Great Location - Minor Difficulties Roberta H. from Sherwood, OR recommends this property.
Stayed for 3 days in September, 2015 When we arrived, we could not get the front door to open and had to call the office for help. The lock was not in good condition and needed to be replaced. One of the bedrooms in the downstairs had a curtain instead of a wall and it was partially missing, compromising privacy. In one of the other bedrooms the TV did not work. Other than that, we loved it. There were lots of dishes and cookware to meet our needs, a fantastic fire pit in the back patio, decks off several of the bedrooms, lots of comfortable seating, close to the beach. If they fix what needs to be fixed, we would stay there again.
Our Annual Family Gathering at "The Big Yellow House" A guest from Des Moines, WA recommends this property.
Stayed for 7 days in July, 2015 Magnificent view & great location! Near beach, foods, & shops to prowl. Big family group has happily stayed an annual week in this large, casual home for several years. It's beginning to show wear & tear. Fixed what we could; then reported the rest. Management is very professional. Limited laundry facilities to meet necessary laundry requirements. Timing is vital on final day! Are already booked for next year; on hold week for NEXT!
Treasure Rock House Gail C. from Southworth, WA recommends this property.
Stayed for 4 days in June, 2015 This house met our needs perfectly. It was clean and the most well-stocked house I've ever rented! Just a block from the beach, close to other attractions ie Tillamook Cheese Factory, Flight Museum, Cape Meares Lighthouse as well as a short drive to Cannon Beach or Seaside. Enjoyed the Friday Market in Manzanita, browsing the shops and ordered take-out pizza. The kids built sandcastles, walked on the beach & had beach bonfires at night. Wonderful place for families and/or groups of friends to gather. I'd highly recommend this agency/house to anyone!
Another Good Experience Everett C. from Hillsboro, OR recommends this property.
Stayed for 2 days in May, 2015 We have been holding our Men's Retreat annually for the past 10 years in the area. We have been at Treasure Rock House for the past 7 years. Each experience has been good. Once again this year, the house served us well. We had 14 men for the weekend. Free periods were used to kayak, walk the beach, play golf, and operate a portable amateur radio station we erect each year. The house is well maintained and meets our needs easily.
Fun at the beach! A guest from Lake Oswego, Oregon recommends this property.
Stayed for 3 days in March, 2015 House was wonderfully sized, fit five families comfortably. Easy, short, block-and-a-half walk to the beach. Amazing views. Downstairs was more "rustic" than upstairs, both were very comfortable. Loved the back yard, the huge couch in the living room, and watching the sunset over the ocean out the windows. Great trip!
Great weekend in Manzanita Eleyna F. from Portland, OR recommends this property.
Stayed for 2 days in January, 2015 Treausre Rock was a lovely house. It met and exceeded our expectations in terms of size, up to date furnishings and comfort. We rented both the upstairs and downstairs which meant we had enough bedrooms for six couples~. Only thing we would change a larger strucutural issue, the kitchen and dining room could have been larger, but for a weekend it was fine.
Great family vacation! A guest from Hyrum, UT recommends this property.
Stayed for 3 days in October, 2014 The home was a wonderful getaway. The bedrooms in the basement were a little less quality than the two rooms upstairs (We rented both units) so some people felt a little slighted. The home was wonderfully stocked with movies, games and books. The foosball table was a big hit with the kids. Wonderful view of the ocean was breathtaking from the dining room, living room. The parking was a problem with only space for 4 cars, since we had 5 families. It was a pain to leave a car parked in an unfamiliar parking lot and so far from the home.
Manzanita Beach House Diana L. from Beaverton, OR recommends this property.
