Great place to stay on the North side
Joel B. from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2016 Me and my wife actually liked this place more than I thought we would. The condo was well stocked with cookware and other stuff to make our time there accommodating.Having a washer and dryer in unit was a nice touch as well. Would stay there again.
A guest from Lyons, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in December, 2015 We had a great stay at Sealodge D1. It had everything we needed and was close to everything we wanted to see and do. Even in the rainy season, the location and views were incredible. Hideaways beach was a great place to snorkel and access to the St Regis, so close by, was great. Really enjoyed waking up every morning to the view of the ocean
A guest from Arvada, CO does not recommend this property. Stayed for 12 days in December, 2015 Hello, D1 was a great location as far as ocean view and scenery. The apartments furniture was quite nice. Also, the kitchen was well stocked. There were a few items that we were disappointed in. The beach access was very miss leading in that the path down to the water was very treacherous and virtually un-available. The bedding was old and worn out and the pillows were very worn out. The owners have a plastic mattress pad on the bed that is not comfortable at all. Makes you sweat. Truly, the bedding/pillows smelled bad. We used the bar-b-q area and thought it was nice, however, there is no lighting in the area and in the winter if you don't grill by 5:00PM it is to dark to grill.
Marv A. from Mission Viejo, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in December, 2015 We rented this Princeville condo hoping it would provide a quiet five days/nights. It is billed as being an "end unit" with no shared walls, which is what attracted me to it. As it turned out, this description is absolutely correct. It was the quietest condo I have ever experienced anywhere. We loved it. The beach below the cliff is not safely accessible, but there are abundant beaches within easy driving distance. The amenities (kitchen supplies, microwave, television, showers) are all superb, and plentiful parking is only a few feet away. We strongly recommend it.
A guest from Ketchum, ID recommends this property. Stayed for 11 days in November, 2015 Wonderful. The place was clean, comfortable and quiet with an amazing view. The unit was well equipped and everything functioned well. Great to have a washer & dryer. It was especially helpful to have their Hawaiian/Kauai library at hand, with the information gathered from it our stay was enhanced.
Ariane S. from Jacksonville, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in October, 2015 We enjoyed our stay at the unit. Along with my husband and myself, we had our friend and her mother staying upstairs in the loft area that provided two additional beds. The stay was comfortable, and the place was clean. The view outside was beautiful and we had great weather for the most part. Luckily, we were leaving as construction was beginning in the unit (I believe to update the outside shingles). We saw the construction beginning outside which was starting to block our view of the ocean. We cannot complain about it as we were set to leave, but this is definitely something future renters should ask before booking to make sure no construction to set around the unit that might obstruct your views. Thanks for the great stay!
A guest from Junction City, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in September, 2015 Walking into this cottage feel rental was beautiful. It seemed like it had not been rented for a while due to a musky smell. We had a very difficult having hot water. To be fair we did not call for help. We were also very disappointed that the wifi was not working. It appeared I could have called to have it hooked up for a fee. I should have read the little print.
A guest from Granite Bay, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 11 days in September, 2015 We had a great time in Kauai despite the rain. We had alot of rain due to multiple tropical storms passing by. The unit was very nice and clean. The only negative was the water equipment was in poor shape.
barbara l. from redondo, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2015 Reakky enjoyed my stay at Sealodge D1. Best part- the view! Right on a bluff with spectacular sunset views. Inside was perfectly comfortalbe and the kitchen was well equipped. Would defintiely stay there again
Murray M. from Ottawa, Ontario recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in February, 2015 We liked the area very much. The resorts are well hiddened so we felt like we were at home. Our view was suberb. And no stairs to climb! Our unit well stocked with cooking utensils. And lots of cozy decorations. The patio screen needs some maintenance! And maybe more attention to dusting (ie. blinds in bathroom). We would rent again if we came back to Kauai. Some attractions are on the other end of the island (helicopter, and boat excursions). Including Gaylords (our best eating experience). So plan accordingly. Relaxing is far more fun than driving!
