Awesome Beachfront Condo
Jann W. from Placerville, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in January, 2016 Had a wonderful 4 days stay in the roomy beachfront condo Number 12. I can't say enough about how awesome the view is outside the windows and from the outside amenities and pool. Erik made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable when we arrived. He and his staff helped arrange the golf cart rental, Flyfishingshow trip with local guide, and pointed us to the tour company next door for snorkel tour to Hol Chan and Shark Ray Alley.
Steve H. from Pottsboro, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2015 We had a wonderful time! The condo was in a quiet area on the island but a short golf cart ride to restaurants and shopping. We liked the location. Condo was clean and was ocean front for beautiful views. There were seven of us and it accommodated well for sleeping. Living room was small and there was only a bar with four stools, no travel, for eating but we made that work without too much difficulty. The pool was almost always empty which my older children liked andthe owners we met were very friendly at the property. We set up a island BBQ and snorkeling trip thru the tour company that was an easy walk from the condo and would highly recommend it! An amazing day ! We went to the mainland one day (short flight of 20 min on Tropic air) and rented a car for the day. We did cave tubing with our guide George that we hired and he was awesome! This was the best excursion we have done on any trip and I highly recommend it. A hike through the jungle to rivers and tubes might not be for everyone but perfect for our family! This was a wonderful vacation and plan to return very soon!
Kerry S. from Abbotsford, BC recommends this property. Stayed for 15 days in March, 2015 We had a wonderful stay at Caribe thanks to Ken and Staff. The property is beautiful and immaculate. During our stay there was a red tide coming in so swimming in the ocean wasn't really an option but on the nicer days it was possible to wade out and snorkel near the docks. We were so happy we had a pool! The condo itself was very clean and nicely decorated. There are a few things that could be updated such as all the fixtures (which we are sure erode no doubt to the salty humid air). It slept our party of 6 + a baby very comfortably! The condo is located south of town about a 5 min drive by golf cart (15 by bicycle) We enjoyed being out of town as it was quiet and relaxing. Nearby there is a convenience store (1 min walk) and two restaurants with great food both a short 5 min walk. We had no problem adventuring into town for groceries and essentials that could not be procured at the corner store. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. All the people who live in the complex are very friendly and we will definetly consider going back to Caribe for our future visits to San Pedro!
Unit 20 Jan 25 to Feb 7 rental by R. Taraschuk and P. Galbraith
A guest from Oakville, Manitoba recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in January, 2015 We found the unit well stocked and well maintained. Maid service, we were told would occur half way through our stay. We had to email to get service and then inexplicably never used clean towels were removed rather than just the dirty ones in laundry basket. Our family group rented 3 different units and ours appeared to be the best of the lot. However living room chair cushions need to be replaced. Sat on the wood. I would recommend this complex to others for location; quiet and quality.
Robert W. from Swoope, VA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in December, 2014 Our family had a great time together there. It was accurately described on the internet and was beyond our expectations.
William H. from Gig Harbor, Washington recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in February, 2014 Eight of us stayed 10 nights at Caribe island and had a wonderful time. not a lot of privacy in loft so expect that. From this location you will need a cart, but we were glad we were out of the main town and the quiet nights and privacy was worth it.There is a small store about a 100 yards from unit(great tortillas). The view doesn't get any better than this. We will be back.
George G. from Hebron, KY recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in December, 2013 Everything was very nice. The only complaint we had was that the mattresses on all the beds were very uncomfortable. I like a firm mattress but theses were Almost to the point of being hard.
A guest from Calgary, AB recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in November, 2013 The resort was clean, well-maintained, and right on the beach. Our suite was very clean, spacious, fully-equipped kitchen, two nice bathrooms and two lovely patios overlooking the ocean! But it was quite a bit farther from town than we had expected, and the road to and from town was in serious need of grating and repair. The potholes were huge and tough to navigate! It made for a long and bumpy drive, at least twice daily. Overall we enjoyed the property but the location was not ideal. Also, the resort was deserted at the time of our stay, so while it was private, it was slightly eerie, especially for a group of 4 girls traveling on our own!
Robert K. from Plano, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 31 days in July, 2013 The value was astounded - ocean view was paradise. This is not a new shiney complex but you're looking for value, this is it.
