Stayed for 10 days in April, 2015 Excellent en tout point: la proximité à la mer, la vue, le voisinage respectueux, les services, la propreté, le calme et la tranquillité, l'emplacement à côté de Kona... Le BONHEUR.
Kona Makai 2301 A guest from Canby, Oregon does not recommend this property.
Stayed for 10 days in March, 2015 The view was beautiful and the room was nice. I was a little disappointed that we took a vacation to relax and have a good time and we were told at 930pm that beacause we were sitting on the lanai and laughing we were to loud. I was also disapointed that the pool wasnt open until 9am when most places we have stayed its 7am. to top it all off there were ants all over the kitchen and in the cabinets. When we arrived the master bedroom door was partially open as well as the kitchen window, we also found live cockroaches.
Very Pleasant Stay A guest from Orange, CA recommends this property.
Stayed for 16 days in March, 2015 We've stayed at this complex before, but not this particular condo. The complex is a good location, on the shore and within walking distance of Kona The grounds are beautifull and well maintained. It's generally very quite and laid back. Note; much for kids to do, but perfect for mature adults. This condo pretty much met our overall expectations. The view is very good and the unit is well equiped with most every thing one would need. Some needed repairs were reported to Boundless on arrival and taken care of quickly.
Wonderful stay at the Kona Makai A guest from North Vancouver, BC recommends this property.
Stayed for 10 days in August, 2014 We spent 10 days at the Kona Makai. The condo was perfect - quite spacious and it contained most of the amenities we needed. The grounds are stunning - beautifully landscaped and well maintained. The location of the condo is perfect. We were able to explore most of the island using the Kona Makai as our home base.
Had a wonderful time. Great location! Loretta M. from Tujunga, California recommends this property.
Stayed for 7 days in July, 2014 Close to town. Just an FYI the fan in the living room needed the timer set before it would run. Unit clean, updated and kitchen fully equipped. Grounds well maintained. Would go back in a heart beat.
Kona Vacation A guest from Sidney, BC recommends this property.

For your information ..Not to be used for publication A guest from ontario, canada recommends this property.
Stayed for 51 days in January, 2014 We have been coming to Kona many years and have enjoyed our stay at kona Makai. The only problem with our condo this year was the micro wave didn't shut off and it got unusually hot we pulled the plug and didn't use it. Also the dryer must be clogged because the lint trap had no lint to speak of for 2 months of use and took forever to dry clothes. I fear that these things could be a fire hazard. Also not as important ..the light in the kitchen took about an hour to turn on.
Fabulous Accommodations A guest from Saint Helena, CA recommends this property.
Stayed for 7 days in December, 2013 Our visit to Kona Makai was wonderful. The apartment was clean, check in was a breeze and we had a great view of the ocean from our balcony lanai. We were an easy distance from downtown shopping and restaurants in one direction, as well as great snorkeling in the other direction. The pool and hot tub were cleaned daily, and we also enjoyed the pingpong table. Parking was ample, but we had to walk a bit to get to it. Our unit, on the third floor had a great view, but wasn't handicapped accessible. If you have trouble walking, ask for a ground floor apt. near the parking lot.
Family Get Away A guest from Shawano, WI recommends this property.
Stayed for 5 days in July, 2013 We had a very enjoyable stay in #2301 condo. The view and sunsets from the balcony were fantastic. The owners have thought of everything from a cooler to plenty of beach towels & beach chairs, umbrella & boogie boards. Saw cruise ships & dolphins, but best of all enjoyed the Fourth of July fireworks from the lava deposits on the beach. It has a wonderful central location. Were able to make day trips to Volcano National Park with stops at black sand beach to see the sea turtles and Volcano Winery. And another day to a coffee farm, macadamia nut factory & Hapuna Beach State Park. The grounds are immaculate with a wide variety of flowering bushes and plants. With 2 king beds and a loft with twin beds what a perfect vacation retreat for a family. All the amenities of home with the ocean just outside the door. We look forward to our next visit.
Kona Makai 2301 Mary E. from Katy, TX recommends this property.
Stayed for 4 days in June, 2013 Everything was good and clean. They had extra's like Boogie Boards and beach chairs. Plenty of towels. The only negative was the washing machine didn't get enough water out so it took a very, very long time to dry them. But...there was a drying rack and that almost worked better than the dryer for the thicker, heavier items.
Good, but.... A guest from Cogan Station, Penn recommends this property.
Stayed for 3 days in May, 2013 Everthing satisfactory except a couple of minor details:Items not provided which would make for more convenience, such as cooking oil, vegetable peeler, a larger cutting board.Beach towels provided, but guest is required to launder them before leaving. Smalll capacity washer and slow dryer made this an unreasonable requirement.
not a place for kids A guest from San Ramon, CA does not recommend this property.
Stayed for 11 days in July, 2012 WOULD NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN WITH CHILDREN, there is a resident that stalks families with kids and reports the homeowners to their HOA's, she has no Aloha Spirit. The condo was spotless, the mangement team understanding, and they really tried to be accomodating, but this lady just ruined our trip, my kids were scared to back out to the pool because of this woman. This property is NOT CHILD FRIENDLY !!
I'm coming back !!! Michael R. from San Francisco, CA recommends this property.
Stayed for 10 days in March, 2012 The place was great. Clean and very comfortable. The snorkeling was fantastic. This is a place I would come back to again. It's my new favorite !!!
February 2012 Rental Richard S. from Amawalk, NY recommends this property.
Stayed for 31 days in January, 2012 Overall, excellent. Our big disappointment was that we were told when booking a month's rental, we would be given first priority for the 2013 rental. Sadly, that was not the case when we arrived and tried to make the next year's reservation. A new reservation clerk apparently made a mistake, but we are the ones that suffered. We have found another rental, but this has left a very bad view of Prince Properties.
A break from snow A guest from Anchorage, AK recommends this property.
Stayed for 3 days in December, 2011 We enjoyed our stay at your spacious condo and look forward to coming back sometime. No problmens, kitchen had any cooking item we could want for making dinner. We enjoyed the lanai for coffee in the morning and listening to the ocean. Very peaceful. Everything was in working order and you will see us back.
Great Place! A guest from Berkeley, CA recommends this property.
Stayed for 8 days in November, 2011 The condo was very nice, comfortable, well supplied and well located - just enough out of town to be quiet, but close enough for a nice walk. We had a beautiful view of the ocean from our balcony and could watch the dolphins swim by each morning around 8! The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. We will certainly consider this same complex/condo for our next Hawaiian vacation!
UNIT 2-301 KONA MAKAI NEEDS REPAIRS Nancy Y. from Mercer island, WA does not recommend this property.

