Loved the house, location, layout. Kitchen needs some improvements (pots & pans) Several utensils were unusable. Loved the screened in porch - kids loved the dock.

We had a very relaxing visit. The inside of the home is quite beautiful. The openness of the main rooms on the 1st level is fantastic. We like to crab and still fish so the dock was a plus for us. We did catch a lot of crabs but no fish. We enjoyed the peace and relaxation this home had to offer.

We had a ball. We all decided that we want to come back to Lost Options next year. It was our favorite house in years. ( We have only missed about 3 years since we started coming in 1983.) We will be renting more kayaks as all of us loved being on the tidal creek and able to ride the kayaks to the beach back an forth even though the walk is short and easy, even with a 4-year old and 7-year old. We ranged in age from 4 to 87 and there were 11 of us there off and on and there was plenty of room. The only problem we had was a problem with the disposal and someone was there within a few hours to fix it. All in all it was a great experience. Can't wait 'til next year.

The house was great! My husband was excited about fishing on the dock, but he never caught anything. One of the local boat captains said it was a "fishing dock", not a "cathching dock". Nevertheless it was great to sit on the screened in porch and watch the water level rise or fall depending on the tide. The walk to the beach from the house was short and convenient. We have always enjoyed our vacations at Edisto and plan to come back as soon as possible!

My extended family rented this house for a long weekend retreat. The smaller kids throroughly enjoyed the screen porch because they could play outside even in the rain. We cooked in the large kitchen and spent a lot of time at the beach which was a short walk away. The best part was crabbing! The kids and adults had a blast pulling in about 60 crabs. I was a little disappointed that the house was not cleanner upon arrival. We had to wash all the bedding including the matress protectors as well as sweep and wipe down counters. My sister and I had some allergy issues due to the dust that lingered in areas that apparenlty had not been dusted in quite some time. The house could definitely use some updating as each small bathroom is within a bedroom and all the floors squeaked. My opinion is that the best thing about this house is the location. For an older house it wasn't that bad and we all survived each other :)

We had a great time but the property could use a bit of work especially the kitchen.Everything in the cabinets were pretty much in despair.The gas grill on the stove made such a noise that it was not useable. Also take a look at the dishwasher. The rest of the place was finr and we enjoyed ourselves.

This house has a great location being a short walk from the beach and also has a nice tidal creek just out the back door. Our kids had a great time catching crabs off the dock and running back and forth to the beach. In the evenings we also enjoyed the screened in deck. The furniture and fixtures could definitely use an update but overall we enjoyed this house.

The house needs deck furniture. The wicker furniture on the porch was pretty bad. Over the kitchen table, 6 out of 7 light bulbs were burnt out. Not enough silverware or serving pieces in the house. We will not being staying there again.

Wonderful potential but there seems to be little care and far fewer amenitites than other places we have rented on Edisto Island.

Floors defintely make a lot of noise; bring your own pillows

Location is great. I thought an earlier review about the squeaky/noisy floors may have been someone just being nit-picky. But after experiencing it, I definitely agree. This won't be an issue unless you have people who want to sleep while others are up - it's that bad. Plus, there are some pretty big gaps in the floors downstairs that can catch a toe if you go barefoot. Also, I've never seen pillows so nasty. Good thing we always pack our own. Overall, the property met my expectations for the price range. I would probably rent it again.

Minor things mostly. Floors squeak, master BR ceiling fan makes noise, no other BR fans, few reading lights, lights burned out, no TV in bedrooms, no WiFi, utensils sparce, On and on. someone should go through the place with a careful eye.