Kim K. from Kilauea, HI recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in February, 2015 Such a nice spot with all the comforts of home! Views from all the windows & doors of the ocean! Love being on the ground floor!
A guest from Ozark, MO recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in February, 2015 Roomy and comfortable all plus'! Clean too. Better than previous units we had stayed in. View obviously good. Only complaint was beds being too soft.
John M. from Brownburg, IN recommends this property. Stayed for 21 days in January, 2015 We spent 3 wonderful weeks at Sealodge D-1. It was my 7th consecutive year staying from 3 to 5 weeks each winter at Sealodge. We love it and would not consider changing location. The view is spectacular and the value is unbeatable. Thank you Ahh Aloha for the great customer service. Well Done.
A guest from SPRING, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 15 days in December, 2014 The unit was very nicely decorated and equipped. One negative we had, the second bedroom - there was no mention of it being upstairs. We had brought someone who walked with a cane and had limited walking strength. Also, new guests do need to check for damages especially on bath towels, etc. We found "bleach" or "faded" areas on bath towels and washcloths. (Only mentioned due to possible damage charges later.)The view was absolutely as advertised and very beautiful. This is a very quiet and well landscaped resort. We would give our unit 5 Gold Stars!!!!!!Highly recommended.
A guest from Vancouver, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in August, 2014 This was our 5th family visit to Kauai. First time staying at Sealodge, and first time staying on the North Shore. We typically stay in Kapaa. Admittedly, I was nervous about management location being in Texas, but it all checked out and is legit. I was also concerned about other reviews noting wear on exterior giving a dated feeling. I actually loved the beachy feel of the condo exterior. Overall, I have positives to report for our 5 day stay. Great price, excellent location for going to the North Shore beaches, very well equipped (best I've seen in comparison to all the other condos we have stayed at on the island). Nice to have a washer & dryer right in the unit. LOVED the convenience of keyless entry! We are a family of four. My two daughters had the upstairs room, we had the master downstairs. The interior had a beachy feel that may be rustic for some folks who prefer fancy resorts, but this condo felt like a comfy home. It was comfortable and pleasant. The furniture was what I would want for an island feel, although I have heard of other guests describing this type of furniture as "Golden Girlish". Not a bother for us. I have leather sofas at home. I don't need them for my vacation. Great views, although I couldn't help but notice a few of the other units might have had even better views (such as those that faced North - this one faced North East). There was virtually no neighbor noise as this one does not share any condo walls. The only area for improvement was the mini blinds. They bent easily. At night the wind would cause the blinds to make noise if you left the windows open and kept blinds down. There were hooks installed at the sills to assist with this problem, but it wasn't a fool proof fix. Our family was glad to have stayed at Sealodge D1.
Cynthia G. from Bandon, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2014 The views from the condo were beautiful. Just like the picture and more. We enjoyed going out on the lawn with the neighbors to watch the sunset each night. The condo is very comfortable. It was perfect for us. Each of our sons had his own bed and they had their own bathroom and TV upstairs!
Richard K. from Moneta, VA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in May, 2014 Our five night stay on Kuaui followed five night stays on the Big Island and on Maui. We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay at Sealodge. The location, the view from the lanai, the accommodations themselves were all great. It was a perfect way to wrap up our Hawaii vacation.
Leota H. from Kennewick, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 11 days in April, 2014 We picked the Sea Lodge condo without really knowing much about it except the location looked good for what we wanted to do. We were very pleasantly surprised. The condo was older but very well maintained. the view was great. the design of the condo to allow flow through ventilation with the ocean breeze was wonderful. The unit was cozy and comfortable. The kitchen was furnished well enough for me to cook many of our meals so we could enjoy them on the lanai. The one small problem we had during our stay was addressed quickly with no hassle. having the in unit washer and drier was really great to keep all out hiking and swimming gear cleaned up and ready for another day. It was a great, relaxing stay in Kauai.
Richard M. from Baker City, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in April, 2014 This condo was very clean, well stocked and located in a quiet deadend street. Could not ask for anything more. even the roosters stayed uphill from us so it was wonderful. it can use a little inside paint and loving care but other than that it was perfect.
