Stayed for 42 days in February, 2013 The proximity of the bird sanctuary was disturbing... the linens did not fit properly... we bought many kitchen ustensils and the air conditionning ducks had not been clean for a longtime... no intercom from the main entrance to the unit was very annoying... there was no HD TV or Wi-Fi so we had to buy a TV set and had Brighthouse install the HD service and Internet service for our stay... |

Disappointed, especially for the money... A guest from Tampa, FL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2012 I have stayed at the San Remo for years in different rooms and on multiple dates and the room I normally rent for the week of the 4th had a long term renter so I had to find another unit to rent this year. I have friends that rent 2 other units at the same time and for the money I paid for this particular unit I am very disappointed! First off, the price was significantly higher than I normally pay for the same exact location on a different floor. My friends who were staying also paid significantly less. (I paid around $1300 for Sat-Sat. One friend paid $1300 for 10 nights, the other paid $1300 for 2 weeks!!!)When we arrived to our unit, the fully tiled floors were so filthy that my 4 year old looked like he had run down Gulf Blvd with no shoes on. This was after only about 20 minutes of being inside. Not only were the tile floors filthy, but the tile job was obviously a DIY project gone horribly wrong. It was terribly uneven, causing multiple trips.In addition, the obsolete television in the living room is going out and has distorted coloring to the picture. The furniture was decent in the living room and the beds were reasonably comfortable. They did offer plenty of sleeping space, which is definitely a nice option for those with large families. There was a King bed, a queen bed in the 2nd bedroom, a fold out couch and a roll away twin bed in the closet. I didn't see any extra sheets, but there were extra blankets in the closets.The kitchen was fairly well stocked and there wasn't anything additional that I needed that they didn't have. The San Remo is a great location and we enjoy the property, however, after viewing multiple other rooms and staying in others, I don't feel as though this room is a good deal. I will not rent this unit again, but will certainly stay at the San Remo in the future. I find that dealing directly with the owners is better as they have more pride in ownership. |

A bird "sanctuary" as immediate neighbors to the north.Since we live in the country with lots of treeswe were right at was a great view and access to the pool and beach was as promised. It's furnishings were comfortable and adequate, but some aspects could do with updating. There was plenty of storage space and the amenities were adequate to make our stay comfortable and pleasant.As regards the previous comments about the bird sanctuary, we did not ever experience any sleepless nights, although dependent on the wind there were time when the smell wafted in our direction and was slightly unpleasant. However, this was far outweighed by the spectacular sights of the birds coming and goings and their antics. |

What about all these birds???? Michael M. from Nashville, TN does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2011 This was our first trip to this area of the Florida Coastline. The accommodations were very nice and comfortable, we had a wonder view of the Gulf and the kitchen had everything we needed. However, one thing the website failed to mention, was that these condos set right next door to a bird sanctuary. The description was wildlife viewing. Little did we know. I thought I was part of an Alfred Hitchcock movie. The sqawking kept some family members up during the night. There were birds on the balcony, in the trees, in the pool and all over the beach. Got nailed a time or two with bird poop. Think I'll move down the beach about a quarter mile on my next visit. |

Stayed for 7 days in March, 2010 It has so much potential. Lose the towel racks painted pink, the light switches looking dirty because they were painted over. Linens paper thin. Not enough kitchen utensils for people that like to utilize the kitchen. The pool and access to the beach were nice. Being located next to the Bird Sanctuary made you duck (and a target a few times) for the birds that flew over. It was adequate but would we stay there again - NO PS. Mundelein is incorrectly spelled! |
