Altinkum is set on the Aegean Coast (Bodrum Pennisula), in the south west of Turkey (nearest side to UK). Flights are to IZMIR (1.5 hours) or Bodrum (1.15 hours). Altinkum, sometimes called Didm/Didyma is famous for its miles of soft fine sandy beaches and is rich in history with the Appollo temple at the top of the resort. Altinkum is not as busy as some of the other resorts such as Kusadasi or Marmaris, but does cater for all tastes. Altinkum is like an upside down "T" with the bottom of the T being the beach, the main stick being the beaulevard with many large shops and supermarket, and the end of this stick being the main town centre where this complex is located. The town centre has many typcial Turkish restuarants and shops, and are much cheaper than those in the beach area. The dolmush (mini bus) passes every few minutes and will take you anywhere in the resort for about 40p. New is 2005 is the fantastic water park, with various pools, slides, rides and floating toys. It is great value at 20 YTL for adults and 8 YTL for children. This is a 10 minute ride outside the resort. Peak Season 1 June - 30 September = £1350 in total Family of 4 August 2006 Dear Linda Please feel free to use any of these comments on your website. Firstly I would like to say that the booking with you was a very smooth process. This was the first time that we had booked seperately, so we were a little nervous. Your apartment really was gorgeous, it had everything we needed from kettle to potato peeler, to wonderful views over the pools. The pools were also fantastic, and our boys had great fun using them. The location was spot on for us, with it just 10 minutes into the old town centre, and we found the restaurants here were much cheaper than those on the beach front. The market on Saturday is enough to satisfy anyones shopping urge! We found a lovely little bakers at the end of the road, just before you turn left into town (about 5 minutes walk). A really nice family own it, and we used to stop here every night on our way back to the apartment and get bread for breakfast the next morning. It was very hand indeed. All in all a very nice holiday and we hope to be back next year. Ian Hudson (Ely) Ian.hu@tiscali.co.uk
