Handle on bathtub faucet in Master bedroom was missing. Some of the electrical outlets in kitchen were not working, had to move some of appliances around. Front of stove was greasy & there was a greasy spot in front of the refrigerator that was very slippery, took a throw rug from bathroom and placed in front of refrigerator. Garbage cans were overflowing when we checked in. |

Stayed for 3 days in January, 2013 We came to Bearings to celebrate my 30th birthday with our two very young children. We got in late, and unloaded our food on the counters in the kitchen, only to find ants everywhere in the morning. Ant traps scattered all over the kitchen in back of all the small appliances. Dirty dish towels, pot holders, dishes as well! The one tub only had cold water, so we had to bath our 16 month old and 2 month old in a slippery shower. Couch smelled stronly of mens cologne, and was filthy along with the area rug. Emailed Bodega Bay Escapes with pictures, and still have not received a response. We let the staff know when we dropped the keys off, and no response again from management. Horrible stay. Will not use Bodega Bay Escapes again. We will take our business back to Bodega Bay Lodge and Spa! |

There were couple of minor things which were not good - we had asked for a extra bbq grill. I was thrilled to see that they had actually given us one until I opened it. It was NASTY!!! I don't mind cleaning something a little but, this looked like it has not been cleaned in a while. We spent at least 45 minutes cleaning it. One of the sinks also had a dirty rusty stopper to look at. I wish they would replace that. The outside plastic chair were also NASTY. I am not talking about minor dust or sand. They also looked like they haven't been cleaned in a while - it was nasty dust and food spills (not food stains) stuck on it. We tried cleaning and scrubbing it off but, then just ended up using towels to cover them up. |

The views are amazing! It's a little up the hill so if the fog is in you lose the water view quickly, but you can still hear the water and it's close to beaches. There were a few minor flaws that could be fixed or replaced, but nothing to really make a fuss over. I will probably stay in this house again in the future. :) |

Beds were comfortable, linens were plentiful and comfortable, too.Small comment on kitchen: it needs a colander (the size you can drain pasta, not the little decorative one--pasta is such a staple for a Bodega Bay trip!); it needs a large cooking pot; and the salad spinner needs a lid. Small but these things make food preparation convenient.Otherwise--great visit. |

Bearings- Great Home but could be cleaner A guest from San Francisco, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in December, 2010 Bearings was a spacious house with breathtaking views. Our major concern was the cleanliness. The floors and table tops were filthy when we arrived. We have a 13 month old, so we are particularly sensitive to the cleanliness. We had to vacuum and mop the floors when we arrived to get it to our standards. The dishes were also dirty- it is the previous renter's responsibility to clean them and they were quite dirty. The towels could also use replacing. There are still ants there, though the traps do the trick. The property manager was kind in answering our questions but I was disappointed that they didn't have any services for parents (crib, high chair, outlet covers, etc) and we had to haul all of our stuff. |

There was something wrong with the frame, and the underpinning came apart on the second night and we had to sleep in twin beds in another bedroom. Smoke alarms kept going off in the middle of the night (3 of them). Never during the day. Wireless was not working due to not paying the bill. the owners should put up some window coverings due to the fact that one can't see the television until the sun goes down around 8:00 p.m. Glare from large viewing windows was terrible. Telephone did not work either but since we had our cell phones it wasn't a problem but they should be taken care of. Management company tried their best to help us so I have no complaints about them except for their not returning calls when they said they would to let us know of wireless situation. In spite of above, would highly recommend the company and the home. Things happen sometimes. |