Jennifer C. from Conroe, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2013 We had a wonderful Stay at Caribe Island Resort. My husband, children, mother in-law and Aunt were very pleased with the condo and the location. The condo we stayed in was super clean. The grounds were absolutely beautiful. The management staff was very helpful when we needed anything. We took 2 separate tours with Suya tours, fishing one day and snorkeling another. We found their pricing very reasonable and the staff was great. We really enjoyed our visit to Ambergris Cayes. Everyone was so friendly. We will certainly be back!
A guest from Deloraine, Manitoba does not recommend this property. Stayed for 14 days in February, 2013 Too far from San Pedro, 2 and 1/2 miles. Sand flys, lots of bites. Wine expensive. Trip took too long getting there, maybe our own fault. People very friendly, english spoken, great pool made up for no beach. We did not have a terrible time, some things were just not what we expected.
A guest from Rankin Inlet, Nunavut recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in February, 2013 We had a wonderful stay. The other guests and owners made us feel like we belonged to teh family. I couldn't have asked for anything better.
Andy d. from Richmond, BC recommends this property. Stayed for 13 days in January, 2013 Amazing place to stay. It's a little farther than we expected, but we enjoyed the beach walk(45 minutes). It states 3 bedrooms but its 2 bedroom and a loft, both bathrooms attach to a bedroom and you cannot get to one without going into a bedroom. Just a bad layout. We were 3 couples, so it made it awkward. Beautiful place, great people, we had an amazing time
Linda R. from Dryden, ON recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in January, 2013 Condo was spacious and well equipped. The six of us had plenty of space. The loft however does not provide a lot of privacy for whoever stays in it. Would have been nice to have access to more bikes. Overall a great experience and would have no trouble recommending this property as a place to stay
Garth G. from Auburn, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in November, 2012 Perfect setting with a professional staff. far away from the noises of the city with great views, walking distance to stores and restaurants. Good time had by all!
Jeramy J. from Buckeye, AZ recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2012 We had an awesome time at Caribe Island Resort! The condo was great! We spent 7 days enjoying our time on the island. Our unit was very clean. All the amenities we needed were there. Ana and Erik were very helpful. They had us setup with a golf cart waiting at the condo when we got there. They also got us set up with Suya Tours. When you get to the island, many people will try to set you up with their tours, but I recommend Suya tours. Carlos the owner, went out of his way to find us when we accidentally left our camera at his office. Everyone we met were friendly and helpful. I can't begin to tell you how much fun we had. We'll be returning next year!
Jake H. from bend, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in February, 2012 i took my wife, two children 10 and 12, and two sets of grandparents and we stayed in the palm suite for nine days. it was an amazing trip.the condo was huge and the view was gorgeous. the decor was modern but at the same time, had the charm of a tropical get away. all the appliances worked well and there was plenty of kitchenware. the showers had decent pressure. it was the perfect distance from downtown as well, about 2.5 miles but it does take about 20 minutes to get there by golf cart. riding a bike or walking are options but the closer you get to town, the busier and more congested it gets.next door to the condo is sura tours. we decided not to book any excursions before we got there so that we could shop around a little. it turned out that sura tours was either the same or lower than any price we got for snorkeling or fishing so we did a number of outings with them. they were extremely nice. in fact, my father in law got pretty ill one night. it was about 10pm and we were heading in to town hoping to find a clinic. we just happen to pass carlos and his wife, who own sura tours, on the way out and he stopped us to see what was wrong. we told him and he explained that there was nothing open. he told us to follow him back to his house, he invited us in and proceeded to call his friend, a doctor. the doctor met us a half hour later at his home/clinic and got him all fixed up. it was amazing. the doctor told us to come back tomorrow to settle the bill and he would fix him up with the prescriptions he needed. almost everyone there went out of there way to help in one way or another.i found it a little tough to get certain information before we went so if you are considering the trip and have a question, please email me. my name is jake. just go to and click on the contact link. overall, i was more than impressed with the condo, san pedro and the entire island. we plan to go back very soon.
