Le Manoir de Hérouville is located mid-way between Bayeux and St Lo, easily accessible from the Channel ports of Caen/Ouistreham and Cherbourg and Caen Carpiquet airport.
The main house and Pigeonnier have been extensively refurbished and modernised to a high standard, whilst retaining the original features and character of a pre-Revolution Manoir.
The house is in open farmland in the lee of the Cérisy National Forest, which offers possibilities for walking, riding and cycling. The grounds and gardens extend to seventeen acres and include a stocked lake for fishing.
Accommodation:
Within the main house there are three large bedrooms available for letting the rooms are spacious, well decorated and traditionally furnished with antique four poster king or double bed. Each has large, modern en-suite facilities and extensive views over the surrounding countryside. There is a comfortable and elegantly appointed drawing room on the ground floor where guests may meet before breakfast, relax with tea and home made cake in the afternoon or chat over a glass of something intoxicating or soothing before bed, and a charming and relaxed dining room close enough to the kitchen to appreciate the fragrance of freshly baked bread in the morning.
The Pigeonnier, which possibly denoted the importance of the Manoir, is both unusual and charming. It is completely round and has been arranged over three floors - the mezannine top floor as a twin bedroom, the middle floor as a galleried double bedroom with antique bed and en-suite shower room, and the ground floor has a kitchen, a seating and a dining area. Each floor is linked by an open staircase, the stairs are steep but manageable.
Bed and breakfast guests in the Pigionnier also have the use of the kitchen and seating area using the building as an apartment, alternatively the Pigionnier may be used as a self catering cottage. A welcome pack of local produce is included in the price for self catering guests.
Battlefield Tours:
Positioned astride the June 1944 boundary between 1st US Army and 2nd British Army, close to the airborne landings, invasion beaches, and major sites of the Battle of Normandy, Le Manoir de Hérouville is ideally located for tours of the Normandy battles.
Should you wish to book a bespoke battlefield tour we would be delighted to assist you. It is always advisable to book tours well in advance of your visit and we are happy to help with local directions and advice or to liaise with local tour guides on your behalf.

€60(euro) nightly price as per person per night bed and breakfast in Le Manoir, €65(euro) nightly price as per person per night in Pigionnier cottage, €500 (euro)weekly price for Pigionnier as holiday cottage. A discount is available for bed and breakfast bookings of 7 days, and for three persons sharing a room, further details are available at the time of booking
Your reservation will be held for 14 days pending receipt of deposit. In the event of cancellation please notify us as soon as possible.
We generally request that guests arrive between 1400 – 1930, however, should you wish to arrive earlier or later please telephone to make sure we are here to welcome you. Vacation of rooms on day of departure is by 1030.
Le Manoir de Hérouville and Le Pigeonnier are non smoking throughout