John M. from Brownburg, IN recommends this property. Stayed for 34 days in February, 2014 I have come to request this unit for the past four years. I've been able to stay there for a month three different times. I have been very pleased with Ahh Aloha providing my requests for the past six years. I couldn't be more satisfied.
Tisha F. from Cranbrook, BC recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in February, 2014 We stayed in Sealodge D1 from Feb 3 - 12/14 and loved every minute of it. The condo is exactly as the pictures show. It was very clean and well stocked with all the necessary items for the beach and all the comforts of home for relaxing after a day touring around the island. The views from all windows were breath taking and we were able to watch the whales every day. It was unusually rainy during our entire stay but we made the best of it by chasing the sun around the island. We hope to return some day to Princeville and would definately choose Sealodge D1 as our home away from home again.
A guest from New York, NY does not recommend this property. Stayed for 12 days in November, 2013 This property is quite dated, and has no AC. This is not prominent in the description. Not bad in Winter, but probably an oven in the summer. While the unit was clean, the grill area was filthy, strewn with trash and garbage, and the grate looked like it hand't been cleaned in years. Another guest and I cleaned the area up so that we could enjoy it. They also have a "rules" sheet that asks the windows remain closed when you go out due to sudden rain - a great idea, except whoever cleaned the unit last left the kitchen window open, and when we arrived, we spent the first two hours in the unit cleaning up from a rain storm. These units are also VERY close together. With no AC, the windows need to be open, but be sure you're fully dressed at all times. The lawn maintenance guy was getting his eyes full as my S/O was getting dressed. You can also literally hear the neighbors of one of them has a rough ride on the thunder jug.Location is good, close to the great N. Shore beaches and Anini and Anahole Park. Trail to private beach is easy for most people, and it's a beautiful little beach. If you snorkel, go at high tide. If you;re an advanced snorkeler, you can get through the reef by picking your way along the right side, to the shallowest part, then angle to the left about 45 degrees, and get on the back side. There are turtles there, which means no sharks, and lots of beautiful fish. NOTE the DVD player is too old to handle newer DVDs, so don't plan on taking movies unless they're old.
A guest from Austin, Texas recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2013 Not really on a beach, but the beaches are always close in Kauai. The view from the property was amazing though. Also there is this small hike you can go on to where you find a nice little secluded beach - that was GREAT. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend!
Alain B. from Dollard Des Ormeaux, QC recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2013 Great location and view overlooking bluff, the cliff and a litehouse. The condo is a little dated, but clean. Eveything works and the owner has beach toweks, snorkels, and beach chairs available.
A guest from New York, NY recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in May, 2013 I highly recommend rental property "Sealodge D-1" to anyone looking for some peace, quiet and relaxation on the north shore of Kauai, in Princeville. Accommodations in this unit were terrific. Everything was clean, very tidy and wonderful views of the Ocean and distant Namolokama Mountains surrounded the living space of this unit. Anyone thinking of staying here would be smart and glad they did!
Bruno O. from Outremont, Quebec recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2013 Very nice unit. Only place we had diner one evening on a 17 days trip to Ohau, Hawai'i and Kauai'i - it felt like home. The lana'i drains towards the house and was damp every morning which forbade us to have breakfast there as we would have liked; otherwise, the view to the two coconut trees, the ocean and the jumping humpback whales was real nice.First time we encountered such a lengthy rental agreement process. A little scary at first.
Sandra M. from Franklin, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in April, 2013 Delightful condo with a spectacular view on the North Shore in Princeville. Patio had a view of the lighthouse and a great spot to watch for whales. Convenient to all of the north shore beaches and many great restaurants. Beach chairs, cooler and snorkeling equipment were supplied which made enjoying the ocean very easy. Will hope to return in the future.
A guest from Camp Hill, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in December, 2012 From making the reservation to actually staying on location, we had a very good experience on Kauai! The unit was perfect for our family - clean and had everything we needed. Our only complaint - don't stay on the North Shore in the Winter! Always rainy - we drove to the south of the island to get sun.
