A guest from Orleans, VT recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in April, 2016 The unit was very clean and comfortable. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. On the negative side, there wasn't any gas in the grill tank, batteries in some of the remote controls were dead with no extras to be found and poor lighting in the living room. However, the pluses far outweigh the few negative things and I would stay here again.
Jerry B. from Lancaster, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in February, 2016 Once again (4th time)we enjopyed our stay at 2101 in the Ali'i Kai. Noth swells were highest since 1969 and could be seen nicely from the cliff edge. Albatross were frequent along the cliff edge. The unit was in great shape as usual. HArd to leave. MAHALO
alison b. from baulkham hills, New South Wales recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in June, 2015 Beautiful condo, had everything you could possibly want and more. Shops and restaurants a short drive away. Brilliantly situated for exploring the island. Easy to communicate & deal with. thank you
A guest from Denver, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in May, 2015 We had a very good experience in Alii Kai 2101. The condo was clean, well-equipped, and well-located in Princeville. We used the in-house snorkel gear to see some fish at Tunnels Beach and appreciated having beach towels available on site. Margie, the house keeper, also allowed us to check out a few hours late on our departure date. Much appreciated. Very nice stay.
Joe J. from Nishinomiya-shi, Hyogo recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in March, 2015 Kauai, the garden isle, is always a peaceful beautiful place to visit. Princeville is a kind of artificial community of tourist-catering condominiums. However, our unit was ideal, quiet, and was supplied with all the amenities. There was plenty of space and parking was just in front.
Colleen L. from Saginaw, Michigan, US recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in January, 2015 Rental was fantastic, photos don't do it justice. Loved being able to use the boogie boards/chairs/towels. Location is terrific, I would highly recommend this rental!
Debbie K. from Santa Ana, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in January, 2014 Our overall experience was great. There were no problems getting into the unit and were pleased to see the special touches to welcome us like orchid blossoms placed in the bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchen. The size and price for the unit was perfect. The beds were surprisingly comfortable. The North Shore location is beautiful. It was our first time to Kauai and we spent a lot of time on the north shore. It seemed like a long drive to the south shore area, but well worth the drive to see Waimea Canyon and the beautiful sunset. Hanalei is very close and such a fun, laid-back town. We ate there several times and paddleboarded on the Hanalei River. I loved seeing the ne-nes right there in Princeville. I've been to other islands in Hawaii, but never saw the state bird until this trip. Thanks for a stress-free experience!
Michael C. from La Mirada, CALIFORNIA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2013 The condo was spacious, clean, and beautiful! We had a great stay there. The location was great for sight-seeing on the North Shore.
Lisa D. from Mililani, HI recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in August, 2012 Every thing was wonderful with this condo except the screens were very dirty (esp master bath window screen) and the noisy upstairs neighbors; we could hear every footstep. Another neighbor drill and sawing at 11pm.
jessica k. from kapolei, HI recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2012 We absolutely loved our mini vacation! We flew over for a 4 day weekender for our daughter's birthday and it exceeded our expectation! I normally would book a hotel but decided to try vacation rental and came across this website featuring these last minute glad I did! It was like "home away from home" but better. The condo had everything we needed; utensils, spices, towels, linens, beach gear; all we needed were groceries for our stay. I was surprised at how quiet it was during our entire stay, it was as if we were the only ones there. The only problem was the rude interruption from the guests above our unit complaining about the humming sound coming from our master bedroom fan which hopefully got fixed after we left. But other than that, our stay was perfect! We are already planning our next mini vacation and would love to stay at this condo again - MUCH MAHALO!!!
Property Manager Response: Response from Ahh Aloha Kauai Vacation Rentals Yes, the fan was most definitely fixed! It actually had to be replaced. The humming didn't sound bad in Alii Kai 2101, but from upstairs it was like a jet taking off :-( So new fan, no more problems.
Regina M. from Fairfield, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 11 days in August, 2012 Overall experience was fine. We liked the location to Foodland and Hanalei Bay. We were told we would be walking distance to three beaches. But we found that wasn't the case. We enjoyed the pool and grounds were beautiful. The rental itself was fine. We found we needed to purchase some things for the kitchen and wished there were supplies for the grill. We found the beach chairs and umbrellas after we purchased and rented a couple. I think a general welcome letter which includes up to date information for supplies and emergencies would be helpful. Also, bicycles would be a great for quick trips to the store or ride to ocean view. We appreciated all the amenities provided. Thank you for a nice place to stay.
Property Manager Response: Response from Ahh Aloha Kauai Vacation Rentals Hideaways Beach, Sealodge Beach, and Queen's Bath are all within a reasonable walking distance, under 15 min. (Queen's Bath is actually much closer than that.)