Stayed for 2 days in September, 2014 In general good place for big group. We liked the amount of separate sleeping room options and proximity to beach for cost! Traditional beach house and beach house decor. Pluses:- Great size for big groups(4 families - 8 adults & 8 kids)- Great location - a block or so to beach and view from dining and living room of the ocean.- Ability to park 4 cars - important for house that accommodates large groups.- Well stocked kitchen- Back yard and patio area good for hanging out - firepit for smores- Bunkbed room was great for boys to all be togetherMinuses:- Kitchen cut off from living and dining room - we are used to having more open concept so this wasn't as the good for the size of our group.- Some pans are getting pretty bad and non-stick is coming off so rotating in newer items here and there would be good.
Treasure Rock on Oregon Coast Denise R. from Great Falls, MT recommends this property.
Stayed for 7 days in August, 2014 This house accommodated our group very well. Prior reviews mentioned double beds(I was worried), but only one bedroom had one double bed, the others had queen beds. It will sleep 20, but one bedroom has 2 queen beds, one has a queen and a bunk bed, and one had 6 sleeping spaces, so it might be challenging if you're not real close to your fellow travelers. It worked great for our group of 14 though. It has 2 kitchens, but there was not one thing in the basement kitchen (no dishes, pots or pans, or utensils), so we moved some from the main floor. It was a short walk past about 3 houses to get to the beach access, it is not right on the beach (but you can see the ocean from the house). Overall, it fit our needs very nicely, and I would definitely consider staying there again!
Treasure Rock house the second time! Linda M. from Sherwood, OR recommends this property.
Stayed for 7 days in August, 2014 This is the second time we have stayed at the Tresure Rock property. Things had not changed. Things we felt needed some up dating werep the sheets and mattress covers. They sort of slid around on the mattresses. Also greatly needed was a bread knife. All in all we had a lovely time!
Our Family Big Yellow House Louise C. from Des Moines, WA recommends this property.
Stayed for 7 days in July, 2014 Our extended family lives annually in this large, informal house for 1 summer week -- we LOVE it! Always clean, well-furnished; challenging kitchen for 20, but a 2nd on lowerlevel. Love outside areas & creek! Close to beaches, groc, browsing/shopping; quiet area.
Treasure Rock Amy C. from Meridian, ID recommends this property.
Stayed for 3 days in July, 2014 We very much enjoyed our stay at Treasure Rock. The house was huge and easily fit our group of 12. We enjoyed how close it was to the beach. We would have liked to be able to park more cars in the general area. Our group had 5 cars. The agreement stated that we could have 4, but the county said we could have 7. Also, some of the information emailed to us on what we needed to do did not match the information listed at the house, for example the internet listed the house as pet friendly, the house information said no pets.
ok but not fabulous Nicole B. from Longwood, FL recommends this property.
Stayed for 3 days in June, 2014 downstairs bedrooms only with double beds ( too small for 2 grown adults to share)& bedrooms had no curtains on windows. With long days in Oregon in the summer this disturbed sleep. Headboard in one of downstairs bedrooms loose and noisy..also disrupting sleep.I did not sleep well in this house but guests in upstairs bedrooms did not complain. OK for the price but would have paid more for better sleep in a different house
Never again A guest from Yelm, WA does not recommend this property.
Stayed for 4 days in May, 2014 We have been renting a house for 5 years now and this time it was quite embarrassing/disgusting. There was a JOINT AGAIN A JOINT left in the cupboards, carpenter ants or extremely LARGE black ants in downstairs bathroom, dirty mildewie shower curtains, no screens on windows to keep bugs out and the downstairs stinks of mildew. Very unpleasant condition. Never again
Annual "Men of Cedar" Retreat Everett C. from Hillsboro, OR recommends this property.
Stayed for 2 days in May, 2014 Once again, the Treasure Rock House served us well. We had 15 men for the weekend, and the house and amenities did the job for us. Thanks.
Great View! Jodi S. from Milwaukie, OR recommends this property.
Stayed for 2 days in April, 2014 This was a perfect house for our group. Plenty of room! Beautiful grounds and spectacular view of the ocean. Very short walk to the ocean. We enjoyed the fire pit for roasting marshmellows. Thank you for sharing your great house with us!