Elizabeth G. from Toronto, Ontario recommends this property. Stayed for 30 days in November, 2011 Everything was well organized ,pick-up met us at the airport,Erik was at the apt to greet us,explain the workings of apt, property and town.He had our golf cart delivered early next am--definitely needed, didn't want to depend on taxis every day.Loved the condo, beautiful view from all 3 balconies, beds were comfortable and kitchen well stocked.Lovely pool and palapa, other guests and permanent residents were friendly and helpful.I thought the location would be too far from town but was actually perfect--the south location is much easier for driving into town than from the north end.Drove every day to San Pedro Club-water aerobics 4x week in huge triple pool, club equipment a bit outdated but more than adequare for a month's holiday.Local restaurant,Joe's(or called Lone Star),good home cooking and a short 4 minute walk, safe at night, police station on the way there!Security guard on property all night, felt very safe in apt.Would definitely return to same apt another time.
A guest from Roland, Arkansas recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in May, 2011 Great location. Nice condo. Needs a bit of upgrading, especially kitchen, which was sufficiently stocked, but lacked some items like garlic press, etc. Awesome beds. Nice view. Aircon doesn't cool well downstairs. Nice snorkeling from the pier. Pool area kept clean and nice, but grounds around Palapa continually trashy and unkept with litter. A few touches would make this an awesome place - new cushions for pool loungers and some nice outdoor furniture, both for complex and unit. It's plastic. Also... not really a beach, but a bulkhead with sand. If you want a beach, head east in the Caribbean.
Reviewed by: Ronald Lee A. recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in April, 2011 We were a family of six and thoroughly enjoyed everything about the condo during our week-long reunion. I don't think any one of us had a single complaint all week. The location outside of San Pedro made for a quiet, relaxing week. Being right on the beach and next to the pool and party house was very convenient. Having cable TV and WiFi were extras we seldom have had at other condos and were appreciated. We used SUYA Tours all week and were very pleased with them and the fact that they were so close. We would highly recommend Caribe Island condos to anyone. All week long I kept getting compliments from other family members about what an extraordinarily fine job I did of selecting such perfect accommodations. It's all your website said it was - and more. Thanks!!!
Krishna V. from Los Angeles, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in March, 2011 A group of 6 of us stayed at Caribe Island Resort for a week and had an amazing time. The property was perfect for what we wanted. A nice secluded area with a private pool, beach and dock. The entire experience was terrific and would 100% go back there.
A guest from New York, NY recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in February, 2010 if you are looking for a quiet getaway this is a wonderful location. It is 5ks out of town, and you will transport (golf cart) to get into San pedro to get supplies. The managers were extremely helpful before our arrival, on arrival and departure helping us with hiring golf carts and where to shop and find great little restaurants and bars. We would return and definitely explore more of the Barrier Reef - stunning.
Caribe Island Resort: An amazing experience on an awesome island
A guest from Kansasville, WI recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in January, 2010 We began our search for a condo to accommodate 8 people on Ambergris Caye early in 2009. Narrowing our choices, we decided on Caribe Island Resort mostly because of the sleeping arrangement of the Palm Suite(2 bedrooms w/ queen beds and a large loft w/queen bed and twin bed, and hide-a-bed in living room). We also liked the pool area(some resorts on the caye don't even have a pool), the pier(even caught fish!), and overall look of the interior and exterior(nice grounds, clean pool!) of the resort. Our suite has a well equipped kitchen, even a blender for margaritas, but no oven or corkscrew(no big deal, we borrowed one from the neighbor, who were mostly owners and very friendly, helpful and informative). The plumbing, namely leaky toilets, were our only real disappointment. Although, we told Eric and he seemed ready to "get right on it", so hopefully that issue is already resolved. After getting much help from two of the condo owners(thanks, Tim & Kent!)we felt well prepared for our stay. Even though we were in the middle of the property management change, Anna & Eric made that transition very smooth. They were attentive to our needs and requests, although I would recommend leaving more toilet paper right from the get-go, so guests don't have to bug you for those types of incidentals :) Anna connected us with our very own personal taxi driver, George, who is now our close personal friend. We LOVED George!! He not only was attentive, prompt and reliable, he went WAY beyond what you would expect in a taxi driver, by, for example, going to the home of a local merchant after business hours, to get us a gallon of the most incredible fresh squeezed orange juice you have ever tasted!(his stand is located near the San Pedro Supermarket)We needed George's services almost daily, as the condo complex is 2 1/2 miles from San Pedro town, but we found this location just fine, as we were in a safer part of the island and away from the nightlife and nois