Sylvain C. from Gradignan, Gironde recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2012 All was ok except the welcome at property ALi Kai 1 ! there was no indication, the reception phone in the outside box at Alii Kai 1 did not work! Also i never got an email to give me the door opening code. It took me over 3 hours to obtain the code from the Texas based agent ! They first gave m a wrong code, th I i had to wait another 2 hours to connect wit them and to obtain the correct code ! I lost significant time upon arrival after a long flight with my family. I ask to be compensated with one day rental for this unacceptable ommission. If the on-site mgr of Ali kai 2 - who by the way was kind enough to help me out even though he is NOT in charge of ALi Kai 1 - had not been there, I would NOT have been able to enter the condo !
Property Manager Response: Response from Ahh Aloha Kauai Vacation Rentals How inconvenient :-( That is why we REPEATEDLY tell our guests not to go to Kauai without their check-in instructions. Usually not having check-in instructions is the result of failing to return the completed rental agreement. It's unfortunate the guests had to be inconvenienced when the problem could have been avoided by returning the rental agreement as requested, and phoning us before hand as instructed when they did not have check-in instructions as departure neared.
Valentine L. from Bakersfield, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2012 A very nice condo,2 big bedrooms with full kitchen, located in a quiet place, with a ocean view; the place is magnific, very relaxing...I would love to go back anytime soon
Deborah K. from Comptche, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in April, 2012 My 12 year old grandson and I loved our experience at Alii Kai. The only thing I would have like would be a few more spices. We only had salt and pepper with no refill. It could have had tea, mayo, sugar or honey, foil, etc. It is difficult to buy these items just for one week. We loved the birds that came up to us on the lanai and the peacefulness of the complex. We loved the pool.
A guest from Burien, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in March, 2012 I had an incredible trip to Kauai with two companions, and our stay at the Alii Kai condo was perfect. We had everything we needed, and checking in and out was easier than any other rental I've ever had. Thanks so much to the owner and company for making our stay fantastic, and money well spent.
Nathan L. from Ossian, IN recommends this property. Stayed for 15 days in February, 2012 We were very happy with our stay. We've stayed in that same building before and will stay there again. Thanks for a great trip.
Rob B. from Santa Cruz, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in December, 2011 relatively quiet spot, although a neighbor across the way, let their barking dogs outside starting at 7AM every morning. unit was clean and beds were super comfortable. picture of "view" in advertisement is a little misleading- you cannot see the ocean from inside the unit, need to walk around the backyard, across other people's units to see featured view.
Lynn E. from Powder Springs, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in September, 2011 We loved the property and the area - Princeville. Great value for the price and would stay again. PS - may be time to replace the fridge. :)
The condo was well stocked. Awesome notes for each renter.
Christina S. from Santa Ana, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2011 We had an awesome time. Update on the rental info regarding beach towels and beach equipment being available would be helpful for packing. With 5 people it would have lessended our load, but was still appreciated.Directions were a little off on how many turns from the highway etc.
Kathleen S. from Austin, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 15 days in July, 2011 My daughter (11) and I stayed for two weeks in this first floor unit in July 2011, and it was fabulous. As other reviewers have mentioned, the condo is extremely well equipped, clean, and everything was in good working condition. The community was quiet and the grounds are immaculately kept. The ocean was just visible from the kitchen and dining room windows, and this unit is positioned to take advantage of the ocean breeze. The Alii Kai I pool is much larger than it appears in the photos--it was always clean and never crowded. There was plenty of parking, and the condo location was excellent. We went kayaking, horseback riding, tubing, snorkeling, and hiking and it was a pleasure to come home each day to this condo. We hope to come back again next year!
A guest from Issaquah, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in January, 2011 All in all, a delightful and relatively economical stay in Princeville. Quite comfortable for 2 couples and we felt that saving $50/night by NOT staying in one of the oceanview units was a good deal given that the unit still had beautiful mountain views and the ocean view was only a one minute stroll away. The condo was well equipped and in generally good repair except for a loose shower knob in one bathroom. We never did figure out how to get the new TV and blu-ray DVD player settings correct -- we had to turn the volume way up to hear dialogue but then the other sounds nearly blew us out of our seats. A minor annoyance, but you're not in Hawaii to watch TV, right?
David W. from Pearl City, HI recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in December, 2010 My family and I traveled ALL the way from Oahu and found the Alii Kai to be a great getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life! It was very secluded and relaxing! The condo was very clean and there were fresh flowers everywhere that added that special touch! We would definitely recommend this condo to our friends and family! Much Aloha!
A guest from Bentley, Alberta recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in November, 2010 Location is wonderful, very peaceful! Very large and spacious unit, just a bit dated and be prepared for the rock hard beds!!
Jenice C. from Palatine, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in August, 2010 My family & I had a great stay at Alii Kai. Quiet, nice views, safe parking, and close to the beach and Foodland. I definitely recommend Alii Kai.
The property was very clean and comfortable, which made the vacation even more enjoyable. My wife and I will continue to the pro