College Student Leadership Retreat Krista K. from Portland, OR recommends this property.
Stayed for 2 days in March, 2014 We love staying at the Treasure Rock. With two kitchens, two eating areas, lots of bed configurations, and two laundry facilities on-site it makes the logistics of a large student retreat seamless. Plus the beautiful view and sounds of the creek in the backyard; it's simply amazing!
Good Stay at Treasure Rock A guest from Portland, OR recommends this property.
Stayed for 3 days in January, 2014 broken chair in living room not usable. Hot water heater wasn't working till one of our men fixed the circuit breaker...then worked fine. Otherwise, we like this house ...comfortable, great ocean views.
Comfortable Place To Return To A guest from Milton Freewater, OR recommends this property.
Stayed for 2 days in October, 2013 We have been in this house several times over the years because it always suites the group of ladies that we have. It is amazing how the decor, right down to the bedding has been the same and still holding strong! Like coming home each fall we visit!
beautiful property, wonderful view Patty B. from Portland, OR recommends this property.
Stayed for 9 days in September, 2013 this home accommodated our large family perfectly. It has everything from a perfectly appointed kitchen, tv's everywhere, movies, outdoor fire pit and lots of play area. The view is spectacular whether it's stormy or beautiful, just steps from the beach. We encountered a few minor problems, called them in and maintenance was there literally in minutes. Had a great stay and will definetly be back.
Three-Generation Annual Beach Trip A guest from Beaverton, OR recommends this property.
Stayed for 3 days in August, 2013 Our first time at this location, we loved the openess of this large home. Plenty of room for the 12 of us. Well equiped kitchen. Some minor issues with the home not being well maintained. None of the remotes worked with the TVs, a huge crack in one of the picture windows, window shade broken in downstairs bedroom, BBQ grill would not heat up sufficently. Had a great view. Would definitely rent again as these were all minor issues.
Fantastic OR Coastal Reunion Site Louise C. from Des Moines, WA recommends this property.
Stayed for 7 days in July, 2013 We continue to love this extra-large home for our casual annual Family Reunion Week -- several years now! Always clean & inviting; well-furnished kitchen; excellent view & management; helpful maintenance staff when needed.
Good stay A guest from Portland, OR recommends this property.
Stayed for 3 days in July, 2013 Nice house with a LOT of room for family gatherings, easy beach access, nice views, lovely yard. Close enough to town for an easy walk (10 minutes maybe?).
Once Again - Well done. Everett C. from Hillsboro, OR recommends this property.
Stayed for 3 days in April, 2013 We've used this house for several years, spring retreat. We are very satisfied with the house, and the manager.
Treasure Rock A guest from Sherwood, OR recommends this property.
Stayed for 2 days in March, 2013 The house was perfect for our large group. The location is awesome. Our only complaints were: we had issues with the hot water. Maintenance did respond right away, however, it still did not work well. We had luke warm showers, downstairs was worse than upstairs. This was touch with 19 women....Also, the upstairs bedroom that opens to the patio was FREEZING! We called it the tundra- BURR! There wasn't alot of deck space for a house so large. It seems that there could be a deck over the downstairs portion on the west side of the house? Otherwise we loved it and would recommend Treasure Rock and the we would come back. Thanks!
Very nice place for our quilting trip or small group A guest from Forest Grove, OR recommends this property.
Stayed for 5 days in November, 2012 The house needed some updates Heater in basement garage area not working, some appliances not working, bu overall a good house for a quilt group.
a favorite house. the ocean view from house is great. Gail L. from Milton Freewater, OR recommends this property.
Stayed for 2 days in October, 2012 noticed extra care was taken in the preparation of the house- the house keeping crew really had all the towels and amenity items displayed nice, besides the place being neat and clean. we have been to this house several times over the years and everything is pretty much the same as far as linens, furniture, etc, but the care that has been taken of the place between guests is apparent. this time just seemed even nicer- new crew? if so they did a great job presenting a welcoming package!
