Manzanita - This is a great Cape Cod style house with country cabin flare. You'll enter this home through a mud porch that reminds you of an English farmhouse. Once inside, you'll notice the knotty pine walls, exposed beam ceiling and cabinetry throughout. As you step into the country kitchen and dining room, you begin dreaming of fresh brewed coffee and baked bread. Then, to your right, you'll step up into the living room, complete with a wood burning fireplace and stylish mantle, noticing the antique clocks and cabin style furnishings. There is even a space under the staircase that houses toys and living room extras. The large windows in these rooms allow you to enjoy the courtyard atmosphere of the front yard, with the flower boxes and birdhouses lovingly placed and maintained by the owner. This really is someone's much-loved beach home!
As you stroll through the house you will notice the downstairs bathroom, back porch/laundry room and two quaint and lovely downstairs bedrooms in the back of the house. You'll find one room that has a small bunk bed for the children and a spacious master bedroom for Mom & Dad. By these rooms, you'll find the stairs to the upper floor, where there are three more bedrooms and a bath, beautifully designed and decorated for the rest of the family or your cherished friends. Two of the bedrooms feature a Queen size bed and the last has a Twin Bunk Bed. This is a sweet and beautiful home that will make you want to come back again and again to the beach. It's everything you could want and much, much more.
This home is in a perfect location - just houses to the City Park and blocks to downtown and the golf course - this newly remodeled four bedroom home is just 1-1/2 blocks to the ocean and features beautiful landscaping in the front and a back deck for entertaining.

Sherwood Forest- cozy, inviting, close to the beach
Jessica W. from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in January, 2016 From the minute you walk in the door, you know it's going to be a relaxing stay. The house has the smell of a warm fire, the charm any cottage should have, and space enough for a moderate size group to be comfortable. A close walk to the beach wraps it all together perfectly!
A guest from Bend, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in November, 2015 Wonderful place to stay, plenty of room, kitchen had everything needed for cooking a large holiday meal for a large family gathering. Can't wait to go back. Maybe a summer family reunion.
Property Manager Response: Response from Sunset Vacation Rentals We are so happy you enjoyed your stay and that the house was well equipped for your holiday needs. We hope we can help you plan your next vacation here at the beach.
A guest from Monroe, Washington recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2015 I have rented a vacation home from Sunset Vacation rentals for 5-6 years, always a different home. This home was one of the best.
A guest from Snohomish, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in August, 2015 Sherwood perfectly met our needs! We planned a family vacation with three couples and two little children. We appreciated the big kitchen table for meals and games. The location was perfect, close to the park with tennis courts and playground for the kids, and close to the beach.
Our Family's Holiday at Sherwood Forest, Manzanita, Oregon
A guest from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2015 Sherwood Forest was a great place to stay with our family of 9 although it was a bit too small for such a large group. Two of the bunk beds lacked railings making them almost useless. The location is very good, close to the store and the beach and the restaurants and the neighborhood is very pleasant.
A guest from Portland, Oregon recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2015 Nice location. No view, but close to town, park and beach. Customer service was great. The dishwasher wasn't draining properly. I called Sunset and they had someone out to fix it right away.
Scott E. from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2015 The house was just as described and everything was in order. It was set up very well for my family and was a short walk to the beach. We had great adventures using it as our home base. Everyone at the office was very nice as well. I highly recommend the house.
A guest from Tempe, AZ recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in June, 2015 Rented this house last year. Came back this year with my brother and his family. House was fine for 2 families and a dog. Great location, can walk to anything you need.
A guest from Bend, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2014 We love this house. It is spacious, clean, meets all our needs with a large group of people and in a great location.
A guest from Aurora, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in September, 2014 Our family (and two dogs) converged on Sherwood Forest from Seattle, Portland and Colorado. Everyone loved the house. There was plenty of room for 5-6 adults and the access to the beach (2 blocks) and town (maybe 4) gave everyone lots of options. One minor problem was the screen door was kind of a self-locking door. It's a minor fix, I'm sure, but could have created problems for us. A note to dog owners: the yard and deck are really nice but the yard is not fenced.
Tracy F. from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2014 From a previous vaca at this property we knew how to plan for this one. Pricey but we like the perfect housekeeping and the absolutely quiet neighborhood. Can't get any better.