Odile F. from Lac Superieur, Que. recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in November, 2012 Very good. We loved this condo and found it very well decorated. It is the reason we have been retourning for our second time. We love the decoration, the emplacemnt and the tranquility of the area. The place was very clean, and the beds very comfy. The process pf reservation was simple, easy and we were feeling in confidence. No complaints, only a recommendation beach chair ok and miss an umbrella. Hope we retirn some day!
A guest from Fayetteville, AR recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in November, 2012 Unbelievable location--on the bluff and can walk down to a private beach, mountains in the background. Nice place--snorkel set was a bonus. This wasn't a problem for us but there isn't a/c, so it was a bit stuffy during the days if we didn't leave screen door open, etc. Nighttimes were fine.
A guest from Scottsdale, AZ recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2012 Great location and amenities. Staff was very helpful and allowed a late check out as our flight was later in the day.
Eric A. from Front Royal, Virginia recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2012 was great, I suggest to install higher toilet or at least seat, grab bars and hand held shower nozzle in bathroom for handicapped. Could stand better mattress.
John M. from Avon, IN recommends this property. Stayed for 33 days in January, 2012 Of all our travels, Sealodge and unit D-1 has the most spectacular views of any.We specfically requested D-1 after staying there in 2010. What a magnicent place to enjoy the Paridise of the North Shore of Kauai.
Thomas L G. from Pacifica, California recommends this property. Stayed for 18 days in December, 2011 Very nice unit with a fabulous view of the ocean. Nicely furnished and almost all by it's self. Totally enjoyable. Would stay again.
A guest from Bern, CH recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2011 Nice location in a well build vacation complex. There is nothing you will miss in terms of kitchen and bath. Need a car to go where ever you want to.
Elena M. from Palo Alto, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in August, 2011 We spent 9 days in Kauai and Sealodge D1 was just the perfect place to stay. It is close to several beautiful beaches and cute towns like Hanini and Kapa'a. The view on the ocean is amazing and we enjoyed every single sunrise and sunset from the D1 apt. We had great time and we will certainly come back!
A guest from Nanaimo, BC recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in July, 2011 My husband, and our 2 sons ages 22 and 25 had a fantastic trip...THe locatin is perfect, and the accomadaion with the terrific view was wonderful..We havestayed in m any properties during our travels and I must say that this unit had all the kitchen appliances, utensils, towels coolers etc that you could need..They even had snorkeling gear...Defintiley would return, as we alll had a spectacular trip!!
Jason B. from Nashville, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 20 days in June, 2011 This property is such a great value. Can't beat the views. For me, it's perfect. The unit included EVERYTHING I could possibly need in a home away from home.
jennifer t. from ferndale, washington recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in February, 2011 i loved the low key aspect of the sealodge facility and the wonderful cliff views. we were visiting during thetsunami and felt so safe watching the waves roll in from 120 feet above sea level. we will be back the next time we stay in princeville.
A guest from Hermiston, Oregon recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in February, 2011 This is the second year we have stayed in the same unit and it just gets better. You can't beat the whale watching and short walk to the almost private beach. We love it.
Laurie G. from Waukegan, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in June, 2010 Our family prefers Sealodge when we stay in Kauai. D1 was quite nice, good views, privacy, close to pool. short walk to the " secret cove" beach which is very nice. we bought and left 2 beach chairs as the short sand chairs were too hard for my mom to use, but otherwise had most everything we needed. we would stay here again. the owners left us a little welcome surprise which was fun and we liked the guest book with their pictures .
Kelly D. from Syracuse, NY recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in February, 2010 When we first arrived in J4 we were unhappy with the room only because it was a one bedroom but the next morning we were easily switched to a much nicer room in D1. The room had everything we needed right down to beach towels and snorkling gear. The view was breath taking and the whales put on a nice show too. It was a bit too windy for me but it was the begining of march so maybe it would have been better in the summer months. I would stay was a magical experience and close to stores and beaches. We were very satisfied with our stay!
