The kiva fireplace along with the adobe walls, vigas, and brick floors makes this a wonderful Santa Fe Casita not to mention the tasteful artwork and appointments. The washer and dryer are shared with four other units.

Stayed for 5 days in October, 2011 Over the years we have used The Management Group many times for rental properties and were always satisfied. Our business held our Board of Directors meetings in Santa Fe on an annual basis for several years.This time when I called for information, the first person I spoke with was so bad, I decided to hang up and call back later, hoping to get a new person, which I did. My husband and I had twice rented at The Alma Compound before, so I was familiar with it.As we drove in from Albuquerque, we followed the directions you sent us, which directed us to The Management Company's old address on Paseo de Peralta!!! That was a bad mistake. Someone there then told us how to get to your address on Old Santa Fe Trail.The house was perfect for us. Two minor complaints - the shower head was terrible and we pulled a couple of wine glasses out of the cupboard that had lipstick on them. We thought Yvonne, the new receptionist was great. We pointed out the initial error with the directions and she said she would deal with it. Also, I had left my medications at home and my husband sent them to me Fed Ex in care of Kokopelli. I called Yvonne to alert her to that, and she called me to let me know they had arrived the next day. Very much appreciated.We loved the house, the location is great, and we had a wonderful visit to Santa Fe. Can't wait to plan our next trip there. |

Stayed for 4 days in March, 2011 We loved the unit and the location was lovely. I did notice that it could have been cleaner, but this didn't bother me very much. What bothered me more was that I found communication (or lack thereof) with the property management office somewhat frustrating. We have a 2-year old, and I really wanted something close enough to walk to the plaza, but the rental office refused to tell me anything about the location of this unit in relation to other units I was looking at beyond "it's walkable." I guess they don't want you going around them and trying to rent the property directly -- maybe that's why the mysteriousness about location -- but really, a bit more information about precisely how far, how hilly, etc. would have been nice. Although it is walkable for adults and older children, it's up a steep hill and was not walkable for a 2-year old. Also, a simple question like "is there a hair dryer" was met with "there should be, but you might want to bring your own because they walk off sometimes." It turns out it was in there, but I had to carry one just in case. It seems to me that if a hair dryer is supposed to be there, a guest should be able to rely on that. Presumably the property management office could check with housekeeping to verify rather than brushing off the request. They just did not seem overly concerned with customer service. But the property was really beautiful and the price was entirely appropriate, so we probably will use this company again, unless they blacklist me for writing this review (sorry -- it's honest). One suggestion for an amenity that would be very helpful -- a humidifier. The Santa Fe climate can be somewhat difficult for guests from less arid climates, especially for sleeping in the first few days. Most hotels have humidifiers available upon request, so this would be a very nice thing to offer. |

Alma Compound Casita A guest from Bloomington, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in December, 2009 We have stayed at numerous places in the SF area and this rates at the top! A lovely home for long or short term. The only changes we would recommend would be curtains in the bedroom (it was nice and bright but we like to sleep in while on vacation!) and an updated bathroom faucet. We hope to stay here again! |