Sharon H. from Beaverton, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in July, 2014 I had my three daughters and their spouses and grandchildren as they could make it. We all had a glorious time. We just wish we could have rented it for next year.
A guest from Port Hadlock, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in November, 2013 I love working with Sunset Vacation Rentals. We have been to Manzanita four times and love the time spent there as well as having great homes to rent. We'll do it again.
Scott C. from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2013 We enjoyed our stay and the property management company ended up being great, but holy cow they try to nickel and dime you with fees. It may say $100 a night, but by the time you pay every fee and tax (including a non-refundable security deposit, in addition to the typical refundable security deposit) a few nights stay is very expensive. However, the property management company waived a few of the fees for us upon asking. I recommend them, but will definitely ask for lower fees again next time we stay.
A guest from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2013 Seemed like there was a lot of stuff to sign, but after that everything was good. It would be good to know that the locks are rekeyed every year, and that the combo box gets changed - this is for vaca security.
Melanie A. from Longmont, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in August, 2013 This was our third stay in Manzanita and the first in the Sherwood Forest home. The house was clean, well equipped and had a lovely backyard! We had family members for part of our stay and the sleeping arrangements were perfect. Nice proximity to the beach and downtown - we would definitely stay here again!
A guest from Brush Prairie, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2013 Stayed in June 2013. Beautiful flowers outside. A short stroll to the beach. A bit dated interior. Easy to book.Reason for 3 out of 5 stars overall: The first morning of our stay we couldn't get the main floor shower to work. We called and left a message but never heard back from Sunset Rentals (even after checking out). This was very disappointing, especially because we had a large house with only one working shower.
Heidi E. from Hood River, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in November, 2012 We have been to Manzanita several times and love the town. Being able to walk to town and beach is something we find important.Having 5 bedrooms in this very affordable home was awesome. We loved the fireplace after being outside all day. Thanks!
A guest from Abbotsford, BC recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2012 It has everything you need. Rooms for all. Parking: 2 cars for a house that sleeps up to 10? Not possible. Other wise a great place.
A guest from Iowa City, IA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2012 We had a great time at Sherwood Forest in Manzanita. We really appreciated the twin beds, as well as the doubles. Nice location-- 2 blocks to the beach and to town. The house had everything you could ever need. The town; however, was much busier than our last visit 6 years or so ago. I guess there have been articles writtten about visiting Manzanita in the newspaper, so it's become much more popular.
Elaine P. from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2012 My daughter and her family came to Oregon from Texas for memorial day, this was the perfect get-away for her and the two grandchildren, we added cousins, aunt, uncle and had a wonderful visit. My brother-in-law was playing at the Nehalam Wine Fest and we went to see them as well. Wonderful home and community. Thanks
A guest from Corvallis, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2012 Sherwood Forest is a great beach house for a family who likes to walk everywhere -- to the beach, to the park or to local stores. The layout of the house, including two bedrooms downstairs and three up plus a large living room, provided both privacy and gathering spaces. The layout of the home and its location were both perfect for us.
A guest from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2011 We liked the house. Everything was great except we did not have hot water starting Sat. afternoon. So no water heater our last 24 hours (no showers!)
Dave P. from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in August, 2011 The location is excellent since it is close to both the beach and the city park for the grandchildren. This is the third year we have come to Sherwood Forest and we hope to keep coming back
A guest from Shoreline, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2011 We have rented from SSVR for many years. We have a favorite house and each year our experience has been a clean, well kept rental home and great service from SSVR. We have recommended them to many people. Keep up the good work!
Naomi S. from Bainbridge Island, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in August, 2010 It was a great stay with a playground a block away as well as the beach, and close to town. We had a great time. There were even toys for the kids and my son loved the little bunkbeds.
Catriona C. from Portland, Oregon recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2009 Lovely older style house with well equipped kitchen and good towels and bedlinen. Lovely cosy atmosphere with good garden and deck for BBQ. Ideal with small children as it is close to the beach and the shops!
Lela T. from Olympia, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2009 This home was perfect for our family of both children and adults. There was plenty of sleeping space and a well maintained kitchen for preparing meals.