Stayed for 3 days in April, 2011 The managers office was never open when we were in the property. This was not a big deal as we never (thankfully) needed the manager. Great property!

DAVE M. from Roseville, MN recommends this property.
Stayed for 11 days in January, 2011 We spent 11 nights at this property. Prior to going the reviews were mixed. Seems like only those with children were not happy. We were very satisfied as this is pretty much all adults, which is what we like. The residents, property manager, guests and grounds maintenance guy were all very welcoming and friendly. If you are a smoker (which we are not) this property is not for you. No smoking anywhere. The pool could have been warmer but overall we were very satisfied and would return and likely will.
Kona Makai 2-301 in Kailua-Kona, HI June 2010 Deb L. from Scottsdale, AZ recommends this property.
Stayed for 10 days in June, 2010 Overall everything was great and we will most likely be return. Only issues were ants, waking up to a cockroach on me, and due to lack of elevators free ground level storage would make it much more appealing to divers.
Great location if you have a rental car. Only about 1.5 miles from all the shops and restaurants and close to all other activit Chris W. from Edmond, OK recommends this property.
Stayed for 5 days in June, 2010 It's a real quiet place. Really no other kids on the property, but we weren't around much during the day. Very convenient and easy to use. Loved having the full kitchen and great eating area to save a few bucks on a couple of meals.
Kona Makai 2-301 in Kailua-Kona, HI, United States A guest from VADO, NM recommends this property.
Stayed for 6 days in April, 2010 We've stayed in many vacation homes over the years. This was among the best. The location on the ocean combined spectacular views with accessible recreation large and small. The property was all that was advertised. Minor issues the owner should look into (or is already looking into) include the wireless internet access, which only worked well on the Lanai, and the screen doors and blinds (front entry and lanai), which did not close well. Everything else was comfortable. We will stay here again when we return to Kona.
We were extemely pleased with our condo - it is the first time I have ever rented a condo. The Office and condo personnel were Joanne S. from San Rafael, CA recommends this property.
Stayed for 7 days in April, 2010 bad knee - but since there was nothing comparable available, we chose to stay and limit my walking up and down. I do not consider myself disabled, but have a bad knee. It did not dawn on me to ask if there was an elevator - nor did it dawn on the rental agency to mention this. I might suggest there be a mention to future renters. It is a lovely location an my grandchildren and son thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rental office was supportive. We have no complaints - only memories of a delightful stay in Kona. Thank you.

Stayed for 7 days in February, 2010 The condo was very pretty, clean, and quiet, The beds were very comfortable, and we had a great view. They do have a lot of rules, and the internet was a bit of a challenge. Definetly a place for adults, not children. Overall, I liked it a lot.
great view of the water, quiet location A guest from Jacksonville, NC recommends this property.
Stayed for 9 days in October, 2009 our only complaint with the unit was that one of the air conditioners was broken and it wasn't fixed until we were 3 days into our vacation - other than that, everyone was helpful and polite and the location was beautiful and very quiet. We would definitely consider another trip here. It is less than 2 miles from downtown for shopping and food as well.
