Welcome to cozy “Creekside Hideaway,” an authentic log cabin tucked amongst the beautiful trees and mature rhododendrons. For a truly restful getaway this is the place to be. The wooded setting provides plenty of cool shade in the summer months and vibrant colors in the fall months. The trickle of the creek echoes through the cabin to provide a soothing and peaceful feel. Step through the door of your expansive Carolina mountain retreat and you immediately notice the splendid decorating with rich colors complimenting the warm wood tones throughout. The wooden interior is decorated with antiques and colorful quilts. You’ll feel like you’ve entered a different world, one of sheer relaxation. Build a fire in the wood-burning stove and watch the embers glow. There’s a Yamaha keyboard for the musicians in the family, satellite TV, DVD, and VCR in the living room (a spare TV/DVD/VCR in the master bedroom) as well as a desktop computer with high speed internet access for those who need to stay in contact. Bring your own laptop and enjoy wireless internet access at any spot in the cabin. Your fully equipped kitchen with a dining room table that seats eight provides plenty of space for spreading out snacks or preparing a large family holiday meal. Your floor level master bedroom/private bath offers one of our prized cabin features, a superbly comfortable king size mountain laurel log bed handmade by a local mountain craftsman. Upstairs you’ll find another full bath and two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with 2 twins (the sleeper sofa accommodates 2 as well). We’ve saved the best for last…..step out the back kitchen door to a magnificent spacious screened in porch and listen to the creek as it babbles by. Relax in the hot tub that seats 6, read a favorite book on a restful afternoon, or just take a nap in one of the comfortable lounge chairs. You will also find a gas grill for a family cookout. Bringing the kids and pets along? The shallow creek makes a great place for playing in the water, catching crawfish, and exploration. Roast marshmallows in the fire pit by the creek under the stars. When you’re ready to head for town for dining, shopping, or entertainment you don’t have to drive far. Todd General Store is 5 minutes away where you can have lunch and on some nights listen to authentic mountain music. Quaint West Jefferson is 8 minutes away and has cute shops, fine dining, and colorful night spots. If you crave a college town, Boone is an easy 20 minute drive. The Mountain Aire Golf Course, Blue Ridge Parkway, and New River State Park are close by as well. The famous Virginia Creeper biking trail, Appalachian hiking trail, and skiing resorts are less than an hour away and well worth the trip. Beaver Creek trout fishing stream is 5 minutes away at the intersection of 194 and 221. All of your needs will be met at cozy Creekside Hideaway, the perfect place for a relaxing mountain getaway.
