Vacation Condo Rental Description:
This condo has an open livingroom and dining area. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need. The master bedroom has a king size bed and the second bedroom two twin beds. There a two full baths one in each bedroom. Pets are not permitted in this unit and smoking is allowed outside only. There is a large deck that over looks the beach. Enjoy the great breezes from this deck. Oh, did I mention the sunrises are amazing! Nestled in the golden dunes of Mustang Island, Beachhead condos all have gulf views. The complex amenities include a swimming pool, lounge facility for up to 60 people with a fully equipped kitchen, great for parties, weddings, family reunions, basketball and volleyball court, playground, private boardwalk to the beach just steps from any of the units. sorry--bad review A guest from Frederic, WI does not recommend this property. Stayed for 30 days in February, 2013 We love Port A, and Beachhead is a great location(great ocean view). This is the second unit we have stayed in, and when staying a month, the furnishings leave a lot to be desired.The bathrooms had been remodeled beautifully, but there was no drawer in the vanity or a medicine cabinet to keep the many toiletries one needs during a month. The towels were excellent.The couch was unusable--if you sat down, you were lucky to get up again. Poor mattresses(the twin beds were too short for adult male).There was something with the wooden floors--feet always got dirty--would have to wash bottoms of feet after walking on it(we didn't want to wear shoes and bring in sand).Old tv(not great picture).i know it's up to individual owners to replace furnishings, but it's too bad the rental office can't set some standards. We don't expect luxury, just comfortable! |

We usually stay at the beach-front Sand Piper so we were a little disappointed at the obstructed view of the Ocean and discouraged by the longer walk to the beach. Otherwise, unit 405BH was recently renovated with modern anemities which make cooking in the kitchen a pleasure. |

The AC unit drain tube clogged and leaked but staff did an excellent job of responding and getting it fixed. The only improvement would be updating the unit we rented and cleaning the carpets. The carpet needed some attention. Great location, good value, nice pool, lawns and bbq pits, can walk to the beach. Always enjoy our stay at the Beachhead. Property management reps were very helpfull. Hope to be back soon. |

It's at the Gulf and very conveniently located ~ near shops and restaurants. The Unit itself was very well maintained and comfortable. Furnishings looked as thought they had been recently added, and there was a freshness to the if it had been aired out frequently, and cared for with TLC! This is a very well maintained property, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a hassle-free vacation at the Gulf.My only criticism: the front door doornob was loose and hard to manage. A replacement lock is in order. The deadbolt lock was very easy to lock from the inside, but not able to be locked with a key from the outside. I prefer double security, so these locks could definitely be looked at. |

Beachhead tan t. from austin, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2011 Beachhead condominiums is a nice place for Port Aransas vacation. We rented 2 condos, stay at 405, and 406. VERY please with 406. The kitchen has been recently renovated and I love the style. Unit 405 on the other hand was very outdated and had a distinct old smell to it. I had a great time either way. The pool is just a regular pool but I had lots of fun there. I wished the volleyball court was filled with sand instead of shells. The picnic tables and outdoor grills were nice. Beach access is nice too. Overall I highly recommend this place. Please management, could you replace the shells and rocks on the volleyball court to soft sand. Thanks! |

Too Much $$ for Little Linda R. from San Antonio, TX does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2011 It takes the fridge 24hrs for temp changes to take affect so be prepared you food and drinks to be warm until the end of the next day, this should be done by the property since they know you are coming. We stayed here last same number of people year paid less for a two bedroom(1 queen/2 twins) condo was large and was right at beach entrance, this time reserved two bedroom(3 queens) condo was much much smaller for the price we paid, was told it was close to the beach entrance it we were three buildings away. First time we stayed there were told one price when we got were charged another, this time was told total was $X and reservation was $X got receipt by email 24hr later reservation was over by $50 and total was over by +$200. Called to get this correct and was told I had to call the next which I did and thankfully was fixed received 2nd email 24hr later showing correct amount. However, at the time of check (2 empolyees in office one at desk and one at a computer)office tried to charge the incorrect amount I informed them that they were incorrect and it wasn't until I pointed that out did the employee at the computer say that it was the incorrect amount that they just forgot to print/pull the correct information. From now on I will be choosing portaescapes or beachhead condo for our vacation rentals. |

Stayed for 2 days in August, 2010 This is second year I have taken my daughter and my two grandsons (ages 9 & 6) to Port A. They actually requested to return this year. We played in the surf w/skim boards, tubes, etc. Flew kites, built sand castles and looked for shells. Restaurants are close and good food. We especially liked the Brewing Company pizza place. Saw beautiful sunset from Virginia's by the Bay. The Coldwell Banker people we dealt with were wonderful and so very helpful. Condo was large enough for us all and couldn't have asked for a better location. My 6 year old grandson says that the excitement of seeing your condo for the first time and getting a feel for the place is one of his favorite things. You passed his test. See you all at Port A next year! |

It was exactly what I needed to unwind after a lot of stress this past year! I will be booking again! The only problem I experienced was that the kitchen floor was extremely sticky, and I had to buy cleaner and mop it thoroughly. Also, Under the Sea could do with an "updating" as fare as the decor is concerned. Despite those two issues, the peace and quiet made the stay worth the money! |