We have come there for the last three years - always great A guest from Portland, OR recommends this property.
Stayed for 2 days in October, 2012 The home offers a wonderful experience. the view is great. one thin I would suggest: get a high definition television. we watched games on Saturday, but this something you might to upgrade to.
Our Holiday at Treasure Rock A guest from Portland, OR recommends this property.
Stayed for 4 days in August, 2012 This is a great house for family reunions. It is roomy and well designed and comfortable and close to the beach and basically well maintained. The only trouble we had was doing the laundry as we all left at the same time and did not have all the sheets and towels processed before we left.
Recommend with caveat A guest from Portland, OR recommends this property.
Stayed for 7 days in August, 2012 If only the carpet had been cleaned of spots. I called your office and was told they were permanent. Not true as I removed the larger ones with club soda. If only the garage had been cleaned since most of our group had to pass through it to get the their bedrooms. It was disgustingly dirty as was the patio area where we spent a lot of time out of the sun. Otherwise the rental was perfect. Bedrooms, baths, kitchen very clean. Location perfect. Would recommend with caveat.
Wonderful family reunion A guest from Colbert, WA recommends this property.
Stayed for 3 days in August, 2012 We had a wonderful family reunion for 20 in August. The weather was amazing, the house perfect, the weekend memorable. We were able to get just 3 nights as there was a small opening in the schedule created by other reservations. It was nice that the bedrooms were spread out so everyone could sleep soundly while others were up. The walk to the beach is very short and easy. We found many sand dollars and enjoyed hours of fun on the beach.
This was our second year at Treasure Rock, love this house. Debbie K. from Quincy, WA recommends this property.
Stayed for 7 days in July, 2012 There was sand in the sheets in the downstairs red bedroom and they were damp. Washer and dryer upstairs had issues, but it was a good vacation. Would like to see the porch extended out front :)
memorial day manzanita getaway Lauren C. from Portland, OR recommends this property.
Stayed for 2 days in May, 2012 The house was very spacious. The common area is quite large and comfortable. There are a lot of bedrooms and beds, including one room with multiple bunks for kids. It is a very short walk to the beach. The kitchen was basic and functional. The house was very clean. We had a great time. This is an awesome house that I highly recommend.
Great vacation home - near beach - but needs some work James S. from Pullman, WA recommends this property.
Stayed for 2 days in March, 2012 Home is nicely furnished and equipped but needs some maintenance. The two levels each have their own kitchen so are perfect for multi-family vacation. Upstairs however has the lovely large living room with awesome picture windows looking out at the waves that entire group will want to congregate in and enjoy. We were a bit disappointed with several maintenance issues which all seemed could have been cared for in advance. We came in mid-March with heavy rains. On our arrival, tne downstairs bedroom already had a bucket catching water drips from the ceiling. By second night, another downstairs bedroom had rain water soaking into the carpet - discovered by stepping out of bed in the morning. The downstairs bath had peeling paint and a heavily mildewed shower liner. One upstairs bedroom had a broken wall heater (only heat in room). By the looks of the missing control knob it appeared to be out of commission for a while already. Please, folks, give this place a little more TLC and make a good place into a great place!
Property Manager Response: Response from Sunset Vacation Rentals Owner is aware of the leaks and is in the process of getting it repaired. Thank you and sorry for any inconvenience. Shower curtain has been replaced and heater is working again.
UP Shipstad Hall Retreat 1/27-1/29 Theresa M. from Portland, OR recommends this property.
Stayed for 2 days in January, 2012 One of the rooms was unable to be occupied due to a leak in the roof which in total only accounted for the house sleeping around 18. Otherwise our stay was great. Would recommend supplying more paper products as well as plastic wrap and tinfoil for cooking.
Weekend Woman's Retreat Gail L. from Milton Freewater, OR recommends this property.
