A guest from Roswell, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2016 I spent a couple of days at the Cliffs, for a business trip, and found the location to be perfect. It is walking distance to the AUC campus, and there are a few nice restaurants (and even a casino) across the street.E5 is a very nice, 2 bedroom suite with everything one would expect from a rental. The on premise staff were always helpful and attentive to any requests. While there are no grocery stores within walking distance, there is a small market up near the school.
A very nice stay, great amenities, a couple small quirks
A guest from Newton, MA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in January, 2016 Overall, our experience at the Cliff was very positive. This unit has a well equipped kitchen, nice bedrooms and bathrooms, fantastic ocean view, great lap pool, a nice lobby area and a very comfortable balcony complete with great furniture. We did not rent a car and did a lot of walking; It was about a 5 minute walk to Mullet Bay beach, a 3 minute walk 3-4 good restaurants, a 10-12 minute walk to the grocery store and a 20-25 minute walk to Maho...one day we walked it, the other day we got a quick cab ride.Overall I would give the Cliff and unit E5 a 4.5 as it did have a couple minor flaws, especially given the price to stay: no towels at the pool or beach, no HDTV in the unit, housekeeping was good but kept a very inconsistent schedule, and room/property key cards failed multiple times and quite easily. Again, these are all minor but enough for me to not rank it a full 5 score. I would definitely return again, however.
A guest from Naperville, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in September, 2015 We just returned from the Cliff at Cupecoy and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. If you are visiting a student at AUC this is about as convenient and scenic a spot as you will find. Our unit was spacious and had a gorgeous view of the bay. The facilities are very nice and for our money, this side of the island (South/Southwest) is the nicest part. The downside is that, in the low season, some of the amenities are closed for the season (The Cafe for instance) which makes spontaneous meals a bit challenging. But there are a number of very good restaurants in the area, well within walking distance. In particular the Blue Fin is a fresh seafood restaurant that we truly enjoyed. If you want to see the entire island it is definitely best to rent a car although be prepared for some very narrow roads.
Audrey P. from Avon, CT recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in March, 2015 It was a great place and I loved the views and loved the Island. I especially loved Cherice who helped us book our trip and excursions!
A guest from Edgewood, KY recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in January, 2015 We were pleasantly surprised with the facility which was very clean, updated and top notch. Our view from the 5th floor was outstanding and we spent every morning, late afternoon and evening sitting in our comfy lounge chairs. The ameneties of the facility were also excellent like the access to the private beach and the lap pool. We wish the Le Café would have been open for breakfast as their lunchtime was a little late for us as we wanted to be at the beach by noon. Cherise was very attentive to our needs. We would love to come back to the Cliffs. We have rented many villas at St. Barts and have stayed numerous times at St. Maarten, and this has been the best overall experience for lodging. We certainly enjoyed walking to dinner across the street to Fig, Temptations and Brasilica.
Eugene M. from Staten Island, NY recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in March, 2014 The Cliff at Cupecoy Beach was just the right fit or place to rent. Oceans views, beautiful open reservation area, clean, spacious rooms, excellent cleaning staff, great amenities, and beautiful spa, pools and hot tubs. Close to great restaurants and shopping on the Dutch side. Will definitely rent again on our future trips.
A guest from New York, NY recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in December, 2013 The Cliff was a great choice for our vacation. E5 was very comfortable, views were awesome, and it had all the comforts of home.
Reviewed by: A guest recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in November, 2012 Beautiful property with excellent amenities including a beautiful outdoor pool and an indoor lap pool and gym. Suite was very large, modern and comfortable with a huge veranda overlooking the beach. The beach was small and private and great for swimming or sunning without a crowd. A private location perfect for a quiet relaxing vacation but with easy enough access to town. Also very close to the airport cutting down on travel time. We initially had a problem with the AC but management was excellent in getting on it immediately and calling in an air conditioning company to replace a part. Lovely to deal with. Highly recommended.
Reviewed by: A guest recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in March, 2012 Overall our family had an excellent experience. Our suite was clean, spacious, with modern furnishings. The ocean view was spectacular. Had no real complaints of note during our stay. My only suggestion would be to have a more active presence of a conceirge desk to assist guests with tours etc. Despite this,we enjoyed our stay. We were also very pleased with the location in Cupecoy- close to beautiful beaches, restaurants and shops. Would definitely stay here again.
Reviewed by: Anne F. recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in September, 2011 The Cliff at Cupecoy was a perfect choice for my husband and I to celebrate our anniversary. The island of St. Maarten has always been a special place for us and we have many happy memories there; staying at the Cliff added to our enjoyment this trip. The facility is grand and views are spectacular. The staff was attentive and made sure all our needs were met, including a champagne toast for our special occasion.
Reviewed by: Jo-Anne M. recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in May, 2011 It's difficult to find reasonably priced, new and beautiful resorts in St. Maarten and this was an ideal choice for us. The apartment was incredible where the bedrooms were spaced away from one another nicely giving a lot of privacy. The closets were huge with tons of hangers, the beautiful, modern kitchen was such a bonus and the manager Cherise greeted us with a gift: a fridge stocked with soda, beer and wine! It was a great stay. The only negatives was there was only one thin blanket per bedroom and no extras (I even called to order some), so in the future, I will ask for extra blankets before we arrive. To sum up our stay - We all wanted to move into "The Cliffs" and never leave!!
Reviewed by: Patrick M. recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in March, 2011 From the minute you enter the lobbby The Cliff impresses. The apartments are nicely laid out and the long terraces overlooking the beach are wonderful. The full kitchen is nice. We had breakfast there everyday. Nice to have your coffee while looking at the blue, blue Caribbean. Everything is here top notch. and the location couldn't be more convenient, close to both sides of the island and their different attractions. Or you don't need to anywhere as there are at least 8 restaurants within a very short walk. This was our third stay and I suspect there will be a fourth.
Reviewed by: William S. recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in December, 2010 My wife and I returned to The Cliff at Cupecoy Beach this December. After having such a great time there last year, we decided to go back and stay there again. I can't say enough about the level of service we received from the staff there. Robert and Cherise were attentive to our every need, and went out of there way to ensure that our stay was as enjoyable as our first visit to the island. I will definitely return to The Cliff on our next stay in St. Maaren.-bill
Terry D. from Newton, Kansas recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in January, 2010 We loved our stay at The Cliffs. The condo was lovely & very clean. Perfectly depicted by the photos I received. Cherise & Gabby are great! Other staff in restaurant & spa very friendly and professional. We recommend the property when in St. Maarten!
Love The Cliffs but Housekeeping Needs Major Adjustments
Reviewed by: Harriet L. recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in December, 2009 Restaurant was fabulous! Do not need room service as you have other problems like Housekeeping that need to be fixed. The room was without washcloths, soap, dishtowels, tissues when we arrived. two days we had to wait til 5:30 for cleaning service which took away private time with our family when we all wanted to shower. The sheets were NOT washed every two days and we had to sleep with sand in our beds. I tipped two housekeepers $20 each for the holidays and they quit the next day! The locks on the doors of 5E on the terrace and in the front first bedroom need to be checked We love the Cliffs, but housekeeping needs to run more effectively to represent the organization in an upscale and 5 star way. right now it is the weakest part of your organization and needs important improvements. Otherwise, we love The Cliffs and Cherise is very responsive and an excellent representative for The Cliffs.
