Manzanita - The house is modern and open in design and has a wrap around deck and rock-face fireplace. The large open living room has wrought iron chandeliers and a cathedral ceiling, with sectional furniture facing the fireplace and the windows. The loft-style upstairs, with its desk area, two bedrooms and bath gives the house lots of usable space and style. There are also a bedroom and bath on the lower level. The remodeled kitchen and dining area helps to make the down stairs great for entertaining. This home is perfect for celebrations and get-togethers. This is the kind of place that you will want to stay in for a week or two or three.Go out the sliding glass doors, step off the deck and your feet are in the sand. It's like having your own private ocean. This house sleeps 10 and is perfect for large gatherings. Put the car keys away and walk to play golf. Or take a 5 minute walk along the beach and get a special cup of coffee in town. You'll enjoy Water's Edge and will fill your stay with beautiful memories. This place is perfection. A grass covered dune blocks part of the view of the water, but it's only a short walk to the water. The house has everything you need, although it would be nice if there was some plastic wrap, tin foil, plastic bags, etc. for left over food storage. One nights' supply of firewood would be nice too.The weather was absolutely amazing while we were there and it was nice to have the deck to sit on and soak up the sun!This was our second time staying at the house and we would definitely stay there again. The beach is great and plenty long for those walkers that like a good workout. The house is close enough to town that you can walk there either on the beach or on the road. Beautiful house with a soaring windowed front looking out over the dunes to the ocean beyond with no houses to block the view. Great open floor plan. We had a little trouble with the oven heating properly, but that was solved when my husband turned the breaker controlling it off and then on again to reset the electronic controls. The one serious negative was that the fireplace smoked and set off the detectors. The damper was definitely open. The fire smoked slightly less once the long chimney had heated up, but still we had to open doors to clear the house of smoke. By the condition of the river rock above the fireplace opening, I could see that we were by no means the first occupants to have that problem. |

Its hard to imagine a better view! We enjoyed the well equipped kitchen and also grilled on the charcoal grill regularly. The only issue we had was an out-of-service light fixture which the property manager said had been damaged by a roof worker and was pending repair. However, there were enough floor lamps that this proved only an inconvenience. Highly recommended property! |

It was clean and spotless. Kitchen was very well equipped, as were the bathrooms! We wanted to use the bar-b-que so we called the office. Within 10 minutes, the maintenance person was there and we had the bar-b-que was all ready for us.The tv could have had a better connection but we didn't come there to watch tv, did we???All the office staff were very polite and friendly. I believe the person who was helping us was "Jen"? Anyway the self appointed princes, and we loved her. Great sense of humor and very helpful!We already reserved it for the same time next year.There was no way this week could have been better. Some of us couldnt walk very well, so the house's closeness to the beach was a real plus! And the views from the house were awesome.Needs a new guest book though. We ended up only being able to use that toilet for urination only for the duration of our stay. The home was also pretty dusty, with crumbs on the kitchen counters. So it was not in very good condition upon our arrival. That said, it's a great home in a great location, and if the cleaning situation was remedied, I'd stay there again. |

Needs Updating for the Price A guest from Bend, OR does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in November, 2008 We have stayed ALL over the Oregon Coast and this by far was the most asthetically displeasing decor we've seen... and we paid more for it. The carpet is depressing, the laminate in the kitchen... torn and repasted. The heat in the "master" bedroom did not work the entire time we were there, and the space heaters that the management brought made the electricity go out. So, we just bundled up and made the best of it. On the flip side, the location is great.... but when it's cold and rainy you're gonna spend more time inside and it got depressing after a while. |
