Terry and sally's stay at Hanalei Bay Resort 8131
Terry and Sally S. from Vancouver, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in June, 2016 Our room was nice and clean, the bed was just the way we liked it. We like a more soft bed and that was just the way it was. We enjoyed the grounds. The staff was on top of everything. No complaints, only if the phone worked. We would come back again.
Christina S. from Portland, Oregon does not recommend this property. Stayed for 9 days in April, 2016 Beautiful grounds and helpful staff but the condo was really old and had PAPER thin walls. I would never stay on the bottom floor again. Also, the unit had the refrigerator in the bathroom and there was no sink besides the bathroom sink to wash dishes in..kind of gross. The owner can spend a little bit of money and upgrade that unit and get nicer furniture etc. It was pretty cheaply decorated and smelled musty/moldy. We had a GREAT trip but I wouldn't stay in a room like that again. I guess we got what we paid for!
Mike F. from Calgary, AB recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in April, 2016 The room was excellent. The pictures don't do it justice. Super comfortable bed and a very nice washroom. It was a pleasant surprise to find a microwave, bridle, coffee pot, plates, etc. It had a nice little hidden kitchenette that made life easier. I was able to store enough food in the fridge and use both the kitchenette and bbqs at the resort to make some fantastic meals. The view was amazing. One of the best in my opinion. It was also in the perfect location. Close to the lower pool and BBQ. It was also easy to get to the beach if you called for a cart. I found that there were less roosters close to us which also made it easier to sleep in the mornings. The room was in the perfect area and made it easy and quick to walk anywhere in the resort. The room was also very clean. The management company was super easy to deal with. They got back to me right away with anything I needed, including adding on an additional day.I would definitely go back to this room and would reccomend it to anyone.
Alison S. from HONOLULU, HI recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in March, 2016 My boyfriend and I stayed here over spring break for 4 nights. The pictures are 100% what the room and grounds look like. I saw past reviews saying the pictures weren't accurate. The view from the lanai is ahhhmazing! The resort is so beautiful. The room is a little ways out there but we walked up to the car most of the times because we don't mind he excercise! The pool is great and the hot tub has sand on the bottom instead of concrete! Yes you have to pay the daily resort fee but it's worth it. The room is very large and spacious, the bed comfy, bathroom nice as well. The fridge in the bathroom is a little strange but no big deal. Even though we were there during spring break the resort was very quiet and not packed with families. We had such a great time staying here and had an amazing time on Kauai that it was sad to go back home. I would definitely recommend staying here. The price for everything is worth it! Thank you Angela for being hospital and flexible with our check in/check out times!! We hope to be back again :)
Katrina M. from Anchorage, Alaska recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in January, 2016 My husband and I stay at the Hanalei Bay Resort in room 8131 and it was a great week! The room is nice and spacious. It had a toaster and dishes to use! The mini fridge came in really handy. It was a very clean room. It has a nice little deck with a table and chairs with an amazing view on Hanalei Bay! The stay was very nice and very helpful if we needed something!
Millicent C. from Davis, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 12 days in November, 2015 We loved our stay at Hanalei Bay Resort. The grounds are beautiful. Although the pool is not heated, the spa is great. The room is spacious with a view of Bali Hai. The room has enough amenities to prepare simple snacks. The shuttle is essential for older adults. The beach is a great place to watch surfers and weddings. The large room is a nice surprise.

andrew o. from Bishop, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in October, 2015 I am absolutely satisfied with my stay. The room was clean, simple, and has a great view. The resort is amazingly beautiful with a nice pool and walking access to beach and coral. The water is all warm. My only complaint is that the resort charges $15 a day on top of rental price that I wasn't prepared for. I'm happy nonoe the less

Lilia M. from San diego, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2015 Great location, nice beach, beutiful veiw from any place on the property( waterfalls, mountains, beach in the distances) the only down side was: the restaurant on the property was temporarily closed, also the unit was a bit smelly but this are privet owned units so is not characteristic to all units( just keep in mind). Over all we loved it.

A guest from Sandy, UT recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in August, 2015 Hanalei Bay Resort was amazing and 8131 was great for us! Picture perfect views!! Thank you for offering this unit at a reasonable price, so we could go on our dream vacation!! We are already planning a trip back!
Karyn C. from Coorabell, NSW recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in May, 2015 - staff helpful and friendly - gorgeous surrounds, breath taking views- room 8131 looking a bit tired, out dated & old- rusty aircon at front of room needs cover- owners need to visit and freshen room up - video no instructions only works in B & W- rate room 2 stars - rate resort 4 stars
A guest from Alta Loma, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in November, 2014 We loved the Hanalei Bay Resort. The resorts location is ideal and the service was great. When all resort facilities (restaurant, bars etc) are again operational it will be that much better. The lock-out unit (hotel room) we stayed in was adequate. The view is the best part of the hotel unit however the furnishings are somewhat dated and there is a bit of a mildew smell inside. The lack of a microwave is also disappointing. That being said, it was very comfortable and economical. All in all we had a fantastic time and would recommend the hotel unit for someone on a budget.
A guest from Harrodsburg, KY recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in January, 2014 The Hanalei Bay Resort is beautiful beyond description!! The grounds, the main pool, the view are amazing. We loved sitting on the porch every morning having coffee, looking jat the ocean & mountains and our daily visit from ducks, birds, roosters & chickens. We were surprised that there was not even a starter pod of coffee. We were not aware that to get clean towels or a new roll of toilet paper, we had to call Re-Max, which was inconvenient, but overall we were delighted with our stay.
Martin S. from West Kensington, London recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2013 The resort is lovely with a great view, however the website is a little misleading as Condo 8131 is in fact only a room - not even a microwave plus the fridge is in the bathroom adjacent to the toilet! However, ReMax were extremely good and quickly moved us to another condo so overall we were very happy with the experience.
A guest from Granada Hills, California does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in May, 2013 We were greeted by a smelly unit, stained threadbare sheets with holes. Smelly towels. Non existent wifi. After 2 days, we started getting bites. Strings of bites in a row. The last day I woke up with a bite on my calf & a dried blood running from it. Inspecting the sheets, we found blood sreaks/stains from recent bites. Little tiny black balls in the sheets. Bed bug bites & excrement. We had to run to the store, buy trash bags & stuff all our clothes in the bags as quarantine. Horrible way to end a stay in paradise. Writing to remax brought an insulting letter from the property manager. Never again will we stay at this so-called "resort".
Peter H. from Ojai, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in January, 2013 Our stay in Room 8131 was for the most part pleasant...beautiful grounds and views. The room did have a "damp" smell that was remedied by keeping the window and door open to create cross ventilation. I was told that the room had wireless reception but sadly discovered that the signal was too weak for my laptop...requiring me to walk 5 minutes uphill 3 times a day to access the computer (if available) in the lobby. It would have been helpful to know this beforehand as I would not have brought my much needed laptop.Lastly, I was not informed beforehand that in addition to the $25 resort fee, there was a $5/day resort "check-in" fee which I was not prepared for. (Please let guests know this beforehand). Mahalo.
