Idyllic rural surroundings Position: In the bocage region,  just outside the hamlet of La Fresne Poret, four miles from Sourdeval for shopping and restaurants and 10 miles from the larger town of Vire. The beaches of the Cotentin around Avranches can be reached in forty five minutes and it is only slightly further to Le Mont St. Michel. The ports of Caen and Cherbourg are approximately 1.5 hours away. Built in 1824 in the local stone, the mill cottage, which has been lovingly restored, lies in a peaceful setting at the end of a leafy track. It is the ideal, secluded hideaway surrounded by streams, fields, woodland and forest walks. The property includes a traditional apple orchard and a picturesque field with a stream running through it. There is also a large garden area with garden furniture and barbecue and a shallow, unfenced pond above, from which the mill stream flows. Fresh farm eggs and vegetables can be purchased from the friendly key holder.

Comfortably furnished in traditional style and tastefully decorated throughout, the accommodation is on three floors. The lower ground floor includes a double bedroom, bathroom and separate wc. The spacious, attractive, oak-beamed middle floor has a sitting area with large open fireplace with wood burning stove, comfortable sofas and armchairs. There is a raised dining section with long wooden table and chairs. Kitchen area with sociable, central work space, gas cooker, fridge, dishwasher and washing machine. A tumble drier, iron and ironing board is available in the utility room. Top floor with two beamed double bedrooms and a separate wc with wash basin. Central heating can be provided by a wood burning stove and under floor heating in lower ground floor (wood is charged at €5.5 per day). Electricity included up to 60kw per week. Bed linen and towels available at extra cost payable locally. Cot available.