Stayed for 2 days in October, 2011 We have stayed at this house 2 other times over the last few years and really enjoy it. The only things I would say were disappointing were that the kitchen could be a bit better stocked for cooking in. There weren't enough small spoons for the number of guests the house can sleep, the linens are reduced to rags, no cookie sheets of such, few storage containers- just a rather tattered array of kitchen items- except the white set of plates, bowls, mugs and saucers. There was nothing in the downstairs kitchen to borrow from for the upstairs one- wonder what people do when they just rent the lower half of the house. The single mattress next to the window, in the basement bedroom smelled very strongly of urine and unfortunately it wasn't noticed until it had been slept on- gotten warm from body heat. We do enjoy the house, but noticed things in the house are getting rather tattered in places.
A Great time in a really classy place A guest from Portland, OR recommends this property.
Stayed for 2 days in October, 2011 Once more we had a great time. There is nothing that wasn't great. It just took a little time to figure out that the instructions for the VCR/DVD were in the book. I'm slow.We look forward to coming back next year.tom Tate
Treasure Rock A guest from Portland, OR recommends this property.
Stayed for 2 days in September, 2011 Upstairs and view were great. Downstairs unit was a bit musty. Fine for the kids but I would not have wanted to sleep down there.
Debbie K. from Quincy, WA recommends this property.
Stayed for 7 days in July, 2011 This house was perfect for us. We have already booked it again for next year. The fire pit outside was used everynight and the beach is close enough to walk to for all ages. We took bikes with us and found some good paths for all ages too. This was our 5th year doing a family vacation and this was the BEST house we have found. Very clean and roomy.
A guest from West Point, Utah recommends this property.
Stayed for 5 days in July, 2011 We had a fun stay at the Treasure Rock house. The toys and games were very entertaining for the kids, especially considering the rain we had that week. The view was amazing and the house was comfortable and charming.
it was crazy to rent a house that had no CD player. Thankfully one of our gang brought her laptop, so we could play music throu Nancy D. from Tacoma, WA recommends this property.
Stayed for 4 days in December, 2010 When we arrived there were some noticeable stains on the carpets, and we were concerned that we would be blamed for them later. We were assured by property rental company that all stains had been noted prior to our arrival. We did like the sleeping accomodations (very quiet and everybody had a room) and 3 bathrooms for 12 people works well. Having a 2nd kitchen was also fabulous for 12 people who bring all of their food down and all love to cook. We rent a house at the beach (anywhere from Gearhart to Rockaway) and this was one of the better houses for layout, in terms of 12 people each having a room, and the 2nd kitchen (the main kitchen wouldn't be easy for several people to work in). The lower level is strictly bedrooms, a bath and a kitchen, and wouldn't be a pleasant place to rent alone for a vacation, but is perfect for a large group wanting the whole house. It wasn't the best house for creature comforts (no CD player!!) and is a distance from downtown Manzanita, a place we love to spend some time. A long walk, or if weather is bad, you must drive. Views of ocean from main floor were wonderful.
We had a great time and hope that we certainly left it in as good condition as we found it. The location was great - we did hav Tom T. from Portland, OR recommends this property.
Stayed for 2 days in October, 2010 So you can't change the street. We had a great time and are planning on next year if we can get the number of men again to go down - I think it won't be a problem.
A guest from Jersey City, NJ recommends this property.
Stayed for 2 days in September, 2010 This house was great. We had a large crew of college friends with significant others, and the house couldn't have been better. Great views and lots of common space for people to spread out. The furniture was comfortable and much newer than the Internet pics make it seem. Happily surprised.
Clean, generous accomodations in a beautiful partially wooded setting near the beach for our family of 16. What more could we a William G. from Lake Stevens, WA recommends this property.
Stayed for 6 days in July, 2010 A family of raccoons is living above the carport next to the large upstairs bedroom. They forraged thru the garbage cans at night until we put the cans in the garage. Owners may wish to remedy before damage is done. I'll send pictures via separate e-mail. Overall condition of property is excellent.
