Very Comfortable Condo

It is just like described plus it has great bath towels and nice sheets on the bed - a small detail but important to us. The location is close to wherever you want to go. As for the "Captain Cook Team", they are to the BEST!! And Paul - he was there when we arrived and saw to our few needs promptly and with a smile. We found the construction across the street very interesting to watch and the low noise level did not bother us.

Unfortunately with the continued construction across the street and loss of sunshine after 4:00 each day and the potential loss of sunshine in the morning with the completion of the second tower, the idyllic life around the pool is coming to a close. Too bad. All we can do is wait and see. The four days of continuous rain did not help either.

Short walk to the beach and even shorter to shopping and restaurants. Unfortunately the nice ocean views will all but disappear once the construction across the street is complete. Paul was very helpful and made our stay more comfortable.

Except for the construction going on across the street. The noise starts at 4:30am YES 4:30am and continues till 6pm every day except Sunday. I love the location and being able to walk everywhere around Waikiki. The Bus stop is right outside the building too. The condo is very nicely upgraded and everything worked great. Wish I was a heavy sleeper and the condo would be perfect.

There have been very few complaints about the construction noise - most think it's barely noticeable. The construction schedule they are required to adhere to is Monday through Friday, 7am - 6pm; Saturday, 9am - 6pm. If construction actually started at 4:30am, everyone in the building - and on the block would be up in arms!

I was there for six weeks, and I wish I could have taken the condo back to Baltimore with me. It was a perfect size for one or two people, and it was high enough up that the noise from the street wasn't horrible. Great view, and easy walk to the beach, shops, and restaurants. Clean and adorable. The property manager was incredibly helpful, and the security guards were all nice and friendly.

Rental Agent(CC)was professional and helpful but a bit "distant". ie. Forget the lei greeting or bottle of wine, or even a follow up phone call to ask how things are going. (Perhaps they've learned the hard way). View was super as long as you looked "above the balcony rail" (more later) Good location right in the heart of Waikiki.The Bad-- Unit is small, but it's advertised at 553 sq ft, so pace it off. (not big). Thankfully it has a bedroom door. Furnishings were adequate, but sparse. No pictures, no art, not even a "chochkie" to make it feel like a home. Kitchen ok, but can't fry or broil on the range as it vents back into unit causing thick smoke. Towels, linens, etc. from Walmart. The Ugly - If one looks below the balcony rail one will see: Homeless sleeping across the street, a tattoo parlor and bordello? Lots of asphalt roofs and two huge vent fans that run 24/7, which are no problem during the day, but at night went from merely annoying to maddening. You will also hear sounds of the city such as every bus that stops in front, yelling and cursing from the drunks at night, and police and fire sirens 24/7.Summary:We won't be back. Partly because of 1904 and partly because of what Waikiki has become. (I lived on Oahu for five years previously and "knew it when".)One can find other properties and if one feels one must visit Oahu then my suggestion is to find something as high up as possible in another area such as Diamond Head or out a bit at Hawaii Kai.
