We just resurfaced our historic and wooded tennis court so come to play!One great feature of the main house is that each room opens out onto the deck, allowing independent and private access, along with great windows front and back and "dutch doors" where you can open the top half and let in the light and air and music of the birds in morning and afternoon! The location is ideal for a peaceful stay but also with an active lifestyle for adults and kids. We are across the street from the historic Inverness school (with playground); adjacent to many walking trails, including the Inverness Ridge; within an easy and safe walk to quaint and small "downtown Inverness" with its General Store, Post Office, gift shop and restaurants; within a very short walk to world renowed Mankas Czech Restaurant; within a short drive to Tomales State Park swimming beaches (including marvelous Shell Beach) and perhaps a 30 minute drive to the magical Point Reyes and Drakes Bay ocean beaches and to the Point Reyes Lighthouse with whale watching in the winter months. Kayaking and sailing are available for rent on Tomales Bay. Other quality restaurants are nearby in Point Reyes Station and Olema, just a few miles away. If you are like us, you might prefer to stay in the very private, park like setting, playing tennis, climbing trees, playing board games or reading books in the cozy living room by the fire or on the deck shaded by oak trees. That has worked for five generations in our family, enjoying the magic of Inverness since the turn of the last century. The historic main house and tennis court date back to the 1890s with the rest of the house added in the 1930s. The master suite over the garage has a bath/shower. The main bathroom next to one of the queen bed rooms has an updated shower along with a washer and dryer and skylight. Most of our customers come back year after year and we hope you will make our property your special vacation home near the Point Reyes National Seashore. Inverness is the last development before you enter the mass of the Point Reyes National Seashore, 72,000 acres of wilderness and beach and ranchland with wildlife and wildflowers.