Always impressed with our homes thru SSVR Wanda B. from Columbia City, OR recommends this property.
Stayed for 2 days in April, 2010 This time we had a problem,we could fix it but it was a pain. The downstairs bedroom with single beds & bunks had bedspreads on them, but when we went to bed no sheets on any of the beds so as the last women arrived at 10PM they all had to make up the beds.
Vacuum cleaner and bunk beds Karen M. from Portland, OR recommends this property.
Stayed for 4 days in November, 2009 We love Treasure Rock and have already put in our reservation for next year. Only issue was a vacuum cleaner that was so stuffed with debris that it was unusable. Also - is there any reason that the bunk beds in the kids' room are never made? Nothing like trying to get 6 tired kids to bed at 10 p.m. and discovering that the beds need sheets.
Property Manager Response: Response from Sunset Vacation Rentals It is at the request of the homeowners that the bunk beds not be made. Next time call about the vacuum and we will take care of it for you. Thanks for the comments and see you next year! SSVR
Perfect for large group A guest from Gaston, Oregon recommends this property.
Stayed for 3 days in October, 2009 This house was GREAT. There was plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen was well equipped with plenty of dishes for 20. There were extra tables for games and projects and we were able to all sit together for family dinners. This is a great property and I would highly recommend it and we plan to return again.
Our family weekend exceeded expectations. House was perfect. A guest from Keizer, OR recommends this property.
Stayed for 4 days in September, 2009 We are nature lovers so the creek in back, the naturescape and being near the surf was splendid. fabulous ocean view and sunsets. the garage was a good sandy entrance for all. The resident racoon knows how to open the garbage lids. Hope to do it again. Loved it.
Elizabeth G. from ABERDEEN, WA recommends this property.
Stayed for 5 days in August, 2009 We all had a blast, we like to rent it again in 2011 for our next reunion. The only problem we had was THE BUNK ROOM had no sheets on the beds. but everything else was great. Thank You
Summer Stay at Manzanita A guest from Brush Prairie, WA recommends this property.
Stayed for 5 days in July, 2009 The house was lovely with a great location. We loved the firepit in the back yard. There were some problems with the electrical wiring causing flames to shoot out of an outlet. It was taken care of right away, but we were told the whole home needs rewiring. There also was a problem with the clogged bathroom drain downstairs. Everything was taken care of with just a phone call, but it seemed these things should not have happened. We did have a wonderful time.
Good week at a great house A guest from Portland, oregon recommends this property.
Stayed for 6 days in July, 2009 I've stayed at Treasure Rock many times for retreats and now for a family vacation. Always love it! The one thing that should have been addressed was a big cracked window in the main family room. We were told by the cleaning crew that the group before us cracked the window and that it would be quickly repaired - but no one ever came by or addressed it. It didn't mar our vacation at all - I'm just hopeful it get fixed before it really breaks! Thanks for a great time.- Curtis
Perfect for extended family use William G. from Lake Stevens, WA recommends this property.
Stayed for 6 days in July, 2009 This property shows evidence of being deeply lived in - and much loving care. Shaded yard and deck perfect for quiet uses, house spacious enoough for multiple board games and cards, location near enough for easy access to local shopping and golf, beach near enough to see and hear. A great place - even for a surprise 50th anniversary dinner party for 20 next to the shaded brook in the back yard! Aleady looking forward to next year!
Great Property Manager and Property made for a great stay! Tami M. from Beaverton, OR recommends this property.
Stayed for 2 days in June, 2009 We had a wonderful time at the Treasure Rock. It is a large, well kept house with a gorgeous view. The backyard has a wonderfully secluded patio with a fire pit: the perfect gathering place during the evening. The upstairs kitchen was large enough to accommodate quite a few cooks in the kitchen. There are plenty of good sized rooms with lots of comfy beds so none of else felt crammed in. Everything, including the property manager, Betty, made for a very comfortable and memorable stay! We will certainly be staying with Sunset Vacation Rentals again!
