!! The pool was so clean and refreshing! Wish I was there now!!
A guest from Harper, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2013 great property with easy access to the beach. would have liked to have a broom and dust pan to sweep the sand...even though we washed off at the shower we still managed to bring quite a bit back with us.
Abel P. from San Antonio, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in March, 2013 I loved the location. However, the plumbing seemed to be an issue. the kitchen sink and dishwasher were acting up and water started accumulating on the floor. We were told the maintenance man would address it but we still saw water and the towel was still on the floor wet. Other than this, I like the place a lot
A guest from Alpena, MI recommends this property. Stayed for 60 days in January, 2013 We were pleased with our condo unit and especially the location. Walking the beach and riding our bikes around town was enjoyable. We had a little frustration with the slow wifi, but it wouldn't keep us from returning.
A guest from Copperas Cove, TX. recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in November, 2012 We enjoyed our stay overall. Just a few suggestions though: the pots and pans were scary to use (most were old and rusty. Might help to list the amenities you provide also. The instructions for trash pick up weren't clear so we had no idea when/where trash would be picked up. The A/C was very loud. We love the proximity to the beach. We enjoyed our stay though and plan to come back.
A guest from Cedar Park, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2012 You can only see the dunes from the balcony and the kitchen could have been stocked better. Bring coffee filters, utensils, serving dishes if you plan on cooking. We had trouble with wifi and the smell from their cleaners/detergent on sheets was somewhat overpowering. Other than that, really cute condo.
Mary B. from Midland, Texas recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2012 My husband and toddler stayed at Turtle Bay 104BH this past weekend. We liked the condo; you could tell it was old and had been renovated, but the renovations were done well. Best thing about the condo is location - you can take a boardwalk directly to the beach in less than 3 minutes' walk. Property was quiet and maintained pretty well. It's not the Four Seasons, but it's perfectly adequate for a beachside stay. I would stay there again.
Kimberly G. from Ft Worth, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2012 Clean inside condo but property grounds not the best. Needs updating, better landscaping. Tennis courts in disarray, but so what if you don't care about tennis. Pool was nice. Boardwalk was nice. Access to beach was nice. Unit was updated but seemed pricey for the age and competition in the area.
Overall, very nice condo, however, the DVD player did not work
Sandy H. from Victoria, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2012 Perfect location close to pool and playground. We had toddlers in our group and enjoyed the convenience of having pool and playground close. The condo balcony was a great outside safe escape for the toddlers and adults enjoyed the relaxing view.
John M. from FT Worth, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2012 We were told by the management that we should have brought our own soap and toilet paper??? Since when do you have to bring soap and toilet paper when you are going there for a 3 night stay? If you are renting for a month I can understand, but not for 2 or 3 nights.
A guest from Austin, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2011 We had a great time staying in Port A! This particular property was great! The new play scape was great since it kept our kids busy for a long time. We were wanting to watch our favorite College team play Saturday afternoon and were able to do so in the community center while the rest of our party swam in the pool. The grounds crew were very helpful and very polite. I would definitely return to this property.
Gregg M. from Austin, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2011 We stayed at 104BH for a long weekend. My wife, our two kids and Grammy found the condo in great shape. The three beds in the guest room worked great for the kids and Grammy. The pool and play scape were the perfect addition to having the beach nearby. The weather was okay. A strong offshore wind brought a roaring surf and a beach covered with seaweed. We still managed to enjoy the beach, but the seaweed was a challenge. Surf fishing was fun, a fish on almost every cast using shrimp, but nothing of any size. The condo was very nice. Our biggest complaint was no coffee filters, but we left the remainder of what we picked up in town.
A guest from Waco, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2010 Our only objection was after arriving at Beachhead ( 7 hour drive) we had to get back in the car & go to another location to get the key & check in. Then on checking out we had to again drive to another location to return key. This was MOST inconvenient, it sure seems as if this could be done at Beachhead as had been done in the past. Our condo was spotless and had just been completely redecorated. Pool area was also spotless & everyone we met around pool most friendly. Would definitely recommend but would suggest guest understand fully the checking in process and make sure their condo has been redecorated, as the units are getting some age on them. We have been staying at Beachhead since they were brand new many years ago & have always been pleased.
A guest from Georgetown, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2010 The condo was fine. The location was good and very close to where our other family members were staying. I did have a couple of problems that I shared with the manager at the Beachhead. The oven didn't come on. One of the blinds in the living room was pulled up when we arrived, and I could not get it to come down. The most serious problem was that the tile floor was dangerously slick even when dry. I was told that that was the new floor the owners had just installed. I suggest that they down some rugs for safety.
